Speaker 1 (01:31):
Hey everybody, and welcome.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
You know, it's it's cold out here right now where
I am in Charleston, South Carolina.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
It is about I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Thirty three thirty four degrees, and we've about talked about Jacksonville, Florida. No,
that's not that much further south, but it's far enough
south that I guarantee it's a little bit warmer and
it's going to be really nice the next four or
five days. So I'm thinking maybe we should all just
go ahead and make those reservations now head on down
to Jacksonville, Florida, because that's what we've been doing. We've
been talking all about Jacksonville, all right, So we have,
(02:05):
I believe, accomplished much about making our plans to go
to Jacksonville, with our reservations, our bookings, how to get there,
the best times to go, the way used to get
around down there, the accommodations. You know, we we've hit
on most all of it. So it's getting ready, you know,
to go Springs around the corner. We need to start
(02:27):
making those reservations for real, and go ahead and get
ourselves down to Jacksonville, because it's such a great place
to go. But I was thinking the past couple of
days that I want to go back to the beginning
of these podcasts and kind of go over, refocus, recharge,
(02:47):
and see exactly what my mission statement was when I
started these and make sure that we're on task. So
what's what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna take some
bits and pieces of that first podcast just to make
sure to remind everybody what the meaning of this whole
thing is. And at the end, I've got a special
little list, not much of a list, guy, but a

(08:22):
do three months ago, and we're well in our way.
I think, you know, when I went back and reread
this a couple of days ago, I thought, you know,
we need we need to get a little more detail
about certain restaurants and about certain hotels, just some things
like that, because I think we've hit the broad We've
(08:43):
hit you know, the aspect of Jacksonville. So I think
that now we're going to get into a little bit
more specifics and I kind of want to start that
with my top ten lists of hotels luxurious hotels.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
In Jacksonville.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
So I let's start with one number one, Let's start
with number ten, and let's go back and that way.
When I get to number one, I can have a
little drum roll. Okay, So Number ten the Double Tree
by Hilton, It's hotel in Jacksonville Riverfront. This hotel features
(09:23):
contemporary rooms with river views and riverfront and on site dining,
all in central location. So everybody knows that I'm a
Hilton guy, and I know that this one will not disappoint.
It's definitely worth the stay, and it is for a
luxury hotel. It is uh It's price right. Number nine
(09:45):
Sawgrass Marriotte Golf Resort and Spa. Located in Pontevedra.
Speaker 1 (09:52):
Beach.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
This resort offers access to TPC Sawgrass golf courses, multiple pools,
a spa, a diverse down experience. You know, if it's
in Ponto Vidre, it's nice. Just look at it that way.
The Hyatt Regency at Jacksonville Riverfront, overlooking the Saint John's River.
This hotel provides a modern luxury with spacious rooms, rooftop
(10:15):
pool and multiple dining options. This is this is a
very nice hotel. You can see it from the interstate
when you're going down ninety five. Number seven Marriott Jacksonville Downtown.
Situated in the heart of downtown, this hotel offers upscale
accommodations with stunning city views, a rooftop pool and on
(10:39):
site dining. Super super nice, a great Marriotte, easy to
get too, easy.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
In and out.
Speaker 2 (10:47):
Number six case of Monaco resort and spa located in
historic Saint Augustine. This eighteen eighty eight that's older than me,
my friend Landmark hotel features ornate Spanish art architecture, luxurious rooms,
a full service spa, and fine dining, and Saint Augustine
is one cool little place. Number five Omni Amelia Island Resort,
(11:12):
a vast resort offering ocean front accommodations, three point five
miles of secluded beach, world class pools, championship golf courses,
and a variety of dining options. Okay, so this is
on Amelia Island, which is just south of just south
of Jacksonville or just just north of Jacksonville. Super place
(11:36):
Fernandandino Beach is right there because a cool old town too,
So this is really neat. I have not been to
the Omni, but number four, the rich Carlton Amelia Island
have been to many times and it is absolutely one
of my favorite places to go period. So situated on
(11:59):
a island, This luxury resort provides ocean front rooms, a spa,
multiple dining venues, a eighteen hole championship golf course. They've
just redone the entire pool and bar area outside. It
looks amazing. Really a great place to stay and it's
it's family friendly as well. Great great restaurants on site.
(12:23):
Number three the Lodge and Club at Point at Pontavidra Beach.
This seaside resort offers Mediterranean inspired architectural, upscale rooms with
ocean views, access to golf courses, tennis courts, and fine
dining experiences. Number two Pontavidra In and Club now necessarily
(12:45):
like a swanky place, a historic resort and Pontavidra Beach
featuring luxurious accommodations, two championship golf courses, a world class spa,
and multiple dining options. You cannot go wrong with that place, Okay,
And coming in at number one Ocean One Ocean Resort
(13:07):
and Spa located in Atlantic Beach, This ocean front resort
offers elegant rooms with panoram views and a full service
spa and fine dining at Azuria Restaurant. I haven't stayed there,
but that's if it's let me put it this way,
if it's nicer than number four, three and two, it
(13:29):
has got to be absolutely amazing because I've been to
the others, so you know, go check those out. So
that was just kind of a little update about where
we are, and I think you know where we're going.
We're going to finish out this podcast series probably in
the next month and getting a little more detail so
you can actually start making those get down to the
(13:51):
point of making those restaurant reservations. How about that, because
that's one of my favorite things to do, is talk
about the upscale dining, the restaurants in d Tail and
I'll put some links out there for you so you
can actually go straight to the restaurants and make your reservations.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
All right, Well that's what I got for you today.
