“Always Hungry?” — The Raw Truth About Your Body’s Adjustment Phase

This mini episode dives into one of the hardest truths about the raw journey — feeling constantly hungry. And trust me, I get it. That hunger can feel loud, frustrating, and discouraging… especially when you’re making intentional changes.

But here’s something important to remember: the body is adaptable. If you feed it junk consistently, it’ll adjust to that. If you overeat, it’ll stretch — not just the skin, but the stomach itself. And if you suddenly make a shift toward cleaner eating, the body won’t always respond with instant ease.

We often mistake what the body has adjusted to as what’s natural — but they’re not the same. Our stomachs were never designed to hold the volume we’ve trained them to expect.

Let Go of Unrealistic Expectations

We jump into new lifestyles thinking our bodies will quickly fall in line. But I’m here to tell you: that’s just not how it works. The body is constantly recalibrating, trying to find balance — whether you’re feeding it fear, drugs, discipline, or fitness. It's doing the best it can with what you give it.

One hard truth? We're not the manufacturer. Our bodies didn’t come with a manual (and if they did, I'd be the first in line to read it!). So instead, we learn through experience. Even when the changes are good, the adjustment can feel hard.

That’s where patience comes in. That’s where your “why” has to be louder than your cravings. Because while your journey might go smoothly — it might also get tough. And in those tough moments, you need a reason to keep going.

To help you take that first step, I’ve created a simple raw vegan meal plan to get you through Day One. Because sometimes, getting started is the hardest part — and I’ve got you. :)

Where I Stand Right Now

My stomach has shrunk significantly, and while I still get the occasional craving, I’ve come to realize it’s rarely about the food itself. It’s the memories — the connection, and the moments tied to what I used to eat. I’m still a work in progress, still learning, still growing. This journey isn’t about perfection — it’s about presence, and I’m showing up for it every day.
