the door.
Let's dive into holisticsolutions that soothe your body
and bring long-lasting relief.
Welcome back everyone.
Skip Monty, your co-host, slashproducer, back in the studio
with Reverend Anne-Marie Byersand Rochelle Gianaris.
Anne-marie and Rochelle, how'sit going?

Speaker 3 (00:59):
Wonderful.
How about with you?
Skip?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
I'm doing just fine, doing just fine.
How about you, rochelle?
With you, skip, I'm doing justfine, doing just fine.
How about you, rochelle?
Doing well.
Thank you All right, awesome.
Well, let's get to the meat ofthe episode here.
What are some natural andholistic ways to reduce
inflammation?
Reverend Ann, why don't youtake that?

Speaker 3 (01:21):
Oh, first and foremost, as Hippocrates said,
and and we always say that foodis your first medicine.
So eating a good organic dietso that you know when you eat
organic you don't get all thepesticides and so you don't have

(01:42):
to process those out of thebody.
Studies have actually shownthat organic food is twice as
nutritious as conventionallygrown food.
So you're getting twice as muchnutrition and you're not having
to process out all of thechemicals and pesticides in

(02:03):
conventionally grown food.
So that's a good start.
Fruit is a wonderful,easy-to-digest food that gives
you energy.
Fruit is easy to digest so itdoesn't require so much
intervention from the body.
It has the good inulin fiberwhen you eat the whole fruit.

(02:26):
So eating a lot of organicfruits and vegetables to get the
good fiber to help things flowquickly through the body so that
you get those good nutrientsthat way.
So eating a good organic diet.
Reducing stress because onceagain, stress is the cause of

(02:52):
inflammation in the body.
Different kinds of stress, ofcourse, whether it's be taking a
vacation, that can be stressful, even though that's fun.
Holidays are stressful.
But then if you have asignificant family event, you

(03:12):
have a illness in your immediatefamily, you have a loss of a
family member.
That can be extremely stressfuland cause a lot of inflammation
.
It can be extremely stressfuland cause a lot of inflammation.
So reducing inflammation isbalancing your body, working on
your food choices and being kindto your body, taking care of it

(03:41):
when it is sick.
And certain things that arecalming to the body, like
peppermint tea, can calm thedigestion and calm the body, so
utilizing things of that natureto reduce inflammation.
We have several supplementsthat we utilize with holographic

(04:06):
health that help to manageinflammation in the body, like
our cherry gold.
We use some topical products, like our Campo Rub and Alchoway
that help to soothe the musclesand the joints in the body, so

(04:26):
that can really help to feed thetissues from the outside to
calm everything down, help theenergy to flow, because energy
flow in the body is what we'rereally looking to do to help the
energy flow better.
The body is what we're reallylooking to do to help the energy

(04:47):
flow better.
So you feel a lot more capableof managing life on a day-to-day
basis.
So how you feel is alwaysextremely important.
So if you get up one morningand you're really having a very
low day, maybe you need to slowdown and be kind to yourself

(05:08):
that day, because continuing tobe on that treadmill and running
and not taking care of the bodyand the mind and the spirit
will increase the inflammationin the body.
So it's not just the food youeat, it's not just the water you
drink, it's everything you takein to the body.

(05:32):
What you're watching ontelevision, what you're talking
about with other people All ofthose have an impact and a lot
of people don't think about that, but they do.
We don't advocate throwing outconventional medicine, because
that has its place.

(05:52):
You can utilize ibuprofen toreduce inflammation.
If you take 600 milligrams fourtimes a day, that also inhibits
the healing response, so itwill take you longer to heal by
utilizing that.
So that's just something tokeep in mind.

(06:13):
There are times when you reallyneed to utilize a painkiller.
If you've had a surgeryutilized a painkiller.
If you've had a surgery, if youhave a headache, it just will
not go away and you can't getproper rest because of that.
Those are the times you go withsomething conventional like
that so your body can rest.
But doing things like that longterm ibuprofen is really hard

(06:40):
on the stomach.
I had a doctor one time to tellme that she avoided that as
much as possible because it waslike shutting off a grenade in
your digestive system.
So because we know that yourdigestive system is a huge part
of your immune system, you wantto keep that healthy, and so

(07:01):
minimizing the amount ofpainkillers and things like that
that you pay is reallyimportant in reducing
inflammation overall.

