(00:00):
In our last episode, we weretalking about some of the
mechanics of the moon cycle.
So just very generally, how dowe work with the cycles of the
moon regardless of what signit's in?
What does it mean when it's anew moon or a full moon, a first
quarter moon, or a last quartermoon?
How is it that knowing thosethings can actually help us kind

(00:20):
of map out our lives, ourenergy, making sure that we're
having rhythms and a cadencethat includes time for both
action and rest?
I love getting really clear onwhere the moon is at in our
chart, because this tells us alot about what our core needs
are, what we need to feel safe, what we need to feel secure,
what we need to feel successful.

(00:41):
So when you think about work, what might feel successful to
one person is going to be verydifferent to how success feels
for another person.
And a lot of that is based onwhere the moon is at in your
chart, where it was when youwere born.
We're going to go into what thatlooks like in each of the signs.
I want to go, just into a littlebit more of the mechanics of the

(01:02):
way that the moon works.
So most people know what theirsun sign is.
That changes signs about every29 days.
So if you were born on a certainday, regardless of the year,
regardless of the time your sunsign is based on that day, so
anybody born on that day isgoing to have the same exact sun
sign as you.
That doesn't change.
And that's that 29 ish daycycle.

(01:24):
The moon changes signs everylike two and a half days.
So as we go through one suncycle of about 29 days, the moon
is changing and going throughevery single one of the signs
during that cycle.
So I think that's helpful toknow because this gives us a
much deeper layer of nuance thanour sun sign can give us.

(01:46):
So a lot of times somebodymight, come to a reading and
say, well, I'm an Aquarius, orI'm a Taurus, or I'm a Gemini,
but that doesn't feel like it ahundred percent explains me.
Some of it does, some of itdoesn't.
That's because our charts aremade up of so much more than
where the sun is, and a lot ofit, our next big step is the
moon.
Where was the moon when you wereborn?

(02:07):
So let's talk through what thatmeans in terms of the zodiac
wheel, we always start withAries, so we're going to start
there.
That's the very first sign ofthe Zodiac.
If the moon was in Aries whenyou were born, and let me pause
for a second.
If you don't know where the moonwas when you were born, I want
you to go tomosttrueyou.com/guide.

(02:29):
mosttrueyou.com/guide and I'llput that in the show notes.
From there you can download aguidebook that is going to walk
you through a step by step howto find your birth chart.
How to find your sun, moon, andrising sign and what each of
those means.
So if you haven't done that andyou're listening to the podcast
or watching the video, take aminute, pause and go do that.

(02:50):
That way you can kind of followalong.
One thing that's really cool isonce you know those signs, what
I tell you about your moon isgoing to, on some level, apply
to your sun and your rising signas well.
It's not the same because theyhave different significators in
our lives, but the energies aregoing to apply.
So think about this for your sunsign, think about this for your

(03:12):
moon and think about this foryour rising.
But with our moon, again, we'rereally getting at our core
needs.
The core need comes from a bookthat I love by Dmetra George
called Astrology and theAuthentic Self.
It's actually about readingcharts for other people as well
as your own.
It's a pretty technical book, soit's not necessarily one that I
recommend for someone who's justgetting into astrology, but I

(03:34):
want to give a shout out to thatresource because that's where
this core need comes from.
If your moon is in Aries.
You have a need to beindependent and to develop
self-awareness.
Aries is very much about theself.
It's about, not necessarilyrelying on others because you're
so instinctual.
Aries is a fire sign.

(03:55):
It's that spark that gets a firegoing.
You live through action, and youneed momentum.
You need to be constantly takingaction on things.
You need to be able to actboldly and not have to wait for
permission.
And that can be tough whenyou're at work or even at home
where maybe you need permission.
Maybe it's not permission, butyou need consent or you need to

(04:18):
cooperate with others.
This can be tough, and so youneed to make sure that you have
times where you get to just acton instinct because you, you can
be impulsive.
And you are instinctual.
And so recognizing when you'rebeing impulsive versus when
you're being instinctual andrecognizing when your impulse is

(04:39):
instinct, which is not a badthing, being able to take action
on that, but then also going, okay, not everybody's as
comfortable with just jumpingright in as I am some people
need to analyze or to talkthrough or to feel through
whatever's going on.
That will help you a lot in thatself-awareness to know when you
are going on instinct and theawareness of others, what do

(05:02):
they doing and what do theyneed?
If your moon is in Taurus, yourcore need is to be resourceful
and get productive results.
You want to produce somethingyou feel really nourished
through routines, throughcomfort.
Stability is how you bloom.
You need stability in your life, and so there can be that like.

