SPEAKER_00 (00:00):
So in today's clinical trials, you're hearing
more terminology like patientlistening or co-creation with
patients.
So what does that mean and howdoes it actually work?

(00:21):
We find a representativepopulation of individuals that
could potentially meet theinclusion-exclusion criteria of
your specific protocol.
We then recruit thoseindividuals, consent them, and
then we provide them with aseries of questions around
things like the schedule events, maybe how an endpoint is
captured, showing them theinformed consent language and

(00:41):
educational materials, maybegiving them recruitment ads or
recruitment copy that we plannedor drafted to use, or showing
them the long-term retentionstrategy for how we believe
patients in this clinical trialwould want to be supported and
engaged longer term.
And we take those items, thosequestions, we make them
open-ended, we give them tothese participants that are

(01:03):
giving of their time and oftheir effort to support.
They respond and give theirinsights and feedback.
And trust me, that insight andfeedback is invaluable to a
clinical trial's design.
You then take those insights, you put them into actions, which
means we take what we've learnedand we say, hey, if we were to
listen to all this feedback, this is the changes we should
make in the scheduled events.

(01:24):
These are the tweaks we shouldmake in the informed consent.
This is the Thank you.

(01:48):
or co-creation of a protocol iswhen you think about designing
studies, not just with thepatient in mind, but with the
patient's feedback and insightsas a core part of the actions
you take.
