Thanks for tuning in.
Well hello today and welcome to the broadcast.
Today is a very, very special day on the program because we have a very unique guest.
I'm super excited to be able to present to you medium Charlie Kelly.
By way of introduction, I'd like to read some information to if you're not familiar with
(01:04):
Charlie, today's your day.
So Charlie is a professional medium based in the UK folks and he works extensively in
Italy, Brazil, Portugal, Switzerland, Spain, and the USA.
Working as an evidential medium, his aim is to reunite audiences with their loved ones
(01:24):
and friends in the spirit world.
That's a wonderful mission.
Charlie also demonstrates and teaches all around the world.
He has a refreshing attitude and his unique style of presentation ensures fun, accuracy,
and emotion.
What more could you ask for, right?
And as he works with the spirit world, leaving you convinced that death has no separation.
(01:48):
It's very amazing.
Charlie also runs classes, workshops, mentorships, and has a YouTube channel.
A little fun fact about the YouTube channel, let me give you some interesting stats here.
Charlie has 9,700 YouTube subscribers.
He also has 334 videos on YouTube.
(02:12):
And that's how I became exposed to Charlie with his extensive output there.
And it's very, very interesting.
I've lost quite a few hours of sleep staying up late watching the videos and learning more
and enjoying that.
He also offers live Q&As.
Those are recorded online so you can go and get that.
Tomorrow's June 14th, 2024 is going to be the next one.
(02:33):
In case you missed it, it's available as a recording online.
So as a way of continuing the introduction, I'd like to read a quote that Charlie has,
and I just love this.
It's just great.
And if you're a medium, a practicing medium, or if you're a wannabe medium, and this is
new to you, this is going to summarize what Charlie's all about.
(02:54):
I think this is his mission statement.
And he writes, I know the moment I move my mind to the spirit world, that connection
is made.
I do not need to be in meditation.
I do not need to be eating the right stuff.
It is all of mind.
And because I have moved my mind to the spirit world, the connection is made.
(03:16):
Wow.
I just got the chills.
So without further ado, I want to welcome to the broadcast today, professional medium,
Charlie Kelly and Charlie, welcome.
That's a happy name.
Absolutely.
So it's very exciting because we can talk to you about the things that we love and we're
passionate about here on the broadcast.
(03:39):
So if you wouldn't mind, let's talk a little bit about your past.
Let's pick up some bones, so to speak.
If you wouldn't mind sharing with us maybe some of your early beginnings and how your
journey began and maybe how you developed, or maybe some of the people and situations
that motivated or inspired you to begin your journey.
(04:01):
Yeah, sure.
Sure.
So what the mediumship journey, you mean the idea of a God like that area.
Is that what you want me to talk about?
Yes.
Yeah.
You know, how you first discovered your gifts or your abilities and how you came to manifest
them on the-
It was really late for me in terms of when people have their first kind of encounter
(04:25):
with a spirit world or anything like that.
So if I rewind the clock to when that happened, it's more of why it happened, not when it
happened.
So I lost my little sister.
She was 18 and I was 20.
And there was like a 10 year window there that I was angry, I suppose, like annoyed,
(04:52):
defeated God initially for taking someone so close, et cetera, which are just most people,
if they've lost anyone, most mediums have lost someone, haven't they?
So they would understand the numbness.
It was just numb.
I was just like, there's nothing.
There's nothing worth looking for or fighting for.
(05:15):
It was just a downhill slope.
And as I figured, I say 10 years.
And it was around, yeah, it was around about the 30th year of my life that I was asking
those questions like, do people go somewhere?
(05:37):
Is there an afterlife or whatever?
And I went to a spiritual church to find out what that was all about really.
And to me, it just seemed crazy.
Just seemed a little bit woo woo.
I wasn't fitting in in that respect.
(06:01):
I felt like I grew up in a very dramatic town in the UK, a lot of crime, a lot of violence
and those kind of situations of someone like me that had roamed the streets for like 25
years with my group of people and then make my way to the local spiritual church was not
(06:26):
the right thing.
It was a strange moment.
And I went in and as I fall, I absolutely hated it.
It was just not me.
It was just not, I wasn't comfortable and I didn't see much evidence support in a spirit
(06:50):
world.
So I left and again, I had no interest, but it was like the itch was never scratched.
And fast forward another six months, I made my way back there.
And again, I feel like the experience wasn't a good one.
(07:12):
I'm someone I'm wearing a baseball cap today, but if I'm not wearing this baseball cap,
I'm wearing a beanie hat and I like loose clothing.
I like to be comfortable.
And I felt like I was judged by my appearance by the individuals of the room.
So it was a difficult and awkward situation to find myself in.
(07:33):
And again, not much evidence really to support it.
On a different angle, I was trying to stop this anger.
I just had anger.
I was just angry at God and whatever.
And I felt like I needed an outlet.
I need to do something because I'm just going to end up in trouble or, you know, it was
(07:54):
just the way my life looked like it was going.
And I kind of want to put a stop to that before it's too late, before you can't change it,
etc.
And I went into work and I had an eye injury.
You can see my eye is not quite right, but I had an eye injury which put me on a bed
(08:14):
for three months and so many operations later.
Lost vision in the eye, but kept the eye.
But then I started walking into stuff.
I'd walk into a door, I'd walk into a wall, I'd walk into...
It was an absolute nightmare.
And I'm already angry.
And here I am walking into a door and I could just feel me boiling up, etc.
(08:37):
And I just needed this outlet, an element of frustration.
Where can I lose this?
I went to my local doctor and he advised spatial awareness training or something like that.