(05:26):
Every one of us, whatever ourmoon sign is, we can beat
ourselves up for it.
For Taurus.
What I want you to kind ofreframe is my need for security
is sacred, not selfish.
It is not selfish to needsecurity and stability, and not
everyone has that same need thatyou have.
So, kind of being able tobalance those two things is

(05:47):
really important.
If your moon is in Gemini, yourcore need is to communicate and
make mental contact with others.
That mental play is reallyimportant for you with your moon
in Gemini.
You are going to be lit up byconversations, by learning.
You're curious.
You need mental movement.

(06:08):
For you, processing out loud ishow you find your peace.
So giving yourself permission toprocess out loud, finding those
people who want to process outloud with you is really, really
important for that sense ofstability and security.
If your moon is on cancer, thisis where the moon feels most at
home.
This is her home sign is cancer.

(06:29):
You have a need to give andreceive emotional warmth and
security.
That's really important for you.
Cancer is a very nurturing sign.
You need emotional safety andsacred space where you can
retreat.
Think about the crab.
Cancer's a water sign and it'sthat water kind of on the edge
of the beach.

(06:50):
The crab carries its home withit so that it can retreat at any
moment.
You need that sense of retreat.
Sensitivity for you is not a badthing.
It is your source of wisdom.
So being sensitive, a lot ofpeople with their moon or other
strong signs and or placementsin cancer can feel like they're

(07:11):
too sensitive.
But for you, that sensitivity isa form of wisdom That's really
important for you to know.
Moon in Leo.
Leo's another fire sign.
You have a need for creativeexpression and appreciation by
others, and this is one that, especially for those who only

(07:33):
have their moon and nothing elsein Leo, can sometimes feel like,
I don't know that I need to beappreciated by others.
It might look a little bitdifferent than.
The stereotypical Leo energy, the, you know, we say Leo wants
the spotlight.
Leo likes to be the center ofattention.
It's not necessarily that.
And what I have found is formost people with strong Leo

(07:54):
placements, I.
I know about most, for a lot ofpeople with strongly ill
placements that need for thespotlight is not necessarily it;
it's more of the appreciation byothers.
Think of a campfire where you'regathering people your warmth is
encouraging them to maybecommune together, to talk

(08:15):
together, to be together aroundyour warmth.
That is very Leo.
Energy you shine when yourpassions are seen and
celebrated, and your joy is aform of medicine both for
yourself and others.
And that's something that I wantyou to give yourself permission
that you are not too much; youare meant to be seen.

(08:37):
If your sun, your moon, or yourrising sign is in Leo, you are
meant to be seen.
And if you have learned to notbe seen, Unlearning that is
going to be really, reallyimportant for you.
And I want to back up because Irealized that I didn't give the
elements for Taurus and Gemini.
So Aries is a fire sign.

(08:59):
It's that spark that gets a firegoing.
Taurus is an earth sign and Ilike to think of, um, outside of
our house, we live up on alittle hill and there's this
beautiful green pasture with acreek that runs by it.
And.
If we had cows, we don't, ourneighbors have horses down
there, but if we had cows, youwould think of the bull grazing

(09:20):
in the grass by the creek.
It's that very calm, veryserene, and very powerful.
The symbol for Taurus is a bull.
So thinking about that need forboth the serenity and peace and
the power, that's thatproductivity there.
Um, Gemini's an air sign, so.
Air is associated with how wethink.
That's why we talk about Geminineeding that mental play.

(09:42):
It's an air sign.
It's very much summer air, rightin the northern hemisphere.
Gemini is a, we're heading intosummer, um, when it's Gemini
season.
So it's that it's an air sign.
It wants to play, it wants to bearound other people, but it not
in the same way that Leo does itwants to be talking and
exchanging ideas, whereas Leowants to be around other people

(10:04):
and be seen and appreciated forwho they are and what they do.
Okay.
Moving into Virgo.
Virgo is another earth sign.
Where Taurus is the, you know, thinking about the field of
grass with the creek runningthrough it, it's a little bit
wild.

