A significant moment in the race occurred on Lap 106 when Carson Hocevar contacted Ricky Stenhouse Jr., ending Stenhouse's day and sparking post-race tensions. Stenhouse expressed frustration, labeling Hocevar's move as "definitely overaggressive". Despite the incident, Hocevar managed to finish 2nd, marking a notable achievement in his rookie season.
