When the king hosts a royal ball to find a bride for his son, Cinderella longs to go but is forbidden. With the magical help of her mother's spirit and a tree she planted on her grave, she appears at the ball in a beautiful gown. She captivates the prince but must flee each night before being recognized.
On the final night, she loses a golden slipper. The prince searches the kingdom, and only Cinderella's foot fits the tiny shoe. They marry, and Cinderella forgives her stepsisters, though in the Grimm version, they are punished for their cruelty.
The story highlights kindness, resilience, and the triumph of goodness over jealousy and hardship.
