Ever wonder what happens to reality stars after the cameras stop rolling? Peter Madrigal shows us exactly how to parlay 15 minutes of fame into a lasting career with substance and vision.

After ten seasons as the steady, responsible face of Vanderpump Rules, Peter has transformed from SUR restaurant manager to CEO and founder of The Reality Network. With characteristic Gemini energy and entrepreneurial drive, he's building a media platform that's already home to shows like "Catching Cheaters," "Gown and Out in Beverly Hills," and "Hair Cult," with more original content on the way.

What makes Peter's story compelling isn't just his business acumen—it's his perspective on why some reality personalities thrive while others crash and burn. "I've always had my head on my shoulders," he explains, a quality that's allowed him to maintain strong relationships with industry players like Lisa Vanderpump while pursuing ambitious new ventures. His insights on what makes compelling reality TV—authentic relationships between cast members who genuinely know each other—reveal why the original Vanderpump Rules cast created "pop culture history" that new iterations struggle to replicate.

Beyond the business talk, Peter shares entertaining behind-the-scenes stories from his years at SUR, from celebrity encounters with Selena Gomez to Lisa Vanderpump convincing him to break his "dry month" for a tequila shot. He's refreshingly candid about former castmates (especially during our "Sip or Spill" game), while maintaining the diplomatic touch that's made him a reality TV survivor.

Tune in for a masterclass in career longevity from someone who's seen it all in the reality TV world and is now writing his own rules for success. Follow Peter's journey on Instagram @peter_madrigal and check out The Reality Network on Roku or at https://www.realitynetwork.tv/.

ingredients you need for perfecttea.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
I'm kayla becker, I'm vanessa curry and today's
episode is hotter than theespresso machine at Sir on a
Friday night.
Clever, see what you did theretoday.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
She said that because today we are joined by the
Peter Magical of VanderpumpRules, also longtime restaurant
manager and now the owner andCEO of the Reality Network.
But before we bring him on, wedo want to talk about a few life
updates with me and Vanessa.
And I know Vanessa, you've knowVanessa, I don't know any life
updates of mine other than justgetting the show off the ground.
I feel like that's been myentire life for the last few

(00:51):
months.
But you've had some coolprojects you've been working on.

Speaker 2 (00:54):
It has been.
It does feel like that.
We do nothing but talk to eachother about the show, which I
love, obviously.
But yes, I actually shot a film, a feature film, last I don't
know Friday or a couple days ago, let's just put it that way and
it was awesome.
My character was it's calledthe Lake House.
I'm like, let me just talkabout it, hold on, let me back

(01:16):
up for a second.
I shot a feature film calledthe Lake House.
It is produced, written, alsoacted, by brian hooks and, uh,
my character was super fun.
Can you give us a little?

Speaker 1 (01:29):
like, taste of what your character like, like.
Give me that, that charactershe oh like the actual I want
you to act like be her to me fora second um, okay, so my
character, sophie, just likereally wants to get married.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Okay, so, if so, if she's going to get broken up
with, like you can't break upwith me because we have a
wedding, we planned a wedding.
Okay, like the.
The invitations are out, thesponsors are out, so high
maintenance, right, you knowwhat I mean.
She's high maintenance, she'soblivious to anything.
But also the audience isprobably going to wonder is she
oblivious or does she just notcare and all she really cares

(02:04):
about?

Speaker 1 (02:05):
is like herself and the wedding.
Is there any part of uh sophiethat you felt is a little
vanessa?
Absolutely I.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
I want to say no because, like duh, I'm not
oblivious or like any of that, but no, there's definitely.
Uh, sophie is definitely insideof me and well you know what I
mean I'm sweating.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
We are 12 year old children, sometimes like teenage
boys.
Well, I can't wait to watchthis.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Do you?

