Kat (00:00):
One year ago, I launched
this podcast on my 42nd birthday
with a disclaimer, a shakyvoice, and a deep desire to stop
undervaluing myself.
This week as I step into my 43rdyear, I'm reflecting on what it
means to begin again, to stopcomparing, to trust your voice,
(00:21):
and to make bold moves even whenyou're unsure.
This episode is raw, honest, anddeeply personal.
It's not just about my story.
It's about yours too.
Because you're allowed to be abeginner.
You're allowed to not have itall figured out, and you're
always worth investing in.
Tune in to hear my journey fromnot ready to, I'm showing up
(00:42):
anyway is the real magic.
To begin.

(01:26):
run, driving your kids topractice or squeezing in a
moment for yourself, I'm righthere in the trenches with you.
Let's dive in.
This week's episode is a littlebit different, so welcome to
MilesFromHerView.
I'm Kat, your host, and if youare, have been a long time
listener.
You probably have a good ideawho I am.
(01:47):
If you are new and tuning in,welcome.
I am super excited to have youhere.
And this, like I said, episodeis gonna be a little bit
different than a normal episode.
It's the one year anniversary oflaunching the podcast, and I
wanna share with you some deep, real, raw experiences so there's
no guest,, expert today.
No quick tips, just me.
(02:09):
One mic, one message.
So a year ago today, I releasedthe first episode of this
podcast on my 42nd birthday.
I had no idea what I was doingso much, so I started every
episode with a disclaimer, noflashy quote, no polished
opener, just a little statementstating, I don't have it figured
(02:34):
out, but I'm learning, andbasically I'm gonna show up
anyway.
That moment.
It was more than just a podcastintro.
It was a promise to myself, tothe women I serve, to the
version of me that I had beenundervaluing, you know, for
years.
That disclaimer.
(02:55):
It was vulnerability.
It set the tone for everythingthat followed because we don't
talk enough about what it meansto begin again, to be a learner,
to be a woman who says, I don'tknow how yet, but I'm willing to
try.
And honestly, that's how a lotof my clients feel when they
(03:16):
come to me.
They're strong, smart, andcapable, but when it comes to
their bodies, their movement, their energy, they've been
taught, they're supposed toalready know that.
They should already have it allfigured out.
But here's the truth.
You're allowed to be a beginner.
(03:36):
You're allowed to not know whatto do in the gym.
You're allowed to be unsure.
Still be worthy of support andyou don't have to earn that
support by being perfect, justlike I didn't need to earn the A
platform before being perfectlypolished.
(04:00):
Now, here's the thing.
I have been doing this a longtime.
I have been in the industry fortwo decades in the fitness world
and coaching world.
I worked with athletes.
I coach college, track and fieldbuilt programs from the ground
up.
I've trained women throughpregnancy, postpartum, and
perimenopause.
I've studied anatomy, movement, breath, mindset, performance.
(04:24):
I'm an ultra marathon runner, astrength coach, a business
owner, a mom of two boys, butmore than that.
I am a woman who is stillevolving, still learning, and
still stepping into her voice.
And the reason I share both mycredentials and my mess is
because you deserve to, to knowthat you don't have to choose
(04:46):
between being knowledgeable andbeing real.
You can be both and you alreadyare.
So as I step into my 43rd yearof life, I've made a decision to
be bolder, to value myself morefully, to stop shrinking in
rooms I belong in.
To own my voice matters, notafter I edited myself into
(05:10):
perfection.
But as I am now, because I amworth investing in, and so are
you.
This podcast was never aboutpopularity or algorithms.
It's about truth, about clearingthe air because there are too
many programs, products, andpolished marketing schemes out
there that prey on women, especially mothers, keeping them
(05:32):
small, quiet, overworked, andguilt-ridden.
You don't need anotherdistraction.
You need to come home toyourself.
To the woman behind the titleand that that's.
What my work is all about.
When a woman walks into one ofmy programs, she's not just
another client.
(05:53):
She's not just a mom looking toget her body back.
She is a full human withhistory, habits, heartbreak, and
hope.
And my job is to meet her whereshe is without shame to see her
before any progress photos.
Which we do not take in myprograms to listen to coach from
(06:17):
a place of respect and notrestriction because the real
goal isn't six pack abs or beinggood every day.
The real goal.
Is to live more fully, to movewithout pain, to eat without
guilt, to feel stronger, notjust physically, but
emotionally, mentally, andspiritually.
(06:39):
So here is what I want you toknow as we celebrate this one
year milestone.
You don't need to have it allfigured out.
You don't need to earnworthiness.
You don't need to compare yourchapter one to somebody else's
Chapter 20.
You are allowed to begin againin your fitness, in your
(07:01):
mindset, in your story, andespecially in how you value
yourself this next year.
For me, it's about bolder movesdeeper conversations and more
impact, and I want that for youtoo.
So take a deep breath, let go ofthe shame.
Let go of the distractions andask yourself, what would it feel
(07:26):
like to finally invest in you?
Not the perfectly curatedversion, but the real evolving,
powerful woman behind thescenes, because she's always
been enough and she's justgetting started.
Thank you for being here withme.
