(00:00):
All right, you guys, welcome back to Runt pack ghost plane
walking episode 30.1. It's a.
Rico. Hey, yo.
Let's get into it. So, Mason, take us on this
journey. Tell me, tell me where we
started, where we've been. Yes.
So welcome, everyone. I'm Mason.
I'm your Dungeon master on this wacky wild ride.

(00:25):
So we're gonna start off with some characters here.
Yeah. Yeah.
I know you enjoyed that. I know you.
Did. Oh God.
All right, So we are a Dungeons and Dragons podcast and the
theme of our current campaign isplane walking that includes sort
of spatial gravel It. Yeah, yeah, it is in our title.
It is in our title. That's nice.

(00:47):
So that you know, you would think that involves a lot of
plane traveling, space walking. Dimensions shifting.
Some of them are good, some of them are evil.
Most of them are real. Morally great, just like planet
Earth. The beginning of our adventure

(01:09):
we started with four player characters.
Included in the Poor was Jaya, played by our friend Annette.
Jaya is a GIF gunslinger. A GIF is sort of like a hippo
person. These things are really cool.
They've got this like sort of militaristic background.
So Jaya is an old man and he's currently looking for his family

(01:31):
and I, we, we think he has dementia, right?
Oh, there's nothing about it. I'm certain.
I feel he has dementia. Good, good.
Excellent. Also we have higher Valaya,
played by Arfan Carter. Now higher is a small blue
cobalt, Cobalt like the sort of tiny dragon kin.
A higher is a yeah, like a little lizard.

(01:52):
A higher is a cleric who worships Ethera, who was the
goddess of a small plane that hecomes from called the Mundane
Plane. OK.
So the other players that we have up are currently with us.
So I'd like to start us off witha Dulum.
Dulum take it away. Oh, Dulum is a small autonom
from Agnes, So the sorcerer witha lot of rust.

(02:14):
Rusty Boy, little robot bag. He's a little robot guy.
Currently, he's coming to grip with getting emotions.
It's hard. It's not easy for such a tiny
robot. And other evil robots are out to
kill it. That's.
So sad. No, I'll never let that happen.
Hello I perfect segue. I, orifice, am a knight from the

(02:38):
afterlife plane of Valhalla. Yes, I did die once.
Long, long ago I've lived as a ghost knight, and now I've been
trapped inside the body of a frail human woman, an artificer,
and I'm learning how to use her,you know, gadgets, gizmos,
etcetera, to, you know, keep kicking ass.

(02:59):
Protect Doolum and all my other friends because they need my
protecting all. Right.
So that's basically a first castof character Hello.
Also, of course returned my beautiful queen Ridesy to
continue fighting at her side, except she doesn't want me
anymore. Are 4 heroes all begin in the

(03:23):
material plane, this sort of being regular good old fashioned
Earth having all been spit out of a large portal, each from
different locations. Several dozen other creatures
are also spit out from differentplanes, different universes,
different planets all over. So we have Jaya Higher Dulum and
Orpheus spat out of his portal into a small farming village

(03:47):
called a Bright Bank. Now Bright Bank is pretty simple
but the leader of Bright Bank, areligious guy, Father Luke
Chase, it's a big name. Got to hold on to that one for
later. Saw two of these creatures that
all appeared through a magic portal in the middle of he
chased. Us out of town for being from
different planes kicked us out. Well we met some friends while

(04:07):
we were there. Malagus, who's like this really
greasy human guy who is Oraphaeus's brother or the
brother of Oraphase's body, and a tea fling named Vinny, who is
just sort of a dude. Just sort of.
A dude he's. From water deep.
He's. From water deep.
He's a tea fling. A red tea fling.
Very nice. Whoa.

(04:28):
Except like, imagine a red tea fling who's not hot and like,
that's Vinny. And I know you might not have
thought that was possible, but Vinny's.
Repugnant. It's very important to the
character. Now the entire group is whisked
out of the city of Bright Bank and sort of have to slum it up
in the nearby forest, meeting some unusual creatures along the

(04:48):
way, getting in some fights and eventually they make their way
back to the city to push their way back through the very portal
that shoved them out. So a siege ensues.
The group pushes through and andsort of a twisted turn of
events, they grab Faulty Lucias, the leader of this village and
pull him right through the greatportal into the unknown.

