What About Deliveries?

Deadlines don’t wait for car seats, Texas heat, or a broken-down sedan at the mercantile. We dig into how curbside service and local deliveries turn shipping from a hassle into a quick win, letting you pull up, signal the team, and roll out with packages handled and mailbox contents in hand. James breaks down the small operational moves—like pre-staging orders when a customer calls from the “famous red light”—that save minutes when they matter most and keep late fees and missed cutoffs at bay.

We walk through the origin story: a commitment to accessibility that started with disabled customers and grew into a service many families now rely on. That means designated spots near the door, staff who meet you at your car, and a standing promise that if we’re open, curbside is on. For deliveries and pickups, we share how we handle tracking, time stamps, and photos for proof—plus signature-required options when needed—so you get the same peace of mind you expect from major carriers, without the runaround. We also talk real life in Frisco: the parents juggling buckles and naps, the solo entrepreneurs hustling between calls, and the folks who simply can’t afford to lose an hour to a ten-second task.

Then we look ahead to ParcelPedia Mobile, our next step toward true on-demand logistics. Picture a trained driver arriving with boxes, tape, a scale, and live rate tools. You show the item, pick a service, get a label, and it ships—no commute, no lobby line, no sweat. It’s a practical solution for work-from-home schedules, caregivers, and small business owners who need decisions at the door. Along the way, we share why customers keep calling these services lifesavers: not because they’re flashy, but because they turn intention into action with fewer steps and more certainty.

If convenience, accessibility, and reliable tracking can make your week smoother, this one’s for you. Subscribe for more behind-the-counter insights, share with a friend who needs faster shipping wins, and leave a review to tell us which feature you want next.

(00:26):
smile.
Here's your host, James Banks, owner of Parcelpedia.

SPEAKER_01 (00:32):
Think Parcelpedia's just a shipping store?
Think again.
James Banks reveals how they gothe extra mile.
Literally.
Welcome back, everyone.
I'm Sophia Yvette, co-host andproducer, back in the studio
today with owner of Parcelpedia,James Banks.
James, how have you been today?

SPEAKER_02 (00:50):
Hey, Sophia, I've been doing very well.
How about you?

SPEAKER_01 (00:52):
I've also been doing well and glad to be back with
you today, James.
Now let's talk aboutParcelpedia's curbside services
and how you run deliveries too.

SPEAKER_02 (01:01):
Oh yeah, for sure.
I'd love to talk about that.
Yeah, so I've the soundscurbside service.
You can pull to Parcelpedia, youcan give us a call, you can call
ahead of time, and if we see youcan flash your lights, I mean
whatever you need to do to get ahold of us.
And we'll come out to you.
So it's something we'd like todo.
Obviously, it helps a lot withany of our like handicapped
customers, anyone that's just, you know, may have children or
like babies in the car, they'resleeping, pets in the car.

(01:24):
Just something where it's justit's a hassle, right?
To get out, especially when it'ssomething easy, like I'm just
dropping a box off, or you know,I just need to check my mail.
We're more than happy to run outto you and and bring it to you.
Just it seems so simple andsounds like, yeah, what's the
big deal?
It really just helps a lot.
I mean, it really helps so manypeople for so many different
reasons.
Some of the ones I named.

(01:44):
So if you are ever, you know, Iguess weighing your options
like, am I gonna do this errandtoday?
Like, oh man, I got the kidswith me, I got this, I'm I'm
gonna have to save it fortomorrow.
Don't miss a deadline, you know.
Don't don't be late, don't getin trouble at work because you
you push something fast today.
We're here to help.
You know, you can call us aheadof time.
We have plenty of customers thatcall you, like, hey, I'm at that
red light.
And you know, it's like thefamous red light, which means

(02:05):
it's about we got a two to threeminute window before they get
there.
And so we have everything readyfor them.
They pull up, and as soon asthey pull up, their packages and
their mail are right there, theyjust get loaded up, and then
they're gone, you know.
So we love to have that abilityto help.
If I could put a drive-thru inhere, I would, and you know, I I
don't have that ability justyet, but um, we're trying to
make things just streamline foreveryone.
We know the world is always inthat, you know, gotta go, gotta

(02:28):
go pace.
A lot of people are workingmultiple jobs these days, right?
A lot of people have their ownkind of projects, own companies
on their side.
And so when you're handling somany things and you're a parent
or you know, you're a spouse andyou're trying to run around and
get things done.
We get, you know, it sounds sofirst world problem-ish, like,
oh, I have to get out of my car,but it's the thing, right?

(02:49):
I mean, if you have kids, if youhave a sleeping baby, if you
have a pet, no one wants to haveto get out of the car, undo the
car seat, get them out, bringthem inside, literally spend 10
seconds doing what you got todo, and then go spend another
five minutes redoing all thestuff you just did.
You know, it's just a it's apain.
The Texas heat gets crazy.
I I'm in a bucket of sweat everytime I get my kids in and out of

(03:09):
the car, in the car seat, nomatter what.
So I know exactly how that paingoes.
So it's just something we loveto offer.
It doesn't matter what time ofthe day, literally any time, if
we're open, we will offer thatservice.
So obviously, it it definitelystarted with uh customers we
have that were handicapped.
Obviously, with them gettingout, we have handicapped spots
in the parking lot, but not notenough, in my opinion.
And they're a little bit furtheraway from our store than I would

