Speaker 2 (00:29):
Antibiotics can be
life-saving, but they can also
disrupt your body's delicatebalance.
In this episode, we explore howto restore gut health, rebuild
immunity and support full bodyrecovery after antibiotic use.
Welcome back everyone.
Skip Monaco, producer, back inthe studio with owners of
Holographic Health Inc.
Reverend Anne-Marie Byers andRochelle Generis.
It's good to see you again, ladies, how has your week been?
Speaker 3 (00:55):
Good to see you Skip.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
All right, very good
to see y'all.
So Anne-Marie and Rochelle, excited to dive into this topic
today.
I'm very interested in learninga lot more about antibiotics
and their effects.
So recovering from antibioticsis something that many struggle
with, and your expertise isexactly what we need.
So talk to us a little bitabout recovering from
(01:18):
antibiotics.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
Well, when you use
antibiotics, like you said, they
can be life-saving.
However, they don't just killthe bad bacteria in the body,
they kill the good bacteria, andthe good bacteria is the rest
(01:54):
of the body.
In order to rebuild that, youneed good probiotics and we have
a range of those in order tohelp work with that, to rebuild
that.
A probiotics 10, which has 10different types of probiotics.
That goes to all the crevicesof the body, and then we have
(02:14):
our colonize, which isspecifically for the colon, and
then we have other suggestionslike using pomegranate juice,
which helps to build a certaintype of bacteria in the body
that you can only get throughfood.
(02:39):
Bread is another one that hascertain types of bacteria that
helps to build another type ofgood bacteria that you can only
get through food.
So part of it is taking theprobiotics that help the gut to
(03:06):
rebuild, eating good food, organic food, and then the right
foods to maintain that and helpbuild that.
And you want organic foodbecause the Roundup, glyphosate,
the pesticides, also destroythat good microbiome, the good
gut bacteria.
So you want to eat organic andyou want to rebuild that gut
microbiome.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Very good, my wife.
I try not to take antibioticsas little as possible and to me
that also makes it moreeffective when you have to.
But that's just my thoughts onit.
But my wife takes a lot of themand she's a school teacher, so
she gets exposed to a lot ofstuff and comes home and says
I'm going to go to the doctorand get blah, blah, blah, blah,
(03:46):
blah.
What are the long-termconsiderations for those who
have had, like my wife, multiplerounds of antibiotics?
Speaker 3 (03:56):
Well, if you don't
replace a good microbiome, a lot
of things really go wrong inthe body, such as food does not
digest properly.
People often have trouble withweight control because some of
the probiotics allow the gut totalk to the brain and then the
brain chemicals are off fromthat and you can develop leaky
(04:19):
gut, which allows toxins to getinto the bloodstream from the
gut.
And that can happen whetheryou've taken antibiotics or not,
really by using pesticides, soall of those things.
And then you go down the roadof other illnesses because the
immune system is morecompromised, because you haven't
(04:42):
allowed the immune system towork on the invader, and so
sometimes you have no choice.
That we understand that.
But anytime you can use anatural approach to boosting
your immune system instead ofgoing to straight to an
antibiotic.
(05:02):
It's always better.
And so we have various thingswe have to boost the immune
system, which we have talkedabout in another podcast.
But that is how we reallyapproach it, because your gut is
your first line of defense inyour immune system.
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Very good.
Well, you said you know one ofthe best natural ways to
replenish beneficial bacteria isthe right foods and liquid
right, but some of them you canonly get by using a good
probiotic, and so it's acombination of both well, that's
what I was going to ask.
Are there some specificholistic therapies or
(05:44):
energy-based approaches that aidin healing from antibiotic
effects?
Energy-based approaches thataid?
Speaker 3 (05:50):
in healing from
antibiotic effects, the
supplements we talked about.
And you know, anytime you'reunder stress you need more good
food, more things to counteractthat stress.
So, keeping your stressmoderated, eating an alkaline
(06:19):
diet because when you eat analkaline diet we've talked about
that before as well that helpsthe body to work better.
Bugs can't live in an alkalineenvironment.
Cancer can't live in analkaline environment.
So using good foods like celeryand good green juices and, you
know, taking greens likespirulina, things like that to
help the body to be morealkaline, is going to help
(06:41):
everything overall.
So you're not going to have theovergrowth of the bad bacteria
to start with, if you keep thebody alkaline.
Dr Burundi's book Alkalize orDie is still a classic and that
made a huge difference in myhealth when I really realized
that I needed to make sure tokeep my food more on the
(07:02):
alkaline scale drinking lemonwater, eating good fruits and
vegetables and I'm a vegetarian,I do not eat meat, and meat and
stress are two of the mostacidic foods, along with sugar
(07:23):
that you can eat so well and theever-present unnatural
sweeteners, artificialsweeteners.
Those should be avoided byeverybody because those actually
mess with the good gutmicrobiome and cross the
blood-brain barrier and theyactually make people want to eat
more sugar and want more sweets.
People who use artificialsweeteners are actually more
(07:46):
overweight than people that eatsugar, so those are to be
avoided at all costs and byunnatural sweeteners.
I'm talking about the sucraloseand things like that.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Stevia is natural,
maple syrup is natural, coconut
sugar is natural and there are alot more natural forms of sugar
than bleached, whiteached whitesugar, which does not have food
value well, the artificialsugars in, let's say because
this is ridiculous that I askedthis but like sodas or coke or I
(08:21):
don't know what they use inthat, in diet coke and diet
drinks, bad right yes, exactlyso you want to avoid that.
Speaker 3 (08:32):
And that also leaches
calcium out of the bones.
Because have you ever poured aCoke on your windshield to get
rid of the film?
Speaker 2 (08:38):
My dad did.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Yes, and so that if
that goes in your stomach it
really gets rid of things inthere as well.
So those are not good foranyone.
And you know, if you wantsomething sparkling and natural,
you know you can mix somesparkling water with some
(09:02):
natural fruit juice and you knowthat makes a nice refreshing
drink.
Avoid the sodas.
They have no food value.
They also are often in aluminumcans.
Aluminum is a heavy metal thatbuilds up in the body and causes
other problems as well.
We want to avoid these things.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Wow, as far as
alkalinity goes, I've got a
garden in my backyard and I'vegot more kale than I can
possibly consume.
Is kale a good alkaline food?
Speaker 3 (09:37):
It is a great food.
Both the natural fiber and thegood vitamins and minerals in
kale is a very good food.
You can cook it, you can makekale chips out of it, put it in
the oven and make somethingcrispy Instead of potato chips.
Those are a few.
(09:57):
You know a little bit of spices, so those can be really good.
And a garden is a great way toboost your food value.
Have something locally grownand so anytime you can do
something organic that way it'samazing.
Speaker 2 (10:14):
And I use no
chemicals at all on my garden.
Absolutely Love it, because youknow, of course the lettuce is
getting out of season now, but Ilove to.
If I want to eat a salad atnight, I just go out to the
backyard, pick a bunch of stuffand bring it back, make a salad
and eat.
It Was in the ground that day, love it.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
Best way to do it
Very fresh.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Absolutely Well.
Anne-marie and Rochelle, weappreciate you sharing your
wisdom on this really essentialtopic.
I will make sure that my wifewatches this podcast so that she
knows it's not just me, butthese insights are invaluable to
