Federal agents launched a pre-dawn raid Friday on a Huntington Park home, detonating an explosive to force entry as a woman and her two young children huddled inside.
The target? Jenny Ramirez’s boyfriend, Jorge Sierra-Hernandez — who wasn't even there.
Surveillance footage shows agents securing an explosive device to the front door and window before detonating it, shattering glass and sending Ramirez scrambling to protect her 1-year-old and 6-year-old. “You didn’t have to do this,” she told agents. “You scared my son, my baby, and myself.”
Ramirez says everyone in the house is a U.S. citizen. CBP says Sierra-Hernandez is wanted for allegedly ramming a Jeep into a federal vehicle during a previous encounter. He was not injured and was told at the time he could leave, but later CBP claimed agents were assaulted and vowed legal consequences.
The raid is part of a growing wave of aggressive immigration enforcement actions in Southern California, fueled by the Trump administration’s pledge to deport millions. “We were on the floor in the hallway. It was horrible,” Ramirez said.