Speaker 1 (02:37):
have any idea when it's coming out.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Or we never know.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
I know the movie a year ago and I still have no
information on when it's comingout, so we never know, but it
was.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
It was super fun, very layered character.
I'm still have no informationon when it's coming out Exactly,
so we never know, but it wassuper fun, very layered
character.
I'm excited for it and when itdoes come out, I can't wait how
about you.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Like I said, this is pretty much it.
She goes through her cameraroll to like kind of jog her
memory of things that havehappened.
I do, I should have done that.
I'll be more prepared next weekfor more life updates, I think.
I don't know if I can.
It's the only way you have tolook through your camera roll
Cause.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
I forget.
I have the memory of a fishsometimes, so I forget.
So I literally looked back andI said, oh, I did do that.
Oh, and I did do that, oh, okay, I do have life updates.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Well, we did have our launch party with our friends.
That we did when we launchedmilk and honeys.
You probably saw it on thesocial medias, which is really
nice to have such a good groupof friends who came out and
supported us and got tequiladrunk with us Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
On Cinco de Drinco.
On Cinco de Drinco.
That's right.
It's the only way to do it.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
All right honeys.
Well, I mentioned it earlier,it is now time to bring on our
guest who is giggling like ateenage boy, like we were just
now at that joke.
You know him from Vander we'retalking business brains and a
little behind-the-scenes tea.
He's a longtime restaurantmanager, a reality TV fixture
and now the owner and CEO of theReality Network, peter Magical.

(03:52):
Welcome to Milk and Honey.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Thank you for having me on, ladies.

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Of course I really appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
I'm so happy to have you here.
Thank you for joining.
Huh, I said thank you forjoining.
Oh, I thought you said twinning.
Here, I'm going to take my hairdown.
Oh twinning, yes, oh yes, I'mgoing to take my hair down.
We have our hair down.
Look at that, check it out.
Why not, why?

Speaker 1 (04:09):
not Woo-hoo Our views just skyrocketed, skyrocketed.

Speaker 3 (04:18):
Oh, do they?
Now we're going to see ashampoo.
I'm all about it.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Yes, thank you so much for being here today.
Peter, thank you for having me.

Speaker 3 (04:26):
I really appreciate it.
That was a really niceintroduction.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
You know what?
Only the best for the best.

Speaker 3 (04:30):
I didn't know I was the best, but thank you very
much.
Thank you very much, of course,I appreciate it.

Speaker 1 (04:35):
We got to meet you a couple weeks ago at your network
launch party at CERN.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
Yes, yeah, full disclosure uh, I had already
launched the actual network inmay 20, may 28th of 2024 okay
okay and uh, the actual idea forthis and the actual groundwork
started in july of 2023, so I'vebeen at this for a couple of
years now and now it's likereally coming to fruition.

(05:02):
So I am about to launch.
I think by Wednesday I'm goingto be launching reality news.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
Oh, wow, yes.

Speaker 3 (05:10):
Which is going to be a branch of reality network.

Speaker 2 (05:13):
Okay, yeah, so will that also be on Roku Cause?

Speaker 3 (05:18):
reality news stuff.
I'm going to start up like okay, so I am filming my own TV show
right now and that's going tobe on reality network, but I'm
also going to have to host.
You know, I'm just a one-manarmy, so I get up and I breathe
this stuff and I'm going to haveto host the news for right now
until I get someone else toreplace me, which is like I

(05:38):
can't do everything, of course.
So, um, so there's in the, andthe timing couldn't be better
because there's a lot of rumorsgoing on right now outside in
the social media sphere I don'twant to call it social media the
Instagram sphere.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Instagram sphere.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Instagram sphere that a lot of people.
Well, one person in particularis saying that she never worked
at Sir.
Now, what is happening rightnow?

Speaker 1 (06:06):
Someone's the news, the news.
The news is already starting.

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Literally.
Yeah, the guy who's designingmy website.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Wait, so wait.
Are you not saying her name onpurpose?
Is this a?

Speaker 3 (06:16):
I mean, I don't want to say her name, but I could.
So Charlie, so Charlie gets on.
I know who that is.
Yes, so I'm getting a lot ofquestions about this particular
situation, and this is thereason why I didn't want to
bring this out right now, because of the fact that I am
launching my own news network, which is going to host a lot of

(06:36):
this stuff.

