Welcome back to aux News developing story. The January sixth
pipe bomb suspect Brian Jerome Cole Junior confronted federal charges
in court as his family erupted during the hearing. On
December fifth, Cole appeared in federal court accused of planting
pipe bombs near the RNC and DNC headquarters on January fifth,

twenty twenty one. Prosecutors say DNA chemical residue, surveillance footage,
and cell phone data tie him directly to the bombs.
As prosecutors outline the case, members of Cole's family shouted
messages of support from the gallery, yelling we love you
Brian and stay strong before being escorted out. The courtroom

atmosphere was tense, with victim's advocates calling the bombs a
near miss catastrophe. Cole's attorneys argued he should be released
pending trial, citing his cooperation with investigators since his arrest,
but prosecutors insist the charges reflect one of the most
dangerous plots tied to January sixth. For Coal, the fight

is just beginning. For his family, the message is clear
they're standing by him, and for America, the case is
a reminder of how close the nation came to tragedy.