(05:09):
This swirling sweeping portal pulls the group of them,
including Malagus and Vinny, some new found friends to a
small sort of city in the middleof a very small dimension called
Cercad. Now in Cercad, this again very
small city. The group finally gets their
bearings again, put some chains on Father Luchais and sort of

(05:32):
explores around. It is here that they meet up
with a few more people. Some sort of larger figures in
the city include a wizard named Zavrix who holds the only key to
exiting the city. A plainer wizard, in fact, who
basically is the only one allowing people in or out of
this little Circad dimension. We also met the Lady of Pain,

(05:53):
who's the leader of Zercad. Very, just, very just maybe.
Cruel, certainly lawful. Oh my God, did a bunch of jobs
for her because we like women inpower.
And it's also here that during the great sort of investigation,
I like to think of it as detective work that Oraphase has
been doing to find out what's going on with their body,

(06:16):
what's. Going on.
We then meet a shopkeep named Samir Arvilus.
Now Samir, he's a great guy. We'll touch on him in just a
moment. But with Samir comes our next
player character. That's right, our fifth player
joining us, Instacad. This is Demos, who was played by

(06:39):
our lovely friend Xavier. Now, Demos is sort of a chimera,
right? He's got a lizard head.
Well, dragon head, whatever. Dragons are lizards, and if you
don't have wings, it's a lizard.Lizard head, goat legs, lion's
body, bipedal and lion paws. Big old lion paws that cast the
most evil spells you've ever seen.

(07:02):
So Demos our Chimera is a wizardwho comes from the Plain of
Kings, a dimension that had no magic.
So he very recently learned whatmagic was, having been spit out
and meeting Samir the shopkeep. Now Demos spent about 1/2 a year
working with Samir in his shop as sort of like an apprentice

(07:23):
and top keep and the two of themgot to know each other pretty
well over that time. So the group all.
Samir is Davos's dad now. I don't understand how that
happens with two adult men. But Davos calls Samir dad
severe, of course, being a 25 year old Gollum.
Yes, see, that's actually, you know, you got to go back and

(07:43):
really watch it, watch our episodes, because it's a big
reveal that Samir's a Gollum man, really big.
The fans went crazy for that one.
He has a clay Gollum, so made out of clay.
Clay Oh man, was that something? Was that?
Yeah. Now then also a bird in Circat.
So the group does odd jobs for the Lady of Pain and earns some

(08:06):
money along the way. And sort of in the middle of
this, this figure that they kidnapped from the material
plan, Father Luches sort of through the power of his God,
stages a siege on the city, inviting in some sort of
religious mercenaries from the material plane to, you know,
curl catapults, throw ballistas and kill a lot of people in this
town. It was fucked up.

(08:27):
People died. Now the groom bought him off
well, and Father Luchas was punished pretty accordingly by
the Lady of Pain. We picked up a straggler that
was Tick, a child soldier FatherLujais had hired who knew hire
as they came from the same plane.
And so then, for their bravery in defending the city against
Father Lujais's attack, the Ladyof Pain granted the Group A

(08:49):
transportation cube, which allowed them to travert the
planes. With this, the group immediately
decides to go to WADA, Deep homeof Vinnie the Red Seasling.
We need to shrug that guy off somewhere.
That's how they group arrives toWaterdeep back on the material
plan. A large, beautiful port town,
quite massive. You know, I'm putting you in the

(09:09):
mind of an old fashioned New York and immediately dumps Vinny
to the wayside. Yeah.
Fuck that guy, Bye bye. Here the group gets into all
sorts of mischief around the town, finally let loose in a
real city. Many more people are also around
here that the group has run into.
For example, Demos, our chimera friend, had found a member of

(09:32):
his Royal Court from the Plain of Kings, his old effectively
his instructor. Folker.
He's also. No, he's he's also a lizard.
There's a fucking lot of reptiles here.
This one's actually a lizard folk though.
Now Demos does also call this guy dads, so that's two dads for
those counting 2. Demos has two dads now fucking.

