It could be yours. Buckle up and hold on time.
We got it for you.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Here it is Strawberry Letter. Thank you nephew.

Speaker 2 (00:35):
Subject to my man is still better than yours. Dear Stephen, Sure,
Dear Stephen Shirley. I got married for the first time
when I was fifty eight years old, and I've been
married for four years. My husband had a car accident
six months ago and he had his mistress in the
car with him. That's how I found out he was

(00:56):
cheating on me. We had to pay her medical bills
and cover her injuries on our insurance. I was embarrassed
because my sister was always.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
Waiting for me to lose.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
See, she dated my husband back in the mid nineties.
He said it was just a sex thing, but I
could tell that she really liked him. He and I
were always cool, but nothing sexual ever went down until
we decided to be more than friends. About ten years ago.
We went out and the rest is history. My hating
sister has six kids and she's been married for years,

(01:31):
but she still got upset after my husband and I eloped.
She started bragging about how much her husband spends on
her and how he can't get enough of her in.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
The bedroom after all these years.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
After months of hearing that, I finally told her that
her husband is sleeping with two ladies. As she knows,
I showed her the receipts with text messages and pictures
of them hugged up. She had the nerve to tell
me that her man was still better than mine by
the looks of things, where even we both live with cheaters.

(02:05):
And I'm tired of beefing with my sister over my husband.
I don't see how she can hold a grudge for
this long. If I could do things over I'd still
marry my husband. And I don't care that she dated
him over thirty years ago.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Why is she.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Constantly hating on me over a man that never wanted her.
How do we resolve our feud? Well? Well, well, yeah,
I mean, don't you understand that you broke the girl.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Code and the sister code here? I mean period. That's
what this is.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
It's not that your sister's a hater or anything like that.
She's upset that you dated someone she dated to her,
So what if it was thirty years ago to her?
It feels still feels like yesterday when she was with him,
So you can't be mad at her for this.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
I'm just surprised how you don't see any of this.

Speaker 2 (02:55):
You don't know, So I'm going to tell you the
girl code is an unspoken rule, okay, amongst women. We
don't date our sister's men, our girlfriend's men, our cousins.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
We don't do that. Okay.

Speaker 2 (03:08):
The girl code has been broken many times with them
friendships we know that, Families all that, and if you
or anyone else does break it, don't expect to still
be friends with these people.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
It just doesn't work like that. So that's what it is.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
If your sister wasn't blood, I'm sure she probably would
have canceled you a long time ago. Your sister feels
betrayed by you because you married a man she dated
in her past. It doesn't matter that your husband said it.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Was just for sex. Your sister thought it was more
than that. Obviously, really, really, you're the hater.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
In my opinion, I'm just gonna tell you you're the
hater because of all the things you've done to your
sister with showing her the pictures of her husband and
telling her about that, you're the hater.

Speaker 1 (03:52):
Steve all right.

Speaker 4 (03:53):
First of all, let me start by saying, surely knows
the girl code. I really don't, but it sounds like
she knows what she's talking about the narrative card, So
obviously you must have broke the girl code. Got all that.
Now me not knowing the girl code and all like that.
Let me just tell you somebody here, this letter right
here ain't nothing but some mess. I can't help you.
I don't want to help you. I don't know how

(04:15):
to help you. Let me just start off with the
title of this letter. My man is still better than yours.
No he ain't, No, he ain't, ain't neither one y'all
got nothing. Neither one y'all. I don't even know what
you're writing for. I got married for the first time
when I was fifty eight years old, right there, right there.

(04:36):
You don't know how to pick a man. Fifty eight,
You ain't. You ain't been in a relationship up until
now that has led to a marriage or anything. So
you been married four years now, listen to this. Your
husband had a car accident six months ago. He had

(04:58):
his mistress in the car with tight of this letter.
Is my man is still better than yours? My answer
to that is no, he ain't mistress in the car.
I can't tell you when that car crashed how he
was trying to figure out how to get her out
of there and make sure she was okay. I boy,

(05:20):
I wish i'd been there and he had his mistress
in the car. That's how I found out he was
cheating on me. Then you had to pay a medical
bills couver of injuries on our insurance. I was in
bass because my sister was always waiting for me to
lose Why because she dated.

Speaker 3 (05:37):
My husband back in the mid nineties.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
He said it was just sex thing, but I could
tell she really liked him.

Speaker 3 (05:45):
Why you win him?

Speaker 4 (05:47):
That's the girl called that Shirley's talking about. Shirley called
this out. Why you win him? He and I were
always cool, but nothing sexual ever went down until we
decided to mooting friends about ten years ago.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
We went out in the rest is history. No no, no,
ain't no, we went out in the rest is history.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
No.

Speaker 4 (06:10):
You messing with a man to dated your sister? Then
here we go. My hating sister has six kids. She
been married for years, but she got upset about me
and my husband and I eloped. You know, you had
to elope because you couldn't get nobody in the family
to come to this wed right, So you had to

(06:33):
elo because you couldn't get nobody in.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Your family to come to this.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
Now, why are you calling your sister Hayter? I don't
know anyway.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
All right, I'll be hanging on, Steve.