(10:25):
It's a little bit un campedsometimes.
Virgo is that very well curatedfarm field where you've got rows
of something growing and inbetween if it has been well
kept, it's going to be weededout.
We're going to make sure thatwhatever's.
We're growing is being nourishedand that there's not weeds in
between.
Sucking up that nourishment, taking away from what we're

(10:47):
trying to grow.
That is the.
Earth, energy of Virgo, it iscurated.
It is organized, it ispurposeful and intentional.
You are on a mission and you aregoing to do it, and you're going
to do it well.
Virgo really needs to functionefficiently and to analyze

(11:08):
right.
Virgo looks at something veryquickly, can analyze, figure out
how to improve it, figure outhow to make it efficient.
You need to be in positions inyour life, whether that's living
and or working where you canbring efficiency to and order to
the world around you.
Your discernment is a gift andyou don't have to fix

(11:30):
everything.
You can see all the things thatneed to be fixed, but allowing
yourself to see that, thatactual, like going out and
fixing of something.
That is a gift to be given.
And being discerning about thatgift, who and when you give that
is really, really important foryou.
So I want you to think aboutthat.

(11:52):
My Moon and Virgo people.
Moon in Libra.
Libra is another air sign.
It's a little bit differentthough.
Libra is very much, so whereGemini is the summer air sign,
Libra is Fall in the northernhemisphere.
Things are starting to cool off.

(12:12):
It's starting to feel better tobe outside.
You might get the like coolbreezes, warm afternoons, but
it's very peaceful.
You like, there's just thisstrong desire to be in Libra
air.
Libra is a peaceful sign.
You have a need to relate wellto others to create harmony and

(12:33):
to experience beauty.
Beauty is really importantbecause it is how you create
harmony is through beauty.
So people who have, I am Librarising.
My rising sign is a Libra.
Those who have Libra Sun, moon,or rising probably have a very
strong sense of beauty.
For me I will literally buythings because of how they look.
I buy books based on theircover.

(12:54):
I buy wine based on the label, right?
I have my.
I love my beautiful cups, thesethings that just bring me joy
because of the beauty of them.
That is a very Libra energy.
You are going to feel most atpeace when your life and your
relationships feel balanced.
The thing with that is we try tobalance that by controlling our

(13:15):
ability to please others, andthat is not the thing for us to
do.
So if your moon is in Libra, oryour sun, or your rising sign is
in Libra, I want you to thinkabout the fact that harmony and
balance have to include you.
You do not have to over give inorder to be loved.
That's an out of balance thing.

(13:36):
For those with their Moon andLibra, you're probably so used
to making everybody else happyand giving 90% toward that and
only asking for 10% or even lessfor yourself.
And so if that is you, askingfor 20% or 30%, or even 40% is
going to feel like you're askingfor too much.

(13:57):
And so I want you to practicethis idea that harmony includes
you.
Balance includes you and yourneeds.
That is a huge thing for thosewith their moon and Libra, that
you've got to not only be makingeverybody else happy, but
ensuring that your needs andyour peace and your joy is being
met.

(14:18):
Moon in Scorpio, Scorpios awater sign.
But, it's very different fromthe cancer water, cancer.
Water is the beach.
The tide is coming and going.
There's waves that are comingand going.
Scorpio is the depths of theocean.
It can be dark.
Not everybody is comfortablewith the depths that our Scorpio

(14:38):
folks like to go to, but there'salso a peace in that, right?
You're think about the beachwhen there's storms, the beach
is getting battered.
By those emotional storms,Scorpio down in the depths is
not touched by those storms.
The depth is the depth no matterwhat is going on above it.
So there's a little bit of peacethat can be found there.

(15:01):
For you, you need depth andintimacy in your relationships
and in your work.
You need to be able to see andbring about emotional
transformations with people.
If that is not happening, you'reprobably not feeling like you
belong in that relationship orin that job.
You want to see transformationhappening.

