(00:00):
All right, you guys, welcome back to Run Pack does D&D.
Let's get into another very special episode.
So you may or may not be able totell by the inherent chemistry
which is crackling in the air. We are recording live together

(00:20):
today. Wait, Wait, wait, wait, wait,
wait. We're.
Looking into everyone's beautiful eyes.
Isaac's beautiful blue eye. My blue eyes.
Everyone close your eyes. What color eyes is Isaac?
Wait. Shit, it's blue.
I'm. Butting blue, I'm butting blue.
I said blue. I will do it.
You know, this episode is special for many reasons because

(00:42):
this is it's not in fact, an installment of run pack goes
plane walking. Instead, we are returning to
campaign one goes down under. Oh.
My. God.
Reunion special Your campaign Original party The Lost.
Campaign of the Ross. Pack.
So we will introduce everything as it comes up.

(01:03):
If you didn't listen to the first campaign when it aired, I
think I'll still enjoy this. So join us, join us, you get a
lot of insight into our play styles and what parts of us are
just us and not the characters we play.
Do both characters have a similarity?
That's probably just the person.Yes, everyone, welcome back.

(01:24):
This is the Run Pack. This was actually the first Run
Pack campaign. Run Pack goes down under and we
played this for 2 1/2 years. Yeah.
Give or take. Long campaign, good, healthy
campaign, good stuff. It is, of course, the lost
episodes of the Runt back. Yeah.
Live only you. You were there or you were.
You had to be there. It was not recorded.
Dungeons and Dragons history. But it went down in history, so

(01:46):
we'll sort of introduce everyone.
You get to really pick apart your runs, see what made them.
Pick This was our first. Campaign so you can see sort of
what people. Picked for their first
character. See what was popular, see what
was happening. Sort of psychoanalyze.
It really doesn't matter what you do for your first character
poster. Psychoanalysis in the comments,
please. You did do a British accent.
Yes, I hope you guys all remember your accents.

(02:07):
It's been a year since we've played this.
I hope you guys all remember allthe things you learned about
this campaign. We'll sort of introduce
characters as we go. And please everyone, welcome to
this fun bonus episode. So.
We begin three years after the end of the last campaign.
Three years is a long time for agroup of adventurers, especially

(02:30):
some. As sort of busy as you guys are,
we left off in the last campaignin the depths of the Underdark.
The whole campaign, in fact, wasset in the Underdark.
Are unlikely group of of adventurers had just sort of
sporadically bit violently and very chaotically laid siege to

(02:52):
the great city of Menzo Baronzon, the home of the
Drought folk in the Underdark. Hello, we protected it.
There's the entire. Underdog window?
There's no good deal. The great culmination of the
campaign was the reveal of four, perhaps 5 great entities, Elder
Elementals, creatures older thansome gods, slumbering deep in

(03:18):
the Underdark. One for Fire, one for water, one
for Air, one for Earth, and one for the Astral Ethereal Plane.
These great creatures all culminated in a great fitful
battle against one another. And at the great culmination of
it all, our heroes, the Runts, managed to quell them all with a

(03:38):
very large scale sleep spell putin the entire Underdark to sleep
for many, many years. At the end of the campaign, you
guys all sort of found, I'd liketo think, some purpose, some
endings to what you were doing and each with your separate ways
or sometimes together. The adventure today, three years
out, begins with a box shipped to each and everyone of you.

(04:05):
Regardless of your location, regardless of where you are, be
it running a small bookstore, traveling on the road, or
leading a small city state, thisbox found its way to you.
Perhaps an innkeeper gave it to you at the inn you're staying
at. Perhaps it arrived right at your

(04:25):
front door at your storefront. Perhaps a dear friend handed it
to you. All the same, it made its way to
you. We'll begin with Karma Velour in
Iraq. The full name Karma Velour in

(04:46):
Iraq. Velour in Iraq.
Karma. This was my first character.
Karma. You find yourself in the
Underdark, remaining still. You managed to find a small
conglomerate of people, not quite a city in the Underdark.
But rather a. Village.

(05:07):
A safe village. Cities seem to bring with
themselves a bit of trouble. Each and everywhere you go,
somehow trouble finds its way. But here in the village you
found safety, and for the past three years you've spent your
time amicably and peacefully with Dunzod.
Could you please give us a briefreminder of what karma looks

(05:29):
like? So Karma is a very bright shade
of most mostly yellow fur on a hair and gone which is a rabbit
like creature. I believe Karma is a medium
sized creature. Karma is affected by several
mutations which have really justfucked up his body more and

(05:53):
more. Firstly one of my mutations.
I have gone blurrier with every level up to where I don't think
people can really see my body anymore and it has gotten worse.
I'm very lightweight. I flowed up to the ceiling if
not weighed down by objects, which is.

(06:13):
It's great in the Underdark because I always like to escape
to the ceiling. And I believe my body is also
partially made of wood, which I took to boost my AC.
Yeah. So Karma took any chance he
could to hook up his body. And that is my little guy.

(06:34):
Thank you. Thank you.
All right. Karma.
So Karma. Awful evil.
Awful. Yeah, I know.
You're right. You're right.
Chaotic. My bad.
Karma the rogue has settled downa bit, finding instead the
peaceful life with Dunzod, the dark orc.
Now a dark orc is just an orc. You'd imagine a taller broader

(06:55):
frame with the big tusks sticking out, but darker skinned
to blend in with the under dark setting.
Dunzod is currently operating asa school teacher in the small
village. He, having spent most of his
life teaching children, adopted the practice as a full time job
and now spends most of his days either working in a daycare or

(07:17):
working as a elementary school teacher.
Now of course, the pay isn't quite good and he sometimes
finds himself in a bit of trouble with some of the nastier
students who like to play prankson him.
But in his class includes several of the smaller kids that
he's found in his custody, including Nails, the young drow

(07:37):
boy who had recently adopted. Now karma, You spent most of
your time around the house goingaround and that's why making a
better person for yourself, right?
Yeah, Karma's really tried to spend these last three years
mostly trying to stay out of trouble, which he did with the
party. So really trying to lay low,

(08:00):
really trying to not ruin Dunzod's career options in the
city can. I just interject really quick.
When we first met Dunzod, he murdered me, and now he gets.
Bullied by schoolchildren. It's true, he did actually good.
To know where I am, he's. Scared.
He was one of our many babysitters for the party's many
children. Was this?
Yeah. Sure got away from us with how

(08:21):
many kids though were. You're asking too many.
But. So.
Returning now to the Box Karma, you're at your home, a beautiful
quaint Little Rock home in the Underdark.
You've quite fallen in love withthe Underdark yourself.
While you miss the sun sometimes, the real estate is
great down here. It's quite easy and in fact, you

(08:42):
and Dunzot found this lavish, beautiful cavern that you made
your home. You installed a great beautiful
wooden door and added all the furnishings and livings of a
gorgeous home. Additionally, you guys have your
own bedroom in here, a little kitchen with a little chimney
smokestack that pokes out of thetop, sending smoke into the high
reaches of this cavern. Additionally, there's a small
room for Nails. The young draw boy who lives

(09:05):
with the two of you and who's taking quite a bit of a liking
to you. You noticed him being a well,
rather grown up in the bad part of town where he was from.
He's adopted a few roguish practices himself that you
yourself, being a master of it now, have been able to sort of
show him the ropes when Dunzo's not looking and keep him excited
in this practice. Nothing dangerous, of course,

(09:27):
but he appreciates you nonetheless.
And it was around one of these times that you're sitting around
at home, perhaps playing around with nails, that you hear a
knock knock at the door. On approaching, you open it and
you are met with this box. Now, the reason we begin with
this box is that this is no ordinary box.
This package is unique as as youopen the door and look out, a

(09:50):
roaring flame meets you. The box is on fire right on your
doorstep. You look at it and fear hits you
for a moment. What do you?
Want to do fuck? They found us.
We got to move God. What does this box?
Look like you look it's it's hard to see what's happening

(10:11):
under the roaring flame. It looks large and somewhat
square, about half a meter wide and half a meter tall, and
you're not quite able to tell, but it looks like the packaging
is safe. There's no burn marks on it.
You think there's lettering atopon the very top of package note,
but it's hard to read. You'd have to give me a
perception check to see more. Sick.

(10:33):
Yeah, Carmen is gonna stick his hands in that fire and try to
reach that note. Okay, you don't even have to
stick your hands in. You could just sort of glance in
and read it. I apologize, I have another
mutation where I can only read objects.
I'm touching those. So I actually don't see anything

(10:54):
and they put my hand. On the box, Oh my God, there's.
Some letters there, yeah. I missed karma.
Oh my God. You hear a sort of voice behind
you. Nails the small drow boy.
Hey, what's up? Is there something out there?
But stay back I'm I don't know what this is.
Should we wait for other dad to come home?

(11:16):
Other dad doesn't like when thisdad does this sort of thing.
I I think we I think let's keep him out of it.
Let's you don't you want to see what it is I really.
Want to see what it is I really?Want to see what it is?
OK, you thrust your hands into the fire.
Roll me a Dexterity saving throw, please. 16.

(11:37):
OK. 16 so. You.
Dash your hands into the flames. They don't lick up quite so high
as to frighten you, and you're able to stick your hands in and
properly rub them across the text on top to read.
Unfortunately, the flames do lick at your fingertips and you
take a bit of damage as part of the process.
A total of 5 fire damage as it licks up to the top of your

(12:01):
fingers. You wince a bit, but you still
look tough and nails sort of looks over your shoulder and
gives you a nod as you read it. It reads to Karma the law in
Iraq. Exposed to Vermont.
From the High Draconid of Gracelstube, the worm Smith with

(12:26):
urgency. Fucker.
Oh my God. There's nothing else written
atop it. Shit, it doesn't even say your
guys names. I'm nails.
I think I'm going to jail. I, I really didn't think, like,
I didn't think the Worm Smith had jurisdiction over here, but
I gotta go, I guess. I don't know.

(12:47):
Look at Daddy. It's.
Like on. Fire.
Yeah, yeah, I've already died once.
Shit. Man, you never told that story.
That's awesome. Wait, what?
Yeah, I was dead for like 4 episodes and then and then got
to rub it out of the ground. Yeah, I don't know, maybe this

(13:08):
is something to play hooky over.Surely the others must know
something. It is around this time that
Donzod approaches at the end of his day.
Just happened to time it just right for us, I suppose.
The packages were coming in. He's holding in his hands a
large bundle of children's toys, mostly made out of wood and a

(13:29):
few metallic bits. Nothing exactly playful in your
eyes, but I suppose kids go crazy over them.
He approaches and as he sees something on fire on the
doorstep, he drops them all and runs over.
Karma. Karma What?
Is everything OK? What's wrong?
He holds his hands up. Karma tries to obscure this on
fire like chest within like his own blurriness kinda underneath

(13:53):
his big tape that formally I think Oh my God.
Karma shit. Yeah, Karma had a Cape that
could never leave his body and also was attached to him and
told him. To kill people.
So talk to you, right? Didn't you get the voice
removed? I think I got the voice removed

(14:13):
because it got really scary. But yes, the Cape that I can
never take off. I'm trying to hide it within my
Cape and I'm like nothing but doyou bring toys home from work?
I just thought Nails might want some.
These were donations and I wanted to, you know, I wanted
him to have first pick. That's crazy.

(14:34):
So. I'll.
Bring the best rest back to school.
I just you said any sort of approaches and gets up next to
you. You notice he is quite a bit
taller than you and can sort of look over the top of your head
to see the box on fire. But he notices Nails are sort of
looking at it inquisitively and it's not doing any damage, but
he looks down at your hands. He reaches forward with his

(14:55):
large burly hands. He grabs the two of your own and
rubs the burn scars that you just recently gained.
Karma, don't hurt yourself over something stupid like this.
Let's let me go grab those. When Dunzad touches Karma's
hands, he focuses on them so that they become somewhat less

(15:18):
blurry and a little more apparent, and Karma says no, no,
I think it's magical fire. I don't know.
We should. I feel like maybe we should open
it first. Well, let's do it together.
I'll put nails away. He probably shouldn't watch
this. I mean he is getting pretty old.

(15:38):
Yeah, I know you'll. Have to deal with this sort of
thing eventually down here. You know, I just want to keep
him safe. But you're right.
You're always right. I turn to nails and like jerk my
head towards like a particular like potential hiding spot and
that I may put like a hand to myear as if signaling that he can
like put his like ear to the door like if if he wants to.

(16:02):
He gives you a very devious grinand a nod, and then he slips
behind the door and you hear theself to.
Click OK, Let's. Do this together all right.
If I can't get the hose, then I suppose you can.
I mean, you can get the hose, just bills have been really
tight this. He trots behind the house going

(16:25):
to the the water pump that you guys have and wraps one of the
long rubber tubes around the end, quickly dashes back over
with it and he hands it to you. He goes back to the well itself
and starts pumping. You see his big arms muscle as
he pulls the great lever up and down, pulling water from the
earth. Few moments after, water begins

(16:45):
spurting out of the end of the hose, and you notice it quickly
begins extinguishing the flames. And the fire goes out quickly.
What's left is a bright red box, almost as if it's still a flame.
The flames are out, though, and now you have a better look at
its shape. It's still.
Yeah, about half a meter by halfa meter wide.

(17:06):
And it's looks heavy. You see a bit of folding at the
bottom, as if someone travelled a great distance with it and
something was pushing at the bottom.
Gonzod runs back over, puts a hand on your shoulder and goes,
OK, we should open this together.
It looks kind of scary. Yeah, I don't know if we can
touch trust the worm, Smith. Last time we did, we killed her

(17:29):
unborn successor. OK.
He guns out of, sort of holds a hand out to you, and he sort of
rubs your cheek and sort of instinctually, your cheek goes a
little less blurry, a trick thatthe two of you picked up over
the last three years. Adorable.
And he gets a chance to see yourface.
He gives you a smile and you seethe big tusks stick out.

(17:49):
And he goes. That'll be all right.
Let's do it together. You want to open the box.
Oh yeah, trying to guide both ofour hands over right together.
You slip off the two top pieces, untwine the wrapping on top and
open it and. As you do so.
We'll jump again to the next group.

(18:11):
Next we jump to. Echo.
Echo last name withheld. Also sometimes called
Bloodhound. That's true.
You had a couple of aliases actually, but we'll go with Echo
and Bloodhound for this one. Yeah, Echo, why'd you have so
many aliases? OK, Oscar.

(18:33):
Yeah, Oscar. Zachary Van Dolphinia.
Echo, you're on the road right now from where we left.
Off you have. Sort of transformed from a
vigilante Ranger into more of a salesman door to door.
In this time, you found yourselfa bit more on the road,

(18:54):
traveling as it were, worshipping your God, the
traveler. By doing so.
In these travels, you've traveled far and wide on the
overworld, spending most of yourtime at the home base of
Waterdeep, the city on the Sword's coast.
Right now you find yourself several miles outside of
Waterdeep in the small but. Still.
Lavish town of Daggerford, about10 miles outside of Daggerford.

(19:17):
Now you are in and in. You're alone right now, save
for, of course, your companion. You travel with a host.
Of bugs and additionally. Oh.
My. God, the way you control.
And additionally, you picked up a traveling companion, a much,
much larger insect, a giant dungbeetle that you were able to

(19:44):
hound from the zookeeper in the underdarts that you guys came
across, whose name is Goji. Goji.
Now, this dung beetle, while still listens to your commands,
it has a bit of a mind of its own, and it's treated more like
a horse. You stable it in the stables
outside, and due to its large body, you can sort of throw your
supplies and goods that you wishto sell over it.