So I Googled that and there was a local kickboxing club and Aiki Jiu Jitsu club and whatever.
(09:00):
And I went along and done that.
And I loved it.
I absolutely loved it.
Started doing it three, four days a week, fitter than ever.
And I see my little old sensei and he's breaking the fourth brick down in an eight brick pile
and I'm like, oh my God, that's amazing.
How do you do that?
(09:20):
And he starts explaining the mechanics of energy and how energy moves and this, that
and the other.
And I'm just absorbing it.
And I'm absolutely loving it.
And about nearly a year down the line, I suppose it would have been.
I'm in the dojo, I'm in the ring.
It's just me and my sensei.
(09:41):
And I see a lady walk, just walk past me and I was like, oh, who's the woman?
And he's like, what woman?
And I described her just as she walked past and he looked terrified.
And he was like, you sound like you're talking about my mom.
But my mom's been dead like 20 years.
And I was like, no, the lady.
(10:02):
And as I turn around, she had obviously gone.
And I was like, whoa, what was that?
So I went straight to the hospital because as you do, you think you've got a tumor or
something, don't you?
Like you're seeing stuff.
And I was like, I need an MRI scan on my brain.
Something's not right.
I'm dying or something.
You know, I'm seeing stuff that isn't there.
(10:23):
And it didn't really happen again.
Like that kind of thing didn't happen again.
So with the training, with the energy work and the idea of a spiritual church, I tried
another spiritual church about, I don't know, 20, 25 minutes away from my local church.
I made an attempt to go in there.
(10:44):
I felt a little bit more at ease.
Maybe that's why that one felt a little bit better.
I wasn't going to be seen by anyone in my local town.
And then I went in and it was okay.
It wasn't groundbreaking or anything like that, but I kind of felt all right about it.
And then they were talking about a circle, which I had no idea what a circle was.
(11:05):
I thought it was a shape, not a place of going to sit with people and do stuff.
And then someone invited me along and I was like, why not?
I'll give it a go.
I'll see what it's about.
Long story short, I really didn't want to get up.
I really didn't want to work.
I was just looking for my sister.
(11:26):
I just want evidence of my sister.
Where is she?
What's going on?
And they said to me, do you want to have a go?
And I was like, yeah, sure.
What have I got to do?
And they were like, just empty your mind.
What you're thinking about, what you're seeing.
I saw a woman.
I said her name was Evelyn.
She was a nurse, but that nurse turned into a school teacher.
(11:48):
I don't know.
I don't know what else.
I feel like I'm making it up.
This poor old guy, Derek, I remember his name.
He was like, oh my God, that's my wife Evelyn.
She was a nurse and she works at a school.
And I was like, no, you're joking.
And I just, in that moment, I was just like, oh, maybe I could do this.
(12:10):
Maybe it's something I should look at.
And that started a journey really.
I started to source out people.
I went to the Arthur Finley.
I went to the big names that we've got here in the UK.
I did workshops and classes, master classes, all that kind of stuff.
(12:32):
But there was a but.
I felt like I was developing a little bit better by just sitting on my own.
I didn't have to be embarrassed.
I didn't feel awkward.
I didn't feel anything like that.
And I built a relationship with what I now know as a guide, a team member, a partner
spirit, team, whatever terminology we need there.
(12:54):
And I felt like I was building a relationship with that.
And I just asked them to teach me.
And I would have like episodes of colors and emotions.
And then every three months, maybe I'd find myself on a workshop somewhere in the UK just
to make sure I'm staying on track.
(13:15):
And by all accounts, I was staying on track.
It appeared like I was getting better at handling the energy and understanding the language
of energy.
And I could get quite precise or accurate evidence to support what I was doing.
And I did that for, I don't know, maybe three years, something like that, round about that.
(13:40):
And then, as I said, I never had a desire to work, never had the desire for platform
or definitely not teaching.
I'm looking for my sister and then people wanted readings and I would just do it.
Yeah, sure.
I'll do this.
And then the diary got really busy and I was like, oh my God, what's going on here?
(14:01):
And then I went to a demonstration and the medium didn't turn up.
And then my friend was like, my friend can do it.
I ended up on stage and from that, I took four more DEMs and from them four DEMs, I
took 120.
And before I knew it, I was doing 200 DEMs a year.
(14:23):
So it just wasn't a drive for me.
And here we are today.
So I was teaching, teaching is a funny one.
Someone would ask me something and I would say, it's just that, why don't you just do
that?
And I'd be like, oh my God, that's so much easier.
Like, why don't you run a class?
And I was like, who wants a class?
Like, why would someone want a class from me?
(14:45):
And that started off as like 10 people that become 30 people that become, I don't know
what my numbers are now, but it's like five days a week.
I'm teaching classes all around the world.
So it's absolute madness.
It's almost like a made up story, but I can assure you it's very real.
Very, very real.
(15:07):
So yeah.
And here we are today talking on a podcast about mediumship that I didn't want to do.
That's an utterly fascinating story and journey.
It's very, very unique.
Thank you so much for sharing that.
There's so many parts of that story that are very compelling, resonate with me and I'm
sure many of our listeners, because pieces and parts of that we can relate to.
(15:30):
And speaking to you and listening to you talk, that's one of the impressions that you give
people.
You automatically immediately made me very, very comfortable in your presence because
we're talking about something that people can relate to.
But also because you make it sound so very easy and so accessible because for you, it
seems like it is.
And for most of us-
I think it is.
I think it is.
(15:53):
Even mechanically, if you're working mediumship, mechanically, it's actually easier.
It's the easiest thing I've ever done mediumship, honestly.
