Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, listeners, thanks for tuning in. It's time for another
episode of the Paranormal Activity Podcast, a show dedicated to
all things weird. To day's episode, We're going to dive
into some of the strangest happenings that I could think of.
In nineteen fifty nine, the dialt Lav Pass incident in
(00:20):
Russia where ten experienced hikers from the Ural Polytechnic Institute
set off on a trek through the Ural Mountains in
Soviet Russia. Their leader, Igor Dayatlav, planned an ambitious route
(00:44):
through the region now known as the Datlav Pass. One hiker,
ur Audin, fell ill and turned back, unintentionally saving his life.
The remaining nine continued onward. When the group failed to return,
(01:09):
a search party was sent out. On February twenty sixth
rescuers discovered their tent, which had been mysteriously cut open
from inside. Nearby the bodies of the hikers were scattered
in bizarre condition. Some were dressed in only socks and
(01:34):
underwear despite freezing temperatures. Others had suffered brutal injuries, fractured skulls,
broken ribs, but with no external wounds. One woman Layudmila
(01:57):
d'abinina was missing her tongue and eyes. There were traces
of radiation detected on some of the clothing. Soviet authorities
suggested a snow slab avalanche forced them to flee in panic,
(02:22):
leading to hypothermia and injuries. However, no clear avalanche evidence
was found. Some believe the hikers stumbled upon a secret
military test, possibly involving parachute mines or chemical weapons, which
(02:43):
led to fatal injuries or forced them to flee. Reports
claim glowing orange orbs seen in the sky near Dotlov
passed that night, fueling u f O or other paranormal speculation.
(03:09):
Some theorists propose a cryptid attack, citing massive footprints found
in the area. In twenty nineteen, the Russian authorities reopened
the case, concluding that an avalanche was responsible. However, many
believe the official explanation ignores the unusual details, especially the
(03:35):
lack of typical avalanche pattern in the hiker's extreme injuries. Next,
let's take a look at the disappearance of these solder
children in nineteen forty five. On Christmas Eve, December twenty fourth,
(03:57):
nineteen forty five, George and Jennie Souter, Italian immigrants living
in Fayetteville, West Virginia, were celebrating with their ten children.
That night, a fire broke out in their home, consuming
it within forty five minutes. George and Jeannie, along with
(04:24):
four of their children, managed to escape. However, five of
these Soughter children, Maurice, Martha, Louis, Jenny, and Betty, were
never seen again. Despite the house being completely burned down,
(04:49):
no remains of the five children were found. Normally, bones
would have survived the fire, but there were none. The
authorities concluded the children perished in the fire, yet some
strange circumstances suggested otherwise. The phone lines had been cut
(05:10):
before the fire started. The latter used to escape was
missing and later found hidden seventy five feet away. There
are trucks which George intended to use to reach children
wouldn't start. A witness claimed to have seen a man
(05:31):
throwing a fire bomb, possibly a Miletov cocktail, onto the
house before the fire began. A witness saw a group
of children matching the Solder children's description in a car
watching the fire. A woman in Charleston, fifty miles away,
claimed to have served breakfast to the five children with
(05:54):
Italian accidents the morning after the fire. A hotel employee
in South Carolina later claimed she saw the children with
two men of Italian descent. In nineteen sixty five, the
Sawders received an anonymous photograph of a man who closely
resembled Lewis, one of the missing children. The back of
(06:15):
the photo read Lewis Sowder, I love brother Frankie Little Boys.
Some believe George Sowder, who was outspoken against Italian dictator
Benito Mussolini, angered pro Mussolini sympathizers, leading them to abduct
(06:35):
his children in retaliation. Given the sightings of the children,
some theorized that they were kidnapped and sold into the
illegal adoption ring. A radical theory suggests these children were
taken by someone they knew and the fire was staged
as a cover up. These Sawters never gave up searching
(06:57):
for their children. They erected a billboard on Roots sixteen
displaying their photographs and possible evidence. Genie Sower wore black
for the rest of her life. The case remains unsolved
to this day, and no bodies or definitive answers have
ever been found. In nineteen sixty six and nineteen sixty seven,
(07:24):
a phenomena known as the Mothman spurred excitement in the US.
The legend of the Mofman originates from Point Pleasant, West Virginia,
small town, where between November nineteen sixty six and December
nineteen sixty seven, dozens of people reported seeing a strange,
(07:50):
winged creature with glowing red eyes. These sightings became linked
to a tragic event, the collapse of the Silver Bridge
on December fifteenth, nineteen sixty seven, which killed forty six people.
The most famous encounter occurred on November fifteenth, nineteen sixty six,
(08:12):
when two young couples, Roger and Linda Scarberry and Steven
Mary Molette, were driving near an abandoned World War II
munitions plant known as the T and T Area. They
saw a tall, humanoid figure with massive wings and glowing
red eyes. The creature chased their car at speeds of
(08:35):
over one hundred miles per hour before they managed to escape.
A contractor named Newell Partridge claims to have seen glowing
red eyes and his barn and heard an eerie mechanical
sound humming. His dog ran after the creature and was
never seen again. A group of Grave diggers reported seeing
(09:00):
a large, dark figure fly over them at a cemetery
just days before the first major signing. Witnesses described a
sense of overwhelming fear and unease, as if the creature
could induce panic just by looking at them. On December fifteenth,
(09:24):
nineteen sixty seven, the Silverbridge connecting Point Pleasant to Ohio
suddenly collapsed during rush hour, plunging cars into the icy
Ohio River and killing forty six people. After the disaster,
Mofman's sightings stopped entirely. This led to speculation that Mofman
(09:46):
was a harbinger of doom, warning people of impending tragedy.
Some even believe he was responsible for the collapse. Some
believe Mathman is not a physical creature, but an entity
from another dimension, possibly related to UFO activity around the
(10:06):
same time UFOs and men in black were reported in
the area. He could be a cryptied or unknown animal.
Some skeptics suggest that Mafman was simply a misidentified sandhill crane,
a large bird with red markings around its eyes. Given
that the TNT area was a former military facility, some
(10:30):
speculate that Mothman was the result of a secret experiment
gone wrong. A Native American chief Cornstalk, was killed in
Point Pleasant in seventeen seventy seven. Legend says he cursed
the town, and some believe Mothman is part of this curve. Folks. Unfortunately,
(10:51):
that's all the time we've got for today's episode of
Paranormal Activity. I hope you've enjoyed it. What was your
favorite part? And until next time, I can't thank you
enough for listening until then,
