“Because the female body is so, so sensitive to stress, especially in perimenopause and menopause, we need to support it the right way, not only during the fast, but before the fast. And that means supporting your body with the correct amount of protein, the correct amount of nutrients. And then during the fast, I actually encourage small snacks throughout the day because there's research out there that shows that as long as we keep our calories less than 500 and we're still getting all the benefits of the intermittent fasting, but we're keeping our blood sugar stable because as you know, when our blood sugar crashes, our cortisol goes up and we don't want that.