I think it's actually made me a little bit lazy, if I'm honest.
But it's the easiest thing I've ever done.
It's actually harder for me now to go and make a cup of tea and bring it back and drink
it and to do a demonstration.
(16:14):
Well, I'm so glad you added that because that's the impression you give.
And yeah, I'll think of that the next time I make a cup of tea.
You know, there's just such a fascinating journey because you had this grief, the sense
of anger and grief, and then you wanted some relief and you sought some relief from that.
(16:36):
You went to the church.
You underwent this transformation from the street kid or the street guy into the church
where you had this discomfort, right?
Yeah, I was really uncomfortable.
So that's amazing.
That talks about you as a person because again, you're relevant because you understood your
own discomfort and all of us can relate to being in a group.
(16:57):
Other people have different abilities and things are happening and you're wondering
what's supposed to happen.
But then you have this amazing breakthrough during this kickboxing.
You have a spirit encounter.
I must tell you, I interviewed lots of people and that's usually where the story ends.
They close the book, walk away and like you said, you know, something's not right.
(17:20):
Let's check those MRIs again.
But you didn't.
You persevered.
You kept going.
And I was wondering as you were telling the story, what was the motivator?
And you said you wanted to connect with your sister.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's funny because it's like there's a lot of talk about like evidence and like receiving
(17:41):
your own evidence is so personalized in a way that you would hear evidence.
It's so personalized.
And you know, I never found my sister via mediumship.
I never found her.
It took 10 years of real intense work and development for that to eventually happen.
(18:06):
I received my own evidence in my own way, but it wasn't via a medium.
I didn't see myself as a medium.
None of us see ourselves as a medium, do we?
We're all closet mediums initially.
I don't want to own it.
Yeah.
I don't want to own it.
I don't want to say I'm a medium.
(18:27):
They're very difficult words to sort of reach, but yeah, I never found her through mediumship.
It wasn't until that 10th year.
And that right there was like the motivation to why?
Why hasn't that happened?
Right.
Right.
And the answer is very simple.
(18:47):
It's safety of the mind.
So if a medium was to work and they can, they're aware of my 87 year old grandmother, they
are confident by looking at me that I would have an 87 year old grandmother in this very
world.
It would be very uncomfortable initially for a medium to go, do I go with the 87 year old
(19:08):
granny or do I go with this 18 year old girl?
And they will gravitate to the 87 year old granny through safety.
I feel safe.
I feel familiar.
Sure.
Is why that all unfolded.
That helps me mechanically understand what am I scared of?
(19:32):
What is my awareness?
Is there any way I can stretch that awareness?
Can I grow confident?
Can I take a leap?
And it taught me mechanically how to handle my own fear, my own perception, my own judgment.
And once I got those under control, like discipline, don't get involved, don't judge, don't analyze,
(19:54):
don't think about it.
That's where mediumship just completely flips on its head for me.
It was just a whole different way of working.
I see.
And those are the realities of the work, isn't it?
Because all the things that you mentioned, those are things that present themselves to
different degrees to different people during their development on their journey.
(20:16):
And yet you explored.
You have a passion to explore things.
You ask questions and you're not afraid to ask questions and look for answers.
I think it was because I didn't want to do the work.
I didn't want to.
So it was more of I was looking for how it works rather than doing the work.
I never wanted to be a working medium.
(20:38):
I never wanted to be a demonstrator.
I never wanted to do teaching.
They weren't driving forces for me in my journey.
It was the driving force was where is she and why is it not happening?
Which just developed a skill set that I didn't know I was developing at the time.
(21:00):
Right.
Utterly fascinating.
And I'm so glad you just end with that because that's a perfect way to do it.
So if we're going to analyze your journey, we're going to look at that for just a second.
And we watch for evidence of spirit in your life, guiding you, motivating you, propelling
you forward, giving you experiences that you grow from, that you clearly learn and grow
(21:21):
from, especially the one where you mentioned the volunteer, your friend volunteers you
to do the down.
I mean, that's just if you wondered if there's any evidence of spirit active in your life,
in your development, I would say that we could take that home.
We could take that to the bank.
In hindsight, I don't think there's many decisions made in my life where there wasn't the influence
(21:46):
of that.
It's like looking back now, it's so obvious.
Oh my God.
How did I not see that?
How did I not?
How was I?
But we're not.
We're very, I don't know really how to express it, but we're so caught up in, I call it
main character syndrome.
(22:07):
I'm so important in my own story and I'm just an extra in yours.
Exactly.
Right.
Yeah.
And it's very difficult to sort of like tell the difference between the two.
When you're suppressing what we know as an ego, then it's so obvious.
(22:27):
It's like, oh my God, of course it was that play there, destiny, fate, whatever people
want to call it, but whatever it is, I can see it very clearly in my story.
Right.
Yes.
And you know what?
It takes someone special like yourself who's introspective, who likes to explore, to connect
those dots, to step out of yourself, out of you, you're going to go, oh, what's happening
(22:47):
here?
Because when you were telling your journey, you would constantly turn your head back.
This is my word.
And you'd sort of reflect on how you got there and you know the timeline.
You'll say how many years?
And so those benchmarks are those very significant experiences or something that I always say
to listeners on the broadcast, you cannot deny because that's your own personal experience.
(23:08):
Yeah.
And those are the things that are valuable that you need to consider if you're trying
to develop your spirituality and that's the stuff we've been along with.
I think we put a lot of emphasis on that journey as such.
I think if we look at self, like where we are in our own story, in our movie as such,
(23:34):
I was so angry.
