Heif Dogg (00:21):
Yo, yo, yo yo.
What up everybody.
Here we go.
This is it, Episode one of HeifDecent.
You didn't ask for it, Nobodywas demanding this, but here it
is anyway.
I can't promise the best showin the world, but it'll at least
be Heif Decent.
And if you're listening, firstof all, thank you.
You could be listening to abillion other podcasts right now

(00:43):
.
We don't need another one, butyou're here and I appreciate
that.
Today's just going to be aquick intro.
I want to keep it light andshort, but I also want to
explain what the show is, whyI'm doing it and where I'm
hoping it goes.
So some of you might know mefrom Hoagie Time.
It's a podcast I did with myboys Money Mike and HT,.
Shout out those dudes and thatwas a fun run.

(01:05):
We did it for like a year and ahalf.
We had a great time.
We had awesome guests andhonestly just laughed our asses
off most of the time and stilllove those guys, Still talk to
them all the time and I'llalways be proud of what we did
with Hoagie Time.
But over time things change.
People's schedules just got allwrapped up and it got hard to

(01:26):
coordinate everybody and I gotto a point where I was like I
just want to keep creating.
I mean, the last year or so ofnot having a project like this
to work on, something wasmissing, and it's nice to be
back into it.
I just didn't want to waitaround anymore.
I didn't want to rely onsomeone else's schedule or to
need help editing.
I wanted to learn how to dothat myself or maybe miss out on
something fun, because I waswaiting for all the stars to

(01:48):
align so we could sit down anddo an episode.
But I just wanted to hit, record and go, and that's what
HeftySin is.
It's me doing my own thing.
If I want to record at 10 pm ona Tuesday, I'm doing it.
If I want to have a guest orjust rant about how fucking
expensive Taco Bell is now orwhy Billy Joel peaked with the
Stranger, I can do that.

(02:08):
Total freedom, total controland just fun.
I mean, this is not a seriousshow.
I'm not here to change yourlife or solve the world's
problems.
We're here for a good time, nota long time.
You're going to hear music talk, some comedy, some weird
tangents about the Bee Gees orparanormal stuff and some
awesome conversations withmusicians and comedians and

(02:29):
people that I find interestingand just want to chill with.
I mean, this is a hang, that'sthe goal.
It's kind of like the thing youthrow on during a drive while
you're working or just zoningout.
At the end of the day, I wantthis to feel like a break from
the noise and there's a shitloadof noise these days.
So just something heft decentto pass the time.

(02:49):
Put together a long list.
I've got a pretty great guestlist already shaping up.
First guy, the first actualepisode, if you're not going to
count this one as real, it's oneguy from one of my favorite
local bands, Fat Mezz.
This guy, Dom Levy.
He's dropping his first solorecord.
He just dropped his first solorecord this past Friday.
It's called Lazy River.

(03:09):
We're going to talk about that,Probably going to get into some
classic rock talks and Beatlesand whatever else comes up.
That's going to be a good one.
I'm looking forward to puttingthat out.
Beyond that, I've got musicians, comedians, even a couple of
wild cards lined up.
I don't want to drop too manynames yet, but let's just say if
you like Philly music, you'regoing to hear some familiar
voices on this show.

(03:30):
If you're into comedy, you'regoing to hear some of your
favorites, that's for sure.
Anyway, that's all I got fortoday.
I just wanted to get the wheelsturning, hit record and get the
show moving.
This is very much a practice innot overthinking.
No more waiting.
No waiting for the perfectcameras or the perfect studio or

(03:50):
the perfect guests, I'm justI'm hitting record and I'm just
going to rip and we're going tolet this go as it will.
But you're on this ride with me.
I appreciate you being there.
We're good to go for now.
So thanks for checking it out.
If you stick around, I'll do mybest to make it worth your time
, or at least it'll be halfdecent.
Got him.
Thanks for checking it out.
If you stick around, I will seeyou on the next one.

(04:11):
It's Dom Levy from Fat Mezcoming up and a whole lot more.
