8. Finding Meaning When You’re at a Crossroads or Pivot in Your Life

Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about the idea of meaningful work, what happens when you no longer feel connected or aligned to what you’re doing, when your motivation just… extinguishes. In this episode, I share what it means to go through the confusion of losing passion for what you once loved and the process to find your way back to meaning and fulfillment.

I share lessons from bestselling author Viktor Frankl, whose book recounts his survival of the Holocaust through finding purpose in the darkest times, and a personal teacher of mine, Dr. John Demartini, who overcame learning disabilities to become a world-renowned teacher. We’ll also talk about my journey—how I became aware that I was operating from extrinsic motivation, seeking external validation and how I cleanse my motivation to find what is most authentic and congruent to the most genuine expression of who I am and what I desire; how I find an endless source of intrinsic motivation. 

You’ll hear how these stories (and maybe your own) are all part of what’s known as the hero’s journey—that universal process of facing challenges, transforming, and coming out the other side stronger and wiser.
