In today's episode I chat with local artist, Michael Clark. Michael is an award-winning impressionist painter with a studio right in the heart of downtown Salida CO on F Street.
Michael and I go way back—I had the pleasure of helping him and his partner Molly find their home in Salida back in May 2020. We reminisce about looking at homes during the height of the pandemic, complete with masks and disinfectant wipes. Such a crazy time.
In this episode, we’ll dive into Michael’s journey opening up a studio in downtown Salida and his positive experience in the art community here. We’ll chat about his favorite spots to paint around Salida, his well-known impressionist aspen paintings that you often see in local homes, and his impressive art career.
Michael will also share his thoughts on the Salida Creative District—Colorado’s first state-designated Creative District, which highlights our town’s significant contributions to creativity, culture, and the arts. He’ll give us a glimpse into what it’s like to own a studio in this thriving district, the support he receives from the community, and the various art events he’s involved with, such as Art Walk.
If you’re thinking about diving into the art scene here in Salida or even opening a studio of your own, Michael’s insights will be invaluable.
Thanks for tuning in!
