SPEAKER_01 (00:15):
Welcome back to the ProLife Kitchen Table.
My name is Deborah Holyfield, and before we catch up to what's
happening to Baby Chris in thewomb, I want to share an article
from Life News that was writtenby Stephen Erthelt on July 18th,
2025, with the headline ShockingReport Shows Women Having

(00:40):
Multiple Abortions, some killing10 or more babies.
A recent report from theMinnesota Department of Health
has revealed a troubling trendin the state's abortion
statistics, with some womenundergoing multiple abortions,
including a small number whohave had 10 or more.

(01:00):
The data, highlighted in aSubstack article by ProLife
journalist Sarah Turzo, underscores the scale of repeat
abortions in Minnesota, raisingconcerns among pro-life
advocates about the state'spermissive abortion policies.
According to the MinnesotaDepartment of Health's 2022

(01:22):
report, 12,175 abortions wereperformed in the state, a 20%
increase from the previous year.
Terzo's analysis of the datarevealed that among the 7,173
women who reported theirabortion history, 2,791 had

(01:42):
previously had one abortion.
1,080 had had two, 465 hadthree, 241 had four, and 128 had
five.
Shockingly, 159 women had 6 to 9abortions, and 29 women reported

(02:02):
having 10 or more.
This is a tragedy Terzo wrote, emphasizing that the figures
reflect not only the loss ofunborn lives, but also the
potential emotional and physicaltoll on women.
Turzo continues, repeatabortions are not a new
phenomenon.
In a book collecting the storiesof post-abortive women, one

(02:26):
woman recalled that in herpre-abortion counseling end
quote session, which consistedof an abortion worker giving a
talk to a group of women, theworker told the group that she
had had eight abortions.
The worker seemed to be tryingto convince the women that
abortion was easy and simple.

(02:46):
By claiming she had eightabortions and had no regrets,
she minimized the abortionprocedure and everything else
these pregnant people would haveto endure.
It is, of course, possible theabortion worker was lying.
Abortion clinic workers havebeen known to lie to pregnant
women about fetal developmentand abortion risk in order to
convince them to abort.

(03:08):
But as the statistics aboveshow, she may have been telling
the truth.
The post-abortive woman tellingthe story said that the abortion
worker's admission made herfeel, quote, really kind of
dirty and sick because I didn'tever want to say that, end
quote.
But the counseling wassuccessful.

(03:28):
The pregnant woman went throughwith her abortion.
Minnesota's abortion laws, whichallow the procedure up to birth,
have drawn sharp criticism frompro-life groups.
A life news.com report notedthat more than 12,000 babies
were killed in 2022 alone, and amuch higher number is expected

(03:49):
in 2023.
The state's policies, solidifiedunder Governor Tim Waltz, have
made Minnesota a destination forout-of-state women seeking
abortions, with 1,986non-residents undergoing the
procedure in 2022.
Kathy Blazer, co-executivedirector of Minnesota Citizens

(04:12):
Concerned for Life, describedthe state's approach as a land
of truly unlimited abortion atthe expense of women and
children.
Pro-life advocates argue thatthe high number of repeat
abortions point to a lack ofsupport for women facing crisis
pregnancies.
Restoring protection forinnocent human life will require

(04:33):
changing the way manyMinnesotans think about abortion
and about the lives of unbornbabies and other vulnerable
persons, Kathy Blazer said ofits efforts to foster a pro-life
culture through outreach andeducation.
The group's Center for Pro-LifeMinnesota aims to reach key
communities with this message.

(04:54):
The data has sparked renewedcalls for legislative reform and
increased support foralternatives to abortion, such
as pregnancy resource centers.
Pro-Life leaders hope to shiftpublic perception and policy to
prioritize both the lives of theunborn and the well-being of
women, addressing the rootcauses that lead to repeat

(05:16):
abortions.
Before we take our break, I'dlike to note the pervasive and
naive beliefs among many, if notmost Christians, is the idea
that no one wants an abortion.
One need only Google the searchterm shout your abortion to see
dozens of women testify to theirjoy and relief because of their

(05:40):
multiple abortions.
At one of my Presbyterian'sProtecting Life presentations at
a large congregation in Oklahomaa few years ago, I was
approached by an 85-year-oldwoman who related that she had
had five pre-Row abortions ather husband's insistence.
Christians and their churchesand pastors need to wake up and

(06:04):
stop confusing Christiancompassion with enabling a pagan
practice of child sacrifice.
So now let's take a stretchbreak to clear our minds of some
of the really sad stuff thatwe've heard so far and come back
to hear about how, in his 19thweek of development, baby
Chris's five senses arepreparing him to deal with the

(06:26):
wider world.

