I was at an AI training seminar a few weeks ago and someone asked the presenter what the environmental impact of AI was and he froze, stuttered and eventually said "if it's going to kill us all it'll kill us all". It made me wonder, are these the sentiments of AI when it comes to climate change? What actually is the impact? Is it all negative? Are there any positives? Will it indeed kill us all??
