Ever wonder what it really takes to hire a remodeler you can trust? We sit with Jennifer Tovar of One Stop Premium Interior Remodels and get candid about building a family business that thrives on craftsmanship, communication, and follow-through. From custom kitchens and spa-worthy bathrooms to fireplace installations, ADUs, and full interior overhauls, Jennifer explains how a one-stop model can simplify planning, reduce stress, and keep quality high without ballooning scope or timelines.

Jennifer shares the resilient origin story behind OSP. Hector, her husband and the company’s general contractor, learned the trade on the job, launched a firm during the turbulence of COVID, faced health and economic setbacks, and rebuilt from scratch with a sharper focus: fewer concurrent projects, deeper attention, and owner presence on site from demo to punch list. That decision shapes everything—cleaner schedules, tighter crews, and results clients are proud to show off. We also tackle the elephant in the room: contractor myths. Ghosting and unfinished jobs do happen, but they don’t define the entire industry. Jennifer offers practical cues to vet a reliable pro, including responsiveness, detailed scopes, transparent change orders, and day-to-day leadership.

Beyond the tools and tiles, there’s a real family at work. Between travel baseball weekends and garage motorcycle projects, Jennifer and Hector bring empathy and patience to every home they touch. That human perspective matters when budgets shift or surprises pop up behind walls.  Expect clear next steps, steady communication, and a partner who wants you to call back for the next project because the first one went right. If you’re planning a kitchen remodel, fireplace remodel, bathroom refresh, or room addition—and you value craft over chaos—this story will help you choose with confidence.

Jennifer, how is it going?

SPEAKER_02 (00:36):
Good, good.
How are you?
Thanks for having me.

SPEAKER_01 (00:40):
We're really, really excited to learn about your
business.
So tell us about your company.

SPEAKER_02 (00:46):
So OSP, which is known as One Stop Um Premium
Interior Remodels, is aremodeling company.
We focused on custom kitchenremodels with beautiful bathroom
transformations and high-qualityfireplace installations.
Aside from that, we pretty muchdo everything for your home when
it becomes for an full interiorremodel.

(01:08):
We also do ADUs and roomadditions.
So we are pretty much yourone-stop shop.

SPEAKER_01 (01:16):
Wonderful.
Well, how did you get into thistype of business?

SPEAKER_02 (01:20):
So I am the wife and partner of Hector Tovar.
Hector is the general contractorfor One Stop.
Hector has been in the industryfor about 15 years.
He got his actually his foot, his steps into the door with uh
with construction when hestarted working with a general
contracting uh generalcontractor, I'm sorry.

(01:41):
And he worked with him for manyyears.
And I think that's where hispassion started for the
industry.
Um, and as as the time went byand the more time he spent in
that type of industry, hedefinitely set up a goal that
he's like, I want to own my ownbusiness one one day in this in
this type of field.
So he worked really hard and hewas able to accomplish that.

(02:04):
And he for he opened his firstuh construction company in um in
2020, towards the end of 2020.
And I think that's when um COVIDCOVID had started, or we're we
were mid-COVID, which was areally tough time for us because
he also got COVID and was outsick for about a month.
But that's how um that's how hestarted with uh with general

(02:28):
contracting and home remodels.
And unfortunately, we had somelife challenges and we had to
close down our firstconstruction company business,
and then Hector had to start allover again and work himself,
work himself all the way fromthe bottom up, and that's how
OSC interior remodels cameabout.
Our second opportunity.

SPEAKER_01 (02:49):
Wonderful.
Well, um, what do you think aremaybe some myths or
misconceptions in your industry?

SPEAKER_02 (02:55):
Uh, the most common ones that we hear is about
contractors not getting back toclients, contractors walking
away from the job or or notresponding.
And I think that's a situationthat does happen, but it doesn't
represent the entire industry.
There are many generalcontractors out there, including

(03:16):
us, that are dedicated andresponsive and committed in
delivering high-quality uh workfrom start to finish.
And I know a I think a badexperience travels faster than a
good experience.
So, but the truth is there arereputable and trustworthy
client-focused uh professionalsout there, and we're definitely
one of them.

SPEAKER_01 (03:37):
Wonderful.
Well, now we know marketing isreally the heart of every
business.
So, how are you finding yourcustomers?

SPEAKER_02 (03:45):
A lot is word of mouth, a lot of them.
We've had, we we're verydedicated to each project that
we jump on or jump into.
Um, we try to take one or twoprojects at a time because we
want to make sure our focus iscompletely on the project.
And Hector likes to be thereduring each process or each the

(04:06):
beginning and the end of theproject through everything.
Um, he's more of aperfectionist, so he wants to
make sure everything is doneright.
He is a people person, so hewants not only he wants the job
to turn out right for himself, but also for his for his
clients.
He's trying to build that thattrust, that that great
relationship.

(04:26):
That once this work is done, youcan call him back for additional
work or for any questions, orwe're here to help you.

SPEAKER_01 (04:32):
Wonderful.
Now, I have you ever thought ofhaving your own podcast?

SPEAKER_02 (04:38):
No, but it would be fun.

SPEAKER_01 (04:41):
Yeah, it is a lot of fun and very informational too.
So, okay, now outside of work, what do you like to do for fun?

SPEAKER_02 (04:49):
Well, we have two boys.
Uh they're they're teenagers.
Um, one of our uh boys is umhe's in in travel baseball, so
we're really busy with himbecause he does the competitive
baseball, so we're alwaystraveling from city to city
trying to get him more exposure, which we enjoy.
We love all that activity andthe intensive and stress that

(05:10):
the baseball brings to ourfamily.
And then my other son who is um17, he enjoys motorcycles.
So, like, there's always a bikein the garage that needs help,
like needs work, or a friendcomes over and he needs help.
And then once the friend comesover, Hector tends to jump in
and it's a family project.

(05:32):
So we try to do we try to spendas much time as we can with our
boys, and I think that's thebest time that we have with
them, and we're trying to stayactive and doing life together,
which is our fun time.

SPEAKER_01 (05:46):
Wonderful.
Well, Jennifer, please tell ourlisteners one thing they should
remember about one-stop premiuminterior remodels.

SPEAKER_02 (05:56):
We really put our heart into each of the projects
that we get.
We do take our time, we listen, and we're we're people just like
you.
We have our homes, we understandeveryone has situations that
come up that don't expect.
So we're here to work together.
And because we're a family-ownedbusiness, we're much more

(06:17):
dedicated in everything that wedo.
So as long as we can worktogether, we can build that
trust.
I'm here for you, you're herefor me, and your project is
going to turn out better thanyou expected.

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
