Speaker 1 (00:00):
A kind of solar flare causes no one to be
able to sleep, no one except this little girl. Her
soldier mother fights to save her family in a world
where humans have lost the ability to sleep and chaos
takes over their minds. The story begins when a police
officer enters a station, greeting the surveillance camera and bribing

(00:21):
the front desk officer with money hidden in a coffee cup.
Then continues on her way very terrefully, not to be discovered,
until she reaches an office where she takes out a
bottle of pills. At dawn, we officially meet her by
the name of Jill and see that from her car
she's signed the pills she stole to a stranger. Then
she continues on her way, and when she arrives at
her mother's house, she takes a short nap, but her

(00:43):
daughter Matilda quickly wakes her up. There, her mother, Doris,
and her eldest son, Noah appear, and we realize that
she went to look for the kids to take them
to school. Although on the way she wants to be pleasant,
we see that Noah behaves rudely with her, and suddenly
something happens, causing the car stereo and the other electrical
device is to stop working, including Jill's car. Help me

(01:03):

is to get there. Help me reach one thousand subscribers
as we are about to achieve it. Thank you very
much in advance. Let's continue. At that moment, she loses
control and a truck hits them on one side, making
them fall into a lake. Jill first saves the girl,

(01:24):
and when she tries to help Noah everything it's complicated,
so he ends up coming to the service on his
own and then unites with his mother, and then we
realize that Matilda is fine thanks to some police officers.
Then they go to a nearby hospital where everything is
chaos due to the power outage, but Jill does not
receive medical attention, and so she decides to heal the
wound on her forehead by herself while everyone tries to

(01:46):
find out what is happening. Then she hears a woman screaming,
and when she goes to a room, they discover that
some patience in a coma woke up thanks to the
power failure. Shortly after, they arrive at Doris's house, who
invites her daughter to stay with them. At dinner, she
remembers that all the money she had was lost along
with the car, and that the next day she has
to work at six in the morning, so she needs

(02:07):
to sleep to get some rest, but nothing happens when
Jill sets the alarm clock and gets ready to sleep,
so she gets up to walk around her mother's house
in the middle of the insomnia, and shortly after hears
noises in the street, but doesn't get the much importance,
so she starts to meditate when Doris appears, who also
can't sleep, and so indiscreetly asks her for pills to
help her do so, insinuating that Jill is a drug addict,

(02:29):
but she replies that she no longer has them because
a judge forbade her. Then says goodbye to Matilda, who
sleeps peacefully while Noah cannot, and that's why he is
at the window watching which seem to be shooting stars,
but Jill tells him they are actually satellites. So she
goes to work on her bike and comes across a
party in the middle of the street where the man
who bought the pills from her is and now he's

(02:51):
offering double the money because many people want to buy
sleeping pills. Then she enters the police station, which is
dark and apparently empty, so she sets up out to
steal another bottle of pills, but shortly after she is
caught by Major Murphy, who arrives with other military personnel
and doesn't pay much attention to what Jill is doing
because her main concern is what's happening in the world.

(03:13):
According to what they tell her, the power outage occurred
everywhere and has caused no one to be able to sleep,
so they will create a research selter to find an answer. Later,
her friend Brian warns her that total chaos is coming
because after more than eighty hours without sleep, people's organs
will start to fail, and currently a woman is being

(03:33):
studied because she's the only one in the world who
can sleep. But Jill tells him that her daughter can
sleep too, and Brian questions whether she was really asleep
or had died, since with the power outage, the unconscious
state ceased to exist. Because of this, our protagonist rushes
back home to check on Matilda's condition, but when she arrives,
Noah tells her that her grandmother took her to church.

(03:56):
Then we see the pastor giving a sermon about the
girl who can sleep, but no one seems to believe him,
and because of this, he decides to talk to Matilda
to tell her that Jesus saved him from an overdose
and in the same way, people need a miracle to
move forward, and that miracle is that she can sleep,
so he asks her if she really can do it. Meanwhile,

(04:17):
Jill gathers her things, but before she can leave, Brian appears,
asking if it's true that Matilda was asleep, and when
she tries to pretend she was wrong, Noah confirms that
the girl can indeed sleep. That's why Brian insists on
taking her to the research center with Murphy and the
other woman who can also sleep, so she can be
part of the study, but Jill doesn't agree. Then we

(04:38):
see the pastor giving his sermon while Matilda sleeps in
front of the whole church, and at the same time, Jill, Brian,
and her son walk through the chaos in the city
until they find another dead police officer at the church.
Everything gets out of control because the believers demand to
sacrifice Matilda just like God did with Jesus to save
them all, and when Jill arrives for her. No one

(05:01):
allows it because they know custody belongs to Doris, who
does nothing about it. Then Brian shows up to tell
them the consequences of sleep deprivation and about the place
with scientists where they can study Matilda to find a solution,
but the parishioners refuse to do it, and when Brian
threatens them by saying he'll come with the army, a
police officer shoots him in the head, killing him. Most

(05:22):
people run away scared, and Jill asks Noah to go
into the forest while she looks for Matilda. Then our
protagonist finds his daughter, who had hidden on a higher floor,
and while trying to escape with her, Jonah takes the
address of the refuge with the scientists from Brian's corpse.
As they run through the forest, Noah convinces his mother
to take the girl to the center to look for
a cure, but first we see her continue the path

(05:45):
alone without knowing where she's going. She arrives at a
place and while exploring it, discovers that a friend of
hers was killed by some men who managed to start
the car their stealing. She takes advantage of the moment
to grab the keys of another vehicle without them noticing,
and waits for the men to leave before driving away.
Then she goes to look for her children and begins