(20:04):
Right now it's stationed outside, and it's an early
morning for you. Right now you've woken up
perhaps a bit early. And you've also received a
notification from the Bellman that a package is waiting for
you. It has a bit unique property, so
it's been left outside by your steed.
As you go up to see it, you see the flames roar.

(20:26):
Echo, could you please recap forus what you look like?
Echo's a changeling, and right now as a traveling salesman, I'd
say they're probably looking like an older, shorter human
man, Probably with some, I like a regal looking man, What Echo
would assume is like a merchant kind of person with some regal

(20:49):
looking. You know, merchant clothes, A
monocle. Yeah, I like that.
A good top hat, probably classic.
It's a collation. Yeah, to recap, you do have
clothes that change with your form, right?
That's. True you, your skin.
Clothes. My skin clothes, well, my skin
does change. And then also I didn't do have

(21:11):
magical clothes that change intoanything broken.
So what do you imagine Echo was selling out here?
I think it's after a few year, well three years, I think Echo's
still trying to figure out exactly how to get a hole in the
market. I was thinking that the one of

(21:33):
the most popular things that heck would probably sell at the
moving merchant, of course, the the shop that they're key
things. I think one of the most popular
goods is probably for five gold. You can say anything to anyone
in your life so it would turn into them.
And you can, you know, you, yourboss, what you want to say, so
you. Will wasted so much money on you

(21:56):
when they were broken. You know you hate your boss, you
know you can role play. Would be like to quit and see
the boss's reaction. That's probably the first
seller. I like that.
Could you do voices though? Yeah, you've never heard them.
You can perfectly replicate them, right?
Yeah. That's right, they're vocal
cords. Yeah, exact vocal cord

(22:18):
replication. We had a lot of contention over
how that works. That's true.
But so right now, you're an old man.
Yes, an old regal. Regal human salesman.
Excellent. So right now you're selling your
body as a service. Well, also, you know, I learned
some blacksmithing, some services and some just common.
Issues you've been working around.

(22:39):
Right now in front of you sits this flaming box.
You're not sure how it's found you, and you're not even sure
it's for you. But on closer inspection, just
sort of gazing atop, you see flickering letters making that
some sort of to and from. What would you like to do?
I would go up and read it. Reading the top, you see
something similar to what Karma saw.

(23:00):
It says on the top. To echo you know this
immediately, not a lot of peopleknow that name from the
Hydraconid of Grackelstuke the Worm Smith with urgency.
I want to sort of look around the end, you know, like if
anyone's around. You look around, you're in

(23:22):
somewhat of a farming town rightnow.
Surely people on the street are sort of looking, overseeing the
flaming box in the road, but nota lot of people seem to care a
lot about what's happening here.OK, I'll try to like I'll get.
I'll get out a small pouch that I have and put some sand over
the fire. Yes, that's right, you've got a
sand pouch and pull out your sand and very intelligently

(23:45):
throw sand to douse the fire. It takes a few handfuls, but
eventually the flames, without having much else to burn on,
flicker and die, leaving this red box behind.
You read the note a little closer and you see it's
completely unsinged, the entire box completely fine.
No one else seems to be noticinghere.
Your giant beetle, the dung beetle in the stable sort of

(24:06):
clicks with excitement, looking over and leaning towards you.
You feel your hand reach out instinctually.
Toward it. Oh my God, wait in his evil van
I. Thought we fixed it.
It's a little mostly fixed. Mostly fixed.
It's. Not evil anymore, but it still
has a bit of a mind of its own for the viewers at home.
Echo has a was cursed with a mutation that gave their left or

(24:30):
was it right? It was left right.
Yeah. Left hand a Willow and bind of
its own. Also made it into a knife hand
that could. Bring in.
Anyone who got? Near it so I.
Don't know if you guys remember but it was sharpening itself at
night to become a knife and. And if you rolled in that 1E got
damaged instead, no prisoners. It became so strong that it

(24:51):
would like, climb and drag my body while I was sleeping.
Yeah. We had to make Echo sleep in the
hole. In the locked.
Basement. With your fucking like, hands
tied. I forgot.
Yeah, we. Always like the cruise bag?
I got my own floor on our boat. Your own cruise That's right,
someone made you like a cross tosleep on it's.

(25:13):
Horrible. I think we like.
Just crate slipping quarters. It was a great look.
For hey, you always got privacy.Dude that's true.
Oh, I got loved it. Then you can just let your body
go limp and sleep. Free.
Yeah, There you go. Why didn't Jesus try that?

(25:34):
Go full limp. So with the box doused in front
of you now, what would you like to do?
I'll sort of give it a little more kick with my cane to see if
it explodes immediately, and if it doesn't I'll open it.
It feels heavy. In fact, it moves almost like
there's a liquid inside, sort ofsloshes back and forth.
You notice the box is. Sturdy, and there's a bit of

(25:56):
warping on the bottom, as if someone carried it a long way
with something heavy inside. Nothing seems to move though,
nothing explodes. You want to go to open it.
Yeah, I'll look at my dung beetle and I can go to open it.
It nods. Yeah.
The bees and flies buzz around you and you go to open it.
As you do so, we'll jump again, this time to Fin Deafinia

(26:19):
Jakobsen. Ready for this introduction?
Finn, you find yourself. In a.
Bookstore one of your own creation in the city of
Waterdeep. A fine enough estate you found
yourself upon. Outside the city.
Outside the City of Water. Sure it is.

(26:39):
A storefront on a a middling busy Rd.
Countryside you you got to make a trip.
Hey, sparsely populated Rd. He's trying to help your
business out here. No, it makes only the worst
business. Decision, actually.
You said you were going to invest in anything that would
improve the bookstore. Well, yeah, but that's like

(27:00):
protecting the books. It's.
Not about. Getting people to come so you
will currently own and just run this bookstore on the outskirts
of Waterdeep. The bookstore is on a nice
little property you picked up this manner that seemed to have
collapsed and was in disrepair with a long stretch of land that
connected to the sea. A welcome little piece of a port

(27:23):
that you could connect to make connections and establish trades
with some seafaring folk. You currently reside here with
Mako, the Red Tiefling whom Finnhas was close with for a much of
the last campaign and best friends for the last campaign,

(27:44):
and Mako decided he wanted to come work with you, albeit he
has his own small side projects, but he helps you out where he
can to build up this dilapidatedplace.
You were just in the middle of opening up shop for the day, in
fact it frightened you. As you woke up for the day you
found that a great crate of books had been half burned.

(28:04):
Oh fuck. A.
Box laid right outside of your establishment.
Is it still on fire? It's flames lick upward and the
Creek nearby burns heavily. I drop my sword.
Immediately, often, or defensive.
Could we please get a description?
Of. Finn, yeah.

(28:26):
Finn Finn Jacobson is I guess 27year old now, half drow man.
Man question mark. White skin, white hair, human
brown eyes. Tall for 1/2 Drow like 5-7 Tall

(28:52):
tall 5. 7. 57 He actually no longer carries his sword with
him everywhere, but I like to think it's probably propped
against the entryway so we can grab it pretty quick.
Instead of the classic leather armor and red scarf, now he's
just wearing a simple blue woolen sweater.
And also he looks like he hasn'tslept in a minute.

(29:14):
This guy's got some. Deep, deep dark circles and a
fuck ass haircut. You don't have.
You still you kept the face. It's not a fan.
It's not a fan. Three years ago it's.
Grown out, but it's still kinda. You can tell he's doing it with
the knife. Under what?
Class. Were you?

(29:35):
Finn is in fact a Blade Singer wizard as a.
Weezer. I think he was naturally
predisposed to be a wizard, but his father figure wanted him to
be a swordsman, so he does a little bit of both.
But tell me about that guy. He's probably like, not that
important. I'm an adult Maui.
It's not like I think about him all the time every day.

(29:56):
And yeah, that that's pretty much what I look like.
Obviously I've got my trusty spellbook.
I think I carry it most places now.
But you know, the the spellbook harness is still on the floor
next to the sword. Oh well.
Yes, as I see this. Fire smoke does begin to pour
from my ear, I. Miss that?

(30:19):
Anxiety takes the holes. Oh fuck fuck fuck fuck, fuck.
God, Marco and I'll I'll grab mysword and I want to just run it
across my palm. Cutting yourself again?
And as the blade goes across, instead of blood, droplets of a

(30:42):
gushing torrent of salt water shoots forth as my mutation, my
well, my second mutation. The first being of course the
smoke ears take us old. I will point this at the box and
try to sprinkle it with water. Help.
Help. Fuck fuck.
Shit. Oh, is everything OK?
No, no. It's on fire.

(31:03):
It's on fire. I don't know.
I didn't do this. I fuck, fuck fuck.
Your hand sprays out a torrent of water.
It quickly douses the crate of books that looked like new
shipments, as well as this box in red I'm.
Making it. Worse.
Oh. God.
Smoke smoulders up, not from you, but from the boxes in front
of you. But do you see plumes of red

(31:25):
curl out of your ears? Mako comes up behind you and you
see he looks a bit sort of wokenup for the day.
He's got bed head. And.
Looks around wildly. Mako the Red Tee Fling.
Has. Two curled horns that curve
upward with gold tips on the end, replaced now from where his
previous horns have been broken off.
The gold contrasts his skin well, and, typical to his

(31:49):
barbarian nature, he approaches wearing no shirt.
God, there's going to be customers soon.
I can't think about that right now.
It's on fire. The books are wet.
This is the worst. Dude, it's fine.
Fucking chill, it's all right. Marco steps outside and he grabs
the box that's still smoldering and begins patting it out and
using his hands. Can't.
Be careful. Dude chill, how many times have
I fucking told you Fire? Is fine.

(32:10):
Yeah, right. Right, right, right, right,
right. I know people are coming.
Listen, just pull the crate. In and let's see what the fuck
this is. You're great, dude, You're good.
OK. He turns around and gives you a
toothy smile, his perfect black eyes looking at you.
OK OK OK. Are the books ruined?
Fuck, I feel sick. Looks like half of them.
That's fine. I mean, we weren't in it for the
money, right? If we were, we'd be closer.

(32:34):
I know you feel like we should have been closer, but this one
had a dock. This one had a dock.
I pointed the dock. It had a dock, All right.
We needed the dock. All right, looking over at the
dock, you see some boxes and crates you left around for the
ship that normally docks here. Nothing's docked currently, but
normally you allow transport from the ship of Jeremiah the

(32:56):
Smoke Razor. Also.
Finn's father figure. Captain.
Captain, My captain. Not not father figure, Captain,
not father. It's somehow worse than father
figure. How is Captain worse?
No, it's worse because you treathim like not a father figure but
also your father figure. He's my captain.

(33:19):
It's a. Strict he's your cap
relationship. We're not that close.
We're only a dad when it's coming to Dad.
I mean Captain, I mean Dad. 'S on his ship in a long time,
so it's like we're not even that.
Captain Jeremiah the Smoke razorwas a human man.
Was. Oops, Captain Jeremiah.
The smoke razor. Was a human man is.

(33:42):
He's a human man. Okay, yes, quite, quite dead.
No, I'm. Currently buried.
Jeremiah really fucking. Let me start that man.
Let me just. Start that over. 4060.
Five. That's.
Not. That.
He's. Ancient.
Jeremiah the Smoke Razor is a human pirate who frequently gave

(34:05):
transport to the runt pack in the previous campaign and has
continued his duties as a somewhat nonviolent pirate.
A smuggler. A smuggler, A smuggler.
Don't be as much my captain's name.
Having spent some time in both the Underdark and the Overworld
under Jeremiah has pretty much dominion over the seas and has

(34:27):
quite a fleet that he's amassed that transports.
Goods. To and from He's been busy
transports goods to and from theUnderdark as part of his Armada
force. Right now, he's not docked.
He shouldn't be back for severalmore weeks.
In fact, currently he's planned to be docked.
Right outside. Of the mantled earth, he's not
here right now and has said Makois who begins patting out

(34:48):
violently and the box remaining you hear a loud from a dog
deeper inside. No, no, fuck.
Dogfish stay back. Get get get out of here.
Get out of. Here as a stark white large wolf
like beast darts into the room, electricity zapping at the back
of its body. The Blink dog Dogfish.
Can I try to tackle her away from the fire pit?

(35:10):
You do so you grab the dog and pull him.
Fire where I call her. Pull her away.
She. Arch and yips right in your face
and tries to zip out of your hands but the collar holds her
back. You feel electricity cackle
around you. Mocko Pats it out and finally
places the box down. You see smolder marks around his
chest and you see that woke him up.

(35:31):
Sorry, are you OK? He.
Looks around and gives you this big smile.
He goes, yeah dude, that was fucking awesome.
Looks like we lost about half the books.
For the day. But hey, this is fucking cool,
right? Look.
What it says on the top come. Here, come here.
All right, what does it say? I'll walk over.
You walk over, you see the top is labeled as a postage note.
It reads 2. Delphinia burns well from the

(35:54):
hydraconid. They got the last name wrong
because that's Jeremiah. 'S.
Last name, not my last. Name.
My last name is Jeremiah's last.Name I got about after my
father. Yeah.
I don't. I don't know what it's about.
I don't. I don't.
Mako punches you in the shoulderand grins.
Oh, where's my getting around, huh?
What does that even? What?

(36:14):
Who is this from? It's from the.
It reads us from the Hydraconid of Grackelstuke the Worm Smith
with urgency. Nothing else is written on it.
The box is bright red and a bit doused with water.
Shit. Dude, that looks important.
Oh that's so not good. Last time I saw her I swore I
would kill her. I don't you.

(36:37):
You met this lady before me, right?
Well, and then once again, afterI think Freya and I like went
back there and I was like, I swear I'll kill you the next
time I see you because you're anevil woman.
She's like a dragon, right? Yeah, she's like a dragon, and
she rules this city. And she had a baby that

(36:58):
Bloodhound loved, like, as a son.
They named it Fred. And then she killed her own
baby. And he was, really.
Fucked up so I swore I would kill her because she was bad.
Fuck, I thought I was done with.All this it's.
Just. I'm at the store now.
It's all right. That's all right.

(37:18):
Listen, any Maca points around, he points to the lack of the
ceiling and the current entrywaythat you guys are AT and then
points around at the dilapidated.
Walls. Yeah, this place is in no shape
to sell books anytime. Soon, right?
Yeah. I know.
I mean, we barely had. A shop front, yeah.
I mean, I was just hoping, you know, more books we have, maybe

(37:39):
people start here that we have books and then when we can't
open, people want to come here because it's like 5 miles from
the city. And if you don't have a horse,
that's a really long way. And most of the people who are
working with books aren't also. Yeah, I know.
That's why I wanted us to live in water, because like, the city
is better. I mean, there's better people.
There. I mean, there's so many nice
people there. Oh God.
You know, although like. Cool.
Yeah, It's like fun. We can get like kids running

(38:00):
through the store. That's nice.
No, it's not. They're sticky and loud.
Well, we got no one running through the store now, so my.
Ouch. It's all right, that's already
bunched you into the shoulder. Again, we're building this place
up. Right.
Yeah, we're building a word of mouth and we don't want just
anyone. We want only the best people,

(38:20):
right? And the best people will make
the trip, right? I think so, and honestly I've.
Actually been, I've been workingon something in the in the
Waterdeep area as well. You know, I've been telling you
I've been taking those blacksmithing classes.
Oh yeah. Yeah, well, cuz I want to pick
up some jobs there and. I don't know.
They've got. A lot of real estate around
there if you want to find some place there cuz like you know
there's not all good areas around there you.
Know buy another place it's. Like it's in really good school

(38:42):
district. I'm just like still in debt.
Really good on I reach these thebooks cost like 500 gold.
These are rare Dome and someone.Really needs to.
Come up with some sort of 800. Gold.
It's 500 in the hole. Punk drops your shoulders and

(39:02):
start shaking you. Hey, he.
Claps a hand over the hand that you sort of drew open with a
knife and sort of stifles the water.
Sorry about that. Hey.
Hey, this is fun. It's an adventure, right?
It's I'm sure. Yeah, yeah.
He knots down at the box and gives you a big smile.
OK, let me go put on a shirt. You open this.

