In a heartbreaking turn of events, a driver, Kamal Ghali, who tragically killed a three-year-old girl, Mila Wang, after running a red light, could be released from prison in just over a year. Ghali was sentenced to two years and six months for dangerous driving causing death, with parole eligibility after fifteen months. The incident occurred in Melbournes Endeavour Hills, where Mila was struck by Ghalis car while crossing with her family. Despite calling his father instead of emergency services, Ghali was deemed an otherwise safe driver who failed to pay proper attention. The judge considered Ghalis age, lack of prior offenses, and strong rehabilitation prospects in his decision, but no sentence can reflect the value of Milas life.
