We begin our tales of terror with none other than the infamous Vlad the Impaler. Vlad became notorious in his own times when he adopted the method of impaling people as his signature form of punishment and execution. He used this brutal form of torture and execution to bring back order and control to a country torn asunder with constant infighting. This atrocious and barbaric display of power was also used as a military tactic to protect him and his fellow countrymen from the seemingly invincible Ottoman empire.