(39:23):
OK, I'll open this. I want to try to start dragging
the box further away from all mybooks.
You drag it away. OK, and then I'll go ahead and
crack it open with my sword. OK, let bring it open.
We jump now once more. Last but not least, Freya.

(39:44):
Yeah, yeah. Freya, you're in the Underdark
right now at your home, a rare chance break from the hustle and
bustle of your quite important job as a bit of a dignitary
between both the Lauren drow andthe Aven drow.

(40:05):
Figure of power, baby. You are you are a figure of
power. You are practically a
politician. Guess who moved up in the world?
Stay at home, Dad. Troubling.
Salesman. Failing business.
I like to think while I'm travelling, I'm also trying to
sell your books. I'll.

(40:27):
Try to sell your books. It's an important member of
society. It's an important member, Freya.
You wake up to the smell of sizzling meats, sausages, one of
your favorites, and what smells like prep, spinach or some sort
of cooked greens. A fine meal for a late
afternoon, perhaps mid morning brunch.

(40:52):
D Android cooks it up fine and it's set to be a nice relaxing
day from you. Finally, a break from all the
fantastic work you've been doingbridging these two great
communities. Right now, you live.
I have a fulfilling job. I'm praying and I help people
and they like me for it. Right now you live with Valoren

(41:16):
Drow, the sort of nature dwelling drow of the Underdark,
in a beautiful verdant green cabin with wood walls, wood
floors and wood cabinets and bits of green shrubbery and
sprouts extend from the walls and ceiling, giving a nice sort
of humid and warm feel to the entire house.

(41:37):
Eventually the smell of cooking sort of increases in your nose
and all of a sudden it smells like burning because if you're a
screech from downstairs. Fry all, fry all, get at it.
They shut them on fireworks on that.
These little fog is trying to get it.

(42:00):
You can't keep. Doing this, I'm coming down.
You jump down and descending thestairs you enter sort of the
kitchen area. You see a fine feast is being
prepared. Surrounding you are both Dan
Trag and Bao K Bautha, another member of your Lauren Drug.

(42:20):
Right. You didn't expect her over this
morning. You didn't expect her over this
morning. Seems Dan Trag sort of invited
her in for a bit of a brunch. She's dressed fine and you sort
of look down at your PJS and youfeel a bit underdressed, but
that seems rather unimportant compared to the smoldering fire
right outside the door. The big double doors are both

(42:41):
opened and you see a burning boxoutside threatening to catch the
very house made entirely out of wood on fire.
Dan tried wearing a tight apron that says Kiss.
The Cook looks over at you. He's got a wild look in his eye
and you see sort of perched right on the back of his
shoulder is one of those baby harnesses with.
A small drought. Face sticking out A big round

(43:04):
face that sort of looks out at you with a drooling expression.
Got a? Half a fulfilling life.
We're here to take that away from you, too, yeah.
It's all gonna. Run.
It's too good for too long. My God, it's like every

(43:24):
superhero ever with the. Family so Freya, as you descend
the stairs and meet this, could you please give us a.
Description. Pray is not 29 years old.
Oh. My.
God 29 old. As up there with Jerry.
You're like 27 also. Carter.

(43:47):
Like 35? Were you 28 in the campaign?
So Karma, I had a hard time withthis character.
He, I had him like being born asessentially like a 20 year old.
So yeah, he's around that age, but also they're technically
like 15 years. Whatever you're 31 or 11.

(44:12):
Whichever you want. Sorry, interrupt.
Prey as old as dust, but carversare the fucking grape.
It's. Not old.
Jeremiah's old. He's only 68.
That's. Literally not that old.
I don't know if he's gone back from his week long journey.
Are you sure he took his CPAP machine?
Do you want? To see how.

(44:32):
How evil I. Thought about my CPAP.
I just really wanted. To say OK, so besides H.
Besides Old Desert. She's a she's a a drow.
Looks like, you know your typical drow.
I believe she has purple eyes. Purple eyes.

(44:55):
Often wears her silver white hair and these two cute little
braids with some, like, little twigs in them just for the vibes
really. And I think there was a flower
growing out of her hair. Yeah, that.
Was your one mutation that was flower growing out of the back
of your? It wasn't bad, yeah.
It was good. That's a good one.
Yeah, I think it had like some elements in there too.

(45:18):
And there's a physical traits, I'd say it I friend of the rest
of the game has a pretty normal childhood.
You know what? The school went to college.
Are we? Supposed to cover schooling
history. Well, very notably, I think none
of the rest of our PCs went to school.
Finn lifelong wanted to go to school but Finn self studied.

(45:41):
Karma didn't get the be a child born 20 from from the childhood.
OK, so. Were you actually like,
physically born 20? Yeah, and then my parents died
within the year. It was a curse.
You're 2 loving moms. They love the children.
Original lore is that karma was born as a curse to hurt others

(46:03):
around him. One year old which?
Was great for the party. All right, so Frank are you?
Thank you for this description. You descend the stairs, now
entering the scene. Bow looks at you and gives you a
pleasant smile. She's improved a lot over the
last three years. The last you saw her, she was a

(46:25):
bit, a bit almost addicted to this bones found on the ground
that cause memory loss. She locked herself in a room of
bones that cause memory loss andlost her memories for several,
several weeks. She's recovered since then.
It's actually dedicated her lifeto archaeology.

(46:46):
OK, not recovering. Still very.
Sick, she spends her time digging up around the Lorender
and Aventura areas, finding old colonies and settlements, and
characterizing and sort of finding the histories of the
drought folk in the recent area.Charting the back, she gives you
a smile. Freya, something seems to be

(47:07):
wrong down here. You should take a look at
Dantrag. Dandrag turns, gives you a wild
look. Dandrag also a drow, a male
drow, a bit shorter than your average drow, a bit shorter than
Freya, and has a scrubbed bald head.
You remember he's kept this recently.

(47:27):
He very adamantly and valiantly tried to grow a little mustache.
It didn't work well. Freya, you encouraged him well
enough, but he realized it looked hideous.
He looked fucking hideous. And he shaved it off and since
then has had this sort of buzzedhead look.
But he gives you a wild smile, holding what looks like a pair
of tongs in one hand and a largespatula in the other for cooking

(47:50):
breakfast, and he gestures wildly to the box on fire in the
front room. Freya, something's wrong.
Somebody's trying to. Bomb our fucking.
House Little Ricky can't take it.
He's scared. Dantrek puts a hand over and
sort of pets the head of the small baby resting on the
shoulder. Right, y'all do something?
Do I see what's on fire? You look over, you see that red

(48:11):
box litter flame. Dantrek, I think it's a magical
fire. I think you can.
You can stop hitting it. Freda, don't you know I'm not
the water guy anymore? You can, it's been 3.
Years. Yes, you bring it up every
single day. I don't.
I don't understand. You took it away from me.
It's gone now. You've got the help, Freyo.

(48:36):
You just just do it. The flames lick up.
I'll walk over to it and you sort of push, like lightly push
him away. You see, he sort of gestures at
it and looks a bit frightened. Freyo, he's gonna burn down the
house. No.
It's OK, Just just calm down. You take a.
Look at it. Step back.
He steps back and sort of pouts, lowering his head, and the baby
sort of lulls its head forward with him.

(48:58):
Does the baby have a helmet? Would you make a helmet baby?
Helmet, baby. He's going to be like he's.
Going to be a biter. You know, she's too scary for
Ricky. He's going to be scared, OK?
Then take him back inside. I'll I'll deal with it.
He's going. To treasure back in.
Thank you. For your.

(49:22):
You approach the box, you see itlit a flame.
What would you like to do? Can I inspect it?
You give it a look, it looks like a package you see riding
atop it A to and from. Sort of.
Hard to tell from your angle though, you'd have to get closer
to see it get. Closer.
You get a little closer, glancing through the flames, you
see it's to Freya herself, and from the Hydraconid, the worm

(49:46):
Smith of Grackle Stoop. What about this bitch?
The box is lit, Frey. Do you want me to catch the
water spill on it? I could, but I just don't want
you to tell anyone. Why?
But it's just like, you know? I don't want to get anyone's
hopes up that I'm going to be the water guy again.

(50:07):
Sure, do it if it makes you feelbetter.
Thank you, Freya. He walks over, places the two
instruments in his hands, down on a counter, holds his hand
out, sort of rubs him back and forth, wiggles his fingers.
And then you see the baby sort of laugh about that.

(50:28):
This is why your baby is the reason why Finn thinks kids are
sticky. It's funny.
And what you just say with the wave of his hands, Dan Drag
summons a small wave of water that quickly douses the flames.
Feeling the street and waving down.
You see a few neighbors sort of poking their heads out now,

(50:49):
watching the flames dissipate and give you a look.
A few wave and you recognize allof them being a bit of a
politician. Freya I did it.
Freya it. Was very.
Good. Thank you.
You're going to open it. I think it's to you.
Maybe you want to go back inside?
I don't know what this is going to do I'll.
Get back in, you hear another shot from inside, from Val.

(51:12):
Freya, is there a problem out there?
Do you need some assistance? No, it's, it's, it's OK.
You you guys finished breakfast?I will.
I wouldn't want to start without.
You I was hoping to, you know, catch up it.
Has been a while. Yes, it quite has.
And I wanted to hang out a little Ricky as well.
Sticky Ricky. I don't think I'll call him

(51:34):
that. We only have one sticky
character. That's so true, but he.
So. You named.
Your brother. Right, he was compromising with
Dan Trag to find a name. So his name is Frenrick.
Frenrick, Frenrick. But.
Fan Trag really wanted a name that was similar to Stick.

(51:54):
No, like a nickname. Like a nickname?
This is huge lore, that is. All I didn't know Jack loves
stickleback like. He just liked the name.
It's a good. Day, He loved Marco like that.
Sticky, sticky inside of the building that you guys are in,
the anthrax sort of trots back in and goes, you know, me and

(52:15):
Ricky were just hanging out. I've been teaching Ricky how to,
you know, cook and clean and allthat.
You know, the Dan track duties. I think he's going to grow up to
be a right proper gentleman. I don't think he can hold the a
sponge yet. It's all about the mental, the
vision, you know, kiss him, grind.

(52:38):
That's what a doctor said. Are you the reason to be a
farmer? Oh, I think.
Tantric said he was going to raise him to be a male wife.
I didn't say that I just want him to be a.
Vinicius, man, he's my little. Fog he's.
Got to know how to fight, but also know how to sew and how to

(52:58):
do laundry and like, you know, keep a house.
Yeah, yeah. You know, we can teach him when
he's a little bit older. I hear you got to start.
I'm young. I open.
I start opening the box. Alright, listen, I'm a great
teacher. I always thinking for you.
Now that we're all talking aboutit, maybe we should do

(53:19):
homeschooling for my little dog.Ohh no.
I could teach. Him, Ollie Need.
You know, but I really like the professors at the, at the at
the. You know, I mean, they're good.
They don't really know Ricky Lacardi.
Teachers, they're just so good. Didn't like.
Why would we not? Take advantage of.
That and like, what about what? What do you want to do besides,

(53:41):
you know, staying? So is a full time job.
Like hobbies? Do you want to start farming
again? Well, I mean, yeah.
I got a little. Garden in the back.
Sorry, just. Get you like a like a right and
proper farm. Yeah, I would.
You know, that could be nice, yeah.
I. Mean but you know how like you
remember that Finn keeps callinglike every week being like hey,
when Ricky's of age, I want to train him, teach him a thing or

(54:04):
two, give him some books, teach him to learn.
I don't think we should raise a kid like.
Finn. I think I agree.
Yeah, I do feel like that Finn is an intellect.
That is good point Finn. But I do want him to still have
a father. Point against.

(54:25):
Finn, I'm there. I.
Will be there. Yeah.
Exactly, so not exactly like Finn, but just, you know, some
the good traits. Yeah, Finn's got.
Sort of a thing with the with the dad.
Yeah, yeah. Anyway, you open that box.
How many dinners were weird? Yeah, I'm little.
Well, I shall, right? Because.

(54:45):
I was hanging out with my boy Marco.
You know I've been missing that. That man a bad boy.
No, you go and see him. Or just a couple of times, like
a day. You can't take Ricky with you,
You. Can't take.
Ricky with me, it's just every time, you know, you guys made
that fancy door system where thedoors connect through
interdimensional travel. And it's just you're locking it

(55:07):
after. It's been three years and you
know me and Marco still play rocks.
Wait, why can't he bring Ricky? Ricky might get hit by a.
Rock You, of course. Record the game rocks.
Will be standing on two sides. Of a river and throw rocks at
each other are. You really only doing rocks,
not. Throwing.

(55:27):
Rocks fucking promise you Freddy's rocks all day.
Fucking Michael Bad. He fucking loves rocks.
Just makes him stronger. You don't want to do anything
besides playing rocks. Oh yeah, I don't know what you
want from. No, it's just sometimes you
fascinate me. Devastating.

(55:47):
Oh, guess why you're marrying me, right, friend?
All. Right, I'll leave you to the
books. I'll leave you to and he.
Steps. Inside and you are left alone
outside with this smoldering box.
You hear a quiet conversation inside and Bow laughs loudly.

(56:08):
On opening the box, I return to the group as all of you open it.
Here's what you all find inside.First on top, a note written on
black parchment inked in white ink.
The parchment is short, about a page long, and bears a few
expensive formal looking symbolsand sigils.

(56:28):
On the bottom stamps. Under this you find a large
wrapping. Something almost gelatinous sort
of jiggles underneath wrappings and wrappings of bandages and
packaging. All of you, of course, pick up
the note first. Probably.
Read it. It's lists at the top to each of

(56:53):
you by name, written out in whatlooks like the common script.
You see things like to Echo, to Karma, to Freya and to Finn.
It is I, the worm Smith of Grackelstoog.
Important news brings me to contacting you today.
With pleasure I announce Grackelstoog is at its finest

(57:15):
point in history. But with a sad heart, I inform
you that a close personal friendof all of us has unfortunately
gone a bit missing. I send you with this now, with
the uttermost urgency and importance.
I gaze upon the contents of thisnot as a warning to you, but as
evidence of my warning. Why the fuck do I care that?

(57:43):
Was good. Thank you.
I was prefident. This.
Was is that what you were? Doing this mutual.
Friend of ours was in my custodyfor the last month or so.
What has disappeared without a trace?
I implore you, arrive at a Grackle, stood immediately with

(58:04):
the utmost haste and come to my citadel.
You will find me in my chambers, and I will inform you more when
you arrive. Until then, your humble servant,
the worm Smith timber Chard of the great city of Grackle stood
you find beneath the three seals, one of them the the seal

(58:26):
of Grackelstuke, great smoke clouds pouring out of factory
buildings. Another what looks like a red
dragon curled over on itself, almost an Uroboros fashion.
The last one a bit unusual for this sort of document is the
spider Crest of Menzo Berenson, the Drought City.

(58:47):
As you will read the note and sort of place it aside, you find
underneath it are, for each of you guys, about 3 equally sized
cuts of large, long, bright purple wriggling tentacles.
They wiggle around like gelatin, still alive, moving.

(59:10):
They're bloodless though, with no liquids pouring out the
bandages, merely wrapping them in place, keeping them safe.
This is what you see. Icky sticky.
Is it stick away do these? Look like part of my brother.
I. Thought he.
Knew it was Stickleback. Who else when I turned into
stickleback did? I get.