Speaker 1 (06:37):
You're giving us a little exclusive here.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Yeah, I'm giving an exclusive.
He's giving us the tea.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
I hope you appreciate it, I really appreciate it.
Gemini to Gemini, gemini toGemini, gemini to Gemini to
Gemini.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
To Gemini.
Gemini is all around.
Greatest sign ever, ever, ever.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
If you don't think so , then we don't care, we don't
care because we already know wewant to change our minds.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
We should talk about Zodiac signs too.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
First, of, all we want to talk about, though, your
reality network with Roku.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Tell us a little bit, by the way cheers, cheers.
We have to do that.
We got to have a littlemargaritas.
What are we cheersing to?

Speaker 1 (07:10):
We're cheersing to all of our new ventures and
success.
There we go.
Love that, all the tea.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
All the tea and margaritas.
You know, we also.
How does it feel being behindthe camera, Because you've been
in front of the camera for somany years?

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Ten seasons.

Speaker 2 (07:27):
That is insane.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
That's a long long time, but now you're stepping
into a very different role thanjust a cast of a reality show.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Yeah, well, I am shooting my own reality show too
, so I'm still in front ofcamera, but I'm also, you know,
behind the scenes and runningthe company, so it's a lot of
work.
You know behind the scenes andrunning the company, so it's a
lot of work.
But you know what?
I love it, it's my purpose.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
It's your purpose, and you know a lot of people
love reality television, Myselfincluded.
Like I watch reality TV morethan I speak to my boyfriend, to
be honest.
But I love how my idea goesinto shooting and editing and
building a cast and everythingthat goes into it.
So can you kind of, you know, peel the curtain back a little
bit for us and tell us what goesinto producing something like
that?

Speaker 3 (08:07):
To producing something Okay cool.
So you have to have first ofall concept.
That's number one.
So with mine, since it's goingto come out later on, it's
probably going to be out therein the sphere already the name
of my, the rules.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
I like it Love.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
I like it, and do you think that you normally do play
outside of the rules?
I don't know, because I feellike at least.

Speaker 1 (08:32):
Vanderpump Rules your routine is like the responsible
one.

Speaker 3 (08:35):
You're actually still crazy, do you not get it?

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Oh, outside the Vanderpump Rules.
She took me on a little journeythere.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
He's like guys, you, guys, I, it's literally sitting.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
I love wordplay so much.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
You are going to realize it takes me a minute, do
you?

Speaker 3 (08:55):
realize that this is going to, and I just follow you
wherever you go.
This is going to be.
Some people are going to be.
It's going to be interesting.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Are you going to bring other former cast people?
I might yeah, I might, yeah.
So what's the overall concept?

Speaker 3 (09:08):
So the overall concept is my life behind the
scenes.
Okay, got it.
For instance, the first episodeis going to be me bartending
guest bartending Because youknow it's part of my life is
making cocktails.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Right, you didn't make these, though.
No, I didn't make yeah, hewould be appalled.
He would be appalled If abartender gave this to him and
said we're serving this for ourcustomers.

Speaker 3 (09:31):
He'd be like you're fired oh no, I'd be like you
want me to get back there andmake you a proper cocktail.

Speaker 1 (09:38):
This is a canned margarita everyone.
We're not going to even say thename.
I can barely even drink it.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
I know, I'm sorry, no offense.
It tastes a little like justlike a soda.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
I have 34 cocktail recipes for a book that I'm
making.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Oh yeah, you were just doing.
Do you sleep ever?

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Yes, I get a good.
Last night I went to bed at 10.
I got up at 5.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
I went to the gym at 6.
I even feel in the gym.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
I've been seeing you posting your, your workouts.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Get him a wrestling ring and you seem to like
balance out everything foryourself, Right, so it's like
what?
What advice would you?

