In this episode I talk a bit about why I did not pursue a university faculty teaching position upon graduating with a Ph.D. and what this means for our family. This episode is also an exploration of the style of Thai massage therapy and sports massage I offer at the Legacy Wellness LLC massage therapy and movement training studio in Bluffton, SC. Abraham Lincoln said it best, "Whatever you are, be a good one." I am passionate about the work I do with my clients as I navigate my available resources and offer the most comprehensive, holistic therapeutic massage therapy and movement training I can to help them meet their goals and lifestyle needs.
I let the narrative follow a natural path and share that my husband, who has been in enlisted in the USMC for nearly 21 years, talks about driving a garbage truck someday. Why? Listen to the episode and you'll understand. Sometimes we don't need to have the most desirable jobs, but we can love who we are and what we do within the roles we have. My "job" as a business owner and massage therapist is not the esteemed university faculty position I once dreamt of having after completing the Ph.D. program, but I absolutely love what I do. And with that, I am who I love.