(59:30):
This these look remarkably identical to the large tentacles
that exhume from Stickleback, the half drow, half brother of
Finn Jacobsen. They're wriggling and filled
with magic and some other strange arcane thing and they

(59:52):
bear with it. Proof.
Somethings Amish. Oh my God, need any proof?
I would have believed it either way.
I need to see this. These three sections of
tentacles that each of you guys get seem to be a part of a
larger whole. In fact, if all of you were to
meet up, you'd find that they all combine to form three whole
tentacles long and twirling stickleback.

(01:00:15):
As you all recall, the half brother, half drow of Finn had
an illicit mind parasite placed inside of his head.
Now this is a moment I'd like tobring up for our listeners.
I'm sure you've all played the game Baldur's Gate 3.
Yeah, it's just. Gonna be weird because if you
were to find the hidden tapes, the lost live tapes of the
runtback goes down under under dark.
We did it first. We did it.

(01:00:35):
First, you might find that we actually did it first, that in
fact we did have a major character that had a.
Weird little like writer sites. In their head as a major
character like the dates. It's just weird.
That that happened in Baldur's Gate, you know?
Hit me up, Larry Studios. My lawyers are coming for your
whole Mason ghostwriter. Please come find me, I'll write
your next campaign. Clearly I already did this one.

(01:00:57):
Anyway, back to the plot. You.
Need. Money.
Just the credit. Come on.
Back-to-back to Stickleback. You all find this evidence now.
I'll sort of take us back for a bit here.
It would not take long for Finn Jakobson to likely cast sending.
It would. Not take long at all.
Get in contact with all of you to basically get this story all

(01:01:21):
figured. Out.
Oh yeah, firing them off Freya. Freya.
OK Freya Freya Freya Freya Stickleback is in trouble.
Fuck all my books burnt up and Ihave to bear them and my brother
is in Seoul and message. You just copy paste.
Echo trouble. Fuck I keep running out of

(01:01:42):
space. These messages stickleback hurt
calamari warm Smith got him. Sorry about Fred again.
I said I am message karma. Gotta keep this.
Simple. I like how you don't.

(01:02:03):
Continue with any one of them. You don't fall.
There's no follow up. There's no follow up.
Stickies hurt Disappeared. Worm Smith had him.
Jeremiah wants me to meet him. I need so much gold to get this
end message. Weird.

(01:02:26):
Felt your messages to everyone else were more personal.
See you there. Sun's odd and I've been thinking
about tentacles lately. And message.
That was really good. OK.

(01:02:48):
So you guys, you guys will all respond.
Responses at once. Yeah, I.
Guess you guys, you guys all respond eventually you figure
out what the situation is and but by some means or another,
likely through the great door system that you all set up in
the last campaign, these magic doors that you can connect to
one another. Would you set up quite a few in
the Underdark? You all go there one way or

(01:03:09):
another, accepting the call. To adventure this, of course,
Echo says fuck that. Well, it seems like you really
got to deny the first call and then it is the second call.
Yeah. I would start banging on you
guys''s doors and crying if you didn't meet me very quickly.
And so as sort of expediting this next piece, by some means

(01:03:31):
or another, you guys all arrivedto the Underdark.
You never were able to set up a door in the city of Grackelstuk,
so you have no way to immediately access it.
Instead, you'll likely have to access it by port.
It being a port city on the great dark ocean of the
Underdark, you all can travel via boat, and what better way to
do so than the great ship of Jeremiah Burns.

(01:03:54):
You all head down to the Underdark, some of you a bit
quicker than others, having already started in the in the
Underdark, and eventually by 1 means or another, I'll make your
way on to Jeremiah's ship heading to Grackelstuke.
Now Karma. As you open this and you read
it, Dunzod gives you a a wide eyed look and his tusks sort of
curl down and a fearful look. Is.

(01:04:16):
Is this something that I want tohelp?
Can I? Can I come with you?
I, I mean, I think you can. Of course you can.
I'm not going to tell you you can't.
I, I just, I, I feel like we've done so much good over the last
few years and I don't know if I just want to drag you back into
trouble and. Oh, no karma.

(01:04:37):
Listen, Finn has been blowing upyour spot.
And to be honest, I've got so many friends in the daycare at
it, and all the teachers in the elementary school.
I mean, nails will be taken careof.
We'll be fine in that end. But listen, I want it to be up
to you, all right? If you think I'm going to be a
burden, I don't want to hurt. I don't want to hurt you.
If you want me to stay here, I can.
But I'd love to come. I yeah, I do want you to come.

(01:05:04):
Just I don't know. I hope you can.
We can keep. I.
Don't want to go back to old habits I guess.
So maybe you can kind of like watch out perhaps.
His hands on your shoulder, sortof shocking you for a bit.
Never. I'll keep you honest.
All right? I'll keep an eye.
Yeah. And I I'm sure it'll be just
like old times. In the best ways.

(01:05:25):
Gives you a big smile. Three times no sticky.
And all right, so the two of youwill go together.
Echo, you want to bring your bug?
Oh yeah. Fuck yeah, Freya, you have.
Freya on. Nishin, Nishin, you want to
bring the band back together. I guess so, but we can.

(01:05:46):
We are not bringing Ricky. Yeah, holy shit.
Oh hey, Bow, you think maybe youcould take care?
Well. You know, I'd always wanted to
look after little Ricky I. Do think that?
He probably needs a really apartment parental figure in his
life. What the shade?

(01:06:07):
I mean, you know, somebody teachthem the proper things in life
instead of the dirt in the mulch.
I. Mean you're not wrong.
Oh, Freya, you're so. Kind to me and don't don't worry
your. Duties will be looked after.
You'll be fine if you take a bitof a sabbatical from your
incredibly important political duties.

(01:06:27):
Just so important. So important and beloved by
everyone. Let me look after friend.
Including friends. People who fucking hate him.
Let me look at the friend Rick and I can.
House sit for you, you'll be quite all right.
Thank you. Yeah, I will arrange stuff with
Raya. She can take my place instead.

(01:06:50):
Yes, that's right. In fact, if you'd like, I can go
get her right now and you can fill her in that.
'D be great. Thank you.
Quick few moments later and a identical version of Freya walks
in to the building. This Freya, however, doesn't
have her braids up in such a fine and beautiful fashion,
instead, a bit more frizzy, haira bit more wild, and Reya as

(01:07:15):
darker complexion with bright white scars running down her
neck from a few tussles she's gotten in.
She gives you a big smile and goes.
All right, Freya, is this something I can help you with?
Yes, I'm going to be gone, but Idon't know how long.
Hopefully it's not more than a week.
Maybe I'm just a few days. Hogs Wash.

(01:07:36):
You've always have a way to contact.
Us with that. Fancy portal of yours and those
doors. Yes, I guess, but I just, I
don't think I'll, I'll be here doing work, so I need you to do
the. Work for me she.
Gives you a smile which mirrors your own and says.
I. Could.
Perhaps. Not even tell anyone anything's
changed, eh? They might not even know.

(01:07:57):
She sort of punches out at you in a sibling way and catches
your shoulder and goes right thin.
Perhaps I'll stay in the house. As well, eh?
I actually wanted to house sit here.
It's quite a nice lavish space now, I think.
I could do it. Why is Bao the next villain?
Bao. So evil Bao.

(01:08:21):
There's a guest room too. You can stay in there.
Lovely. Yes, Thank you, Fred.
You're very nice to me and you know.
I've been meaning to get along with you.
Maria, I know we haven't spent alot of time together.
Yes, of course. We could spend some time
together and I'm sure we could get up somewhat to some
adventures of our. Own eh?
Yes, that would be nice. Right.

(01:08:42):
Is there anything I should know before I leave about this
little? What do you call them?
Dan, Frag your little. He's my little fog.
Please don't call them I. Understand it's.
Not going to be a thug. Yes, I'll teach him his letters.
And some manners. How does that sound?
Please. I mean, again, he's just a baby.
I don't think he's going to really grasp a little bit right

(01:09:02):
now. But you know, as he's getting
older, Yes, Yeah, I would appreciate that.
I'll take care of it for you andnot worry like I'm.
Gonna be gone for years. You pull away.
You should. Get your will in order.
You know you're not coming back.Go ahead and make that college
fun. The Airtight.
And Finn, you wanna bring along Mako in this little adventure?

(01:09:24):
Yes, of course. I think Finn's like running
through their house packing a bag and.
Throwing. Way too many books into it.
Don't do that. What if I do, though?
OK, OK, OK. I think the oven is on.
I was making tea. I think the stove's on Juice
the. Stove's on toast.
Everything smells like smoke still all the time to me,

(01:09:44):
actually. Yeah, OK.
Sorry, Sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.
It's all good. Yeah.
Hey, Jeremiah. Wants to see you.
That's fucking awesome. We saw him like a week ago but
he was fine. Yeah, yeah, it's always nice.
I don't understand how sticklebacks miss it.
And he didn't know. Oh God, I'm a terrible brother.

(01:10:07):
He smacks you on the shoulder, right?
Let's. Go, let's go, all.
Right. And I'm going to time skip to
you guys now all sort of making your way onto this vessel on
your way to Grackle Stew. So you guys keep in touch pretty
regularly due to this great doorempire that you keep.
You're able to pretty much checkin every once in a while, do
group group little Hangouts, hang out all the time.

(01:10:29):
But nevertheless, there's some catching up to do every.
Once in a while you need portal doors.
Meaning of the greatest minds. As it like stumbles under the
deck, they're still like buttoning up their leather vest
over their shirt and like doing the scarf around.
And as you guys all approach theship, having just, you know,

(01:10:50):
checked in with everyone, another saying hi, you hear a
great booming voice from atop the vessel.
So you're ready to get on my damn ship again.
All right, let's get up here. It's.
Been a while since you've all been Seafair and hasn't it?
It's been way too long. Do I need to work for you again?
Oh, no, Karma. You don't have to work for me
now. Come on, I don't even have any

(01:11:10):
jobs for you. I have a whole crew man in this
vessel. Finn.
You're looking well do. You have a cabin boy.
And that job is still empty. Good.
Just making sure. I know I can't have a cabin.
Boy, no you can't. You can't except.
Stickleback. Where is stickleback?
How did stickleback go missing? Did you know he was in gradual?
With the word come on, let's say.

(01:11:30):
Okay, yes Sir, we just found it out.
That's come on, come on, just. Come back was with him and I
thought they were looking after each other.
Is red here is red mist to go back.
Just slow it down. Let's go one at a time.
Yes, Sir. Right.
Yes. Step on.
All right, Karma, Go ahead. And you're looking.
Blurry as always, looking good. That's.
Fine, man, it's getting worse Yeah, the like the deal go bad
or. A deal, a deal go bad.

(01:11:52):
Or like you know, you're you're scavenging.
Oh no, things have been great onthe high seas.
Karma I've been making. A.
Bank of Plenty. Really.
Yes, money's been coming in smoothly.
And. Ransacking and me swashbuckling
has been leading to quite a finefortune.
I lead plan to leave to me Paige.
You really leveled up after we destroyed.
Your ship. Well, I don't have a cabin boy

(01:12:13):
anymore, but I have a page. I start looking around.
Who's the page? Where's this page?
Time all. Right.
Where's this? No, wait, where's?
Coming on, do you remember used to fight us a few times when I
land that. Yeah, killed me one time, I
remember. Wraps him on the back and gives
him a big grin. Jeremiah the pirate captain, the
human man in his late 60s. It's.

(01:12:36):
Not that old. That's not that old.
A weatherman with a Gray. And a bit of red showing through
his big hair and large beard. The classic visage of a pirate,
The great Fear Not red coat covering most of his body, and
the tricorn hat right atop his head, with a bit of smoke
pluming out from underneath. Sort of akin to the way Finn

(01:12:57):
does. He hoists on his hands what
looks like a bit of black powderthat's been smudged in, and his
two great hands are weathered with usage and rope pulling and
steering of this great vessel. A pirate captain in every word.
But you can tell the years have grown on him a bit.
He's got a bit of a wrinkle in his in his mouth and crow's feet

(01:13:19):
on his eyes. A smile curls over his face and
looks quite natural. You think the years have been
good to him. In fact, you notice it in a bit
of the lavishness. He's wearing gold rings and gold
necklaces. A bracelet.
Made of looked like raw stones, all my curled together.
Something pulled likely from a dark mine costing fortunes.

(01:13:43):
Imagine all that could go to thebookstore.
So who's this page of yours They.
Leave it all. See.
Page your priority. Just like he must be really
important to Jeremiah. Jeremiah leaving all his money
to some page I haven't even met.As I get on, I kind of want to

(01:14:03):
change into what I imagine is a young, well, no, also a very old
looking human pirate captain of course, with a hat.
Walk up to Jerry. You know, from captain to
captain, this is a very nice vessel you got there, you know.
Gives you a big smile and he racks his hand on the back of
your shoulder, dragging you intothe ship and goes oh, I've been

(01:14:26):
missing your Bloodhound, you know I haven't.
You haven't been keeping me honest enough.
She's a flying ship, isn't she? Yes she is.
She's beautiful. I remember raising the money to
buy her all together. Yeah, because we destroyed his
last ship. Jeremiah, You've really gone up
since then. I.
Think you're. Like.

(01:14:46):
Please welcome aboard. Bring your bring your bugs
there. Oh Freya, you're looking lavish
as always in that track. Thank you.
Thanks. How's the How's the boy?
Oh, he's doing right. You know we he has a helmet now,
so that's. You said his head to be shaking.
He's got to get smarter from thesame with that.
And try it's because you swing him a little too hard sometimes.

(01:15:10):
I'm just waiting for him to playrocks.
Think of it where's? Mark, you know, goes looking
around. All right, come on aboard.
Come on aboard. Hey, you'll be happy to see
someone on board over here. Freya.
You know, it took a bit of a coercion, but the crew really
fell in love with that. Patty and left with us.
That's like a preacher. I think they called it legal
Thunder, yeah. I.

(01:15:32):
Couldn't remember the other part.
Sort of a replacement for that. Much prettier, now that I think
about it. Blink Dog we had for a while
but. Whereas.
You look. Around you see this giant rock
shaped thing? We're all out of the hold.
A three legged, 3 arm, three eyed sort of beast made of
rocks. Some monstrosity about the size

(01:15:55):
of a over size dog, maybe a small pony.
It creaks over the boat. You see the whole boat almost
slightly rocks to the side as itmakes its way toward you guys
and you see a tongue sticks straight out of the top of it.
This Zorn creature looks over atyou Frey and goes.
Oh my God, you guys kept him? No.

(01:16:15):
Way, of course. The crew's really been a joint
feed in him. You know he'll eat freaking
anything. Yeah, no, it's kind of insane.
That's me. And Marco thought that that was
fascinating. Used tar barrels eats that a
mouldy old food eats. Like no recycling the.
Best trash can on the on the boat.
I used to be the trash can of this boat if they would eat
anything. Yeah.

(01:16:37):
Condom. Yeah, everyone.
I got replaced. By this guy you got replaced.
Feels like there's a lot of thatgoing around lately.
Are you okay? I'm fine.
Smoke pouring out of the ears. Just glass.
Okay, okay, okay. Raya, you get a moment to
reunite with Legal Thunder, yoursort of dog.