I was so, so angry and I was so hell bent on destroying myself because of this story
that I had that it just become a pattern of like, I just got to be better than I was yesterday.
That's all I've got to do, which is a spiritual journey in itself because I started to realize
(23:58):
I feel good in what I did today.
And equally if I'd done something like I've been rude or short or angered or whatever
it'll be, it could be something really silly.
I can recognize like you need to offer an apology there.
You need to do better than that.
You can't treat people like that.
(24:22):
And that was just molding this spiritual journey around me, the individual, without sort of
like doing my nine to five and then going home and trying to be spiritual.
I just implemented it in every aspect of my life.
So the moment I wake up, I need to be a better man today and just questioning why am I annoyed?
(24:49):
Why am I angry?
Why am I excited?
Why am I happy?
Why am I fill in the blank and recognize who am I?
Who am I?
And from there you can sort of like, you can tweak.
So if I don't like that about me, then you're not going to change it for me, are you?
So it falls on my lap.
(25:10):
I was very, very quick to realize there's no knight in shining armor coming to save
me.
I've got to do the saving.
And then it falls into like a bit of a woo woo category, but it's like I am my own creator,
whatever I am at that point, whatever I want my story to be, I've got to change it.
(25:32):
I've got to make it happen.
I've got to sort of like give it the opportunity that no one's going to do it for me.
And that in itself is a spiritual journey, I think.
It's a journey of truth, isn't it?
It is absolutely a journey of truth.
Folks today we are speaking to medium Charlie Kelly and he is describing his journey with
us and we're having a very in-depth discussion, a very stimulating, refreshing conversation
(25:57):
about some of the aspects we encounter as we travel through this.
This is utterly brilliant, Charlie, utterly.
And I'll tell you why, because what you're talking about is when we sort of flipped it
over, didn't we?
We said when you wake up in the morning, you were thinking about spiritual being in your
body and so many of the philosophers say we're spiritual beings living in this body, living
(26:19):
this life.
And that for me was what I had to own.
I was like, I wasn't going to turn on the buttons and turn off the buttons.
It was going to be part of me.
It was going to be who I am.
It's part of my identity.
And that was a tremendous breakthrough for me.
So that was a gift.
And if you're listening to this broadcast and you're struggling with where you are and
you're trying to come out of the closet or find out how to get the balance, Charlie just
(26:40):
gave you the key to the door.
You can walk through.
You have to, and you know, manifesting, I think that's where you're going, Charlie.
Don't let me put words in your mouth.
It's more like I've been doing a lot of work on it lately, you know, and it's not, I think
it's kind of been tarnished a little bit, the law of attraction or manifestation.
So I try and make it a little bit more relatable for my people that, you know, want guidance
(27:05):
or want to listen to me.
It's more law of attention.
But wherever my attention is, is what I need to sort of be working on.
If my attention is on the victim part of my story, then I'm going to feel like a victim.
If my attention is on like the glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, then that
glimmer of light becomes a massive bright light in my life because I just make it my
(27:29):
attention.
Although there was a lot of nonsense going on and a lot of negative surroundings around
me, my attention was on that light at the end of the tunnel and I just made my way to
it, which is the manifestation or law of attraction.
But it's the discipline of the mind of not keep slipping and going back and reminding
(27:49):
yourself you're a victim or you're hard done by, or it's not quite working out for me.
So I'm one step closer and one step closer and one step closer.
And therefore just making sure where my attention is, is absolutely key to that journey, mediumship
and my reality that I'm trying to create.
(28:12):
It's just where is my ascension?
So a lot of us have got an excuse, haven't we?
We've got an excuse for everything.
So if anything fouls or goes wrong, we pass the buck immediately.
It's not my fault.
We excuse ourselves or even worse, we blame somebody and then we buy our own story.
We sort of say, well, that's a good way to put that on the shelf or move away from it.
(28:36):
And yet it had some more juice in the fruit, didn't it?
It had some more.
That's a perfect segue for us to talk about because that's your teaching nerve now exhibiting
itself.
Because folks, Charlie, as well as being a professional full-time medium is also a teacher
and you can hear it because he's expounding on these very, very in-depth sort of complicated
(28:57):
topics in a very simple way.
And I'm very, he's doing it a masterful way and I'm enjoying it.
I hope you are as well.
Let's talk about that law of attention and driving towards truth and the value there
as far as what you do as a teacher, as a person who helps people to sort of embrace and engage
(29:18):
and develop their own abilities and their gifts.
Just a little bit about that.
What the teaching of like getting the uniqueness of an individual, like getting them to be
the best version of themselves.
Yeah.
There's probably lots of folks that are going to listen to this broadcast, for example,
that are going to be intrigued.
(29:40):
They're going to be curious.
They're going to be interested.
They're going to want to follow up.
And so we're sort of saying that you're available and you have an online presence where you
can offer teaching and more instruction and guidance that way.
And so I think the focus is like every medium that I know or has undertaken any kind of
(30:02):
development, they will stand on a soapbox and preach the intelligence of that spirit
world.
And then as a human, myself included, we'll do something stupid.
But then we'll pass that buck.
We'll get rid of it.
So the first point of call is like, does that seem intelligent?
(30:25):
Does that represent intelligence?
To which the answer is no.
It's going to be no.
And then like, so what is the problem?
What is the issue?
And the answer every single time to any mistake or any issue within the development of a mediumship,
a mental mediumship process is the owning of the mistake.
(30:47):
And what happens is by me owning that mistake, I'm telling my ego, get in the box.
This is a part of the day that you're not allowed to be out.
So I treat it like it's like the family dog.
I have to walk it.
I have to nurture it.
