Co-host slash producer.
Back in the studio withReverend Anne-Marie Byers and
Rochelle Janaris.
Anne-marie and Rochelle, how'sit going?

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Wonderful Skip Doing great.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Good to hear.
Good to hear.
So food is your first medicine.
What is the thought processbehind that?

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Well, hippocrates said that many, many eons ago
actually, and Dr Beruti, whofounded Holographic Health,
wrote a book called Alkalize orDie, and the whole theory behind
eating an alkaline diet forhealth is what we really look at

(01:35):
, and all foods create analkaline or acidic ash in the
body when they're eaten.
A lemon, for example, seemsacidic when you hold it in your
hand, but when you take it intoyour body say you're drinking
lemon water it creates analkaline ash.
So the two most alkaline foodsin the body, or that you can put

(01:59):
in the body, are lemon andwatermelon, and all foods are on
the scale of acid or alkaline.
Meat, for example, is extremelyacidic, as is sugar, but, like
I said, watermelon and lemonsand other fruits and vegetables

(02:19):
are more alkaline.
The other things that createacid in the body are stress and
negative emotions, whereasprayer, meditation and really
happy thoughts are reallyalkalizing to the body.
So what we want to create is analkaline environment for health

(02:44):
, because viruses, bacteria, cannot live in an alkaline
environment.
So you want to create thatenvironment in your body through
good foods, like organic fruitsand vegetables, and good

(03:05):
thoughts.
So it's all about the food.
But also food you take intoyour body includes everything
you're exposed to, like what youwatch on television and all
these other things, so you wantto take in good food, both what
you eat and drink and what youwatch and listen to.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Interesting.
So delve a little deeper intothat.
What you watch on movies andtelevision entertainment, that
sort of thing, are you sayingwatching like violent war movies
?
Is that a problem?

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Well, if you love things like that and it doesn't
bother you, that's one thing.
But I don't.
So many people watch the newsand it's so negative and
stressful and it's that stresson the body and the negativity
that is going to create anacidic environment.
Things that make you happy andfeel good are going to be good

(04:08):
food for your body and mind andspirit.
So just see how things make youfeel.
If watching a movie that isaction adventure gets you
excited and makes you thinkabout getting up and cleaning
your house and having a goodtime with your family, great.
But if it makes you feel reallyworried and concerned and

(04:33):
stressed and upset, don't gothere.
I quit watching the news about25, 30 years ago because it was
just stressful and negative.
I just don't do that and if Ifind myself catching something
starting to go down that trail,I say wait a minute, it isn't
worth it.
I need my health and happinessto be the number one thing I

(04:58):
focus on.

Speaker 4 (04:59):
I need my lemon water and my watermelon.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Yes, yes, wow, very, very interesting.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of violentmovies.
I like science fiction andcomedy.
You know, that's what makes me,happy Comedy is great.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
I think it was Norman Lear who cured himself from
cancer by watching funny movies.
Laughter is also a goodmedicine, and that's a great
segue.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
So some of our audience may know that Anne has
been diagnosed with a few cancerimbalances over the past decade
decade or better Since 2010.
Several times she hasessentially starved the cancer
away with diet and goodnutrition and creating a very

(05:45):
alkaline environment in her bodywhich, like she said, diseases
and viruses and bacteria andeven cancer cells cannot live in
.
So food really is a wonderfulfirst medicine to really think
about and use for all of it'sgood.

Speaker 3 (06:05):
This time of year, whether you're looking at having
a severe illness like a canceror just trying to keep your
immune system boosted for theholidays.
Watch that sugar intakeminimize that.
Watch the stress level minimizethat.
Eat more good fruits andvegetables and make sure they're

(06:27):
organic and, just you know, live a happy life.
Watch some funny movies and,you know, enjoy life with your
family and friends.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Amen, that sounds so good.
So you mentioned watermelon andlemon juice.
What are some examples?
I know those are examples, butsome other examples of food that
have specific healingproperties and how they can be
incorporated into a daily diet.

Speaker 3 (06:52):
Well, it's kind of hard to find strawberries this
time of year, but strawberriesare a really good cancer fighter
and also good for managingweight.
Blueberries are a really goodcancer fighter and also good for
managing weight.
Blueberries are a really goodcancer fighter.
All these wonderful colorfulfruits and vegetables broccoli
is a wonderful cancer fighterthings like that that are

(07:15):
colorful fruit carrots.
I remember one of the trainers Ihad a few years ago said nobody
ever got fat eating carrots.
You know so.
True, yes, and you can makesimple changes in your diet,
like eating whole grains insteadof the white flour.

(07:37):
You know, buying whole organicwhole grain bread or making your
own sourdough is really reallygood for the body.
Sourdough has some wonderfulbacteria that helps you to stay
healthy and work on the weight.
Intermittent fasting issomething.
If you don't eat after dinnerand you wait until late morning

(08:00):
or lunch to eat, that helps toreset the body and reset the
metabolism.
Avoiding refined sugars Ifyou're going to make cookies,
get some good whole grain flourand coconut sugar instead of
white refined sugar and use somegood fat like butter or palm

(08:27):
oil, which is much better forthe body.
And so those are simple things.
Oats, you know.
Oats instead of white flour.
You can buy these in your localgrocery store these days and so
good fats like avocado.
Avocado is a wonderful food forhealth.
I eat a lot of avocado and youcan usually get avocados

(08:53):
year-round.
You can get many fruits andvegetables year-round because
they do come from othercountries or hothouse grown, but
make sure they are organic.
That is extremely important.
Extra virgin olive oil andgetting.
In fact, dr William Lee, whodid the Eat to Beat Disease and
Eat for your Health series, talked about using extra virgin

(09:16):
olive oil and how important thatis for your body, and that's
something that I have been verycareful about over the years,
using only extra virgin oliveoil, butter and some palm oil,
if I need a shortening, becausethese are a lot healthier fats
and within holographic health,we have a way of eating, eating

(09:40):
fruit first and alone, becauseit will digest a lot quicker
than eating other foods.
So vegetables should be thecenter of your diet.
A lot of good vegetables, vegetables, fruits first or
alone, and then, if you eat meat, you need to eat it with

(10:04):
vegetables, not with potatoes orstarches, because that creates
a very acidic environment.
So no sandwiches.
If you're going eat meat, eatit with a salad or some
vegetables and eat your fruitfirst or alone.

(10:24):
Don't eat it on top of heavierfoods because then it won't
digest as well, and so yourdigestive system is really your
immune system, so you want tokeep that healthy.
Eating some good yogurt, especially Greek yogurt, is
really good for the metabolismand building that good gut

(10:45):
bacteria.
We have some good probioticsthat we provide for people that
really get all of the digestivesystem back in order If
somebody's taken antibiotics orhas had to do something like
that.
But some good Greek yogurt.
Things you can do with justfood are things like that

(11:07):
combining your foods carefullyso that you don't eat fruit on
top of meat to you know, so itwon't digest as well.
Eating some some good fats likeavocado, eating a lot of good
vegetables and fruits, makingsure things are organic and a
lot of good water.
Especially in alkaline water, isreally, really good, and adding

(11:29):
some lemon to that is excellent.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
Good to know, very good to know.
I don't know about you guys, but I'm really hungry now for
Greek yogurt with strawberriesand watermelon and lemon juice.
Thank you all so much.