(09:56):
Greedy. How many of the dads do any of
the rest of us have, Mason? None Dads.
Actually none. 00 Ghosts don't get dads Robots don't get dads
Higher of. Robots.
Whatever. Speaking of robots, in the town
of Waterdeep, Dulum finds solacein a autonom that I suppose is

(10:17):
the same make and model of Dulumitself.
A professor of Autonomes, A fellow named Doctor Him, Dulum
and Dr. Him. Hit it up.
Have a nice time, really enjoy each other's company, right?
You know, you sort of meant to be as, as these two guys get
together. So cool, but the group finds
they are run out of money again.I don't know where you guys

(10:37):
spend all your shit, it really just disappears.
Don't get a lot to spend, really.
Yeah. And I feel like I consistently
blow it on something before it ever like enters my inventory.
And so then the group travels toa nearby dungeon outside of
Waterdeep to basically earn somemoney, do some odd jobs, collect

(10:59):
whatever they can. And most importantly, to find
Hire's brother Monty, who is supposedly gone missing inside
of this dungeon. Yes, yeah.
And so spending some time in thedungeon, several days as I
imagine nearly a week of underground time, the group
finally completes enough of these smaller quests and
eventually finds Hire's brother,Monty.

(11:20):
Now, Monty is also a cobalt, a yellow Cobalt.
But something is wrong with Monty as you guys find him.
He is a zombie. Now, Monty is not necessarily a
violent zombie, just sort of a miss and confused all the time.
Great description. And so the group sort of kidnaps

(11:40):
him, drags him back to what I'm effectively calling daycare,
which now consists of Tick, the small Kenku girl that you guys
got, and now Monty. Should include Malagus.
Yeah, Malagus is fun. Malagus is DPS.
Malagus does does damage, I promise.
Malagus doesn't do shit. Malagus is greasy, that's what

(12:01):
he is. So with Monty rediscovered, the
group sets up a deal with a nearby priest to heal Monty, but
it requires quite a bit of money, which the group does not
have, so more fun breaking. Fundraising So we did like a
bikini car wash, right I. Think you know, I don't think

(12:23):
you guys have gotten a beach episode yet.
It's sort of sad. Fuck.
Fuck. So then with I suppose, I guess
you guys decided you wanted a bit of levity, huh?
Taking a break from all the hustle and bustle, we did get
our masquerade ball episode. Yes, that's what you can tell
us. A good DND podcast.
Yes, lots of what's the word intrigue.

(12:44):
Intrigue, romance, intrigue. I don't know about romance.
Suspicious and beautiful. Beautiful, fleeting moments.
A lot of touching romance seen at the masquerade ball.
It is at this masquerade ball that the group meets Abel, A
fellow ghost from the afterlife plane of Valhalla.

(13:07):
Now what do we know about Abel? OK, so he is the patron of music
and performing arts where I comefrom.
He's lower ranked than me, don'tworry.
And here he is stuck in the bodyof the Berg by escaped convict.
So he wasn't escaped when Abel arrived.

(13:27):
Abel arrived in prison and busted out, and now he's in.
He's travelling with us and he likes being alive a little too
much for oral face's taste a little too into it.
But it actually wasn't even tillthe end of the night that you
guys actually found Abel for. Before then, quite a few things
happened. First off, there was a.
Bomb threat. Orpheis himself got sort of

(13:50):
pulled away, right? Yeah, I fucking ran the bomb.
Oh, actually, no, sorry. First the President wanted to
speak to me. That Rex Yamir, who is also a
ghost from Valhalla. Except apparently not a ghost,
but one of the masked Lords of Waterdeep who vacations in
Valhalla to like, kill people and be evil.

