SHOW NOTES:

EPISODE SUMMARY: In this episode, I share an excerpt from Step Five of my new book, Living Perfectly Loved. Jesus gave His life so that all might be saved and live free from anything that would try to keep them in bondage. He took the punishment that causes fear so that we would no longer need to be afraid. Why then, as believers, are many of us crawling through this life on our bellies unable to rise above our fears? Is it possible that we’ve failed to see Jesus for who He really is—our Chain Breaker? When it comes to anxiety and fear, the bottom line is this: without Jesus, there is reason to fear. However, when they have been washed in His blood, clothed in His righteousness, and covered by His perfect love, there is nothing left to fear! You can believe, without doubting, that Jesus has the power to free you. In His power, you can rise up from the ashes of defeat, shake loose your chains, straighten your crown, and begin to confidently walk out your victory over fear God has promised!

If you haven't yet listened tomy podcast trailer, I'd like to
invite you to do so afterlistening to this episode.
All right, let's get started! The following is an excerpt from
step five of my book, LivingPerfectly Loved, titled,

(02:17):
Believe, Jesus is Your ChainBreaker.
Surrender and breakthrough gohand in hand.
First we surrender.
Then we experiencedbreakthrough.
But what if you've gone throughall the steps, surrendered,
everything you can think of andyet true freedom feels just out
of reach.
I know this struggle feelsoverwhelming and you've been

(02:40):
fighting the good fight.
You feel the chains ofoppression, refusing to shake
loose and the hope you've beentrying to hold on to slowly
slipping away.
At this point, you've probablystarted to wonder, where is God
in all this?
Fortunately God gave us a storyof Paul and Silas in prison to
help us understand how to remainjoyful in hope, patient in

(03:03):
affliction, and faithful inprayer in the midst of our
trials and suffering.
See Romans 12 verse 12.
In acts 16, verse 16 through 40,we read that these two disciples
had just been severely beatenfor testifying about Jesus,
thrown into prison, and lockedup in chains.

(03:24):
I imagine that the prisonenvironment would have promoted
hopelessness and despair.
Dark, dank, with the sound ofclinking chains and groaning
from fellow inmates.
How is it that Paul and Silasnever gave up on God?
Unlike their fellow inmates,Paul and Silas were not without
hope.
They trusted God had a plan.

(03:46):
Rather than give up, they beganto sing.
Rather than worry about theirfuture or look to their chains
in despair, Paul and Silas kepttheir eyes on God.
They didn't sit it in their jailcell panicking, complaining, or
worrying.
They didn't dwell on the painthey felt or considered the
horrible way they had beentreated.

(04:07):
In their time of bondage, theychose to rise above their
circumstances, and believe thatGod was still with them and for
them.
As a result in a place withouthope, they became a source of
hope and encouragement toothers.
In their worship to the Lord, they gave their fellow prisoners
the courage to believe that theytoo had a Savior who loved them.

(04:30):
The story doesn't end there.
Paul and Silas were stillsinging songs of praise to God
with the other prisonerslistening in when something
miraculous happened.
"Suddenly there was such aviolent earthquake that the
foundations of the prison wereshaken.
At once all the prison doorsflew open and everyone's chains

(04:51):
came loose," Acts 16, verse 26.
Wow, how great is our God! Pauland Silas trusted in the
faithfulness of Jesus, theirSavior to break through their
chains, and their faithdemonstrated through praise,
opened the door for God to worka miracle in their midst.
They got their breakthrough.

(05:13):
As we can clearly see from thisstory, there is power in our
praise to usher in the presenceof our Lord.
What is praise, but an outwardexpression of our belief in
Jesus Christ?
By declaring our faith in Jesusto save us, through praise, I am
confident we will see heaven invade earth and God move in power

(05:35):
on our behalf.
God always works in ways thatwill bring about the greatest
good.
Not only did God deliver Pauland Silas and all the other
prisoners from prison, but Heallowed His breakthrough miracle
power to have a ripple effect.
The story continues.
"The jailer woke up, and when hesaw the prison doors open.

(05:57):
He drew his sword and was aboutto kill himself because he
thought the prisoners hadescaped.
But Paul shouted,'Don't harmyourself.
We are all here.' The jailercalled for the lights, rushed
in, and fell trembling beforePaul and Silas.
He then brought them out andasked,'Sirs, what must I do to
be saved?' They replied,'Believein the Lord Jesus, and you will

(06:22):
be saved, you and yourhousehold.' Then they spoke the
word of the Lord to him and toall the others in the house.
At that hour of the night, thejailer took them and washed
their wounds.
Then immediately him and hishousehold were baptized," Acts
16 verse 27 through 33.

(06:42):
Incredible.
When the jailer saw all theprisoner's cell doors open wide
and their chains broken off, hemust have believed his worst
fears were coming true.
He was responsible for keepingprisoners.
If they had all escaped, hewould be held accountable,
likely paying for his error withhis own life.

(07:04):
With their chains broken off andtheir cell doors flung wide
open, Paul and Silas couldeasily have made their escape
without a moment's delay.
Who would blame them forhightailing it out of there.
Rather than leave when they hadthe chance.
However, I believe theyrecognize that true freedom is
found in Jesus Christ alone.
Even in chains, Paul and Silaswere free.

