Emily Feist (00:00):
Have you ever walked into a room and felt
instantly calmer, without reallyknowing why?
Maybe it was the soft lightingor the color of the walls, or
even the gentle background music?
You didn't stop to analyze it,but your body knew.
We talked about creating a calmcorner in episode 43, and that
incorporated subconscious cueslike creating the calm lighting

(00:24):
that's your subconscious at work, and today we're going to
connect those everydaysubconscious cues with something
I see as the ultimate hack forupgrading your mindset and
outlook Subliminal messages.
Not only will you learn whatthey are and how they can help
you, but we're also going toexperience one, and in this

(00:46):
episode, I'll share afive-minute sample of a
subliminal track so you can feelwhat it's like for yourself.
And if you want to keep goingwith this practice, I'll tell
you how you can access tracksdesigned to support your nervous
system inside my privateBioSync membership.

(01:06):
Welcome back to it Starts atVagus the podcast where we stop
chasing cone and start creatingit, one small shift at a time.
I'm your host, Emily, and I'myour guide to rewiring stress,
restoring peace and giving yournervous system the attention it
deserves.
Let's start simple.

(01:29):
A subconscious cue is somethingyou notice but don't really
analyze.
Think of the warm glow of acandlelight, the tempo of
background music in a coffeeshop or, in my case, the soft
blue walls in my massagepractice.
You see or hear it, but youdon't pause to think about it

(01:50):
and yet your mood shifts.
Subliminal messages aredifferent.
They're messages hidden undersound, designed to bypass your
conscious filter.
You hear nature sounds or asoft piano, but underneath your
subconscious mind is absorbingsupportive affirmations.
Now here's what subliminalmessages aren't.
They aren't mind control.

(02:12):
They're not sneaky tricks tomake you do something against
your will.
They're simply a way toreinforce the positive changes
you already want, without yourinner critic interrupting.
For example, many of us usepositive affirmations and that
practice is really good.
But sometimes our consciousmind goes really I don't know

(02:37):
about that, I'm not so sure andit starts fighting the
affirmation and there's conflictwithin yourself.
And with subliminal messages, only your subconscious mind can
hear the messages.
So your conscious mind doesn'tfight against you.
Our brains act like bouncers ata busy club.

(02:59):
Only certain thoughts get pastthe velvet rope.
But with subliminal messagesthey don't even bother the
bouncer, they slip right in andstart planting seeds of calm,
confidence or focus.
This is why they pair sobeautifully with habits that you
may already be practicing, forexample, the positive

(03:21):
affirmations.
Subliminals help them sink inwithout that resistance and with
our vagus nerve practices likehumming breathing or slowing
down throughout the day, yourbody relaxes, while subliminal
messages reinforce supportivethoughts in the background.

(03:42):
It's like tending to a garden.
Your daily habits are thesunlight and water, but the
subliminal messages, they'renutrient-rich soils working
quietly underneath the surface.
For me, subliminal tracks arethe ultimate mindset hack.
They don't replace yourroutines, they amplify them.

(04:04):
They help you get out of yourown way, soften the inner critic
and keep your subconscious onthe same team as your conscious
goals.
And here's the key For bestresults.
Subliminals need consistency,need consistency.

(04:29):
Listening once or twice a dayfor at least 21 to 30 days is
much more powerful than cramminga bunch of listens into one day
.
Think of it like brushing yourteeth it's that daily rhythm
that makes the difference.
Before we dive into the samplesubliminal that I've made for
you, let's do a quick nervoussystem reset together.
Take in a slow breath throughyour nose, hold for three and

(04:53):
exhale through your mouth Again.
Inhale some calm and exhaletension.
That's all it takes to signalto your body that I'm safe and I
can relax, and this is theperfect state to listen to a
subliminal track.
Now here's a five-minutesubliminal designed to help you

(05:17):
reset and release tension.
All you'll consciously hear iscalming background sounds, but
underneath are affirmations likeI am calm, my body knows how to
reset, I am safe and supported, and all of these statements are

(05:38):
located in the show notes soyou can see exactly what I'm
saying that is underneath thebackground sounds.
Now you don't need to doanything.
You can close your eyes, youcan rest or even just let it
play in the background while yougo on about your day.
No-transcript.

(09:06):
So Thank you, thank you, thankyou, welcome back.

(11:32):
How do you feel?
Sometimes the shift is subtleat first, almost like your
nervous system sighs with relief.
Like I said earlier, the realmagic comes with consistency.
The more often you listen, themore your subconscious mind
starts to naturally align withcalm.

(11:54):
Subconscious mind starts tonaturally align with calm,
resilience and clarity.
Today, we explore thedifference between subconscious
cues and subliminal messages.
You learned how cues gentlyguide your mood and how
subliminals slip past the innercritic to reinforce your goals.
You got toexperience it for yourself and

(12:16):
we talked about how consistencyonce or twice a day for 21 to 30
days is the real key to lastingchange.
