Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to My vertical Obsession. I am your host, Megan,
and today we are talking about the Wrong Twin Got
Me Pregnant on Drama Box and this stars Gabrielle faith
Brown as Chanel and Shane Davis as Ace and Axel Carrington.
So the synopsis for this one is, after countless rutality treatments,

(00:20):
Janelle is finally pregnant, but the baby daddy is her
husband's twin, not her husband. With a billion dollar empire
on the line, Janelle's husband and family matriarch are willing
to go to any length to claim the air as
his own child. So this one I actually had to
do three kind of character breakdowns because you have Ace

(00:41):
and Axel, who were two being characters in this whole thing.
So first we'd start off with Chanelle, who was upon
in the game. She didn't know she was even part
of She thought Ace loved her and wanted a family
with her, without knowing that his mother wanted an heir
so he could get the company, which would allow his
mother to keep it running it. She was never really

(01:03):
liked by Ace's mother and often abused by her. This
is why the mother wanted to get rid of Chanel.
Once the baby was born, Chanelle wasn't about to let
her hurt her or the baby. So when she learned
that this was just a scheme and Ace would always
choose his mother and Sloan's side his girlfriend, she was done.
After meeting Axel, she was given a place to land.

(01:24):
He also helped keep her safe and protected from his
mother and brother. She was determined to stand on her
own and not let them push her around again. She
was also determined to allow the true father, Axel, to
be a part of the baby's life and not let
Ace or his mother take the baby. So she was
definitely one who wanted to stand on her own. She

(01:46):
didn't want any help, even though Axel was offering it
to her. She still wasn't big on taking his help.
But in the end the two were very good. They
found love within each other. But poor Chanelle was just
a upon in the scheme that Ace and exled mother
was trying to run. Now you have Ace who is

(02:07):
a total mama's boy and very easily manipulated his mother
moulled him into what she needed to keep her position
of power in the company, and he just went along
with it all. He followed his mother blindly. When he
found out about what his mother did to get him
a baby, he was mad at first, but then continue
to go along with the plan. When he found out

(02:27):
his mother wanted to kill Chanel at the baby before,
he didn't do anything to protect her. He even allowed Sloane,
his ex girlfriend, to manipulate him. She twisted things to
get her way with Ace, and he never stood up
or fought back. He choose to believe his mother and
Sloane over his own wife Chanel. He was a fool
who couldn't see what was right in front of him.

(02:49):
That led him to make the wrong choices and end
up getting in trouble. He was a pawn that could
be moved whichever way Mama or Sloane wanted. He was
never really his own person. That was also one thing
he saw with Ace is that his mother manipulated him,
and even Sloane, his ex girlfriend, kind of manipulated him

(03:11):
to do what she wanted. And you saw that very
much at the end when he tried to kill Chanel,
But it was very much Sloane who was pulling that string.
Sloane just didn't want to get her hands dirty. Now
onto Axel Axel was sent away for he couldn't be
molded and held the secret of his mother's ruin. He

(03:32):
was his father's son and his mother knew he wouldn't
be able to help her keep the company, so she
sent him away. But when Ace couldn't secure the air
she needed, she turned to Axel. She just never told
him and led Ace to believe a lie. Axel watched
his father die and knew it wasn't natural, but since
his father told him to protect family, he lied with

(03:55):
the truth of who killed him. All these years after
finding out the baby and it being his, he did
everything he could to Protectionel and the baby, to Protectionel
from all the things his mother was planning. He knew
she just wanted control of the company. He was a
bit reserved, but between military school and military and knowing

(04:16):
who killed his father, that can do that to a person.
Watching your father die and knowing and keeping that secret
can take a toll. In the end, he uses that
to give Chanel the power and protection to protect his
new family, So he definitely kind of lived with I
feel I wouldn't say the guilt, but with the weight
of knowing who killed his father, and I think that

(04:39):
kind of affected him growing up, especially since his father
told him to protect family and that's what he did,
Otherwise he could have gotten that person in trouble. So
the breakdown of the story is the story of Chanelle,
who was upon and a toll in someone else's scheme
that her husband was just part of the scheme and
chose that scheme over her. She wasn't the only pawn.