(15:22):
You need truth, not fluff.
When you can explore theemotional depths safely, you
thrive, and that has got toinclude not only other people's
emotional depths but your own aswell.
So I want you to think aboutthat.
If you've got a moon in,Scorpio, where can you be
exploring your own?
Emotional depths.
I love Oracle cards for this.

(15:43):
That's going to be a, that's awhole other podcast episode.
But thinking about using Oraclecards to safely explore your own
depths is really a cool thing todo.
And for you, your intensity isinsight.
That is something that mostpeople do not have.
One, the level of depth andintensity that you have.

(16:03):
Two, the level of insight thatyou have because of it.
Your BS meter is off the hook, like you are so good at spotting
BS.
Because of this deep need fortruth.
And I want you to see that as agift and as insight and trust
that, because it's a veryintuitive thing.
Most water placements tend to bevery intuitive.

(16:26):
It is not a flaw.
Your intensity is not a flaw.
It is insight.
Moon in Sagittarius is next.
Sagittarius is another firesign.
Aries is the spark that gets afire going.
Leo is the campfire that gathersothers around it to appreciate
its warmth.
Sagittarius is the fire of onetorch.

(16:48):
Flame being passed on toanother.
Sagittarius loves to learn, loves to teach, loves to
explore.
You need the ability to explorethings both mentally and
spiritually.
That's really important for you.
You can easily feel trapped orbored, and that's a good sign
that your needs are not beingmet.

(17:09):
You are fed by freedom andvision, by being able to see
something that's next and goingfor it yourself.
You're not somebody who is goingto go, okay, I want to go
explore this new place, so I'mgoing to have someone set the
itinerary for me.
You are going to go and you aregoing to set the itinerary, and
you're probably going to do itas you're walking through

(17:29):
whatever city or place, newplace that you're in because you
love that freedom of explorationand for you, freedom is not
indulgent and it's not selfish.
It is essential.
You have to be given the freedomto explore for yourself in order
to feel safe and successful.
If your moon is in Sagittarius,if your sun or your rising sign

(17:51):
is in Sagittarius that need anddrive and desire for freedom or
that, in the example of yourrising sign, kind of the filter
of looking at everythingthrough, how can I explore this,
how can I learn this, how can Iteach this?
That is like quintessentialSagittarius to me.
So thinking about that with yourmoon and Sagittarius, you need

(18:15):
freedom and exploration.
Give yourself that and make surethat you've got that, especially
when you think about at work.
Are you in a place where you getto explore or are you being told
what to do all the time?
If you are in the latter ofthat, I want you to find ways
that you can explore, right?
It may not be that you changeeverything overnight, but there
might be one little thing,"Hey,I really want to learn this new

(18:36):
thing.
Is that okay?
Can I go take this class?
Can I pursue thiscertification?" Maybe you do it
on your own, outside of work, whatever it is, find that thing
that you want to explore and godo it.
Moon in Capricorn, this is me.
My moon is in Capricorn, so I,feel very aligned with this.
I always get excited talkingabout it because I didn't ever
really understand this part ofmyself until I learned about the

(18:59):
moon sign.
That's why I think the moon signis so important because it
unlocks such a key element ofwho we are.
So if your moon is in Capricorn, you have a need for structure,
you have a need for mastery tokind of master something, but
you also have a need forachievement.
That's a big one.
So think about, capricorn is anearth sign.

(19:19):
It's like the top of theMatterhorn is how I describe it.
People who are climbing amountain like their, like the
Matterhorn, like K two, likeEverest.
Even just around me, I live nearthis Sierra Nevadas, some of our
mountains are nine, 10,000 feet.
You're not going to go frombeing at sea level up to the
mountain and climb it withouthaving done some kind of

(19:41):
preparation.
That is an achievement.
To be able to climb to the topof a mountain like that.
That is very much Moon andCapricorn energy is you want to
climb mountains, you want toachieve things, you want
structure, you need that senseof discipline.
Climbing a mountain is somethingthat requires that you go and

(20:03):
practice and get the gear andget in shape and make sure that
you can lug your pack with youwhile you're going.
It's not something that you justdo on a whim on the spur of the
moment, unless you've alreadybeen getting ready for that,
right?
Once you're prepared, you can godo that on at the spur.
On the spur of spur of themoment.
But you have to prepare forthat.