(01:16:58):
It still has a collar around itsneck that you made it.
A leather collar with red that labels it Legal Thunder.
Fucking good name. Yeah, that's really good.
Legal Thunder sort of licks out with its rocky tongue towards
you, and you sort of take it in as Dan Try curls around as Finn
is LED aboard, and you notice that Jeremiah places a sort of

(01:17:19):
delicate hand on your shoulder, guiding you in, and goes, oh,
Finn, I want to get your hair onA twist.
It's no big. Deal.
Why don't? You come take a look into the
new ship. We've got upgrades.
Who has this been reinforced? Who is this page?
Top layer completely explosion proof.
Now a mage did. It.
Yeah, I know. What mage did you hire?

(01:17:39):
Just a friend out of Lindenstone.
No better friends. Better mage.
Lot of things have been happening down here since you
left, I'm sure. Afraid I could tell you more,
but blind and stones been uh, well, it's in ruins.
Oh. Left of that old city after the
great earth elemental stood up. Oh yeah, and moved.
The great city fell with it. But a few.

(01:18:00):
Uh, great, many survived and, uh, moved on.
Mantled Arith is one of the few cities left that seem to have
survived the great onslaught. That's an old Brackle Stew,
which is our destination. Yes, I I come on the board and
you as well, Marco. Marco comes on and Dan Trike
runs over and sort of slams his chest into him and the two of

(01:18:20):
them sort of lock eyes and grin at each other and start like
screaming Dan. Trike, you were in my kitchen
last night. Fucking piece of feed me and
Marco having a moment. He told me you were getting
milk. It's not a big leash they.
Were wasted throwing rocks at each other.

(01:18:41):
Yeah. Oh, Dan Track, I've been missing
you so much, man. Listen, we've been.
We need to go through a rock somewhere, man.
We did it last night. We didn't need to do it more.
You maybe need to keep it down about the Rockstar.
Phrase. Not a big fan of it.
Does anyone know where rock coach is?
Do you think maybe she got more like tentacles?
I'm glad you brought that up. I'd like you all to make your

(01:19:01):
way over here and Jeremiah leadsyou to the hold of the ship and
opening a few doors leading you inside.
Eventually he goes. Please, I'd like you all to meet
me. Paige this year is old Rock
Roach, a friend of course, as you all know, a bit of a
travelling companion now and well, she was really interested
in exploring the world. I spawn the spoke method a

(01:19:22):
little. Beast, yeah.
Spawns out of your ears and flies up into the cavernous
ceiling above you see in your old room Finn now relabeled as
the pages room Rock Roach lays out on a bundle of nasty old
clothes. Rock Roach, a younger.

(01:19:43):
Older. Older.
Female drow with a prominent facial scar bears a sort of new
haircut, now a sort of half up, half down, undercut.
Everything I once had, she has now.
She's lounging and sort of turnsover to you guys and gives you a
smile and goes. Hey, hey, hey, how we?

(01:20:04):
Doing you guys, Lisa, before we get all upset about this, I
asked Jeremiah if he would take me in and you know it's been
going pretty good so. Crazy you as his own.
I get it, Yeah. Oh no, it's gonna be a fan.
It's not like that to. Jesus Christ.
I mean, you leave it all your world.
Listen, listen. I get it.
What I figured out is I want to be a captain.

(01:20:25):
Of a pirate. Ship.
Like you remember how when we were hanging out in Mantle Death
and I was drinking all day, I was like fuck man, I don't want
to. I don't know what to do with my
life. Then I was flying out following
Bloodhound for a while and that was pretty awesome, but then the
giant bug sort of scared me off.No offense, Bloodhound, I'm sure
you get it. He's really nice.
And, you know, we were having a fun time, but I just would my
feet were good noochie man. And I wanted to go check out the

(01:20:48):
world. And so I joined the ship sort of
on a you know, Jeremiah let me in sort of like a nepo thing,
but then it sort of working and I realized I want to be a
captain. And she gives a big smile and
that, you know, there's there's no bottles of alcohol lying
around. No sort of signs of debauchery
or lowliness that you might expect from the alley Living

(01:21:10):
Rock Roach. I fixed her.
Instead, her room is. Going to break her.
As might a like a college sort of freshman frat bro might have
clothes all over the floor, bitsof like food spilled everywhere,
moldy food in some areas, but noalcohol that you can spot my.
Bedroom. It's been completed to read on.

(01:21:30):
Posters thrown up on the wall ofcelebrities and mages and
magicians, the worthwhile circuses that I suppose she had
must have visited as well. Carvings done right into the
woodwork of the wall, carved into the oak of you're not quite
sure. It looks like little pictures of
rock Roach with big muscles fighting off villains.

(01:21:51):
Shooting lasers. My family portrait used to be.
On this shoulder. Well, at least this isn't your
old bedroom that's at the bottomof the.
Yeah, that's true. This is just the one where I
used to sleep in Funk Beds with my brother and now he's missing
and pieces of it were cut off and mailed to me.

(01:22:11):
I'm glad Rockroach has this now.I want you to throw the rice.
Someone. Also, hey Echo.
It's really good to see you how you doing.
Hey, Rocky, how's it? Going how you doing?
Rocker sort of worms out of the bed standing up and approaches
you and looks at your sort of captain leaf form that you still
have on and reaches for you and grabs your hand and pulls you in
for sort of a bro hug. Yeah.

(01:22:33):
Bro hug. She looks at you and goes nice
look, I like this. Is this the new?
You. Well, I guess while we're on
this ship, but I guess you're trying to look like this too,
huh? I miss.
Yeah, I'm trying, but I don't know.
Listen, I just figured out Cap being a pirate captain is what I
want to do. So, like, listen, it's it's
nothing to do with whatever the fuck Finn's worried about.

(01:22:54):
Jeremiah kept telling me every night.
Listen, don't bring this up to Finn because Finn's going to get
upset about it for a reason. Don't accept nation.
I didn't say that. I'm.
Glad you guys talk every night. I just said that.
I mean they work. I'm glad they're so close.
Cabin boy. This isn't a cabin boy position
fan. No, it's just a page who lives
in the room and also you. Finally, have a child who wants.
To be a captain, you need to. Use the room.

(01:23:16):
Yeah, of course you need to use the room because Stickleback's
not here, so gotta put someone there.
Jeremiah plants the hand on yourshoulder and sort of leaves it
there and goes. Listen, Finn, it's not like
that. Rock Roach just wants to be a
pirate captain and. You want to be a bookseller?
Someone who wanted to be a pirate captain.
It makes sense. That makes perfect sense.
We're starfish. We're starfish.

(01:23:37):
We can talk. About that in a moment.
All right, just got half brothers all over the place I
guess, but no one knows anymore not here, not here.
I just want to be on a new kid so.
Jeremiah is training me as an equal, well, as subordinate and
equal, you know, in, in this, inthis trade of being piracy.

(01:23:58):
You didn't want to be a pirate fan.
It's just that simple. You wanted to go be a
bookseller. You didn't get this.
Job. And that's what I'm I.
Just like thought we would keep it in the family like I thought
Tavish or Stickleback would. Like one of my brothers, you
know, would do be the replacement.
I didn't know it was going to belike my weird alcoholic cousin.
OK, I need. You to chill all right, it's all

(01:24:18):
right. It's just really any you know
this Rockridge is not let go of the bro hug that you guys are
answered. Just talking over yourself.
Just. Stand there awkwardly.
Standing there awkwardly looking.
Over. Finn has no qualms about arguing
over you. Trying to like, move under the
pirate hat out of the finger's face.

(01:24:39):
Listen, Tovish is still sailing.Yes, I'm out that Finn Tavish me
boy. We spent two years together and
he trained under me well and. Well, I suppose.
I don't know. He didn't want to just be seen
in me shadow, and so he took up his own vessel.
We're still close, we still see each other often, but he's got
his own well, his own smuggling vessel that he runs

(01:25:00):
independently. So then if he's already a
captain, why are you leaving your entire Armada and also all
of your gold to rock Roach who'sbeen a sailor for like a few
months? Not even it.
I'm just like. Things are going well.
You feel like. A big joke.
Have something else that you need to do?
Have very much for you. I.

(01:25:20):
Know you have your library. I don't need, I don't need your
charity. I just don't understand why
Rothroach is now the most important person in your life.
Oh yeah, Finn, also sorry, I just wanted.
Yeah, yeah, I think. It's a good time.
Yeah. I I haven't been able to sell a
single one of the books you've given me.
Everyone keeps saying they're too expensive and I keep telling

(01:25:40):
them like how important they areand how cool they look but they
don't. Look.
Cool. They're important because of
what's inside on the pages. Do you need bypass?
Funding. No, it's not.
Well, OK, they do look really cool because I make really good
additions and when I copy them my handwriting is exquisite.
Echo sold all the picture books. Will buy them.

(01:26:03):
It's my private. Stuff.
Wait, make sure you talk into your mic more.
I'm not a podcaster. If I may take a moment, you're
doing great there Rock Roach meet me.
Paige hold on and Jeremiah stepsout leading you guys all outside
of the room. Record gives a non sort of
slumps over outside of the hug back into the room and entering

(01:26:24):
back onto the main deck, joiningonce again with Freya and legal
Thunder on the deck and also mocko and D'antrec.
We seem to be in some sort of fistfight.
Yeah. A playful 1.
Jeremiah goes Listen, Pavish wassort of good at this thing.
He got out there and very quickly managed to smuggle

(01:26:44):
groups at an impressive volume and speed at which I was kind of
impressed. And for him?
And listen, I'm not trying to boost him up, but he doesn't
need me help. So he went off independently and
well, Rockroach sort of wants todo this whole piracy thing, but
I don't know if she'll get to itby herself.
So if there ever comes a day that I want to, you know, find

(01:27:05):
another line of work, I suppose I think the ship would be best
in her hands. Now if you would like it, you
get a priority fan of. Course I don't want it you.
Show no interest. Though I don't.
Want it, I don't. Want it?
I just like, don't I just her her.
You just said 2 seconds ago you're not sure if you make a
good captain. You're going to leave the
salivator skin there. It's been time, she seemed

(01:27:28):
sober. That's she's doing a lot better.
She's only been working here for, yes, about two months or
so. Well, has she done a good job?
I would say so I'd see, I'd say a lot of improvement.
You know Carla, you're. A good judge of character.
Too, And I feel like you've seenthat she's at least a little
better. I'd really like to talk to her,

(01:27:48):
it seems like she's really trying.
So I just, I imagine this, he said.
Like 1 fucked up thing back if back.
Then I want to reiterate that this isn't just like this is not
just a family business. This is also the home I grew up
in. This is my dad's car.
Always. You're always the cabin boy of
this vessel. Yeah, but I don't want the

(01:28:10):
vessel to belong. Just.
OK. Yes, Sir.
Claps a hand on you and leads you over back to the hole and
shows you a great gleaming bronze plaque right above the
main doors which reads Cabin boyof this vessel.
Nice. This helps a little.
You see every. Single person who passes on to
these doors knows who really is at the heart of the Cavern Boy

(01:28:34):
position and really the heart ofme ship.
She'll take it down when she's captain.
She won't. I just, you can't expect me to
just wait forever for you to come back.
I'm not coming back, that's all. With this, I just feel like you
could choose a better replacement is all I'm saying.
Well. I suppose I'm enjoying the
company. Well, she was excited.

(01:28:54):
And she's shown a lot of promise, and I imagine on this
upward trajectory, she might be a good captain one of these
days, maybe, perhaps flying under Tavish's fleet.
I accept that. But Finn, I feel like we have
some time together, it seems, with whatever the hell is up
with Warm Smith. I feel like maybe we can see how

(01:29:15):
Rock Roach is, yeah. OK.
We can do with that and I feel like we just kind of met her.
And maybe she like starts with adifferent ship like not.
This ship, of course, Fan. Listen, don't worry about this.
This is all up in the air. There's nothing in writing.
Right. Oh, I accept that.
You just came on really strong when you were like, I've got
this new page and I'm leaving her everything I.

(01:29:36):
Own I didn't say it like that you.
Said all my gold. You still haven't found a
therapist? Yeah, I oh God, no one cares
about books. Anymore.
You know no one. Ever.
Cared. About.
You know, you need to sell like different kinds of genres and

(01:29:56):
not just one of them. I think that would help.
Some books were really cool. I really liked Finn's Journal I.
Fuck you, karma, fuck you for that.
It's like you. You don't want to say anything
else. I mean, I started it.
The point was to try to broaden magical understanding to avoid
tragic accidents like what we fell.

(01:30:19):
Oh, go. And I sort of nod at him.
In the middle of head butting, Dan Traggy turns back and gives
you a smile. Hey, it's water under the
bridge, all right? I'm glad you're teaching people,
but I'm. Good.
Okay, thanks man. Hey Alfreo, can me and Marco go
play rocks? Yes you can.
Thank you, Freyo. Now we're not gonna listen.

(01:30:40):
That's unsophisticated. We're over that down track.
We're gonna go play something better.
We're gonna go play sticks. Marco, I have a question.
Yeah, how are you? We haven't.
Checked in in a while. I feel like I've been over at
your house a lot and I just wantto apologize.
That's where you're going. You come over quite a bit and
you don't say hi to. Me.
You. Like it's just like YouTube.

(01:31:01):
Like grab the dragon wave on theway out, but I I know I should
probably be better about. That you guys let Marco in the
house? Ricky sometimes and he helps out
with Ricky. Why don't you ask me to come
help out? I was the best man your wedding.
You guys don't ask me to hang out like one-on-one, ever

(01:31:22):
watching. With.
Me either every. Time I didn't wish I would, you
guys. I'm just busy with work, you
know? I'm trying to get work.
Then then Trick stays at home. He watches a kid, he gets a
little bored. He needs help watching Ricky and
Sophie. So, Mako.

(01:31:43):
Watches Dan Track who watches Ricky?
Well, see, that's what I wanted to do.
That's what I was going to ask right now because he doesn't
tell me. He walks in, he goes, he takes
Dan Trag and Ricky's always justin that little that little thing
that they carry behind him and the baby carrier we.
Do carry him in. Are you good with kids or are
you good with Dan Trag? Listen, I actually.
I believe you know what? Ask Mako.

(01:32:04):
Wait. Shit.
That's me. Ask for Ask Ben.
I've always thought I've been pretty good with kids.
I'm. I'm a kid person, you know?
He has been good with him, but IDo you ever do anything
dangerous or. Not for anything dangerous.
I'm a very safe protector. I think I'd be.
A very good dad. You know, I actually think you

(01:32:24):
might be. Safer than me for your.
You're good with red. Yeah, that's true.
You're bro. Thank you.
Not. Brother.
Not no, brother. He's in Waterdeep right now.
He's working for the same blacksmith.
So he's not with Stickleback either.
Who's taking care of Stickleback?
You guys know? He can't.
Find for Dulls. You know him, you know him just.

(01:32:45):
As well as I do. I know.
I don't think that he could takecare of himself.
Yeah. However, he's at the age where
he should be able to. Throw a mean rock.
And he plays rocks, really. Good, he does do the grease
spell quite well. He's really beneficial.
All over the place. He's really good at Greece.
I think I. Can to talk about that because I

(01:33:07):
know where Stickleback went. You see, he was in my service
for a while. As you know, Stickleback was a a
great pirate. Well.
In some ways his smuggling abilities were fine and he could
pull rope no problem really could pull rope with mostly what
he did. When you say that, Jeremiah, I
know you're older, but the the younger people hear something

(01:33:28):
different when you say pull rope.
I'm not going to change my ways because the young folks won't
explain it to me. Now they're continuing.
Well, it. Was about a month ago or so.
That's either way. Stickleback came to me out of
random and said oh captain I I must go.
He was like, not sure what was wrong with him, but he was
explained in this situation he was having where he said,

(01:33:51):
captain, I need to find my patron.
I don't know what that meant, but he said I, I felt a
connection to my warlock patron and I need to go find him.
And his tentacles had regrown out of his back.
If you recall, he had that strange mind flare parasite in
his head. And these tentacles were grown
on the backside. And they've.
Regrown and he had gained some new abilities, some spills that

(01:34:11):
I'd never seen him pass before. He could move great amounts of
earth and rock and and water andhe could carry large things with
his mind. It was quite impressive.
And these were things he said, that his patron were allowing
him. And he said he knew where his
patron was and he had to go findhim.
It was very confusing for an oldman such as myself.
You know I deal. In the physical and well, I

(01:34:32):
didn't want to harbor the poor boy and so I let him loose into
the city of Grackelstuk. I of course made some dealings
there and had well looked after, but it seems as though he has
disappeared. You let him go back to his hive
mind that we went to. Well, I don't think it was the
hive mind. His patron seems to be something
distinct from that. If you recall that hive mind

(01:34:54):
that we went and visited, well, we sort of tore it down.
It was an island in the middle of the ocean that was.
One of many. I kicked the shit out of that
elder brain if you guys remember.
It's true and. I suppose you.
Might be right karma, but the truth be told he's an older lad
now and you can't expect me to look after him every second of
the day. What toad you are?
No, I mean like I want to take care of.

