What if everything you thought you knew about slavery's abolition was incomplete?

Ken Mercer challenges conventional historical narratives in this thought-provoking episode introducing his book "Slavery 101: The True, Untold History of How New Christians of the "Great Awakening " ABOLISHED Human Slavery."

Mercer transports listeners to 1776, establishing crucial historical context often missing from modern discussions. By then,

  • Human Slavery had existed for over 8,000 years
  • No nation had yet abolished Slavery, and
  • complex networks facilitated the slave trade, including the uncomfortable truth that 95% of enslaved Africans were originally captured and sold by other African tribes.

The Arab Muslim Slave Trade had operated for a millennium BEFORE America's 1776 founding - facts rarely emphasized in contemporary education.

Against this backdrop, Mercer highlights how Christian converts during the "Great Awakening" made an extraordinary moral stand.

Despite slavery's ancient roots and universal acceptance, these believers declared it sinful and launched a revolutionary movement that would transform global attitudes toward human bondage.

The book promises to reveal the progression of abolition by Christians of the "Great Awakening" through:

  • America's founding documents,
  • the Emancipation Proclamation, and
  • three Constitutional Amendments

While also exposing how several nations continued practicing slavery nearly a century after America's Civil War - even as United Nations members.

was an Emancipation Proclamation, there was a 13th, 14th and
15th Amendment to ourConstitution and finally you
learn about the last fournations in the world to finally
abolish human slavery.
And sadly, these four countries, they didn't do it until almost

(02:09):
100 years after the AmericanCivil War.
They were already members ofthe United Nations and they had
still failed, failed to abolishhuman slavery.
Slavery 101, the untold, truehistory of how new Christians of