SPEAKER_00 (06:49):
Presented by a five-member ensemble cast,
Viable leads the audiencethrough a journey of healing and
restoration for post-abortivewomen and men through the love
of Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_01 (07:10):
This week's 19 Baby Chris Devotional is titled The
Tree in the Middle of theGarden.
Hear the word of the Lord.
What no eye has seen nor earheard, nor the heart of man
imagined, what God has preparedfor those who love him.

(07:32):
Thanks be to God.
At nineteen weeks, Baby Chris isdeveloping his five senses.
Nerve cells for sense of taste, hearing, sight, smell, and
touch.
His sensory development isexploding and special areas for
processing information aboutsmell, taste, hearing, vision,
and touch are being created inhis brain.

(07:55):
His arms and legs are now inproportion to each other and the
rest of his body.
Among other things, thisrealignment of his limbs will
serve to augment his five senseswith a spatial sense that will
enable him to better understandwhere his body is in relation to
other objects.
This sensory matrix will helphim take in information about

(08:18):
the world throughout his life.
Our five senses are so importantto us as human beings created in
the image of God that Scriptureteaches us to filter and guard
the kind of information theycommunicate to our brains.
One of the first songs taught toyoung children in church is Be
careful little eyes.

SPEAKER_02 (08:38):
Oh, be careful, little eyes, watch your swing.
Oh, be careful, little eyes, what's your swing?

(09:24):
So be careful with the mouthwatchers.

SPEAKER_01 (09:34):
And which misunderstanding, in turn,
distorts our knowledge of Godand God's will for our lives.
Guarding our ears involvesintentionally avoiding listening
to gossip.
Scripture is full of admonitionsagainst gossip and warnings to
guard our own words, and istempting to point fingers at
those who spread slander.

(09:55):
But gossips can't spread slanderwithout an audience, and our
ears should be tuned to take intruth and not lies.
The gospel is a word of truthintended to be heard.
Romans 10 verse 19 says faithcomes by hearing and hearing by
the word of God.
At the end of a difficult sayingor parable, Jesus often spoke of

(10:17):
those who had ears to hear.
Another way of saying, get ridof the distractions that
interfere with your clearunderstanding and pay attention.
Our sense of touch not onlyprovides information about
whether something is hard orsoft, hot or cold, sharp or
dull, but also allows forcommunication between two people

(10:38):
involving touch, a caress, ahug, or a slap of rebuke.
Pain is a blessing.
It was a curse to lose one'ssense of touch because of the
nerve damage resulting fromleprosy.
Throughout his time on earth, people reached out to touch
Jesus in hope of being healed orreceiving some of his power.

(10:59):
In turn, Jesus healed many withhis touch.
And perhaps the most famoustouch of all was when the
disciple Thomas confirmed hisfaith by touching Jesus' wounds.
It's said that when one sense iscompromised or eliminated,
another sense becomes more acuteto make up for the sensory
deficit.
Jacob tricked his father, blindIsaac, into believing he was his

(11:23):
brother Esau by deceivingIsaac's sense of touch and smell
by disguising himself.
Sometimes two senses operatetogether.
We have no sense of tastewithout an accompanying sense of
smell.
In worship, the Bible tells howGod receives a prayer as a
fragrant offering.
In this week of fetaldevelopment, God integrates the

(11:46):
physical world with theintellect by providing the
portals for us to rightlyunderstand the world and receive
knowledge of God, the means toreceive and confirm faith, the
ability to connect meaningfullywith other human beings, the
ability to both injure and heal, and the system to receive
warnings for self-protection.

(12:07):
From this point on, for the restof our lives, we will
continually take in theknowledge of both good and evil,
that dangerous knowledge thatmakes us most like God and the
most in need of Jesus.
Hear the word of the Lord.
Beloved, we are God's childrennow, and what we will be has not

(12:28):
yet appeared, but we know thatwhen he appears we shall be like
him, because we shall see him ashe is.
Thanks be to God.

SPEAKER_00 (12:44):
We hope you enjoyed this week's reflection.
We encourage you to share it andjoin us next time on Pro Life
Kitchen Table.
May God bless you.
