Cassidy gripped the steering wheel tighter after hearing Jacob refer to her as ma’am. She clenched her teeth, seething with frustration toward him as she sped a little faster down Main Street. The station was not far away, but with the constant construction going on, she knew it would take longer to get there than she’d like. Her face reddened and her palms...

Jacob stood completely still, not daring to move even an inch. He knew he had meant what he just said, but a small tingling of fear was now starting to grow inside of him.