Speaker 3 (10:14):
give to somebody who is coming here.
I'm not Okay.
Um, sometimes I feel like I'munderwater, but most of the time
I just get it.
You know, my whole thing isjust have one track mind to get
it done.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
My dating life doesn't is non-existent.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Yeah, that can be hard.

Speaker 3 (10:31):
But I'm married to my company.

Speaker 1 (10:34):
Of course.

Speaker 3 (10:34):
So I have that, and then I also have, you know, my
shows that I'm working on.
I have another show that I'mlooking to get a budget for in
Vegas, something I've beenworking on for 10 years now.
Wow, in the original pitchpackage material for that show,
I had short hair, so it was myshort hair era.

Speaker 1 (10:54):
Short hair era.
That was a long time ago.
Is that ever going to come back?
No, no, no, no.

Speaker 3 (10:58):
The short hair era will never come back.
And those were two seasons ofVanderpump Rules.
That was five and six.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
Okay, I have to go back and watch those.
What projects?
You already have a lot ofprojects under your belt.
I know you have some coming upthat you just mentioned, but
there's already some that peoplecan go watch on the reality
network.

Speaker 3 (11:13):
So those are all syndicated shows.
Yes, so I got started with abunch of syndicated shows.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
Which of those would you say you're most proud?

Speaker 3 (11:19):
of.
So Catching Cheaters is reallygood Gowning Out and Beverly
Hills Both of those showsCatching Cheaters and Gowning
Out have some of my friendsinvolved in those.
That's why they were easy toget.
I also have a show that Ipersonally started called.
It's a talk show called Servingwith Purpose.
So it's two of my friends, carolina and Danny.

(11:39):
I always told Danny that she isgoing to be good interviewing
people.
I always told Dani that she isgoing to be good interviewing
people.
I also have a show called HairCult, which takes place in a
hair salon in Austin Texas.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Okay, that's fun.
Yeah, I love the drama thatgoes on in the hair salon.
Yeah, there's a lot of drama onthat show All of our personal
therapists and the stories I'msure that they can tell.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
Exactly.
I have one called the Verge, which is about a bunch of
transplants from differentplaces around the country to LA
to be in the underground hip hopworld.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
Love.
Are you a hip hop fan?

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Occasionally, I don't really listen to a lot of music
.

Speaker 1 (12:15):
I listen to more books.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
When.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
I'm working out, I listen to podcasts.
What's your dream realityconcept that you would want to
make, that you maybe you haven'tmade?

Speaker 1 (12:27):
or that, maybe that the world hasn't even seen yet
yeah maybe a concept.

Speaker 3 (12:29):
So I have an offer, well, uh, so I'm kind of doing
them already I mean, yeah, youhave your hands in so many
different projects alreadysatisfied with you know yeah,
I'm pretty satisfied with what'scoming up in the future, yes,
um especially if I get getBarbara all done, that'll be
like an achievement in and ofitself.
Right, of course, and I have tohost it because I'm like well,

(12:51):
shit, I guess.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
I'm not, yeah, but also it makes sense for you to
be hosting something like that.
People are going to tune in tosee you host that yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
And what do you think makes a good reality show in
general?
I mean obviously show ingeneral, Obviously reality,
right, we want to see peopleliving their real lives.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
What ingredients go into the perfect reality show?

Speaker 2 (13:10):
What is that tea?
The milk and the honey to makethe good tea for that reality
show.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
I like it.
You know, what's funny is, Idon't drink tea.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
No.

Speaker 3 (13:21):
I drink black coffee.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
I don't drink coffee, but she does.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
I'm a tea girl.
Well, do you put anything inyour coffee?
I?

Speaker 2 (13:27):
do you probably would hate it.
It's just a little creamer.
It's just a little creamer Idon't put sugar just creamer.
But yeah, my brother-in-lawdrinks it black and I I just it,
can I?

Speaker 1 (13:37):
think people who drink black coffee should be
studied.
Yeah, it's like.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
That's like self-torture you're drinking
bitter water.