(06:05):
a journey that lasts hours. When night falls, Matilda is
sleeping and on the road, they find a car blocking
the way under a bridge, so she decides to investigate
and takes the opportunity to steal a weapon from a
dying man. Later, they stop again to rest, and this
time Jill tells her son that she worked with Morphine,
a psychiatrist who is an expert on sleep and who

(06:26):
helped her in her rehabilitation, where she used sleep deprivation
as torture. Even though she tells him she killed several people,
the boy insists on going with her. The next morning,
they find a group of naked people who are just
watching the sunrise, and they continue on to a library
to look for a map book. While there, Jill talks
to Matilda about what to do when she's no longer around,

(06:48):
and tries to teach her how to shoot because she
might need it at some point, but the girl refuses
because she believes they'll find a cure. Then Jill goes
with Noah to try to read a map, but neither
of them can concentrate because they haven't slept in four days,
and we see Matilda sleeping in the car. When a
group of escaped convicts flee from prison, one of them
gets into Jill's car and quickly steals it with the

(07:10):
girl inside, but when she realizes it, it's already too late.
Then the other prisoners demand she abandoned Noah in exchange
for her freedom, but Jill fires a warning shot, not
knowing it was her last bullet, and when the thugs
come after her, the man who had taken the car
with Matilda to rescue her appears, and so we officially
meet Dodge, who escaped from prison because he was starving.

(07:32):
At first, we see that they don't trust each other,
until the prisoner discovers that the girl can sleep and
that taking her to the research center could save them. Meanwhile,
Jill prepares Matilda to be able to survive in case
she dies soon, and Dodge decides to take them north,
saying that supposedly it's also his path. That night, Jill
starts teaching the girl how to drive, and at one

(07:54):
point they come across a group of mobsters who have
some people kidnapped, and when they try to escape, these
mobsters begin and attacking them from all sides, but after
much effort, fighting and blood, they manage to move forward
in the car and escape from them. When they're about
to reach the center, Jill and the kids decide to
continue on foot, so they say goodbye to Dodge, who
leaves in the car. Before reaching the shelter, Jill tells

(08:17):
her daughter that she's going to make sure the center
is safe for her and that she should wait for
her with her brother in an abandoned house that has
enough food for a week. So she begins her journey
through the forest, hoping to return soon. Then she finds
some soldiers who inject themselves with something to survive the
lack of sleep, but she doesn't approach them. Instead, she
decides to follow them through a short cut. Upon arriving

(08:39):
at the center, Jill observes and listens from Afar and
memorizes the code to Adore in order to get inside.
Once there, she puts on a lab code to pretend
to be a doctor, and since everyone is very distracted
due to the lack of sleep, she manages to reach
the woman who can sleep. This lady looks weak, and
Jill tells her that she will get her out of
there so she can raise her daughter when everyone else dies,

(09:02):
But the woman tells her that she is very sick
and is the one who needs help. Just then, Murphy
appears and is surprised to see her, but Jill tells
him that Brian gave her the address. Then the psychiatrist
tells her that after six days of research, they still
don't have a cure, that probably no one is going
to survive all this, and she hugs her. Upon leaving

(09:22):
the center, Jill starts hearing a car approaching, which turns
out to be dodged with Noah and Matilda, so she
tries to go after her, but someone knocks her down.
Soon after, Matilda gets out of the car, crying to
confess that she can sleep. The next day, a doctor
tells Matilda that thanks to her, they might be able
to find a cure, and that they are experimenting on

(09:43):
a live chimpanzee that also can't sleep. Then Murphy greets
the girl and along with him, promises that they won't
hurt her before putting her to sleep with anesthesia. Later,
the doctor goes to talk to Jill who has been
locked up for eighteen hours, to ask about her daughter's
medical history, and there we find out that everything happening
is due to a solar flare that changed how the

(10:04):
human brain works. There, Jill asks her boss to only
run blood tests on her daughter, but Murphy leaves without
answering her. Shortly after, the woman who could sleep dies
along with Matilda, while Jill has a hallucination in which
Noah kills her for taking him to the center, but
the boy is actually being taken by a soldier to
be admitted. Hours later, we see that everything gets out

(10:27):
of control because due to the lack of sleep, the
soldiers start shooting, believing they are under attack, and thanks
to this, Jill manages to escape in the middle of
the chaos. When she arrives where her daughter is, she
discovers that Murphy wants to sacrifice her, so the doctor
offers the psychiatrist an injection of a cocktail to restore energy,
but he actually injects only air, which kills her. To

(10:50):
save Matilda, so Jill takes her and while escaping, they
see that Noah is shot, so Matilda goes looking for
a machine to revive him, but everything goes wrong because
when using it, both she and her mother receive an
electric shock. The next day, we see that the center
is full of corpses, including Dodge, who didn't survive the chaos.

(11:12):
Jill is found hugging her dead son when Matilda wakes
up and realizes that Noah is no longer there and
desperately approaches him, but discovers that he is still alive
and wakes him up. The boy says he was dreaming,
and while they hug, a guard appears intending to kill him,
but Jill manages to protect him and thus escapes alive.

(11:32):
Then we see our protagonist in very poor health, so
Noah seems to say goodbye to her, and at that moment,
Matilda realizes something. According to the girl, her brother died
and she brought him back with the machine and that's
why he could sleep, just like she died in the
lake accident, and the police revived her when rescuing her.
That's why the kids take their mother to the river

(11:54):
to drown her and then bring her back. But when
they take her out of the water, we see that
CPR is not working and everything goes dark. Then we
hear Jill react. More videos created for you on screen.
