For a number of years, April Hutchinson was considered a functioning alcoholic. In 2019, when she left the rehab, she started focusing on powerlifting. She channeled all her energy to be the best she could be on that sport, and in 2022 she became Gold Medal at the Canada Nationals. She continued to collect medals by winning the North America Championship and placing fourth at the Worlds. In this episode April talks about this journey, how she won her battle with alcohol, what she learned thought the process, her new battle for fairness in women's sports, and her plans for the future.