Speaker 2 (06:45):
We'll have part two of your response coming up in
twenty three minutes after the hour. Uh today's Strawberry letter
title my man is still better than yours.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
We'll get back into it right after this.

Speaker 2 (06:57):
You're listening hard morning show, so additional terms at DKG
dot co slash audio limited time offer. All right, come on, Steve,
let's recap today's strawberry letter. The subject is my man,
my man is still better than yours?

Speaker 4 (07:13):
And my answer is no, he ain't one of the
things this woman got married for the first time when
she was fifty eight. That's kind of it happened, but
that you've been married for four years. My husband had
a car accident then six months ago, and he had
his mistress in the car with him. That's how I

(07:35):
found out he was cheating. And then we had to
pay all her medical bills and everything on our insurance
and had to cover all the stuff for her.

Speaker 3 (07:43):
All right, I was embarrassed.

Speaker 4 (07:46):
Okay, now that right there, right there, right there, Let's
go back to the title my husband is better than yours.
My answer is no, he ain't. He in car accidents.
He don't even dry good with girls in the car.
I was supposed to slow down. You supposed to take
backstreets Alley. All this. He all out on the main

(08:07):
street going fast. They slammed into it there with his
stupid behind drive there in the car laughing. You ain't
supposed to laugh with your mistress in the car. Supposed
to be quiet. Backstreets Alley's turn off one ways.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Stupid.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
I was embarrassed because my sister's always waiting on me
to lose why because she dated my husband back in
the mid nineties. He said it was just a sex thing,
but I could tell she really liked him. Okay, if
you could tell your sister really liked him, why are
you dating this man? Shirley said, this is girl cold
you broke. I see why. He and I were always cool,

(08:51):
but nothing sexual went down until we decided to be
molting friends about ten years ago. Tell y'all all this
we just friends. Okay, we went out and the rest
is history.

Speaker 3 (09:02):
No, it's not no what you mean.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
We went out and the rest is history. Now, my
hating sister got six kids and she been married for years,
and she still got upset after me and my husband eloped.
You had to elop because everybody in the family know
your sister used to date the man that really like him,
and now you just scooped him up with your old
behind at fifty eight, thinking you got something here in

(09:26):
Conrens with mistresses, and now y'all be eloped.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
Got girl, you had the load.

Speaker 4 (09:32):
She started bragging about how much our husband spills on
her and how much he can't get enough for her
in the bedroom after all these years.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
Well, they got six kids.

Speaker 4 (09:43):
I think that he can't get enough of her statement,
it's very true. Yeah, and then how much he's spearing
on her. Hell, they got six kids. All his check
is gone. How much he's spearing on me? And it's
you got six kids, so every quarter he makes spit

(10:03):
on y'all. After months of hearing that, I finally told
her that her husband is sleeping with two ladies that
she knows.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
Why would you do that?

Speaker 1 (10:16):
She's the hater.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
I showed her the receipts with text messages and pictures
of them hugged up.

Speaker 4 (10:23):
She had to nerd and tell me that her man
was still better than mine by the looks of things.
We even, well, ain't you paying for the woman's injuries
that was in the car accident? Because your husband had
a chick in the car, and so what are you
talking about? She had the nerd and tell me that

(10:44):
her man was still better than mine by the looks
of things. We even even ain't neither one y'all got nothing?

Speaker 3 (10:51):
What did you even?

Speaker 4 (10:53):
We both live with cheetahs, so what so what's okay?

Speaker 3 (11:00):
What do you want me?

Speaker 4 (11:01):
And sureley, we both live with cheatahs. I'm tired of
be for my sister over my husband. Well, if you
hadn't marry this man who is a cheater, who was
dating your sister back in the nineties, who your sister
really liked. We wouldn't even be here, right. I don't
see how she can hold a grudge for this loan.

(11:23):
It ain't a grudge. It's what you did. No, this
ain't no grudge. This is what you did. If I
could do things over, I still marry my husband. Okay, cool,
Now it's what you did, and you ain't never apologized
or tried to explain yourself. You just want her to

(11:43):
get over it. Well, when you're gonna go in there
and say, sis, can I talk to you?

Speaker 3 (11:49):
My bad? But I did fall in love with him.

Speaker 4 (11:52):
I marry him again, but I won't apologize if I
hurt you, But you ain't did that. That's probably all
your sister want, you know, women like closure, just coming
here and admit to me that you hurt me and
you knew I was wrong or something. I don't see
how she can hold a grudge for this loan. If
I could do things over, I still marry my husband
and I don't care that she dated him over thirty

(12:15):
years ago. Okay, then we back to you not caring
how your sister feel, which is what this ain't a grudge.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
This is what you did. Why is she constantly hating.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
On me over a man that never wanted her but
she wanted him. Yeah, and now you got him. How
to resolve our few? I don't know, nor do I
kill because it don't seem like you want to work
nothing out anyway. You ain't got no sister, and you

(12:46):
man and R

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