(20:25):
Progress makes you feel safe, soyou need to be in positions
where you are able to know whatyour goal is, what you're
working toward, and see howyou're making steps toward that.
Now the thing for you is youhave to also rest, and this can
be hard, right?
For me, it used to be I wouldonly rest when I burned out, and

(20:47):
then I would need a lot of timefor rest.
But thinking again about amountain climber, if you're
going to go to Everest and climbMount Everest, you're going to
go to a certain elevation andyou're going to chill at base
camp for a little while andacclimate there, and then you're
going to go on to the nextphase.
And that's something, A friendof mine shared that with me last

(21:07):
year and I loved it because it'sso helpful to think about that.
You need to rest with purpose, right?
You need to rest.
Give it a purpose, if that helpsyou to be able to rest and go
back to the moon cycles, right?
If we're working with the cyclesof the moon at the New Moon,
we're setting the intention, figuring out what our goal is.
We're taking action toward thatthroughout the whole month, the

(21:31):
whole moon cycle, and at the endwe have very intentional time
for rest.
So make sure that you're doingthat.
If you've got your moon inCapricorn.
Okay, moon and Aquarius, youhave a need for originality and
collective impact.
The collective is reallyimportant for you.
Some folks with a strongAquarius placement, see this?

(21:55):
Play out through technology,right?
Originality, technology, thosethings are very they're very
connected.
When Pluto went into Aquariusfor the first time in over 200
years, last year, as of thisrecording, we saw things like
chatGPT come to the market, andit just blew everyone's minds.

(22:17):
Nobody knew that our computerscould do that.
Not nobody, most of us in thenormal world did not know that.
But that's that kind oftechnology.
Um.
Technological originality thatwe're talking about that's good
for the collective or impactsthe collective.
Can it be bad?
Absolutely.
But there's been a lot of reallycool things that have come about

(22:40):
since chatGPT and other forms ofai came about into our kind of
collective consciousness andawareness and our ability to use
them on the whole.
Aquarius is another air sign andfollowing Capricorn that's up at
the peak of the mountain.
This is the air that's up thereat the peak of the mountain.

(23:01):
I also think of this as likebeing in a hot air balloon.
You can see from miles aroundyou on a clear day.
You can have that big pictureview.
You are visionary.
You are thinking about thefuture.
That is Aquarius, and you needto be in a role where you can do
that.
So at work, if you're not ableto be part of those who are

(23:23):
casting the vision for whatyou're doing, it doesn't even
have to be for the wholecompany.
It can be for a project, it canbe for your team, but you need
to be able to cast that vision.
That's huge for you becausethat's that like air quality of
being up on a mountain.
This is interesting because myson is an Aquarius, so my son is

(23:44):
an Aquarius, moon is inCapricorn.
I need the mountains.
I purposefully now live at thebase of the Sierra Nevada
Mountains and I can be in theTahoe National Forest in 45
minutes.
Or less from my house, and I amthere probably on a monthly
basis.
I am up in the mountains where Iget that air.

(24:05):
I get that height, I get thatability to like climb and hike
and do those things that I love, but it's also part of my cosmic
blueprint.
To be able to do that.
If your moon is an Aquarius, youmay feel like you are detached
from what's going on herebecause you're so focused on the

(24:26):
big picture, right?
You're kind of separated.
It's that visionary energy thatif you lean into, you can say,
it's not that I'm detached, it'sthat I'm visionary.
I don't necessarily have theemotional qualities that
somebody with their sun or moonor rising in Cancer is going to
have.
Now, if you have a strongplacement there, you might have

(24:47):
it, but if you don't, you maynot be a very emotional person.
And that's okay.
Tap into that vision more thanthe emotion.
If your moon is in Pisces, youhave a need to dream and feel
and dissolve boundaries.
I love that last part becausePisces is a water sign.

(25:07):
We had cancer is the beachScorpios the depths?
Pisces is, you know, I think ofone of the Great Lakes.
It's not necessarily the ocean, but when you are out there, or
even if you're on the edge ofone of the Great Lakes and
you're looking out, you cannotsee the other side.
That boundary is not visible.