(01:35:15):
Yourself. He's what he's like 23 now.
When I was 23, I was not lookingafter myself, if you'll
remember. And well to.
To be frank, he was excited about this in the same way that
you know, it's nice to see you rockroach excited about the
captaining and nice to see you about your books.
He had drive and you know, sticker back was not a very
craving person, not a very motivated person, but this it

(01:35:38):
came upon him in in the very evehe said he had some dream and he
had to go follow it off he went I got.
Stomatized and was suddenly intoit.
That's what I think. I couldn't stop him.
I I wanted to support him, so I let him loose.
I gave him all the fixings and foods and gold he'll need to
survive a many, many month, if not a year trip.
And. And anyway, I suppose let's go

(01:35:59):
to grackle through this moment to see what's up.
How much gold was that? Well, you seem very interested
in gold is. No, all of a sudden.
Me, give him some gold. Or some money to like the page.
What'd you say? Sorry, what?
Like doesn't she handle the finances?
I could go ask. I feel like that wouldn't make
any sense for her, right? I don't know.

(01:36:21):
So how much was it again? Did he say captain?
Son, Son, is there something youneed to tell me?
Oh. Shops going great, shops going
great. Mattress is so dry right now.
My roof works really well. And all that money get earned
adventure, and it's still holding up.

(01:36:41):
Stare at him. Yeah, yeah.
I don't do much adventuring anymore.
It's real estate far from all outside of water, heaping up my
marsh. That's something you would think
it would be, but yeah, it's going good.
Malcol's doing some blacksmithing on the sides.
Yeah, yes, Aaron, I've been a I've had the moonlight.
Because we can't pay for food. No, Except no, we can make food.

(01:37:04):
It's a hobby that he has. He blacksmiths, yes, he's
foraging things. So.
Son, you mean to tell me that Karma with his adventure in
money was able to settle down ina nice underdark home and Freya
with her adventure in money gained this great political?
Piece of. The pie of the Aventrau and
Laurentrau territory and well, it even seems echo as a bit of

(01:37:27):
a. Do you do again?
So Finn's Wickster. Yeah, that's actually exactly
not what I've meant. Is that the only thing you?
Is that the only thing you sell that also services?
What? Toy Box.
Only selling. Is it?
Does it relate to the books? I've heard some sirentimes you
say that too. You know, sometimes I become a

(01:37:48):
librarian. Like sad.
Oh, could you do it right now? Whoa, whoa.
I don't know. You guys do that alone?
No, they have to sign some stuff.
There's nothing sexy about it. OK, I think we're losing the
point. My bookstore is going great.

(01:38:09):
Thank you, Dad. Captain.
Captain. Please let me help.
Please let me help. I have left curse.
I have less curses than I used to.
Now hold on there, Carlos. Let's slow it down a little bit.
Sean. Yes, Sir.
Feel free to call him whatever you like.
You know that's all right. And I know you'll make it on
your own. This whole business thing was a

(01:38:31):
it was a risk and you gambled on, so you're in it.
Yep. Have in it.
Right. So you don't need any help right
now, do you? Never.
Right. So I'll take you.
Brackle, Stew and feel. Free to enjoy in the fineries of
my ship, my cook cooks the only the finest men's or barons on
foods. As I was telling you that things

(01:38:52):
have changed a bit in the Underdark.
A lot of cities have, sort of. Collapsed.
Blingdon Stone, well unfortunately was one of the
biggest hits as well. Gauntle Grimm, the Great Dwarf
and Citadel or Into a Crisp beencompletely shattered to ruin.
Even Menzo Baron's on that Fraser Drought city was torn
asunder by what I heard was a bit of a dragon rampage.

(01:39:15):
Yeah. You could call it that.
Yes, well, because of this greatcindering of the entirety of the
Underdark, many civilizations have come together in ways well
you wouldn't quite expect. For example, Menzo Baron John
has done a lot of outreach. They've well combined forces
with a few of the local neighboring places.
Metal dareth for one, brackle soup for another.

(01:39:37):
And while on this very ship I employ quite a few drow that
used to call Mens O barons on their home, I beseech you not to
consider them enemies or villains of any sort.
These are people who were workers, common men just like
me, blacksmiths, scribes, lawmen, the average folk who
were on down times and. Needed to pick me up.

(01:39:59):
Looks horrified. That's being said, one of the
folks I was able to pick you up was this fine.
Menzel barons on Cook, the finest in the land, in fact,
served in a Royal Court, the court of the Mazelor family.
This year. Yeah.
Serves the I'm sure you've heardof them.
There's I believe one of the higher houses in Menzel Barons
on. I want to know his name.

(01:40:20):
I don't probably don't know. A chef's name.
Yeah. What's his name?
Why did the Maslow family give you their chef?
Did did he ask about me? Well, it's a she.
No, I wasn't talking about the chef.
The chef's name is Afan. Afan didn't take the last name

(01:40:43):
Maslow, but he mainly worked forthe estate.
Anyway, she cooks a incredible meal.
In fact, five stars every night to her ingredients list is It's
superfluous, to say the least. You might charge more than
anyone else on this ship, but luckily we can afford it.
Great. You hear a shout from over her
soul, from over his shoulder, from the inner parts of the hold

(01:41:05):
of Rock Rd. saying yes, Captain can't afford it right now, that.
Is there any other inquiries y'all have?
It's good to see y'all. It's good to see you too.
Are you staying healthy? I miss this all together.
I've been staying fine. In fact, I can tell you're all
doing much better. I mean, clearly company has
suited many of you quite well. In fact, I can tell there's a

(01:41:28):
bit of. Well, lack.
Of urgency that I noticed among you all.
You. Don't have that sort of high
strongness. Safe for a few of you will look
a bit sleep. Deprived.
I've been very relaxed lately. I want this so bad.
I need to like this mission is going to be great.
I I can't wait to get Stipple back back with you guys.

(01:41:52):
I do miss adventures. Very good goal free.
I see the adventures are fun. Dantrek speaks up.
Yeah, we may see adventures. You know, looking after me.
Little Thug is an adventure in its own, but I like the ones
where I get to get a bit bloody. We can't take Ricky on those.
I know, I know. And you feel a hand on the back
of your shoulder. Karma of Dunsod going.
You know, it's been something ofa loss that we haven't gotten a

(01:42:14):
chance to flex a little bit on. You know, any sort of rules out
his muscles and goes, yeah, I spent a lot of time as a
mercenary. I suppose I could go back to
showing off a little bit. Yeah, if if you like that job,
want to go back. No, never.
But. It's a nice break.

(01:42:36):
Well, yeah, probably from like teaching kids at your school.
Listen, you can have whatever reason you want.
It seems we just need to save old sticker back a third time we
saved this land. He's a good guy, it's not his
fault, okay? And he's your nephew.
Oh, you should care about him. I don't know if I know anyone

(01:42:57):
more interesting than I'll Stickleback.
Yeah, I remember we almost killed them when we met him the
1st. Time I called mom and I said I'm
going to kill your new son. I hate this guy.
That's true. And listen, his family, I want
to look after him. Your whole family I would look
after each and everyone of you have a same.
But that's why he needs a bit more caring for than the average
fella. Regardless, off we go.

(01:43:17):
I'll set sail and please feel free to enjoy the hold.
I might even have a private roomfor each of you.
You might have to bunk. Oh.
Mako nudges Dance Rag, but then looks back and goes.
OK, Finn, you want to bug together?
You go and trek. No, no, come.
On. You're gonna sleep with my
husband? Trek looks over and goes.

(01:43:39):
Nishan Freya, he wants to do it.I guess I've got no choice.
I would rather sleep with you. If.
We could then trek. We are married.
We are going to. Sleep in the same bed.
I don't have a roommate. I get it.
Rock. No, you just say room.
What? I.
I also need a roommate. We can be together.

(01:43:59):
Roommate. Don't sound.
Looks like you hurt. Wait.
Wait, wait, fuck, fuck. This isn't the old days.
Karma, you've settled down now. No, you're right.
You're right. I'm I'm back.
I'm, I'm here. I'm right here now.
So you make your head over to Rock Rich's room.

(01:44:21):
I'm going with Freya. What with Freya?
Yeah. Girls Night.
Girls. Night, let him have his boys
Night. I guess like we do need a night
together. I need to complain.
Oh, great. Good.
How are you about this job? Oh, thank you, Freya.

(01:44:42):
You're going to compliment. Me thank you of.
Course. Thank you very.
Much. All right, Mark, let's go find
a. Room.
Not that I want to Freya. Don't have too much fun because
it kind of hurts. Yeah.
You find rockers lay down in theroom, goes Echo again.
OK, yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on in.

(01:45:03):
You're not going. To you know, it's.
Just if you want. That's fine.
Yeah, yeah. So how are you doing?
I see you. Small dog, really.

(01:45:23):
You know how like the bottle's done boring.
It's been on this ship. You know how lonely it's been.
It's. Been lonely?
Just get to it all right. You're giving him sex right
away. Oh God, he's giving his twist so
easily. Oh.

(01:45:45):
My God. So I'm glad you.
Have him in. You haven't been drinking that.
Much lately. He.
Sits up abruptly out of the bed, makes her way out of it, sort of
walks over to you and points a finger at you and goes.
Listen, echo, you're. Going to learn a thing about me.
I've stopped drinking. Yeah, that's right.
Jeremiah helped me do it. Took a fucking long.
Time he had to tie me to the to the main mast for days I was

(01:46:08):
screaming. Replacement captain.
And so. It was hard, but I'm changed now
and that means got a lot of a shorter temper now.
Oh. Captain Material.
That's all you got to say to me.Did you get the bed?

(01:46:30):
I'm sleeping on the floor in that pile of clothes right
there. She points to a big mass of cod.
You think it might be moldy clothes on the ground?
It looks like perhaps stolen. And she fills in the blanks
where she goes. Yeah, I picked that up from some
cruise we rated. None of misfits me, but it might
fit you. In fact, it probably will always
fit you. So why don't you take off that
sleazy fucking old man fit? Show me something pretty.

(01:46:53):
Get in the bed. She puts her hands on her side
and. Looks crazy.
I'll change my clothes to look like the ones on the ground.
How's how's? You see or look at you for a

(01:47:16):
moment, mouth sort of curled up in a pout, and then after a
second or two of awkwardness, it's finally curls up into a
smile and she gives you a big smile.
And then she sort of runs up andgives you another bro hug,
slapping your arm and bringing you in.
Goes dude, I fucking miss you somuch.
God, I fucking had you there fora second, didn't I?
Jesus. Christ.

(01:47:37):
Man, it's been a long time, huh?You better fucking Remember Me,
don't you? That's all right.
That's all right. Hey, listen.
And she slaps you on the side ofthe arm.
Stick around, all right, I'll beon the ground.
And she gets up and she makes her way out of the room.
You notice she begins making herway to a large pile of rope.
Are. You sure you?
Want to get in the ground? Duty calls.
All right, duty calls. Listen, just hang out.

(01:47:59):
You're you're sort of like a guest on the ship.
Yeah, I can have. You sling some rope.
No, no, This is private work. Captain says it makes me better.
Stronger. Better, Captain.
Oh. Yeah.
Better Captain Material. Yeah, You know, she's like
running a gang. You should talk.
To about it, yeah, there's this like Lauren drought gang that

(01:48:21):
she runs. Like a good gang?
Do you like the Gang I? Think they brought people?
Oh. I look down at the clothes.
I guess we're all people too you.
Know, don't worry about. It she gives you a wink, walks
off. Just look down on the clothes.
See Rockers come out. Dan Trek approaches you fan.

(01:48:43):
OK, Yeah. I listen, Orphine, I just have a
second. Oh, listen, so I know how Marco
was really excited to better, you know, do a little boys
night. So I just want to warn you not I
just want to put. Your nerves at ease because he
was saying you're really. Harsh.
Strong. OK, I'm glad he told you that.
That nothing's nothing bad. It's happening, and you're going

(01:49:05):
to be right. OK?
We're actually going to put you in the room right next to ours.
OK, so that you and Freya. Will know that we're not Osing
around too much. I.
Don't. I Don't.
This morning I received a package with pieces of my
brother. It's only two.
Give the tea. Fuck.
Yeah. I know you've got more pieces.
I know there's a lot of stickleback to go around

(01:49:27):
apparently. Go.
But I'm really not that worried about you and Marco Orson around
or having sex or whatever phraseparanoid you guys are doing.
I'm not. I just want to get stick on my
back and make sure Jeremiah doesn't love someone else more
than he loves me. All I care about.
This nasty? What would you think that of us?

(01:49:49):
That's gross. No, I don't think it of you.
It's just the implication. When Friday.
Ask you all those questions you're being.
Paranoid about Jeremiah? OK, I'll do that.
Thanks Dantrec boy. OK, slaps you on the shoulder.
Yeah, good night, Water. Guys leaving the room beside
you, Rock Roach walks over and goes.
Hey, Finn. Yeah, Hey, Rock Roach.
Hey, no hard feelings, right? She gives you a sort of hesitant

(01:50:11):
smile. You and I weren't ever that
close. We don't need to act close now.
And we're cousins. It's cool, it's cool.
Goes Stony and goes sure and walks off.
Cool that. Guy.
Sold to me in prize room. So the Freya, you approach Freya

(01:50:33):
and Karma, you find a nice private room with Dunzod.
He brings a lot of the suitcasesthat you guys have.
All of Karma's it could dream ondown into the room and you guys
settle in Karma. You know, I know it's nice
seeing everyone here again, but I noticed when we were talking
about Jobs, you said you really needed this.

(01:50:53):
Is something up? I just, I don't know, I kind of,
I kind of missed the adventure. I feel like that just was my
life for so long. It, you know, it's like, it's
like a reunion. I you know.
Yeah, I mean, of course it's been a long time, but you know,
I just want to make sure you're still.
Happy with our life. It's all, if there's something
that I could do to make it more exciting and adventurous

(01:51:15):
day-to-day, please let me know. I couldn't be happier with the
things that we're doing and the path that we're at.
I think it's really good that weare taking care of all those
children, you know, after everything that happened and I.
Want to make sure that's something you want too?
All right, Because if you're unhappy about this, I'm happy

(01:51:38):
to. We can go on the road.
We can go adventuring. Hell, I'll stab more people.
I'm not pretty good at. It, I don't know, maybe I'd I
need to find like a God or something, maybe like a hobby,
maybe just just like just like 1like little bit like extra
thing, you know? Hey, that's a great idea.
You know, maybe just start like praying in the middle of the

(01:51:59):
days, you know, when scary moments come up more often.
See who listens. Maybe instead of stabbing people
with knives like on adventures Isell and like trade knives as
like a side hustle. I feel like that would be like a
healthy form of like expression maybe?
A fine idea. You know, you could really show
it off too. You've got great knife skills.

