Hello world, what's happening in your neck of the It
is saved and many of you call me commission. It's
Lena Sanders, and you're listening to Posts and politics where
we break it all the way down, no fluff, just facts,
no confusion, just conversation. Today's episode, let's call it nine
(01:23):
point four billion medicaid mayhem and a billionaire brawl or
should we say billionaires brawl. That's right, We're diving deep
into President's Trump's proposal to slash nine point four billion
from the recession relief package. We'll unpack the recent medicaid
legislation that could shake up health access for millions. And yes,
(01:45):
we're gonna talk about the messy feud between Musk and
Trump because while Twitter fingers are flying, real policies are
slipping under the radar. Class is now in session. Just
go ahead and ring that bell. Let's get to the facts.
(02:14):
Nine point four billion on the chopping block. President Trump
is proposing to cut nine point four billion from the
recession relief package, Yes, the very monyment to help Americans
recover from financial hardship. According to the draft proposed that
(02:38):
was released this week by the Office of Management and
Budget OMB not cmb O ANDB. For those who know
what I'm talking about, you'll catch it later. These cuts
include reductions to housing assistance, childcare block grants, nutrition programs,
and yes, funding to states and local governments to support
(02:59):
jobs and public services. Kudos to those local elected officials
and those leaders who already already had a plan being
placed just in case this may happen. Let me ask
you this, how are we cutting funding meant to help
people get through a crisis while handing tax cuts to
(03:21):
the top one percent. It's giving priorities misplaced. Now this
Medicaid bill, lives lives are on the line because while
billionaires billionaires are feuding, real folks are about to lose coverage.
(03:45):
The billing question that I speak of is HR seventy
eight fifty two, the Medicaid Responsibility and Reform Act. Now.
It was passed quickly last week and aims to restrict
Medicaid eligibility for able body adults without the and shift
more of the financial burden to states. Now this bill passes,
(04:07):
you already know what's gonna happen. You already know what's
gonna happen. But here's the catch. Over ten million people
could be affected by new work requirements. Over ten million
people can be affected by new work requirements. States may
be forced to either raise taxes which we don't want,
cut services which we don't want, or dropped people from coverage,
(04:33):
which we definitely don't want. Let me break it down
for you all. This is not about saving money. It's
about shrinking the safety nets while pretending its reform. And
here's a thought. If your able body but live in
(04:53):
a rural County, which is majority of some states that
we may know with no transportation, limited jobs, I know childcare.
Does the work requirement help or will it hurt you?
(05:13):
That's something you need to think about. We have to
be real. Twitter beef are tactical distractions? Twitter beef or
it is a tactical distraction. Now about this billionaire beef
that's flooding your timelines. Elon Musk and Donald Trump have
(05:35):
been trading barbs online over AI, immigration, the economy, and
now presidential endorsements. Isn't this the same man who put
millions into the Trump campaign, So you didn't realize all
of this before you spent millions of dollars and then
you receive additional government contracts and got paid off of
(05:58):
taxpayers dollars. But this is really interesting. Elon reported reportedly,
excuse me, called Trump too old to innovate, while Trump
clapped back, saying, Musk is a clown with a rocket.
Now doesn't it sound real? Petty? Absolutely? But more importantly,
(06:20):
it sounds like a distraction. You bet it is. While
the Internet laughs, nine point four billion is getting flash Now,
that's bars. While the Internet laughs, nine point four billion
is getting flash. While we were postmemes. Millions risk losing
healthcare while they feud. You and I are footing the bill.
(06:45):
Let's not let this become the Kanye versus Taylor, you know,
the Tailor Swift situation. The moment of politics. It's noise,
and it's been used to cover real decisions that impact
real lives. It's used to cover real decisions that impacts
(07:08):
real lives. Now, anytime that I go live or get
on the air, I always have to provide some type
of action points. Because we can talk about issues every
day all day. There can be a complaint that could
be various things that that we're speaking of because of frustration.
But how is it going to help the people of America.
(07:31):
How's it going to help those in the rural areas,
How is it going to help those in the underserved communities.
We have to give an action plan. We have to
give them, but the instructions, we have to give them
some type of guide. This is what I want you
all to do. First. The first action plan, I need
you to sit down and read the bill. And if
(07:54):
you can't understand the bill, contact your local official that
you're voted in place, or whether you voted for them
or not. They are in place to represent you and
explain the bill to you, to give you the pros
and the cons. That's their job. You can go look
up HR seventy eight fifty two. You can go to
see also the Recession cuts proposal from O and B
(08:17):
at White House dot gov slash O and B. All
of that is available to you because it's public records.
You have access to see all of this information. Number two,
Contact your reps. You should know who they are, but
we're not gonna judge here. This is a non judgmental zone.
So if you don't, I'm gonna give you the tools
to go find them. You can go to House dot gov.
(08:38):
You can go to Senate dot gov. Put in your
address and find out who is representing you at the
capitol in DC, who's representing you at the capitol in
your state, who's representing you at your local courthouse, or
wherever it may be, if you need to contact them.
All to be able to contact those representatives that are
put in place, the senators, your congress men, all of
(09:00):
them that are put in place, your state representatives, your
state senators, all of them that are put in place
to represent you, and they should be involved in the conversation.
As you hear me say many times, this is not
a Republican or a Democrat situation. This is a people situation. Again,
(09:20):
this is a people situation. The third action stay loud
on social media. Social media is definitely a tool, especially
if you're hashtagging and tagging the right people. Use your voice.
Let them know that while billionaires bicker, you're watching what really,
(09:46):
what is really happening, and what really matters? Hashtag it,
hashtag from the people. Hashtag stop hr seventy eight fifty two,
hashtag no more cuts. We can see it. The cuts
are helping the people. But when you're cutting where it
hurts the people, that is a problem. We want to
(10:10):
talk about waste. There's a lot of things. Give me
the budget, I can show you waste. I can find
it for you. I can pinpoint now number four, which
is the main thing here, one of the main things.
Share this episode. Send this to least five people, post it.
(10:32):
Start the conversation. Because if we stay silent, they stay sneaky.
Let me say that again, If we stay silent, they
stay sneaky. That's gonna be the motto for the rest
of the year. If we stay silent, They stay sneaky,
(11:02):
my friends, I said every time. We can't afford to
be distracted. Not now, not when people are barely making it,
not when healthcare is on the line, not when billionaires
are putting on circus shows, while policies are being cut
gutted behind the curtain. They're being gutted behind the curtain.
(11:25):
We have to stay in form and stay engaged. This
has been pulsing politics, and i'm your host and Lena
Sanders again I shall say, stay in form, stay engaged,
and stay ready because the game is always being played,
but we don't have to be the pawns until next time.
(11:46):
Stay woke, stay bold, and keep your pulse on the politics.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
That's the pulse, that's the truth, only on pulse and politics.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
And then anything