(31:08):
I have to feed it.
I have to, you know, it has to have playtime, but there is a time where it's not allowed
on the sofa.
It's not allowed on the bed.
It has to go in its crate or whatever, however you're doing that with the dog and the training
of the dog, et cetera.
I see my ego like that.
There are times and places where everyone that knows me on a personal level will be
(31:30):
like, oh, he's a nightmare.
But that's my moment.
I'm allowed to do it there, but never in my work, never on my stage, never in the teaching
and that the egos learn like this is crate time.
I've got to get in my crate and do as it's told.
At that point, owning any kind of mistake is very easy.
(31:54):
And you're like, right, I must not repeat that.
And that in itself, you'll see instant, instant betterment in the results of your own mediumship.
The moment you recognize I keep doing that, I must stop doing that.
And then the question should be, what else can I do?
And that's where a mentor, someone offering guidance, a circle leader, a teacher can say,
(32:20):
have you considered this route?
What about that idea or what about, so which they may find is really comfortable for them
at some point, but the accuracy goes up.
So they feel great about it.
The problem is with a mediumship development is not many people are in love with mediumship
as they first were.
(32:42):
The pressures they put on themselves just makes it difficult.
It just makes it like, it's almost like a chore or they're not enjoying it.
If you watch a beginner's group, if I hold a beginner's group and we're talking about
energy and they're like children, their face lights up and oh my God, this is amazing.
(33:04):
And you can see the color back in their face and they're wowed by the facts of this sensory
experience that they're going through.
And then you watch someone with six months development and they're borderline depressed.
And they haven't even done an exercise and they're not there, but the pressure they put
on themselves, they're recognizing the responsibility that goes with it or the demand of self to
(33:30):
be so good and so accurate.
And it's just killing all the joy that once was in a classroom when they were feeling
energy with their hands and they were childlike.
So it's just reminding them, why are you doing it?
What is it you're trying to achieve?
What is it you're trying to do?
And a lot of people, myself included, no doubt yourself, you'll do a reading, you'll do let's
(33:57):
say 30 minutes and 29 minutes of it will be yes, you're absolutely correct.
But we cannot let go of that one note.
We cannot let go of it.
And we leave that room and we beat ourselves up and we remind ourselves of that one mistake
and now rewind this podcast and you go to law of attention and your attention's on the
(34:21):
1% that you got wrong.
You go into your next exercise with your attention on the one mistake that you made and what
do you know?
There it is again and again and again and again because you're not rewarding yourself
with the 99% that you got right.
Yeah.
You're beating yourself up because you got the one wrong or the one note.
(34:43):
One bit wrong.
Yeah.
And you're not rewarding yourself with all the good that you had done.
And so your world and your reality and your perception starts to learn to focus on the
1% that is bad in the world, bad in your life, bad in your personality, bad in your...
And now very quickly the color or the vibrancy of your reality is dull and gray and cloudy
(35:05):
and now here we go.
It's like my life's not where I want it to be and you're borderline depressed and if
you're on the point of burnout...
Yep, that's right.
And then people want to take a break and they get the color back in their life.
They come back six months later.
It all feels good because the attention's the joy and six weeks down the line it's dull,
(35:29):
it's gray because your attention went back to the mistake.
Yes, absolutely.
So I'd like to contribute to that if you're the expert but I'm going to contribute to
as a teacher myself, we've described what you just talked about as being a distorted
idea of what success actually is.
How do we know success and our success?
(35:49):
And when you were talking about, I use the word blame but you said pushing the responsibility
off.
One of the things as a teacher that I find myself doing whether it's right or wrong is
in student management is saying, hey, yes, you did 99% of it and there was 1% was wrong
but it could be the sitter or the person that you were reading for just didn't remember
(36:13):
or gave you the wrong information because actually they have amnesia, they don't get
it.
But all that speaks very, very well to your points and that's the ego.
I was going to ask you, I was going to put you on the spot and say, what is the purpose?
Why would we want to dismiss the ego?
What is the benefit from dismissing ego?
And you just gave us a wonderful example, picture of that.
(36:36):
You've also got to take into context the ego is the driving force of your reality, the
perception that you see in your every single day.
But what a lot of people are forgetting, especially when it comes to mediumship is as the communication
joins me, I'm perceiving that through my reality.
(37:01):
So I've got no context of this individual that wants to join me but I'm judging them
instantly through my reality.
So I've got zero context there and now I'm trying to give it to a stranger, a client,
a recipient of any sort and I have no context of who they are.
(37:21):
So I can't be judging.
This is a great statement because I don't know who this is and I don't know who I'm
giving it to.
And so what is it I'm judging?
I've got zero context on two points of a three point triangle.
I've got zero context.
So my ego is going to be like, that's great.
That's not so great.
That's not very good that you need to shut up.
(37:43):
I need that to shut up.
I need that to sort of go away for a bit.
So I am in service to be the voice of this person that I don't know, giving it to the
person I don't know.
And I need my judgment and my perception of both of these people silent.
I can't be doing it.
(38:04):
Right.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
And you know, that's a very delicate dance, isn't it?
To do it, to manage that communication, that dual, you have to be sort of multitasking and
you know, that monitoring, that monitoring is something that's achieved with practice,
right?
We don't want to discourage people because I think it just gets easy.
It becomes second nature.
I mean, it's a nightmare to learn to tie a shoelace, isn't it?
(38:26):
It's all fingers and thumbs.
But the three months down the line, you're having a conversation with someone else.
You're not even looking at your laces and you can tie them now.
It's pretty much like that.
It's just making it a second nature on this is my work and this is my private time.
