Welcome to the inaugural episode of the Gravity Monkeys Podcast, a show dedicated to all things mountain biking, hosted by Alvino Garcia and Johnny Contreras! We're coming to you live from our mobile studio, the one and only "Honda Rhousey," a testament to our grassroots, go-anywhere spirit.
In this episode, we dive headfirst into the topic of new bike day. We've both recently acquired fresh rides, and the stoke is at an all-time high. We're sharing our initial impressions, the meticulous process of setting up our bikes to our personal preferences, and the expectations we have for these machines on the trail. From suspension settings to cockpit adjustments, we're giving you a behind-the-scenes look at how we get our bikes dialed in.
We also take a moment to reminisce about our favorite riding spot: Virgin, Utah. The legendary terrain, the breathtaking views, and the challenging lines make it a mountain biker's paradise. We're already making plans to put our new bikes to the ultimate test on those trails, and we'll be sharing all the details of our upcoming trip.
But before we head to Utah, we're building our own little slice of practice heaven. We're discussing our plans to construct drops and features in our local area to hone our skills and prepare for the big lines that await us. It's all about progression, and we believe that building our own practice spots is the best way to get ready for the challenges of Virgin.