Speaker 3 (13:44):
It tastes so good oh god, that's what it tastes like
I go I go in, I go into likeearth or zinc and I'm like give
me a coffee if you want room forcream no, fill that baby up to
the top.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
Okay, wait so you told us.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
You told us what like makes makes a good reality show
.
But like what?
What could ruin a reality show?

Speaker 3 (14:06):
okay.
So as far as uh making a goodone, I'd say uh, compelling
characters, compelling people.
Rather, it's not like it's.
You don't write something, youhave to find.
That's.
That was why vanderpump ruleswas so successful is because it
was around a bunch of compellingpeople.

Speaker 1 (14:23):
The best cast in reality TV of all time.
I feel like it still has notbeen topped.
People try to top that cast.
I went back and watched all theseasons recently and it just it
is golden.
It almost seems too good to benon-scripted.
It's very interesting lookingback on it?

Speaker 2 (14:36):
I never watched it until, to be fair, until the
scandal stuff happens, it wasall over my screen.
And it's like, well, who isthis guy?
So I did not know what wasgoing on, like people were
saying, and I just so then.
And then I went to her housewhen we were doing a
brainstorming uh session and shehad it on and I was.
She was like, yeah, I put thison, I'm re-watching it and I put

(14:57):
it on when I'm working.
You know, I have not turned itoff I started from season one,
just like maybe two months ago,and I'm just going through it
now, and so now, I've seen alllike not all of them, yet I'm
still not caught up.
But what?
Yeah, the cast is just it's,it's insane but now they're
getting a whole new cast.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
Well, yeah, sorry, continue and we'll go into that.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
But so your question was what makes what makes a?

Speaker 2 (15:21):
good reality show and what ruins it Compelling cast.
Compelling cast.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
And what ruins it is so a compelling cast.
I always go back to VPR, so youhave to have an interesting
person who's leading it, or agroup of people.
But these group of people, theyhave to know each other, right?
You know what I mean.
It has to come off naturally, because you know, let's say you

(15:49):
and I go out, what are we goingto talk about?
Right?
Nothing, right, and we're goingto be on camera too.
Exactly.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
You see, going to talk about right, nothing right,
and we're going to be on cameratoo.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
Exactly you see what I mean.
Exactly.
So we, we have to know like andthat's the reason why vpr works
so well because we had.
We had, until we laid somethingdown on camera in 2011, we had
known each other since 2008 therelationships had already been
built and established.
Yeah, right, yeah therelationships, breakups, etc all
the drama backlog, all the.
So so you can talk aboutanything.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
You see what I mean.
Yeah, that makes sense.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
So that and so compelling characters are one,
are one contribution to a greattelevision, uh, reality
television show.
And then of course the cast, already kind of knowing each
other and being familiar witheach other and being able to
banter.

Speaker 1 (16:33):
So then probably what ruins it is just having the
opposite, like if you do put abunch of random people in a show
.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Random people, yeah, no, and do the drama Right.
They won't even know where tobegin All right.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Well, listen, you know Vanderpump Rules.
We got to talk a little bit.
You still work at.
Sir, is it comfort or chaosthat keeps you there?

Speaker 3 (16:59):
You're the last standing member, right?
Yeah, it's not comfort or chaos.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
It's just, uh, you know, just enjoyment, yeah, yeah
, does it still?
Yeah, I was going to say, doesit still feel like home to you?

Speaker 3 (17:04):
Yeah, yes, yeah, in many ways, but more like today,
I'm more of a brand ambassador.
Now I go in, I take pictures.
I'm not really the manageranymore you know.
Yeah, it's a differentenvironment.
Last year at this time I wasthe head honcho.
You know, but managing a placefor 15 years takes a toll.
And as much stuff you havegoing on right now, I can't

(17:26):
imagine you have time to gomanage yeah, exactly A
restaurant as popular as Sir.

Speaker 1 (17:30):
Well, what do you think about this whole new cast
situation?

Speaker 3 (17:32):
Well, I know the cast .