(05:02):
Her husband's twin brother was also dragged in as well.
Chanell realizes the person you love isn't always the person
you were with or who you thought. Thankfully, Axel, who
was dragged into this game, was willing to fight back
and help Chanel, which led to the two to get
close and fall for each other. Chanell was tricked and
used all by the people who were supposed to care

(05:24):
for her. All they wanted was the baby to keep
control and the power they had. Since Ace was just
a MoMA's boy, he allowed her to be mistreated. Pace
may have cared for Chanel, but his need to please
his mother outweighed that. Chanel and Axel joined together to
protect their baby and bring Axel his mother and Sloan
the x down there refused to be the pawns anymore,

(05:47):
and after these years, Axel had the smoking gun to
take his mother down, but kept it to ensure she
was to leave them alone, because that is how it
ended with Axel going to his mother tell her that
he knows what she did and he will use that
if she doesn't leave them alone. So instead of bringing
it to the police, he just uses it to hold

(06:10):
over her head, kind of like a way to keep
her in line, kind of like what she did get
Ace all these years. In a sense, I'd say, so
some of the things that I had for this her
comments and questions is the first one. I will just
praise the hell out of Shane because he played Ace

(06:30):
and Axel so well. They were so different it seemed
like it was two different actors or show. And sometimes
I think that that's not very easy to do if
you're an actor playing twins, because you have to work
to make them different otherwise they'll seem similar. And I
know one example I have that I wanted to write

(06:53):
down with the Disney Show Live and Maddie dub Karen
played the twins on that show, and for the longest
time before I realized it was played just by Dove Cameron,
I thought they were played by two different actors. I
didn't realize it was just one actress. Once I did
learn that, my brain still doesn't process that. It's still like,

(07:13):
there's no way this is the same actress playing both
roles because they are just so different. And I guess
that also stems from it being that the actor or
actress is just that amazing in their acting that they
can do that. And I feel like Shane really did
that for Asanaxel because they were just so different and

(07:36):
so easily be like, oh, yeah, that's definitely two different characters.
You could definitely tell the difference between which and it's
not just simply because they have a whole different look,
but it was mannerisms and how they acted and how
they kind of foke was very different, and you could
just tell they were two different people even though I

(07:58):
was played by the same person. I said, I just
I have to praise Shane on that because fantastic job.
I would never have guessed if I didn't know that
it was the same actor, would never have guessed. I
would have thought it was two different actors. But he
did a phomhenomenal job with that. So another thing one
of them's an editing mistake. The other one's more I

(08:20):
just a mistake mistake. So this editing mistake kind of
annoyed me because it was just so prominent and it
was just so in your face you couldn't miss it,
And as soon as it happened, I was like, wait
a minute, what just happened. So when Chanell, Ace, and
Sloane are at the hospital and Sloane and Ace come

(08:41):
in and point the gun at Chanel in one episode,
how it's showing is that Chanelle is facing the right
side and Sloane and Ace are pointing the gun at
her that way, so that's all good. It works. In
the next episode, Chanelle is facing the left side and
Sloane and Ace haven't moved. They're still in the same position.

(09:04):
So it's just like, how why I could get if
they were trying to like be like, oh, well, we'll
show it from a different angle, but it just was
so jarring of a transition. It was almost like they
forgot to flip it, or they flipped the wrong scene
something like that, but either way, it's just it switched.
And then in the third episode following that one, it

(09:25):
switched back to Chanel facing the right side, and I'm
just like that that was way off and weird. And
it's one of those things where it was like I
had to go back and be like, did that really
just happen? But it just it was a you couldn't
miss it. It was right there, Its prominent, and it
just it made me upset to see it in there
because it just it threw off the vibe of the

(09:48):
scene because it's also supposed to be like this very
intense scene and Jenelle is supposed to be pleading to Ace,
whereas Ace and Sloane or trying to get rid of Chanel.
So it kind of threw off the scene a little
because I was more focused on the fact that the
perspective of Chanel moved. It's just and it kind of
makes me question how they edit these series. Do they

(10:11):
edit it all at once or do they edit it
one episode at a time and then slice it together.
And I actually had done this whole episode where I
had all these questions, one of them being editing and
how it's all put together, which I may actually post,
but that was kind of one question I'd be interested
to learn how they edit the series. Is it one

(10:32):
big edit or small, little edits because it's on the
app under episodes like minute long episodes. It does make
me question how editing works, and I would love to
know how that all works to kind of understand it
a little bit more. Plus I think I've mentioned it before,
It's like, I'm very big on production and editing and

(10:54):
I love how things work and how the behind the
scenes all goes. So I would definitely to explore that
aspect one day. And the other mistake that wasn't as big,
but it's still kind of jumped out to me a
little bit. Is following that hospital scene when a shoots
the gun, Axel comes in and he jumps in front