(14:12):
So he was an old enemy of Auro. But now that they're both
trapped in water deep as Valhalla has been sealed off,
they have a tentative alliance. Rex Shamir's helping me out with
some leads, some places to go to.
They're kind of hot in like a Milfy way.
The current theory that Orifaeushas right now is that the body
of the person that he is inhabiting Eastland or Iceland,

(14:35):
whatever bitch is in Valhalla having sort of swapped bodies
with Orifaeus and is now sort ofspeaking into the right ears, if
you know what I'm saying. She's doing something to lead my
beautiful queen right to see astray.
I don't know what, but I don't like it.
Well, and theoretically, our best guess is that we think
Iceland is trying to resurrect Redisi into the material plane.

(14:58):
So Rex Yamir, the one of the mass Lords of Waterdeep, takes
Orifais for a bit of a ride around town and in the meantime
the rest of the group, I believeit was higher actually our our
blue Cobalt friends discovered that the great chandelier above
the masked ballroom was a bomb had been installed inside of it.

(15:19):
Mr. President, good. Job so with hires very
insightful noticing of this bombchaos was raised in the room as
everyone sort of raised the alarm bells.
We had Dulum running around running point for people.
Jaya I think was in there somewhere.
Demos got picked up by an eligible bachelor and went off
to sort of disappear for the night.

(15:41):
So it wasn't no help. Broke the virginity pact.
Fucking skank boom boom the lastsurvivors.
After some what I would like to consider pretty creative parts
usage, the group managed to place the bomb, which consisted
of about like 500 candles, inside of their bag of holding,

(16:02):
and Orpheus, boosted up on roids, arrived just in time to
run the bag to the edge of the city, exploding a piece of
farmland but killing no one. They all hate when a bad bitch
starts running. So with the masquerade ball over
and done, the group finally takes a moment to breathe and

(16:23):
enjoy the evening. And it's around this time that
finally they unmask Abel or facehis friend who does join the
party, a musician, but doesn't know how to play music with
these new hands of his so currently as a fighter.
You should stay that way. So tragedy strikes the next
morning though, as even though the runs did a pretty good job,
you know, defusing the bomb fromthe night before, Doctor Him,

(16:46):
close friend of Doolum and professor of Autonomes is found
dead in the streets. Now Dulum though, does put on a
pretty excellent detective hat or a face as well, and this
Sherlock and Watson pair go around the city pretty
excellent. Investigate.
Sounds like I'm Watson. I'm more of a Sherlock type.

(17:12):
The group makes their way into several different guard houses,
asking the right people the right questions and finally
finding a prisoner. An apartment that's not right.
Hold on. And individual who had been
playing in the band the night before at that masquerade ball,
a piccolo player. Now the group interrogates this
individual in one of the great Wizards Towers of water deep and

(17:36):
does some black. Star of Tower.
And just pretty horrible, like mental trauma to this guy.
This is where Demos's evil magicreally came into play here.
Bella oh we were so not evil to this guy, we were just trying to
help him cuz his memory had beenwiped.
Yeah, so it sort of scraped out the inside of that brain bowl.
OK, we were seeing what's left. It was in his best interest,

(17:57):
too. Spoon in there was just what's
scraping what you've. Been evil.
That was so not evil. We were doing our best.
Eventually, though, the group accidentally angered the wrong
wizard in the Black staff tower, and the prisoner was immediately
executed, leaving the mystery open.
Oh. It's to be solved, to be solved

(18:17):
exactly. Now then, the group has gone
back into what is effectively a standard beat around water deep
and was able to sort of follow afew more clues.
Or Ephaeus looked into Rex Yamir, the Mass Lord, and tried
to ask about what's happening inValhalla as well.

(18:38):
Doolum finds the last Will and Testament of Doctor him, leaving
behind a few more clues, and thedate of Monty's revival from the
priest grows ever nearer. So the group does need some
money if I'm not mistaken. We've taken on a job.
Yes, and so right about where we'll leave off is the Lady of

(18:59):
Pain, good friend. And what what's with?
A close employer from Circad sends a message out to Doolum
informing him that Zavrix, the plainer Wizard of Circad, is due
for execution. More specifically, the group has
been hired to kill him. Papa, no mercy.
That's good. All right, that brings us up to