Speaker 1 (17:36):
The new one.
Yeah, I know them yeah do youthink they are doing a good cast
?
I mean I, I hope so for theirsake.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
I hope so right I hope they bring it.
I hope that it's a good.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
I hope that they choose to fill.
It's big, it's huge shoes tofill.

Speaker 3 (17:48):
It's not like oh well , we're just going to go in to
make this like little show.
Are you kidding me?
It it's Vanderpump Rules.
I know it is one of the biggest, greatest shows in the history
of television.
It is pop culture history.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
It is.
They do the Charleston version.
I guess, what is it Southern, not Southern Comfort?
That's what I want to alwayscall it.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
It's the.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
Charleston Vanderpump Rules thing Southern.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
Hospitality Southern.

Speaker 1 (18:13):
Hospitality.
I feel like they're trying tobe vanderpump rules, but I've
seen james kennedy pop there.
Like I can tell it's kind ofsome crossover but no, it could
be peter madrigal.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
I'm sorry you're gonna have to commit.
No one can be peter madrigalmadrigal do you are?

Speaker 2 (18:32):
are any of the older uh people from Vanderpump rules
giving advice to these?

Speaker 3 (18:41):
newbies, or are they kind of?

Speaker 2 (18:43):
really out of that question.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
That I don't think so .
I mean, like a lot of them areon another, uh, they're just
doing.
Yeah, they're doing their ownthing at this point, you know
whenever people ask me like myopinion, I give it to them,
though, cause I'm I'm around.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
Oh, around.
Oh, of course that's good.
You know you want, you want to,you want to help, but also I
feel like for me, I wouldn'thelp that much because I want to
see, I want to see people.
Uh, I want to see the squirm alittle bit we have to squirm.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
You know what's okay.
So the what's something thatfans never.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
Oh, he hates that drink that drink, but I love
that he's still sipping.
He's so dramatic over here.
Mr Big Time Hot Shot bartenderover here hates my canned
margarita.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
I worked so hard on pouring this and don't you
forget it.

Speaker 3 (19:29):
I could make you a margarita that you'd be like, oh
my god.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
Next time we have you on, it's called the pita rita.
Well, I had it at your party.
Yes, I had several Peteritas.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Oh, there we go yeah they were actually very good.

Speaker 1 (19:41):
It was very good.
Yes, it was very, very good.

Speaker 2 (19:43):
But what is something that the Vanderpump fans never
got to see that you can give us?
Maybe no one has seen, I don'tknow because I've never seen the
show.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
You've never watched it.

Speaker 3 (19:55):
That's amazing, I'm like I don't like him.

Speaker 1 (19:59):
That is funny.
I'm that way too.
I don't like watching myselflaughing.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
Oh, that's Peter, I'll be walking by at Sir, and
we got it playing constantly onthe TV behind the bar.
I look up and I'm like randomlysee me.
I'm like, but then you look inand you're like, wait, hold on.
What am I talking?

Speaker 1 (20:22):
about in that scene yeah, you know, yeah, yeah, I'm
just, have you ever been like?

Speaker 3 (20:27):
really, what was going on at that point in time
in my life, did you?

Speaker 1 (20:31):
ever give yourself like kind of an ick?
I give give myself an ick whenI watch myself back all the time
.
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (20:35):
Especially now that I'm older and looking back on it
, I would have done things alittle bit differently.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
Yeah, are you going to get that chance?
Are you going to be in the newseason or are you he's saying he
doesn't, he's keeping that?

Speaker 1 (20:50):
Oh, I was just seeing if we could maybe, like's she's
the gotcha journalist over hereget it out of you on accident.
You know what I mean give himsome more alcohol, you're not
gonna have any success with thatwoman okay um, you know we've
seen people you know on realitytv for all of these years, uh,
who go through drastictransformations, and not only

(21:10):
the way they look, but alsotheir personalities.
Do you feel like reality tvreally does to people's quirk,
change them both positively andnegatively?

Speaker 3 (21:18):
Well, it changed me for a positive change.