(01:52:21):
I've been trying to get back that blade of delayed attack so
bad and I just can't find the that blade.
That's right. Let's go look and fill it
together, right? It gives you a tusky smile.
And so you guys basically travelon this vessel for about 3 days

(01:52:44):
across the dark ocean of the Underdark, traveling from Mantle
Dereth, the small sort of roguish town all the way across
the deep dark ocean. The word grackle Stew the city
of, well, bad air down here in the Underdark.
For those of you who have not lived here recently, you're
reminded of the great cavernous ceilings, the voids above your

(01:53:07):
head, and the overwhelming, oppressive darkness of travel.
There's no day or night cycle down here, and there's very
little indication of time movingat all.
Every once in a while you'll come across some sort of
gelatinous lichen or glowing fauna that sort of ebbs and
flows in. It's glowing at night with the

(01:53:29):
time of day, but it's still sortof hard to pick up how you know
it. Those who live down here,
considering Freya and Karma, youguys have a better sense of this
and have a better day. Night cycle.
But for Echo and Finn, it's a bit more jarring.
It's been a while since you've been down here, and even
traveling every once in a while to see your friends spending
long times here, you have to getused to the day Night cycles

(01:53:51):
once again. Three days pure darkness go by,
lit only by the few candles uponthe boat.
Jeremiah become now a master sailor of these under dark
oceans is able to navigate it with ease, incurring no trouble
and no monsters along your way during these three days.
Is there anything you guys? Would like OK, at some point I
would want to I want to talk to both Freya and Jeremiah

(01:54:15):
privately. So OK, so in our bedroom.
So Freya has it. Has it You said you had a lot to
tell me about? Yeah, well, oops, Microsoft.
There we go. Yeah.
Well, it's not so much stand track, but he, he's great.
OK. I love him.
You know, Wouldn't have married him.

(01:54:36):
Makes sense to me. Just my job, you know You don't
want to do this. So is it like the Aventroute or
the problem like you know by people?
It's just like I want to do government things.
I want, I want to get more things like like you've.
Done that. I see.
I see so like how are they like have you seen my mom lately or.

(01:54:56):
She's pretty good. You know, they've gotten a lot
less sexist. Oh, that has been something that
I've been trying to teach him a little bit better and, you know.
Yeah. Kind of made a compromise with
them. Told her name again.
Not at least her sister. Oh, Lucerne Lucernean.
Yeah. With Lucerneania and you know,

(01:55:17):
things are getting a little better.
She's cool. She's pretty nice to me.
I don't know if she still talks to you.
No, not, no, no. That's cool though.
I'm glad you guys are getting on.
Yeah, she's doing OK. Yeah.
It really does. It is unfortunate.
I wish they. Would.
I don't know. Talk to you more.

(01:55:38):
No. No, no.
She did so much for them. It's the least they could
fucking do. Yeah, it.
Doesn't. I mean, I also got them all
erased to begin with, so. Oh.
Yeah, kind of goes both. Ways.
I mean, I didn't exactly like itwasn't.
But you did everything to get them back, and that's more than
just leaving it alone. It's true.
It's not like I myself, like, erased them.

(01:55:58):
It's just like some like, coincidence.
Yeah. So I was trying to get back to
me. Got all them.
Yeah, I I see that. Thanks for keeping up with them
though. Yeah, I was, I was Ricky.
Is he reading yet? No, but he's starting to nibble
a little bit. I mean, he's still, he's still a
baby. How long does it usually take?
Them to start reading well how old would he be now in terms of

(01:56:23):
drought terms cuz I think he's like he's like 6 or.
Three, yeah. But I don't think he can really,
like, really sound words out. Yeah, like he still just says
like, like that. He's not really talking, no.
No, no, no. When he gets to that point, I'll
let you know. OK.
Yeah, yeah. You could have little info

(01:56:45):
session but pass it bring it through me first.
OK. But you want to teach him, and
then I'll give you the green light.
I do want him to have, you know, the the buff and wall is that
you do. I feel like I only really know
how to raise kids like 11 and up.
It's important for me. When he's that age-old, Yeah.

(01:57:07):
Bringing movies. I mean, I'm OK like hanging out
with him before then, but I don't know what you're supposed
to do with it. You know, just talk to him
occasionally if he gets bored, like play with him and feed him.
Sparring, yes. No, no, he's, I mean, he's like
kind of like an infant, you know, He's just like like a.

(01:57:30):
Big Boo. He's like, oh, OK, you scare
him. But it's more so like, like a
funny, like I'm not that I'm, you know, like, you know,
instead of instead of like a like an actual I could cast.
Blink and be like I'm back. I didn't see that government you

(01:57:51):
can't even read. It, but you'd leave him alone
for a second. I mean, I can see him.
You just couldn't see me. That's fair.
Yeah. If you know if you do want to
look after Ricky, you know Marcocould be there to help you too.

(01:58:12):
OK, Yeah, sure. I would hang out with that a
lot, Yeah. OK, I I don't bring him here
often because it's I don't air. I get a little bit nervous
having. Around all.
This shit, it's not a good placefor a kid.
No, we've. Gone way.
To wait. Well, way too much.
Yeah, yeah, I get that. So do you want the top phone to?

(01:58:36):
The. Bottom You know I'll do
whichever one you don't want. You have your.
Pick. You know, you sounded very sure
about that. Yeah.
Have you worked on like, you know, being a little bit more
assertive? Have you worked on yourself
confidence? You know, very.

(01:58:58):
Confident in myself, I know exactly what I need to improve
on. I'm well aware of everything
that needs changing. You know, it's just, it's just
been like, you know, like a yearsince I've been married and, you
know, you still like, I haven't gotten the bookstore up and
running. I think maybe it's time for us

(01:59:19):
to go asleep. I'll see you around for, I mean,
it's just a really big building. There's a lot of things.
I. Say it.
No, because I'm not afraid of, you know.
Feeling know? That about you.
I want to say out of the like, Iwant you.
I'm pushing you to move forward because nobody else is doing
that for you. Yeah, you're right.

(01:59:41):
Yeah. Because it's going to hurt, but
you need to move. Along I know, yeah.
It's just that no one wants to buy books.
Like people hate books. I don't know if you ever
realized this, but I learned recently that like people
fucking. Hate books?
You need to sell different kindsof books.
I don't. Well, like what?
What kinds like I would buy children's short stories.

(02:00:04):
I need that for you know. Children's books.
Yes, I need. That your kid can't even read.
Well, for when he when he gets there.
OK. And now school district could
use new books that are educational.
OK, so like if I make educational books, you'll sell
them to the school district for me?
I wouldn't sell them. You would still be the one

(02:00:25):
selling. Them thank you so much.
You would. Still be the one selling them
but I get you connected. I'm really good at sailing to
people when they'll talk to me. Can you let me lead the
conversation? OK, So you have to push it to
me, OK. You have to run through the
pitch. Yes.
And then I'll be there with you.OK, Just as just a support in

(02:00:49):
case you need it. So.
These kids, are they starting with like evocation or more of a
transmutation type magic or is it all sword fighting at that
age? It's.
Definitely not all sword fighting.
OK. I mean the school mainly does
like clerics. And drew Bids and paladins.

(02:01:12):
Do most of those know how to read?
Yeah. OK.
You guys go to sleep that night. You said you also wanted to
speak with Jeremiah. Yeah, but do someone else first.
Right, Karma. I wanna wait, I guess, Like
we're like, it's a few days, right?

(02:01:32):
Yeah, this is several days of trouble.
OK, cool. So I'm gonna like wait for like
a time where I assume rock Roachis off work.
And I would say like maybe like awkward like knock like on the
on like the door or something like that.
Try like try to find her. Oh man.
Yeah, what's up? I come in the room, is echo in

(02:01:57):
the room. There are two rockritches. 2
Rockritches. Echo What would you be doing
during this travel? I think it would be fun to
include you. Best of you.
Yeah, I'd probably, I'd probablybe with Rockritch.
Yeah, Echo's hanging out. The two of them are maybe just
playing cards on the floor. Hi, I just wanted to say

(02:02:19):
congratulations on being sober, I think.
Thanks man. Hey, you want to get in on this
game we got money on? It freak.
Yeah. What are you guys playing?
Re Dragon Auntie. I haven't.
I haven't really played that one.
I thought you were going to say like Yahtzee or like can teach
you dragon chess. No, I really want to learn.

(02:02:40):
I'm scared that you guys are going to like, Echo's going to
check me or something, but yeah.Echo's a shark, I.
Mean I'm fucking ass scooped. No, this is my first time
playing this game. My first door is a piece of you.
Dude, I miss like being chaotic and like I miss the traveler.
How is he? He's doing pretty well.

(02:03:01):
I miss him. I put up little symbols on every
city I get to. I'm really glad to hear that.
Do you still talk to you? That's so creepy.
You said some nice things. Did you ever talk about me?
Want to ask? Right now, what's he saying?
Let me ask, I think really hard. He's getting an immediate

(02:03:23):
response. He says he's really proud of you
for stopping drinking. That's fucking cool.
Wow. Sorry is this like a religion
talk? Should I like walk out of this
it it seems important? Oh no, no, I just, I just, I
like, I don't even like follow really the traveller anymore.

(02:03:43):
I just thought it was like, you know, just like a cool fun thing
to still like keep up with. I assumed Echo did.
Well, thanks for congratulating me on getting sober.
You know, it was a hard thing. Jeremiah had to tie me to the
mast. I screamed.
Yeah, I I thought people were supposed to use like, medicine
for that stuff. That sounds awful.

(02:04:04):
Honestly, I yeah, I changed a lot.
Well, yeah, I'm glad you're sober.
I mean, like, how much do you like, remember from like back
then? I mean not much.
It really comes in like waves and like.
Memory. What?
Why? Why?
I, I, I feel like I did probablyprobably fucked up shit to

(02:04:25):
everyone back in those days and.No, I remember.
You as being great. In fact, you're one of my best
drinking buddies. Yeah, Yeah, that's true.
Those were those were very good days.
Fun. Yeah.
No, you got, I got nothing. No qualms with you, dude.
We are totally fine. Zach.
All good. Hey, you want in.
Just resent the game one more time that comes it down.
Yeah, I'm gonna if I need to make a roll or something.

(02:04:47):
Like I hope. It doesn't have to know it's
just us turn into Dunzod 4. Wait.
Tell them it's OK, it's OK, But you, the group of you guys play
guards for a while. Is there anything else you want
to do? Karma.
OK, cool. Freya, you want to do something?

(02:05:07):
Right. Yeah.
Can I check on dance Reg and Monko?
Yes, you can. They've selected the room right
next to your own Freya. You actually find that
throughout the night they sort of stay up and do some
rambunctious laughing up until the middle of the night and then
fall asleep. Can you check on there?
Dan forgets to the show. Oh my love.
Freyo. How's my wifey?

(02:05:32):
I just wanted to check in and see how you guys are doing.
You notice he sort of barely cracks the door, not letting you
see much else in. We're doing good in here, we're
having fun. I really missed hanging out with
the boys. I just I just had, you know, if
you. Not like.
Your voices and I was. I just wanted to make sure that

(02:05:53):
everything was OK. It's all right.
It's all good. Don't worry about it.
I've really been missing you. Do you want to switch back
rooms? Maybe.
I could be with you tonight. No.
It's OK. I mean you need your your boys
time. Yeah, but I think free time
more. It's up to you.
You hear a crash behind him. He sort of turns around.
What are? You sure everything's OK in

(02:06:17):
there? Mako, are you OK?
Mako, are you OK? And Anthrax sort of slightly
opens the door a bit for you to see inside more.
And you see that they've completely disassembled the two
beds in here. Yeah.
You see a mass of pillows and blankets all over the floor.
And in their stead, there seems to be this sort of wooden

(02:06:37):
structure in the middle of the room.
It's a balance sort of precariously.
And you see there's one bit that's sort of loosely swinging
back and forth. Maco is standing with what looks
like a blanket wrapped around his neck like a Cape, and it's
trying to balance something on top of this strange wooden art.
Mocko turns over and gives you asmile.
Check this out, dude isn't this fucking cool.

(02:06:59):
Any point? He sort of picks out one piece
of the wood. And.
So is this sticks? Yeah, this is.
Stick. Do you like it?
It sort of rattles back and forth and the whole structure
barely stays standing. Do you like it?
It's pretty cool. I'd say it's much more
sophisticated. Yeah, I mean now, now you're

(02:07:20):
using physics. Yeah, this time no one.
Gets hurt, except when the towercollapses.
That's not a hit marker. Really bad.
Yeah. Check this out.
He sort of curls his head. You see a massive bruise on the
top of his neck. I think I passed out.
Yeah. Hard to use healing on him.
If you pass out. I'll be fond.
Yeah. We miss you, Freya, I mean.

(02:07:44):
I'm everything happens. Let me know, I will come.
Here, miss you, Freya. I.
Miss you so we. Can healing spells because of
you? It's just I'm not sure if.
I've got a bed to sleep in tonight and track turns around
it looks at the room. Maybe I'll come sleep with you
tonight, I thought. Thin in this room.
What you think? Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. The answer comes in and gives

(02:08:06):
you a big See you later, Marco, you fucking.
Baboon dude, what the hell you're gonna leave me?
Look at what? We did.
Styx is the best game. Ever.
He's pretty fun, but I want a bed.
A soft bed. All right, let's go to this new
room, Oyfin. Get like sleeping in there.
Yeah, and you're out. Bye, Bye.

(02:08:30):
Bye. OK.
Wants to sleep together, so you have to sleep with Marco in the
stick room. That's fine.
Be careful I you've died plenty. Why is it the stick room?
You'll. See, when you walk in, you'll
know why. Sorry, we're gonna have our
little conjugal visit. Off you go.
Don't. Tell me these things.

(02:08:52):
You walk over the other room, you see the horrible mess.
OK. Dude, Finn, how are you?
Check this out. Look at.
Look. What I do this and he sort of
pokes one of the sticks in the whole structure, sort of
shutters. OK, wait, but check this out.
I'll I'll start flying. Sticks.
You start flying. Sticks.
The two of you play sticks. I like to think eventually the
stick tower falls and we just start sparring with the sticks.

(02:09:13):
It's. Perfect.
He's into it. All right, Echo, is there
anything you want to do while you guys are on this this trip?
Throughout the three days, I'd like to be carving out out of
wood a little figurine of Rock Roach as a pirate captain.
Oh, that's nice. You carve her out.

(02:09:35):
You notice Rock Roach seems pretty tame the rest of your
journey, despite the sort of unusual thing in the first half
in the 1st. One was This is not rock.
Roach The rest of the trip rock Roach has been a very sort of
business. She is mostly out doing
managerial things, keeping trackof supplies and finances and

(02:09:58):
general cooking gear and sort of.
What stuff gets? Spent and what stuff gets thrown
overboard when needed as well. How much oil they need to use to
sort of grease the bottom of thehole when you go through certain
waters. She went like work.
And then she pulls her up a lot in the evenings and sometimes in
the afternoon she goes back to the room and the two of you hang
out. She likes to play cards with

(02:10:19):
you. And every once in a while she'll
just have an odd comment, like, hey, dude.
So wouldn't it be really crazy if, like, we did something crazy
in this room and nobody saw it? What's something crazy you're
going to do? I don't.
Know something like really crazy?
That say no. One would know about like I
don't know, what if we both likewent upside down or something.
That's crazy, right? Now think.

