Anonymity is synonymous with the name of Martin Margiela
In this episode, We're looking at his statements from (1994) before he stopped commenting, and from the moment he broke his silence in the documentary Martin Margiela: In his Own Words (2019).
The documentary answered a lot of questions, we all had in understanding the reasons for his anonymity. The focus was always the clothes.
As we’re growing more aware of the side effects of our Dopamine Culture, The science of ( More > enough), Maybe Margiela is an interesting example of Sustainability. Both in the emotional and material sense of the word.
Margiela has had a radical way of prioritizing sustainability, (maybe without noticing) In the way he chooses existing materials to give new life to an old style, but also in the natural necessity of protecting his own mind.
Since he quit Fashion in 2008, We have steadily increased the demands on creatives in the industry. This episode is focused on displaying a role model of anonymity & the digital boundaries we all should have.
Please feel free to comment, critique or promote different angles. I can't wait to hear your thoughts.