Sure.
I mean, we all do it at the nine to five, the day job.
We all do it, don't we?
(38:46):
We've got an opinion and we go in and the boss wants you to do something that you know
is going to be of no value.
Just going to waste everyone's time.
But you can't say you're an idiot boss.
You have to suppress that, don't you?
You have to go, okay, you're telling me to do that.
Then I'll go do it.
(39:07):
And in your head, you're thinking this is a mistake.
You can't express yourself.
If you do, you find yourself out of a job quite a lot.
So it's the work like mentality, isn't it?
I'm going to work and I've got to bite my tongue.
I can't let my boss know I think he's an idiot.
I can't do that.
(39:29):
And so I suppress and so that's my dog, sorry.
So I've got to suppress myself in that moment so I don't get involved with my own perception,
my own judgment, my own ideas for someone's story that I have no idea about.
Of course, absolutely.
And we should mention to the listeners too that this is mental activity that we're talking
(39:51):
about is totally normal.
It's a human thing to say, how am I doing?
When our perception is what we're doing, performing, we're giving evidence, we're trying to get
information, we're delivering stuff, it's normal to monitor that and say, oh, I hope
it's okay.
And then we look for our...
Again, we judge our success on the responses or the non-responses, let's say, from the
(40:15):
listener.
And that can be a difficult...
And with time and with practice, you can maneuver through that successfully so that you know
what you're doing.
Again, I try to be unattached to the statements.
So my style of teaching, my style of mediumship is one of validation.
I lean heavily on evidence that I have your person in.
So validation is absolutely key at that point to make sure that the client understands and
(40:39):
agrees with what it is that you're offering as evidence.
But if you make that in a relatable way to understand what that is, I use Amazon Prime
as my example.
Like I'm just a spiritual Amazon Prime driver, that's all I'm doing.
And I'm delivering.
And so I got a delivery literally an hour before this podcast started and they come
(41:05):
to my front gate and they gave me my box and they didn't care what was in that box.
They just gave me the box and they got in the van and they drove away.
And they don't know that I was excited by it.
They don't know that I was like, I couldn't wait to get this passed.
I've been waiting for a week for this to turn up and it finally arrived.
They don't see any of that.
Their job is to bring the box.
(41:27):
So in my philosophy, that's the gift.
I'm gifting you communication.
There it is.
I'm just an Amazon Prime driver.
What mediums do is they would lose their job at Amazon very quickly because they're like,
what's in the box?
Why have you ordered that?
What do you need that for?
That looks good.
(41:47):
That looks bad.
That looks terrible.
Why have you ordered that?
And we're doing that and we haven't even gave them the box yet.
And so that is where mediumship gets clunky or you start overthinking it and you're trying
to understand why this person ordered a garden hose when you can see concrete on the drive.
But you haven't seen round the back.
(42:08):
You don't know what's around the back.
So it's just give them the hose.
That's all they want is the hose.
Give them the hose and without the value of judgment to what you think the statement is,
just give the statement.
The client is my gauge.
If they're saying yes, I did it.
I got it right.
(42:28):
They're saying yes again.
I did it.
I got it right.
And you tend to find that when you work in that manner, in that style, it's a lot of
yeses.
Very, very few nos, but rarely do I get, I don't know.
I don't know because I'm not extracting information because I want it.
(42:53):
I'm offering what they want me to give, which means that I lean a lot more in the yes, yes,
yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, all the way through the den on a stage or whether it being a one-to-one
private sitting, it tends to lean that way because I'm just delivering the box.
What do you want me to say?
What is it you want me to do here?
Which then in my head is service.
(43:15):
Absolutely.
And from the expert folks, if you're listening, they're going to yield real results for it's
going to really provide- Very quickly.
Yeah, very quickly.
Yeah.
Because we tend to get in our own ways and being in our own ways is something that just
happens that we have to sort of work through.
So yeah, absolutely.
(43:35):
We are nearing the end of our broadcast, Charlie, but I want to make sure we touch on some of
these.
You've shared so much, so many wonderful, inspiring pieces of information, technical
things.
I know when to quit when I'm ahead, but I want to talk to you just a little bit about
the things that you're passionate about because it's very clear to me that you enjoy what
(43:58):
you do.
You're very good at what you do.
You're successful and you don't mind sharing it.
But what are some of the things that resonate with you as a medium and as a teacher?
It will always fall into that bracket of evidence.
It's the evidence of a spirit world that I was so hungry to find myself and a lot of
the clients that we work with, whether it be on stage or whatever, they're looking for
(44:20):
that evidence also.
So primary is the evidence.
What I'm really, really passionate about dispelling fear in any individual's mind.
So I showed them that they're always safe of mind and it's just get rid of that, which
will empower them and change them as an individual.
(44:40):
But it's actually getting the uniqueness out of that individual, the best version of that
individual that sits in front of me today and just empowering them with an idea for
them to step forward and go into that power, that energy of who they are and what they
are.
And what you'll find with a lot of my students, and I don't know how many we're at now.
(45:03):
I'm sure I'll be able to get a number for you, but it's thousands now.
But I've never heard someone say, you sound and work just like Charlie.
I've never heard it.
And I think that's brilliant because what I was around in my own development was everyone
wanted to be the tutor.
(45:24):
Everyone wanted to emulate that individual with mannerisms or the way they speak and
where it's kind of a very simple approach, a very easy way of working.
It allows you and your personality to shine its brightest light and be the medium that
you want to be and deserve to be for the investment and time and energy and development, et cetera,
(45:49):
et cetera.
