Ever wondered why some prayers seem to go unanswered? The K-verse "Knock and the door will be open for you" from Matthew 7:7 might hold the key.

This episode unpacks the powerful trilogy found in this scripture: ask, seek, and knock. These aren't just random spiritual activities but a progressive journey deeper into faith. While asking initiates the conversation with God and seeking demonstrates our commitment, knocking represents the boldest step—taking action aligned with our prayers.

The humorous but profound illustration of escalating from gentle knocking to "kicking down doors" in "The Name of Jesus!" perfectly captures how persistence and determination work in our spiritual lives.

But perhaps the most enlightening moment comes through a Hispanic father-in-law's (Mi Suegro) wisdom shared in a Spanish-speaking church. When men were praying for jobs, he whispered, "The first thing you need is an application"—a perfect reminder that faith without works remains incomplete.

This principle applies universally to every area of life: relationships, career, health, and spiritual growth. As the episode beautifully summarizes: "You do what you can do, then you've got to let God do what only God can do." This balanced approach acknowledges both our responsibility and God's sovereignty.

The original song featured reinforces these divine promises—that when we ask, seek, and knock with sincere hearts, God faithfully responds. What door are you hesitating to approach today? Remember, sometimes the breakthrough comes only after you take that step of faith and knock.

• The trilogy of spiritual action: ask, seek, and knock from Matthew 7:7
• Sometimes prayer requires following through with action ("kicking down the door")
• A humorous but profound story about praying for a job without sending applications
• The balanced approach: "Do what you can do, then let God do what only God can do"

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Family Bible Memory.
This is Ken Mercer, and todayis the K-verse Knock and the
door will be open for you.
Matthew 7, 7.
Please repeat with me Again thekey word is knock.
K-verse Knock and the door willbe open for you.

(00:22):
Matthew 7, 7.
And the door will be open foryou, matthew 7, 7.
Now, when you study all ofMatthew 7, 7, there's a trilogy,
three things involved.
It talks about ask and ye shallreceive, seek and ye will find,
and knock and the door will beopen for you.
All three things seem to cometogether.
Sometimes it's just ask, and ithappens.

(00:44):
You ask and you seek, andsometimes it might require a
third step, an action on yourpart.
If you're like me, sometimesyou pray for an answer and you
seek an answer and then there'sa door there that God wants you
to open and you come and youkind of gently knock on the door
, and then maybe you kind ofpound on the door and then maybe

(01:08):
, if you're like me, you startkicking the door down and saying
, in the name of Jesus, ouractions and our words come
together.
I'm from the South.
We talk about.
Do you walk what you talk?
Walk me in your actions.
Do your actions meet your words.
I'll give you the best example Iknow of this is my
father-in-law.
He's Puerto Rican, I call himmi suegro, my father-in-law, and

(01:29):
we were once in a Spanishspeaking church and two men had
gotten up and they were prayingfor a job, which was great,
wonderful.
But then he leaned over and hemade me laugh.
He spoke in my ear.
He said la primera cosa, thefirst thing, you need to have
una aplicación, you need to putin an application.
And I just laughed and I'm notsure what the situation, what he

(01:51):
knew, but he was concerned thatyou're praying about it.
But where's your action?
Where's the door you'reknocking on?
Sometimes in life you do whatyou can do, then you've got to
let God do what only God can do.
Let me say that again you dowhat you can do and then you've
got to let go and let God dowhat only God can do.

(02:14):
It kind of works together youask, you seek and you knock.
Here's a song I put togethermany years ago.
It just simply says first askand ye shall receive.
Then seek and ye shall find, then you can knock and that door

(02:36):
, it will be open for you.
These are the promises of ourGod.
I said just ask and ye shallreceive.
Then seek and ye will find.
Then you can knock and thatdoor it will be open for you.

(02:59):
These are the promises, suchare the promises, such are the
promises, these are the promisesof our God.
K verse knock and the door willbe open for you.
Matthew 7, 7.
Thank you, my friends.

(03:20):
God bless you.