Speaker 1 (21:20):
Did you so?
Tell us how it changed you fora positive.

Speaker 3 (21:23):
Well, um, uh, I did it to advance my career and, uh,
get my name out there.
That's, that's one of thereasons why I did a lot of, why
I did 10 seasons.
Um, why I did 10 seasons, youknow, just to keep my, you know,
just advancing my career.
That was a positive for me andhave opportunities that I have
today you know to work with someawesome people and have some

(21:43):
awesome relationships and, youknow, build an awesome company.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
Yeah, and though you know, on the flip side, that
we've seen many people who havegone through the rally TV world
squander those opportunities andactually potentially ruin parts
of their life.
We've been seeing all over theInstagram verse, or whatever you
call it.
Jax Taylor is a good example ofsomeone I'm going to ask are
y'all not friends, right?
I've already kindled yourfriends, your, your, your

(22:09):
romance.
I think the who says it all.
But people like that are theJames Kennedy's.
It's like how are you giventhis huge platform, given
everything, opportunity to justthrow it all away?
And you've done the right thing, clearly.
I mean, I feel like you arecoming out looking as like one
of the most successful peoplewho were there that show and you
have a good reputation.
You got your head on yourshoulders, people respect you

(22:30):
and that's all you could everhope for when you think about it
.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
I've always had my head on my shoulders and you
know, everyone always called methe calm and the chaos yeah,
absolutely yeah, for sure that'sbasically always been my role,
because I I was always theswitzerland, I was always the
peacemaker I was always the guyin between the fights, you know,
except for when, uh, sandovalpunched taylor.
Um, that was season two.

(22:54):
Okay, yeah, I was like.
I remember telling him at hisbirthday if Tom comes after you,
I'm not getting in the wayBecause I could, because I'm
stronger than both of them.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
You could hold both of them just by the shirt.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
It was always fun for me to watch when you actually
hung out with everybody and letloose, because it was kind of a
rare thing to see, because youwere always kind of.

Speaker 3 (23:14):
I always let loose when we were out of town yeah
and that's something I alwaystold lisa.
At least it's all like you know.
Make sure, peter, that, thatyou don't disrespect the, the
the brand, the brand no, the,the restaurant and I'm all like,
whatever I do stuff, it's noteven in the country okay.
If I'm like, if I'm acting alittle crazy, I mean sometimes,

(23:38):
sometimes it's at like a club orwhatever, but I'm never doing
that, it's sir yeah, like that'snot a thing.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
You know you're really clearly you and lisa
still have a good relationship.
If you're still managing, sir,how often do you do you talk
with her?

Speaker 3 (23:51):
I just saw her a couple of days ago.
Yeah, how would she do it?

Speaker 1 (23:53):
I'm such a fan I've ran into, ran into her in West
Hollywood one night and I justhad to get it she.
She was so nice to me and tooka picture with me and with Ken.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
Oh, she's very gracious, she was great yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:02):
How was it like working with her?
Oh it was.

Speaker 3 (24:03):
it's always been awesome.
Yeah, it slash bartender at thetime and I hardly knew them and
we were expanding into thelounge uh, the lounge where it
is today, so where I, where Istarted, was just the original
sir right and then they boughtthe building next door and

(24:26):
created the lounge and Iremember uh working because we
had lunches at the time.
So I remember working a lunchand they were constructing uh
the lounge and lisa asked me forsome tea, so I brought her her
tea right, which is um uhenglish breakfast with milk, all

(24:47):
right.
And then, uh, she I remember herturning to me and saying, peter
, you can, you can say hi to me,it's fine.
I was like, oh okay, next thingyou know, I'm behind the bar
mixing some drinks.
Ken and Guillermo walk throughbecause they were doing an
inspection of the new spot and Isay hey, ken, how's it going?
He's like what do you want?
I'm just saying hi, ken.

(25:07):
He seemed like such a delight.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
But he was all like, oh, how's it going?