And we see a whole new individual, which means if I've touched thousands of minds and thousands
of people with this evidence of mediumship and I've taught these thousands that if they
go on and teach their thousands and very quickly we start to move across the globe, don't we?
(46:09):
Very, very quickly with this very accurate, very meaningful touching the mind of mediumship.
But the idea that my God, my mom does still continue.
My dad is still around.
My brother, my sister, my fill in the blank hasn't actually died.
(46:31):
It's just their earthly counterpart is no longer present.
Makes people change immediately.
And then any kind of philosophy, your words, your thoughts, your actions or accountability,
you make everyone accountable for their thoughts, their actions and their words and people change
very quickly.
So give people a foundational philosophy, foundational accurate mechanics and foundation
(47:00):
of understanding of who they are.
They're already going to be a good medium already just in a very short space of time
without reading loads of books and doing loads of courses and doing, it's just already you're
going to be a better human being, which is one step at a time, one day at a time.
I just want to be a better version than always yesterday.
(47:23):
And everything kind of spy the charts off of that.
That's got its own branches and you can do deep dives into that.
Notice that foundational stuff, how powerful our words are and accountability changes an
individual very, very quickly.
So that's what I would focus on all of the time.
(47:44):
I would focus on that.
And you're just going to notice a change, very, very subtle, but very quick.
People are like, you're different.
And it may be mediumship.
It may be a stay at home mom.
It may be a hardworking spouse, anything, but they will notice the difference because
(48:04):
you're accountable for those words, thoughts and actions.
So I should know about that.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
That's very empowering.
I find that.
And you know what?
Admirable that you're who you are and you're willing to share these kinds of things because
it's evident to me that you enjoy creating a comfort level for the individual.
(48:25):
And empowering them to sort of ease into that from wherever they are, coming from whatever
background they have.
And then I loved what you said about dispelling fear because so many people come to this or
listening to this may have some evident fears or some hidden fears.
Talking about that, acknowledging that, naming it helps them lose it or leave it at the door.
(48:48):
Right?
Or process it.
The human mind makes the worst case scenario anyway, doesn't it?
It's like if you've got no sight and it's dark and you feel like a little money spider
walk on your shin while sitting at home, in your head, that is a tarantula, isn't it?
In your head.
You're like, oh my God, what's that climbing up my leg?
(49:11):
And you click on a light and it's a little money spider.
It's nothing.
Our brains are designed for that fight or flight situation.
So when some individual is fearing standing up in front of a group of people or one person
and showing medium shit in their head, they're like, here we have an opportunity to make
ourselves look like the biggest idiot on planet earth and I'm never going to be able to recover.
(49:36):
I'm going to feel so silly.
I'm going to feel so stupid.
I'm going to feel...
And that's the law of attention.
But what if you change the person's life?
What if you make them feel better?
What if you actually get through it and look good at what you're doing?
And they're like, oh yeah.
And so it's just changed the view, changed the view.
That's all you've got to do.
(49:56):
And very quickly you see people, their lives turn around because they, whether we like
it or not, whatever I change in my mediumship changes in my reality, in my normal life.
Whatever I change in my normal life, I notice it in my mediumship with different aspects,
(50:17):
personality traits, et cetera, things that I'm working on personal development.
So it has to become this oneness.
Whereas I'm Charlie at home, medium Charlie outside, but me, my actions, the brain, the
mind that I'm working with is one of the same.
So that's why it becomes a way of life rather than a hobby or an interest.
(50:42):
It just becomes part of me, doesn't it?
So I think that's a lot of questions come that I get that question a lot.
Like, am I meant to be doing this?
Should I be doing something else?
Should I?
The answer would shock a lot of people, but I tell people to give it up because tomorrow
(51:05):
morning they wake up and their first thought is the spirit world.
And then they come back to me and say, you sure?
And I'm like, because you thought about the spirit world, the first thing you did this
morning.
They're like, yeah.
And I was like, well, then you can't give it up, can you?
Right.
Sure.
Therefore you're obviously meant to be doing it because it's all you can think about.
(51:25):
So if I've got to remind you to come to practice, then maybe it's a hobby for you.
I'm first in class.
I'm first one there.
I'm last one out.
It's all I think about.
It's all I do all day, every day.
I love what I do.
I love that.
That's a passion at that point, isn't it?
(51:47):
So the option of even walking away in that moment is obsolete.
It's not going to happen.
I can't.
It's all I think about.
It's all I do.
It's all I love doing.
So you take the option away from someone that's developing because they're finding it difficult.
They're finding it hard in any way is because there is a doorway or an excuse to leave.
(52:11):
Remove the excuse and you'll get stuff done, won't you?
And we do that in everything, don't we?
Don't forget, you've got to go into town.
I'll go tomorrow.
You've got to go to town.
I'll go tomorrow.
But if there's a fine on the end of that, see if you don't go to town today, you're
going to be charged $100 for late fee.
All right, I'll go then.
(52:32):
You remove all excuses and you get it done.
Remove the excuse and you won't give it up.
That's all you'll do and you'll be very good at it because you've looked at the excuses,
who I am, what I am with a foundation, where's your ascension and you're already better.
(52:52):
In one week, you're already better.
Amazing.
So if we've done nothing else today, Charlie, I think that the discussion we've had, the
dialogue has been very stimulating, certainly for me.
But I think we've demonstrated that these different aspects that we discussed today,
wholesome, they're healthy, they're productive things, they're natural, they're naturally
(53:15):
occurring, fulfilling.
And I think most especially, we've talked and I think the gift that we're giving the
listeners today is it's available.
We haven't made it some kind of playing this guy, philosophical conceptual sort of thing
that's not real.
