It happens to everyone eventually. It might as well be one of the facts of life, like death and taxes. But retirements in professional sports tend to happen much earlier in life than most of us in the real world will experience. And for the stars of the game - the way they do it can often be memorable, if not controversial. 2024 was a unique year in tennis b/c we saw 3 stars of the game (Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray, Dominic Thiem) finally retire from the sport they love. In my 1st episode, I look back at these 3 major players - each of whom won Grand Slams - and analyze their retirements. How did they do it? Why did they do it in 2024? Should they have done it earlier? What lessons can future retirees learn from these 3 - the good, the bad, and the avoidable? And finally...who's next this year?!