Speaker 3 (25:18):
Hello, I don't need anything from you.
Yes, exactly, that's the firstthing I thought, that, and I'll
never forget that.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
That's the first thing I thought that he thought
yeah, what does this guy want?

Speaker 2 (25:23):
yeah, of course, of course.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
I was like I'm just saying hi ken, you know and ever
since then we have we've had agood relationship yeah, no, I, I
think lisa, really she.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
She's a boss lady with compassion, which is hard
to come by, you know, likethat's the, she has the best of
both personalities.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
It's really awesome she spent so much time giving so
much advice to these young kids, trying, you know, get them
back in the state, and you knowsaw a lot of times it was thrown
back in her face.
So it is nice to know that youstill have a great relationship
with her.

Speaker 2 (25:50):
I'm sure she really appreciates and really
appreciate and she knows who can, uh, play hard and work hard.

Speaker 1 (25:55):
It's pretty obvious, and you're obviously one of
those people I could play hardand work hard exactly.
Lisa plays hard exactly.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
She was a little yeah you know and you find out real
quick who can't lisa has somefun.

Speaker 1 (26:06):
She should I remember .

Speaker 3 (26:08):
I remember because I like to take dry months.
So I remember there's a pictureon my twitter of me carrying
lisa around.
You can go to like.
If you go to my twitter, you'llsee that picture.
It's my avatar right and umthat I had ended my sobriety.

Speaker 1 (26:28):
That not sobriety, but my dry month because I like
to do dry two a year.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
So yeah, so this was in uh february of last year.
All right, 2024 and um.
Before I took that picture, she, uh ken ken was all like oh,
you know, do you want to have ashot with me?
I was like ken I'm dry rightnow, he's like.
So he goes and tells lisa, lisa's like, come here, do a
shot bad influence I'm dry thismonth.

Speaker 2 (26:56):
She's like I will take a shot if you take a shot
you can't say no, you got it,you got it, you got it, you got
it.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
So I go get a two I get two shots of tequila, I give
her one.
I remember looking at theisland.

Speaker 1 (27:08):
Let's go.
That's amazing.
How has she been?
Have you gotten advice?
I mean, she's a queen ofreality tv in a lot of ways.
Have you gone to her at allwith advice?

Speaker 3 (27:17):
I haven't.
She's busy, so I'm just likeyou know, I know what to do, of
course, of course.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
Well, it's that time of the game, time of the show we
like to play.

Speaker 3 (27:26):
Don't tell me we have to chug this no.

Speaker 1 (27:29):
It's up to you actually.
It is now time for Sip or Spill.
So, basically, we're going toask you some questions you can
answer If you don't want toanswer you've got to take a nice
big gulp of that.
And again, there is a refillbehind you.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
Is that it?
That's it.
Don't show it because theydon't sponsor us.
They don't sponsor us.
No free sponsors.

Speaker 1 (27:48):
We can pour a little bit more in there, so what?

Speaker 3 (27:50):
if I sip this entire thing, that'll make it very
boring.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
These questions are pretty tame, so you probably
won't even want it.
You'll probably sip just forfun.
Anyway, we're going to kickthings off, sip or spill, take
it away.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
Best restaurant in LA that's not owned by Lisa
Vanderbilt.

Speaker 1 (28:07):
I'm going to sip to that because cheers.
She has a lot.
She has a lot, so I don't know.

Speaker 1 (29:16):
People are nicer these days.
I feel like back in the daythere's a lot of entitlement,
especially in the la world, butI feel like you don't see that
as much yeah, I haven't you know, I do think with social media.

Speaker 3 (29:24):
Maybe it's because I'm on tv, though maybe it's
because I you know yeah, I don'tknow, I haven't, I haven't.
My one of my favoriteencounters was, uh, selena gomez
okay I didn't like.
I barely I kind of knew who shewas because I don't pay
attention to you know, like thecelebrity gossip, and Everyone
was freaking out taking hertable.

it myself.

fire somebody that you liked?

Speaker 3 (31:20):
