(00:32):
It looks like you're going to acool place, I think so.
The Raven Grill.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
You know the famous connection point with that place
.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
Is it Edgar Allan Poe ?
No.

Speaker 1 (00:44):
Whenever Pearl Jam comes into town, town they hang
out there.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Really.
Yeah, that's pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Yeah, they first did it.
This was like maybe 10, 15,maybe even 20 years ago.
It was like this surface leveldude did you hear?

Speaker 2 (00:59):
you know?

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Eddie Vedder's at the Raven, and so of course
everyone, and their mom, goesthere.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
But they never come here anymore.
They don't.
They've been touring and I feellike it's like Philly and New
York and like never here.
Rude, have you been here areally long time?
I guess if you've worked at theWhite House, you've been here.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Yeah, I've been here my entire life.
Okay, you've been here.
Yeah, I've been here my entirelife.
I went to school in Florida.
I was very fortunate to comeback and start and end one
career here and then started mysecond, you know business and
never looked back.
So I've been very fortunate tobe a native that never had to
leave.
You know, in my business lotsof people had to go to the

(01:44):
middle of nowhere small marketsIf you're successful, great.
But some people go to themiddle of nowhere and they're
never heard from again.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
I was very, very fortunate.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
That's wonderful.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Yeah, it was just luck.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
How long have you been here?
Have you seen the city kind ofchange?

Speaker 1 (02:04):
I have, I have yeah, I mean, I think one of the
things that I talk about a lotwith people who are locals and
tourists when we do the podcastis how much these neighborhoods
have been changing.
There's always the staples, butyou get places like Noma and
Union Market that you would becaught dead in 15 years ago, but

(02:28):
now it's fantastic.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
So it is interesting to see those things.
The wharf obviously is one.
Yeah, you know, it's definitelya tour.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
I mean, I went to Georgetown for college and I
feel like.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Adams Morgan and DuPont were like the only places
you hung out right, the wholecity, right, right, you know
that's, that's fair and inGeorgetown yeah, but clearly
you're underachieving going toschool at Georgetown and um but
yeah, adams Morgan, I mean Iused to spend a lot of time
there when I was younger.
You know, in the pocket I wouldcall it um.

(03:05):
I don't really party lot oftime there when I was younger,
you know in the pocket I wouldcall it.
I don't really party that muchanymore, but when I did I was
there quite a bit.
It was like a total dive bar.
At the front was a facade.
It was like an old boat.
What was it called?
It's Escape, oh, dan's Cafe?
Oh yeah, we had like a bluefacade.
It was like remember that andHeaven and Hell Remember that

(03:29):
place, heaven and Hell.

Speaker 2 (03:31):
Something else is there, I think, maybe not, I
don't know, I can't remember.
I used to love that place.

Speaker 1 (03:37):
Yeah, Because downstairs I remember like these
weird, like rusty barber chairsor something like that, and
then all the girls obviouslywere upstairs at the dance club
part in the heaven part.

Speaker 2 (03:50):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
As it should be.
And then you know, madam'sOrgan's obviously been there
forever.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
What's your podcast called oh it's called Rideshare
Road Talk.
Rideshare Road Talk yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
I don't have an RSS feed, so it's just there's three
pilot share road talk.
Ride share road talk.
Yeah, it's um.
I don't have an RSS feed, soit's just there's three pilot
episodes on there.
It's published up on Apple asalmost like a placeholder, um, I
think it's on Spotify too, andso, uh, yeah, it's been kind of
a lot of good feedback from them.
First we'll be chatting withyou.

(04:24):
Awesome, thank you much.
That was great, hey, best ofluck to you also.