(11:16):
and ends up shot, and the way look he ends
up shot in the right shoulder. But then when he
shows up at Chanell's I don't think it of Chanelle's house.
I think it's actually Axel's house, but in the bedroom,
Chanelle's there waiting for him. When he shows up, he's
got his left arm in a sling, as if his
left arm was shot, which brings me back to if

(11:39):
he was shot in the left arm, then the scene
where Chanelle was facing the left would make more sense,
and maybe that was supposed to be the correct where
she was facing versus the other two episodes where she
was facing the right, So it kind of connected the
two of me questioning how it all worked. But it
was definitely one of those things that I was like, wait,

(12:01):
he was shot in the wrong shoulder. Made me a
little confused, But again that one wasn't as bad. I
could definitely kind of like ignore that one a little
bit easier than the editing mistake that I saw prior.
And then the funal thing that I had was the
conversation between Axel and his mother, and it made me
kind of question is the whole series? And I don't

(12:24):
know if it was intended to do that or if
I just misunderstood the context of what he said. But
at the same time, I was kind of like, well,
this kind of gives it a sense of wait, maybe
what we know is not what actually happened. So like
at the bedside, Axel said to his mother that he
would spill all the secrets he knew of her if

(12:45):
she came near Chanel or the baby again, and the
way he phrased the comment until you needed me is
what made me question if he actually did know about
the baby beforehand, because he had told Janelle that he
did not know about the baby and that if he did,
he would have either stopped it or shown up sooner.
But it's just the way he had phrased that to

(13:05):
her is like, oh, until you needed me. That made
me kind of question And again, if it was just
me misunderstanding the tone and the intention behind that, I
can understand that. But at the same time, I'm kind
of like, if it brings up the whole questioning whether
or not he knew, maybe it was like supposed to

(13:26):
be kind of like both that you questioned did he
know and also to the sense of, well, he's just
simply saying that you only needed me when all else
failed by using his sample to get Chanelle pregnant type
of thing. So I kind of feel like it could
go both ways, or that they put that wording in

(13:47):
there intentionally to kind of be like, oh, well, we'll
leave it up to the audience to be like, oh, well,
did he know or did he not know? Kind of thing.
So I kind of like that maybe it was a
little bit like that, But at the same time, I
also kind of think that the context of the way
it was phrased, I just misunderstood. All in all, I
did enjoy the series. It was really good. I loved

(14:11):
Shane playing book Ace and Axel, how dramatically different the
two characters were, and how Axel came in and was
able to step up and be there for Chanel and
help her out while also allowing her to fight her
own battles, but doing it in a way that he
kind of gave her the stability to do it in

(14:32):
a sense. And I was happy that they got to
end up together and have a nice little family at
the end. I do kind of feel sad for Ace
in the sense that he got so manipulated that he
ended up getting put in jail, and truly it's his
own fault. He only has himself to blame, truly, But
at the same time, it's like if he fought back

(14:53):
at all or didn't really listen to his mother's Sloane,
maybe things could have been different, because, I mean, he
knew what his mother did with the switch of the baby.
He knew his mother wanted to kill Chanel, and he
still stood there and did nothing. He could have stepped
up and protected Chanel, but he chose Sloan and his

(15:14):
mother and he allowed them to manipulate him and tell
him lies that he believed, so I kind of feel
a little bit bad for him, but not too much.
And that ending, too, was not what I expected at all.
And again they set it up for possibly a sequel.
I wonder if they will do one, but they definitely

(15:35):
did kind of set it up with Sloan's character doing
what he did, but will be interesting to see. So
for this one, I gave it a reading of seven
point four out of ten, and that is nothing to
say bad against this. I would definitely recommend it because again,
Shaging playing both characters was just so fun to watch
and I think that was like the highlight of the

(15:57):
whole series for me. And there were some things that
were a little bit of an issue, one, like I said,
being the editing mistake that I saw that kind of
took me out of the story and took me out
of the scene, so that kind of added to it.
But all in all, this was a good story. I
enjoyed it. It was fun, and I would love to
hear your thoughts on the story. Did you happen to

(16:19):
notice that editing mistake? Did it jump out at you
like it did me. Did you have any favorite moments.
Was there anything that you didn't like about it? So
you don't let me know. This has been the wrong
twin got me pregnant from trauma. Box I am your host, Mey.
This has been my vertical obsession until next day.