(25:28):
That is Pisces.
I like to think of also likeVirgo, right?
Virgo wants all their ducks in arow.
Pisces is just happy that theducks are out floating on the
water.
I think of jellyfish with Piscesthat kind of just going with the
flow.
That is Pisces.
All right?
You need to feel, you need todream, you need to dissolve

(25:49):
boundaries.
You are incredibly intuitive.
You need softness and space andsoul.
You need spirit.
Things that are mystical,spiritual.
Those are really important foryou.
So for you, especially if youdon't have a strong earth
placement or another placementthat might bring some boundaries

(26:10):
into your life.
If you have a lot of water or alot of water and air, you are
very much a go with the flowkind of a person, and your flow
is sacred.
Trust that because by youallowing yourself to flow more,
your needs are going to be metand it's going to be a lot
easier to do the other thingsthat you want.

(26:31):
You are a dreamer and you needto be in positions where you are
allowed to dream.
And if you're not there rightnow, set some time for yourself.
Maybe it's during your lunchbreak, maybe it's just, you
know, you just set 10 minutesof, I'm just going to sit back
and just let my mind wander.
That can be Pisces that can filla little bit of that need that

(26:54):
you have.
Okay.
Do you see how knowing your moonsign can really start to unlock
new things within you?
I think it's really cool.
For me, again, learning about myCapricorn moon it just gave me
permission to go, oh, it's notthat I'm always discontent.
That was what I had been tellingmyself that, ugh, why can't I

(27:17):
just be more content with whereI'm at?
It's, I need to achieve things,I need to set goals and go after
those big goals and go after bigthings.
That's huge for me, and I'vegotta figure out how to bring
rest into that because noteverybody wants to be climbing a
mountain all day every day.
I physically can't do that allday every day.

(27:39):
So how do we find out what isour need?
How do we meet those needs thatwe have and what do those needs
speak to?
That might be patterns like withCapricorn of overworking,
Thinking about what could be theshadow side of that.
That's another conversation thatwe'll have.

(27:59):
One of, well, two of my favoriteresources for this, if you want
to go deeper, are the book YouWere Born for This by Chanie
Nicholas.
That's just, that is my numberone favorite astrology book.
I'll put a link to that in theshow notes.
If you ha don't have that yetand you want to learn more about
your own astrology.
That is like the number one bookI would recommend.

(28:19):
The other has a book called StarChild, and that one is by a
woman named Brianna Saucy, Ithink S-A-U-S-S-Y.
I will also link to that.
This one is actually aboutparenting through astrology.
But what I love about it iswhether you are a parent or not
a caregiver or not, you'll learnso much about yourself and why

(28:41):
you needed what you did as a kidand why you need what you need
now.
So that's another one that Ireally love for understanding
how our signs point to ourdeeper needs, The other resource
I've already talked about is theguide that I've put together
that is a very short guide.
If you order one of these booksand want something for right now
while you're waiting for them.
I would say go tomosttrueyou.com/guide.

(29:02):
Again, that's in the show notesand download the guide that I've
put together.
These are two of the resourcesthat I used in putting that
together, but it will show youhow to find your Sun, moon, and
Rising sign.
Give you some ideas of what eachof them mean.
The other thing that I lovethat's in there is like a kind
of a, like, Hey, here's somethings to be aware of based on
these signs.
And so where we talked aboutCapricorn, for example, maybe

(29:26):
lending or leaning towardsoverworking, there's something
like that for each of the signs.
So thinking about how thesemight be challenging in terms of
their interplay with others.
And when you think about work, that's where a lot of our
challenges come from isinterpersonal dynamics.
So highly recommend that youcheck that out if you haven't
yet.
It's really easy to go throughand it's really pretty.

(29:47):
Okay, friends, this has been somuch fun.
I love, for me, the moon is mymost favorite of all the signs
to talk about.
It's my favorite one to helppeople look at.
I do offer chart readings, so ifyou want someone to go deep into
your chart with you, I wouldlove to be that person.
There will also be a link in theshow notes for that.

(30:10):
It's mosttrueyou.com/readings.
And yeah, I love doing the chartreadings.
Those are, that's really fun toget to look through that with
others.
So happy, happy learning aboutyour moon day and if you have
questions, you can alwayscontact me at
hello@mosttrueyou.com.