Speaker 2 (07:15):
Wow, peppermint tea.
Huh, that sounds great, itsounds great.
So what are some easy lifestylechanges that can naturally
support an anti-inflammatoryresponse.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Well, like Anne said, making sure that you take the
time to rest when your bodyneeds rest, listening to your
body, identifying things thatmay cause your body and your
mind and your soul more stress, and giving your body time to
recover from those things, andalso making sure you're getting
enough good quality water tosupport your body's natural

(07:53):
processes.
Using our muscle testingtechniques that our founder, dr
Baruti, developed, we canidentify some of those things
that are specific to the bodythat may cause more inflammation
, like maybe you have foodallergies, like I've dealt with
before, that really causeterrible inflammation and other

(08:13):
symptoms that you can nail downand determine.
Here's my symptoms.
And using our techniques withmuscle testing, we can identify
the specifics of what's causingthose inflammatory or
uncomfortable responses that ourbody's having.
So getting to the root cause ofwhat's causing the inflammation

(08:34):
is often very helpful withcoming up with a program to
alleviate and address some ofthat inflammation as well.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Very good, very good.
So is there a secret handshaketo join the anti-inflammatory
club, or do we just start byeating more leafy greens?

Speaker 3 (08:54):
You know it's a lifelong commitment really to
reduce inflammation in the body, because as we get older the
body is less efficient, some ofus have to work harder to stay
healthy.
But it's more of a lifestyle.
You try to reduce stress, asRochelle and I both said, all

(09:16):
along and do things that makeyour heart happy all along and
do things that make your hearthappy, your meditation, prayer,
all of that to reduce stress isvery important living a life
that you love, eating foods youlike.
You know I have never been oneto enjoy broccoli.

(09:36):
It's hard for me to eat, Idon't particularly like it, and
so I just don't eat it veryoften.
If you like it, wonderful, it'sa wonderful food.
So I choose other foods that Ido like, that have the good.
I enjoy kale more than broccoli.

(09:58):
I just just love avocados, andavocados are such a good food so
I would much rather eat anavocado.
Some people don't like avocados, and that's okay.
So choose foods that are goodfor you, that you really enjoy.
Eat anything in moderation, buteven dark chocolate is a good

(10:21):
thing Once again, in moderation.
But even dark chocolate is agood thing, once again, in
moderation.
So if you like it, wonderful.
I'm not particularly fond ofchocolate that much, but
everybody likes it a little bit.
But it is a good food whichactually helps to reduce
inflammation and protect againstcancer cells.

(10:43):
So it's in, once again, inmoderation, very good.
But you don't want all the sugarwith conventional chocolate.
That's where we get intotrouble.
Tea is a wonderful food as longas it's not combined with a lot

(11:03):
of sugar, because sugar is veryacidic and creates inflammation
.
So probably, if I had to justmake a statement about
inflammation, the number oneculprit in our country is sugar.
I'm talking about white tablesugar.
In our country is sugar I'mtalking about white table sugar.

(11:27):
Now the sugar coming fromfruits natural fruit sugar is a
food for the body and gives youenergy, but the same amount of
white cable sugar is going tospike your blood sugar.
You're going to get that spikeand then the you know valley
later where you're going tocrash and your body is going to
become more inflamed from that.

(11:48):
So that's just one thingsomebody can.
Somebody can do switching toagave for a sweetener.
Honey is a wonderful food thatprovides a lot of good food for
the body and also good forreducing inflammation.

(12:09):
A good local honey is a goodfood for allergies as well, as
you know, a natural sweetener,so finding somebody that we can
get some good local honey fromis really good for you.
So those are just some examplesof simple things you can do

(12:30):
eating the whole fruit, makingsure it's organic, more than
drinking a juice, and squishingout your white table sugar with
agave honey, maple syrupsomething that is kinder for the

(12:55):
body.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
What about?

Speaker 1 (12:55):
cane sugar.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Is that better than white?

Speaker 3 (12:57):
table sugar or is it the the same thing?
It's pretty much the same thing.
You can get an organic painsugar, but it's still very
processed.
If you're going to use any kindof sugar, then get something
organic coconut sugar.
You can usually substitute inbaking for as a one-on-one

(13:19):
substitution and that is muchbetter for the body than just
white sugar.
So if I'm going to make cookiesfor Christmas I'll use coconut
sugar and some of these thingsI've learned over time.
There's a Bonnie Harihari that'sfood-bathed.

(13:39):
She has a lot of informationout there about how to
substitute for your family andthat's one of her big things is
use coconut sugar instead ofregular white sugar and it's a
whole lot more nutritious forthe body and doesn't spot the
blood sugar as much.
It's a little more level, as ismaple syrup and agave and

(14:03):
things like that.
The pick one you like and cantolerate and over time you'll
find that you really enjoy thetypes of sweeteners much more
than you would like white cablesugar.
We love coffee yogurt so I'llmix up my own with some maple

(14:26):
syrup and vanilla and organicyogurt.
So those I can.
So those I can really controlthe amount and the kind of sugar
that is in the food that we eatby mixing it up myself.

Speaker 2 (14:59):
So those are some things you can do to you in a
bad way.
So thank you so much.
Both of you and I appreciateyour time today and we'll catch
you guys in the next episode.
Thanks so much.