It's very, very real.
Spirit is as real as our own spirits.
We've identified how we are in ourselves and how it's integral to the work that you do
(53:40):
and how it's integral to development and expressing yourself and finding yourself.
I think we've opened up a lot of doors for a lot of people today and I can see how you're
successful with your teaching.
So we know you're a man of many hats.
You're doing your teaching, you're doing traveling, mediumship and DEMs, Q&A's.
(54:04):
What's next?
Do you have any special offers and events coming up on the calendar and something you'd
like to share with the listeners today so them to be on the lookout for in the future?
So as I said, on the YouTube channel, I do a lot of Q&A's and I do that because it's
a reaching point for questions that from my own experience tutors avoided.
(54:27):
So we've got one of those being released tomorrow, but obviously the podcast will be released
after that.
It'll be on playback, things like that.
All classes and availability and I try to reach as many people as I can.
So there's like a themed idea where I don't come away from the theme.
So maybe it's connecting, maybe it's layering for depth and evidence or whatever.
(54:54):
It's just like a theme and we don't come away from that theme and they're like the taste
of the classes to show you maybe this is one direction, here's another, but we never come
off of that theme.
And then there's workshops and they can go like two, three, four days, et cetera.
Again, all availability is on the Medium Charlie Kelly website, which is just co.uk on the
(55:18):
end.
And that's a little bit more intensive.
Then there's mechanical.
So you want to understand who you are and why does my mind do that?
And that they would be mechanical ways of working right into the really in-depth stuff,
which is residential.
And I held them in the UK, had a very successful one last August, but I am in the US.
(55:43):
I'm going to the US this year, August this year, which again, availability for that,
which I'm not sure there is any availability for that now.
And then there's four planned for next year all across the US, so in four different areas,
which the dates and interest can just be expressed to the website where admin will sort of point
(56:04):
you in the right direction.
So there's no breakdown, there's no beginners, intermediate, advanced.
I don't do it like that.
We're all there for the same reason and everyone learns from everyone else.
You're not in competition with me.
I'm not in competition with you.
We're here to learn about the spirit world.
So it's a very relaxed kind of safe environment to do that with that demonstrations.
(56:31):
I mean, you lot are US, so you're not going to come to my demonstrations here in the UK,
but they are also available on the website or on Facebook.
I use Facebook quite a lot for that, which is medium Charlie Kelly.
But yeah, I mean, I'm there to help.
And the whole reason I teach and I went on YouTube was because no one seems to answer
(56:52):
the obvious.
And I was like, no one's doing it.
Why is no one answering me?
Why can't I learn or do?
And I just created it myself.
It was just one of those spaces.
I don't blow my own trumpet in that sense, but there is never a class that I've got off
(57:13):
of where a student is left with a question.
I've been sat two hours later after a class that I've sat three hours in already answering
the questions of the students to help them ease their mind or help them be better at
what it is that they're trying to achieve.
And it's just something that I really pride myself on because of my own experience.
(57:39):
I wanted to speak to a tutor and what do you know?
They've gone home or can you help me with and I can on this next course.
And you're kind of like, what is going on here?
This isn't approachable.
You're not helping me.
I just want to help.
I just want to help people.
So yes, that's kind of what I do.
(58:02):
So whatever it is, I can help, but it's all on the website.
It's all on Facebook, including this podcast.
When you release it, it will go onto my website and we'll hopefully get people to come over
to your platforms, et cetera, because we're not in competition.
I want to help you.
You want to help me.
(58:23):
I want to help your viewers and here's my people go here.
And it's just, that's all I want to do is help.
Sure.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's a very symbiotic relationship, but I appreciate that.
Thank you.
So I would describe you as a true enabler.
You're a person that really invests in people and invests in their success and sees vision
for them, you know, maps out a path, but also holds their hand and leads them and guides
(58:46):
them along.
Yeah, absolutely.
It's quite a gift.
I think this broadcast has been an amazing experience in itself today.
And I'm so eager to share it with everyone.
I can't wait to get it online.
So again, folks, the way to find Charlie online is mediumcharlakelley.co.uk.
That's the website and treat yourself folks to a little tour of that website because you're
(59:09):
going to enjoy yourself.
It's all, it's very interesting.
It's stimulating.
If you're asking yourself these questions, you know, Charlie just described how he's
willing to help.
Oftentimes one question leads to another and to another and to another.
And we both know, Charlie can agree with me, I'm sure that there's lots of confusion.
And so one of the, one of the motives we have is to dispel the confusion, clarify things
(59:32):
for people and make it, make it a bit more accessible so that you can enjoy it like we
do.
And we both feel passionately about enjoying this and delivering to other people.
Again, the website is mediumcharlakelley.co.uk.
Believe me, it's a destination.
You're going to enjoy it immensely.
Charlie, I can't thank you enough today for agreeing to come on the broadcast.
(59:54):
You've been extremely generous with your time and giving us lots of wonderful insights and
information inspiration, if nothing else.
So let you have the last word.
Any parting words for us or?
Just where's your attention is what I would really, really encourage people to sort of
(01:00:15):
ask themselves.
That question can be really ugly.
It can be a really ugly answer and it can be a massive turnaround because you're asking
yourself that question.
So if there's anything I could leave there would be what is the mindset?
Where are you?
What are you thinking?
What you're doing?
What's your attention?
But equally, I want to thank you for having me and your viewers listening to me.
(01:00:36):
I'm just Charlie.
So it's just, I don't get it, but maybe one day.
Yeah.
Well, it's been our pleasure and we look forward to the next time.

Yeah.
