What does it look like to design a life around health, family, and the outdoors?
In this episode of Elegant Maine Living, I sit down with Charlotte Miller, a consultant, ski ambassador, sailor, and now proud resident of Cumberland, Maine.
Charlotte shares her journey from growing up outside Boston to college in Colorado (where she spent as many days on the slopes as in the classroom!) and eventually back to New England. A sudden life event shifted her perspective, leading her to prioritize joy, balance, and the outdoors over the traditional “big city” career grind.
When the pandemic hit, Charlotte and her husband traded city living in Charlestown for what they thought would be a long weekend in Harpswell, Maine. That “weekend” turned into a permanent move—anchored by mornings swimming in the ocean, running along the coast, and later raising their family surrounded by Maine’s natural beauty.
Together, Elise and Charlotte talk about:
Charlotte’s story is an inspiring reminder that sometimes the most important career and lifestyle decisions come from listening to what truly fuels your soul.
If you’ve been dreaming of a healthier, more intentional way of living, this conversation will make you see why so many are choosing Maine.