(07:27):
They must have discerned, however, that the jailer was
not.
The jailer, though physicallyunbound, was nonetheless a
captive to fear.
That night, Paul and Silas werecalled to extend the love of
Jesus to the jailer so he couldbe set free from his fear of
death, and he and his householdsaved for eternity.

(07:50):
All that was required for theirdeliverance was that they
believe in the Lord Jesus, according to verse 31.
This was his breakthroughmoment.
The moment God had ordained forhim from before the world began
to come to the knowledge andtruth of Jesus Christ.
The veil was removed from hiseyes, and for the first time he

understood the love of Jesus: the earth shaking, chain (08:11):
undefined
breaking, power of His perfectlove.
Praise the Lord! What if Pauland Silas had left prison, the
moment their chains came off andthe doors opened?
They would have missed theopportunity for God to use them
to help save the jailer and hisfamily.

(08:33):
How devastating that could havebeen.
Like Paul and Silas, we are alsocalled to submit to God's
perfect timing so that thegreatest good can be
accomplished in and through us.
Jesus came to set the jailerfree from his bondage to fear,
and He will set you free too.
Jesus has already gone beforeyou and cleared the path paved

(08:55):
for your deliverance fromanxiety and fear.
The Bible confirms this saying,"Since the children have flesh
and blood, he too shared intheir humanity, so that by his
death he might break the powerof him who holds the power of
death, that is the devil, andfree those who all their lives
were held in slavery by theirfear of death.

(09:18):
Hebrews two verses 14 through15.
If Jesus gave his life so thatall might be saved and live free
from anything that would try tokeep them in bondage, then you
need only believe in Him toreceive your deliverance.
While I don't know when or howyour breakthrough will come, I
do know God's promise is that Hewill bring you out of the

(09:41):
darkness and break away yourchains, Psalm 1 0 7 verse 14.
God has not abandoned you.
In His perfect timing, Jesus, our chain breaker, will break
through every chain ofoppression holding you in
bondage to anxiety and fear sothat you may live in freedom and
rejoice in Him, if only youbelieve.

(10:03):
The Holy Spirit will bringclarity, revealing to you any
unrepented sin in your life orblocks to healing and
deliverance.
A small adjustment in yourthinking could be all you need
to finally recognize whereyou've allowed yourself to be
led astray, if that is somethingthat applies to you.
If you need help with this, youcan refer to this episode's show

(10:26):
notes where I've provided thelink to a resource that has
worked wonders in my own lifewhen it comes to praying and
declaring freedom for my owndeliverance.
It's called,"A Biblical Guide toSpiritual Deliverance." Check it
out! Don't let your strugglewith anxiety and fear continue
to control you or keep you inbondage.

(10:46):
Start praising Jesus for who Heis, your chain breaker.
Praise Him for the breakthroughHe already has planned for you
and the future He has preparedfor you.
Believe without doubting that Hehas the power to rescue you and
that is what He intends to do.
Child of God, His grace is foryou.

(11:07):
Psalm 1 0 7 verses 10 through16, gives us hope for the
breakthrough we're longing for.
It says,"Some sat in darkness,in utter darkness, prisoners
suffering in iron chains becausethey rebelled against God's
commands and despised the plansthe Most High.
So he subjected them to bitterlabor.

(11:30):
They stumbled and there was noone to help.
Then they cried to the Lord intheir trouble and he saved them
from their distress.
He brought them out of thedarkness, the utter darkness,
and broke away their chains.
Let them give thanks to the Lordfor his unfailing love and his
wonderful deeds for mankind, forhe breaks down gates of bronze

(11:53):
and cuts through bars of iron."Let's pray.
Heavenly father, thank You forYour amazing grace.
Thank You for sending Your SonJesus to pay the penalty for my
sin and to make a way for myfreedom from anxiety and fear.
I confess that I have allowedfear to control my thoughts and

(12:13):
actions and I ask for Yourforgiveness.
I declare that you are Lord ofmy life and I choose now to put
my faith in You alone.
Deliver me from oppression.
Rescue me from my affliction.
Save me from my sin.
You are my strong deliver.
You are my help and my healer.

(12:35):
You are my God.
You're perfect love casts outall my fear.
In you, I will overcome.
Lord Jesus, go before me andbreak open the way.
Break every chain.
In the mighty name of Jesus andby the power of His blood I
pray, Amen.
Thanks for listening to thisepisode of the Living Perfectly

(12:58):
Loved podcast.
While it's true that God is loveand we are perfectly loved by
Him, we all struggle at times tolive like this true.
While we should strive to growin Christ likeness, we can rest
in knowing God loves us becauseof who He is, not because of who
we are or anything we could everdo for Him.

(13:20):
In Jesus Christ, we are enough!Remember, you don't have to be
perfect to live perfectly loved.
You have always been and willalways be a completely forgiven,
fully accepted, deeply loved, daughter the King.
Beautiful friend, His grace isfor you.