(03:31):
like.
So this was our way to kind ofcounteract that.
It's like, hey, you know, if youwere to park there, it's still a
hassle because you now you gottacome somehow get all the way
down to us.
So it's like instead park righthere in our designated spot and
we'll come straight to you andyou don't have to move a muscle.
So it's really a service that'sall in the spirit of just giving
back and helping and just tryingto be that that extra piece of

(03:52):
the puzzle, you know, just thatthing that's like, hey, you
know, I actually can get thisdone because I can swing this by
and I don't have to get out ofthe car.
I'll I'll call the parcelpediaguys and they'll just come to my
car for me.
And and we have no problem doingthat.
We'd love to do it and love tohelp.
So if there's anything else, Idon't know, Sophie, maybe some
other things you can think of,some reasons why someone would
like a curbside.
I mean, you name it, I think wecould probably handle that too.
I was just spitballing a fewthings I know we've done in the

(04:13):
past, but I don't know.
You have any questions?
You maybe our viewers would likelike different ideas.

SPEAKER_01 (04:19):
Yeah, I definitely do.
What areas or neighborhoods doyou currently serve?

SPEAKER_02 (04:24):
Um, so definitely we serve mainly Frisco.
So mainly Frisco, definitelylike the North Frisco area.
When we do actually like pickupsto your home address, that's the
only thing we have to like makesure we have enough people here
to cover the store, right?
But if you're coming to us or ifyou're in a nearby area, some
people have been not even in ourparking lot.
They're like, hey, I'm over bythe mercantile and you know my
car broke down, but I reallyneed to get this package out.
And I'm like, okay, I'll beright there, don't worry.

(04:46):
You know, and so I hate to putlike a limit on what where or
who we can help, but for justgeneral sake, definitely like
the greater fiscal areas wherewe typically help out.

SPEAKER_01 (04:55):
So is this service available year-round or is it
just during peak seasons?

SPEAKER_02 (05:01):
No, year round, anytime.
Anytime.

SPEAKER_01 (05:04):
How do you ensure security and proper handling
during these deliveries?

SPEAKER_02 (05:09):
So just like tracking, basically, right?
So we have a record of when it'sleft, and we have a record of
when it's been delivered.
And then that there's always thecheckpoints.
If it's a longer trip,checkpoints in between.
If it's somewhere very close toFrisco, it's mainly just left,
you know, at this time of thepackage, package was delivered
at this time.
It's recorded, pictures taken, similar to if you're like an

(05:29):
Amazon delivery, FedEx delivery.
Um, obviously, we're trying togive it to you face to face, but
if you're not home and we'reaware you're not home, we will
leave it and we'll let you knowit's been left off or dropped
off.
So, very similar to how mostpeople are used to getting
things and you know delivered tothem, very same thing.
If you request, you know, Idon't want this delivered unless
I'm home, you know, make suresomeone's somewhere to sign for
it, we'll do that same thing.
So again, we try to make it asaccommodating to the customer on

(05:52):
a customer by customer basis.
But again, it's it's pretty muchfollowing the standard of what
most people see if they'regetting like an overnight
shipment or a secured shipment.
We you know, we don't leave itif it's doesn't want to be left,
um, but we don't hold it if youwant if you need it there.
So just trying to accommodate.

SPEAKER_01 (06:09):
Now, what kind of feedback have you received from
customers using these services?

SPEAKER_02 (06:13):
They love it.
They love it.
They're like, Man, you gotta doeverything, you know?
Like, man, this really saved me.
This when we do the curb sideand when we do the delivery,
those are two things where youhear the line, you guys are
lifesavers, like more than anyother time.
You hear that one all the time.
Because it's it really, youknow, it's like, man, I think
the customer when they get thepackage or when they get the
service, it just kind of reallyrings true for them.

(06:36):
What all like headache they kindof avoided, you know, all the
steps they could had to takethat they didn't have to take.
So I think it just kind ofbrings it forward for them and
and they're very appreciative ofthat.
So definitely love hearing that, and and you know, definitely
inspires us to keep keep itgoing and pushing forward.

SPEAKER_01 (06:53):
Most definitely, final question for you today,
James What is the future ofParcelpedia like concerning
curbside services?

SPEAKER_02 (07:02):
Future.
So I have an idea, and it's anidea that's in progress, not
very fleshed out yet, butdefinitely doable, and that is
gonna be a mobile shippingservice.
So almost similar to pickups andsimilar deliveries, but in the
sense where a driver comes toyou, and on not necessarily on
site, but on their person, theyhave the necessary items, their

(07:23):
tape, their boxes, the scale, and they can give you pricing
right there, right?
So you have a package, you knowit needs to be shipped out, but
you you're stuck in meetings allday, you're working from home, I
can't get out.
Well, Parcelpedia Mobile comesto you, boom, boom, weighs it,
lets you know your rates, youroptions.
Okay, I'll pick that one, boom, and it gets shipped out for you.
Hey, that's you know, that's tothe next level.

(07:44):
So keep on the lookout on thehorizon for that.
Uh Parcelpedia Mobile comingsoon to the door near you.

SPEAKER_01 (07:53):
Well, James, thank you so much for showing us how
Parcelpedia keeps conveniencefront and center.
We'll see you next time.

SPEAKER_02 (08:01):
