In episode 10 of our ongoing series Lens on the environment, we meet Kavya Saxena, a visionary founder of Craftpotli, an initiative dedicated to building an ecosystem for Adivasi tribal crafts from various parts of India.
Despite her corporate career, Kavya remained deeply connected to India's diverse cultures and villages by frequently visiting neighbouring towns.
The COVID-19 lockdown pushed her to pursue this passion full-time and she began travelling where saw the need to support tribal artisans.
Stay tuned and listen to the episode as we delve deeper into Kavya's inspiring story and the impact of Craftpotli.
Kavya's journey began in the corporate world, where her weekends were dedicated to exploring the cultural diversity of India's villages. She moved to Odisha, immersing herself in the local culture and earning the trust of villagers. Craftpotli now helps tribal artisans showcase their products, connecting them with brands across the country and maintaining a robust supply chain.
Kavya's efforts extend to collaborating with the Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat governments to promote tribal crafts and craft tourism. She aims to make CraftPotli the largest ecosystem for crafts in India, providing a platform for tribes and their crafts.
Tune in as we learn more about her mission to unravel the rich heritage of Indian villages.
