This episode of Pirate Cat Radio KPCR (101.9 FM Santa Cruz, 92.9 FM Los Gatos) was initially planned as a Halloween special, but due to a scheduling change, host Mike Park decided to make it a "just whatever" show with no particular theme. Joined by his friend Randy Moore, who was enjoying pizza and a Sprite, Mike celebrated their (approximate) six-week anniversary of doing the show.
Throughout the broadcast, Mike played a mix of punk and indie tracks, including bands he regretted not signing in the past, like Scowl. He also fielded calls from dedicated listeners. One caller, Julie from Massachusetts (originally New Jersey), and her husband Steve, were regular listeners who enjoyed watching the show live every Wednesday. They discussed classic monster movies, with Julie and Mike agreeing that Creature from the Black Lagoon was a favorite. Another caller, Alexis from Michigan, asked about non-music related brand sponsorships, leading to a humorous discussion about Lay's potato chips, Detroit-style pizza, and the host's love for free movie tickets. The episode also featured a playful debate about whether The Beatles or The Rolling Stones were better, with Mike firmly declaring The Beatles as the superior band.