(02:10:41):
Of that, yeah, right. Or like.
Can you think of anything? I try to do a handstand.
Holy. Shit, you're upside down.
Yo wait, can you make can you make your body upside down?
I never thought of that. Let's try to make my body

(02:11:02):
upside. Down you push, try to push her
head out of the bottom and it doesn't really work.
Sorry. Sorry, that looked painful.
Sorry. Sorry.
OK, go do this again. And she grabs your legs and sort
of holds you upside down again. Yeah, that never expected me.
This is. What?
Oh, I just don't have walked in right now.
What? Are you doing but?
She drops her legs down and goesback to the bed.

(02:11:23):
Came almost like that pop up throughout the trip.
Toward the end of the trip you guys see grackle stood on the
horizon. No more is there a hazy yellow
smoke over the great city of that air.
Instead, the industrial Wonderland seems to be busy with
looks like some sort of steam powered engines all over the

(02:11:47):
entire city. This city is industrial in
nature. You see great factories and
smokestacks poking up everywhere.
The greatest of all is the greatcenter Smokestack, the central
industrial center of Grackles Duke, where the Worm Smith keeps
her home, as well as many of theindustrial leaders of the city

(02:12:08):
reside here. And even from this distance out
several 50 miles, you can see the great plume of sort of white
Gray smoke rising out from the center up until the endless
black above. It looks good and you see many
boats are docked in its port. Before, as you recall, Grackles
Stew was very much tainted by this nasty yellow air that gave

(02:12:32):
people the grackle lung, something that Karma experienced
first hand. I was about to ask.
But with the air Elemental Dawn,it seems the air is cleared up a
bit and the great city is seen as a sort of renaissance.
As you guys approach a bit closer, Jeremiah sort of calls
it out and Rock Roach gives a wave and helps out with many of

(02:12:56):
the facilitating duties on the way.
Just as just before the land hoewas called, you guys are back in
the room. Rock Roach speaks to you echo
and goes, hey listen, did you ever like think there was
something that was going to happen between us?
Like, did you ever think that was going to happen?

(02:13:23):
Because, you know, we spent a lot of time together.
Did you mean like in the like inthe last three, three days or
did or did you mean like like before or?
Yeah, you're right, I'm stupid. Stupid.
No I I was asking do you mean? I mean you were sleeping on like

(02:13:45):
the floor for like 3 days which felt kind of weird.
Yeah, you're right. I'm stupid.
Yeah, it was weird. Probably should have done
something else. Hey, listen.
One last time for old time's sake.
Can you be me again? Oh yeah, what is?
She OK, this is Hattie. You're talking to Hattie.
Last time she looks at you, gives you sort of a tilted

(02:14:08):
smile, runs over, sort of ruffles your hair, fluffs up the
the clothes that you're wearing, gives you a smile and goes,
dude, you should come live. On the ship.
I think you'd really like it. Yeah, you think so?
I'd love to have you around. Really.
Yeah, I'm gonna be a pirate captain.
You know, that sort of a thing that I'm working for right now.
You could be like my pirate first mate.

(02:14:29):
I. Wouldn't mind my magic clothes.
I give her a pirate at. Holy shit, see, that's what I'd
look like. You could be my pirate partner.
Really. Yeah.
I would do it. Could I still try to, like, sell
books while we're here? Whatever.
Whatever you want. Deal.

(02:14:49):
It gives you a nod and a smile, and the ship begins docking.
You guys all begin exiting your room.
Ever get a chance to talk to Jeremiah?
And now you get your moment. Yes, you get your moment with
Jeremiah. So I'm sorry about all that
earlier. Has it been on the ship in
general? I know it's been like a week.
It felt kind of long, though. Rewinding a bit, this is you

(02:15:09):
guys in the middle of the ocean,Yeah.
Just. Idly at the hand of the wheel,
Jeremiah responds. His frame is still as noble as
you remember. Three years seems to have done
him quite good, and if anything,he's gotten a bit more noble.
And his lavishness. Memory curses.
Son, I've been doing great out here.

(02:15:30):
I've been missing it like a damnmotherfucker, though.
This ship's not the same withoutyou.
I get new crew all the time and I move through him so fast and
well. When Tavis left it was too bad
but. I don't know.
It felt different, like when he moved away, it was like.
He was done. And I'm glad I still get to see
you. Me too.
I mean well. Now be honest with me.

(02:15:53):
How's the bookstore been, really?
It's not really a story yet. Right now it's just sort of a
building with some books in it and a lot of and a lot of tarps
over those books. It rains a lot in water deep.
I don't know. It rains a lot in water deep.
I don't know if you remember. I'm sure you do remember that.
You probably know all about the weather and there.

(02:16:15):
Oh, yeah, it's been OK. It's not been bad.
I don't know. I kind of miss being on board.
It's hard being in charge of my own thing.
No. I know it's especially hard, but
you're doing it. You're taking care of it by
yourself and it is your own thing.
That should be something you're proud of, son.
You're on your own. But.
You'll always have me to fall back on, you know that, right?

(02:16:36):
I know that, yeah. I was thinking maybe once I get
the store like up and running really well, like maybe a few
months of the year we could spend it on the ship.
Like looking to source new booksto copy and sell.
New books to copy and sell. Yeah, you know, I've all that
rare tomes, there's only so manythat can be sourced from in

(02:17:00):
water deep. So maybe I'll need to see more
of the world again at some point.
He gives a big smile and he goes.
That's what make me the happiestCaptain Dad in the world, yeah.
That would make me the happiest honorary.
Cabin boy in the world. I son, he puts a hand around you
and guides your hand to the wheel.

(02:17:21):
Oh no, I don't. I It's so stressful to drive.
Please don't wake me. OK, I can do it.
He smiles and holds the other end.
I'd really like that if we can make that work.
And you know, I've been keeping an eye out for rare tones on our
journeys. Not a lot has cropped up, but I
don't have a bit of a surprise to show you.
Really. Do I get to see it now or should

(02:17:43):
we wait for his? Voice booms, and he guides you
down to his captain's quarters. You recall it same as it was
before. A great hammock in the corner, a
beautiful sea chest in the middle as well.
The lavish trees of stolen flags, beautiful ornaments and
items that he wasn't quite able to sell at market.
For example, a beautiful gold adorned bathtub that's been left

(02:18:06):
in the middle of the left in themiddle of the room.
It'd have been pretty well for yourself.
You see up against one of the walls looks like a mirror,
perfectly finished with a gold filigree lining the outside.
Other such strange firmaments line the whole room, and he
gives you a big smile as he goes.
I I've been doing quite well formyself.

(02:18:27):
Yeah, wow, I remember when the bathtub was just a wooden tub on
the deck that I wouldn't use. My And now it's this lavish set
fit for a king. Yeah, you don't stop running
water, too. He sort of waves underneath it,
saying that there's no pipes. And then he twists the knob at
the top and you see a magical spring erupt.
I mean, that's cool, but I sort of point at my hand.

(02:18:48):
You'll pardon me for not being too impressed.
Of course, my son, he quickly stops it and you see the water
drain. That's great though.
That's great. That's really, actually really
cool. Well, the thing I want to just
to show you was and he guides you over to one of the far
walls. A bookshelf has been set up
here, as you recall, filled withancient tones.
Many of them you recognize, but a few looks like about a dozen.

(02:19:09):
You don't. He guides you over to them,
showing them off and goes. These seem like the nicest few I
could find on other. Ships get me.
Damned to find another ship downhere that carries fine
literature that you want, but I thought maybe you could take all
these for yourself. These are.
And he shows. Thank you.
So much. It's all original scripts.
Of. Some nonfiction tales of

(02:19:34):
historical figures or descriptions of how to's your
how to guides of how to farm in the Underdark, how to grow corn,
how to raise the rothy cows thatreside down here.
As well a few. Fictional tales too, of epic
heroes that you might have read growing up.

(02:19:55):
All fine leather bound tomes in good condition.
He hands them to you with a smile.
These are Where did you find these?
Like I told you on the librariesof other ships that we came
across, some were willing to trade for it, others perhaps a
bit coerced to give them away. You're leaning more into the
pirate thing lately. We have to keep the crew happy

(02:20:17):
and besides, it's mostly smuggling.
I don't like to get my hands dirty too much.
Yeah, I know. Thank you so much for all these
that they'll I think they'll sell pretty well for you trying
to tell him what to sell and you.
Can sell them if you want, but they're for you.
Well, I'll copy them. And so that's sort of my
business model. I'm looking in three years time

(02:20:41):
I will own 4 automatic quills. So I could be copying 4
manuscripts at the same. Time.
And then I can't wait and we're cracking.
I had a dream the other night, amachine of.
Letters I You could build it if you want.
I don't know. I don't know a lot about

(02:21:02):
machines besides cannons I guesssort of like.
Maybe you'll meet someone who knows how to do it.
Oh my God. And their last name was
Gutenberg. I thought their last name was
Oval Hella. Son, you don't need to worry

(02:21:26):
about such frivolous things as pages around here.
You know, it's just a title, andyou're more than that.
You're more than anything on this ship.
Yeah. I know I'm just, you know, I
have a sort of replacement complex.
As you've recalled your. Back is right above the main
entrance and I got to use the room.
I know, I know, it's just that used to be sticklebacks room so

(02:21:47):
it sort of stung extra then he's.
Gone, he left. He wanted to go on his own
adventure. Well, when we get him back,
would it be his room again if you wanted it?
Approaches back to the hall. That's what matters.
Of course, I don't trust her toomuch.
Like, I know she's like a good person, sort of, but.
Not a. Fool I.
Know. I know what I'm doing.

(02:22:09):
Sorry, Sir. Hey, it's all right.
You're doing great, and if you wanted to look at into this
whole machine of letters thing, I'd be happy to help you.
I'll think about it. Evan Johnson Pictures.
He gives you a big smile, Patsy on the back and leads you out of
the room. With that then you guys all

(02:22:31):
arrive at Grackle Stooke. The great industrial city sits
out before you. You dock the great vessel
Jeremiah's Smoke Razor in the port.
One of the larger ships in this port.
Most of them are small merchant mercantile trading vessels that
travel only 100 or so miles to nearby ports.

(02:22:52):
Very few were able to traverse the whole of the dark ocean, let
alone the surface ocean as well as Jeremiah can.
He gives you all a smile as the ship docks and he pays the
dockmaster a few coins for some legal Tinder and as you guys all
been begin to collect your things, he goes.

(02:23:13):
Just you all. Know they the door on the ship
is always available to you. If you'd like to take some time
to come visit, please do so. I've been hearing some word
around from me crew that some ofyou or a little interested in
joining some time, so please feel afraid to come by.
Say hi to legal. Thunder sometimes a don't say hi

(02:23:33):
to some friends and in the meantime, go look at first
stickleback, all right? Ben is crying.
I want to show up to. Jeremiah and go to shake his
hand and then he'll say Aries. He shakes your hand and sort of
squints at you and goes. What do you mean?
I suppose that's his name. Can I look at his hand and do an

(02:23:55):
XI check? No way leading.
Home. No way.
My God, a double roll goodness. He can be advantage when trying
to determine if people were yeah, yeah.
Yeah, I know 2121, you determined that this is in fact
not OK a shape changer or you were rather you're very

(02:24:20):
confident it's not a shape changer?
I look a little sad. You forgot me, Captain.
You forgot about our our celestial bodies thing.
He squints and his eyes go a bitwider and oh, forgive me, Echo.
An old man's mind goes sometimes.
I suppose I meant to say Scorpionow.

(02:24:41):
I look for Rodberg Scorpiony. I feel like it's more confusing
than you guys pick the two that are names.
And people in our immediate vicinity.
Yes, went. Through Jeremiah off come back.
This is your old bud. I will, captain.
I you go off and find Rock Roach, who is standing out right

(02:25:02):
in front of the cabin, sort of arms crossed up against it.
She's smiling as you approach goes.
So I guess you guys are going now.
I guess so. All right, Jeremiah says we're
going to hang out in the docks for a bit here and give you guys
passage off, but he's an old fuck, you know We can't help.
That's OK. He seems to have some smoke left

(02:25:22):
on him, some fire. All your girlfriends, I hate
them. All so badly.
All right, I'll look after him. He's safe.
Thanks. Oh, before I leave, I pull out
my little wood carving. Shit, what's this?
This is awesome. It's gonna be you.
Takes it and sees it and wow this is fantastic you made this.

(02:25:43):
Dude this is so cool. Backwards gives you a big smile
and goes wait, can I keep it? Of course, yeah, that's that's
why I gave it. I can have it, yeah.
Takes in, sort of cradles it andgoes Oh my God, I'm going to put
it up, but maybe I should get a shelf in my room.
I'll put it on the shelf first thing.
You should look at it while you become a captain.
Looks at it, smiles and sees it.Hey, you'll make me more right?

(02:26:07):
Yeah, what? What else do you want?
I don't know what do you mean wearing like a tall hat?
A tall hat, OK. Yeah.
Like a top hat. I don't know, maybe you and me
together, whatever. OK.
All right. OK.
Cool, thanks. You'll come by right to bring

(02:26:27):
those. Yeah, cool.
You should cuz you promised it. Yeah.
OK. Cool.
She reaches out of hand and shakes yours she back.
She sort of walks back and then she looks down at the wooden
statue and smiles. OK, come back to the Moat.
OK, she runs into the room and she slams the door shut.
And then you see the captain approach you all.

(02:26:49):
So I can't come and join y'all? You know these old legs, they
can't work on land so good. But I suppose I'll see you all
off. Old man.
He's not that old. Good luck in there and please
come by if you need any help. Yes Sir, just have a salute.
Tears are pouring down my face. I like to Finn cries extra hard
because of the water plane. Thing.

(02:27:10):
It's like to like, not like shooting out, but like they're
running. That's wrong.
Finn, are you all right? I guess to go back.
Back wait, you're just going to see me in like.
I mean, the hell are you? Going to be stuck here a while.
I'm just going to miss you untilthat, OK, it's.
Not going to be that long. I don't know.
He strides over to you and reaches out a large seaman's

(02:27:31):
hand. I'll.
Say seaman like that in a while when you say that the young
people hear something completelydifferent.
Unpredictable to you? Break out of your hand.
Yes, Sir, I reach out of hand. And he grabs yours and gives you
a firm up and down handshake. 2 shakes.
I try not to give him a dead fish.

(02:27:54):
He lets go and then brings you into a hug and goes.
And you're going to be fine. I know and Stick OX going to be
fine too. And then we're going to find Da
Fish wherever the fuck he is andlove another family.
Find them all right. They'll come back when they're
ready, just like you did. We'll have that family dinner
real soon. Yes, Sir.

(02:28:14):
Yes, Captain. Commodore, I don't know your
title now, just changing so fast.
Just call me Dad. OK, Dad, Captain.
Oh, it feels so wrong. That's all right.
OK. We'll give that family dinner
soon. I like to think that that's the
sort of establishment I've made in the.
Little ship here. A place that people want to come
back to. They do for sure.

(02:28:37):
It'll be all right, OK? It'll be brave for me.
Yes, Sir. And he sees you off, who has all
legs at the ship, leaving Jeremiah and Rockroad behind as
well. Legal Thunder stays back and you
guys enter the city of Grackelstick, a sprawling city
that many of you guys remember quite well from even just a few

(02:28:58):
years ago when you last visited. The many windowless buildings
that you guys pass on your way all seem to have a bit more life
to them. In fact, a few people even seems
to have been done carving out their windows once again into
the street. These buildings of Grackles
Dugar are all made of dark slate, a deep stone that blends

(02:29:20):
in well with the cavern around it.
The lighting here is mostly doneup by the large plumes of fire
that burned through the smokestacks nearby.
There are very few lamp posts here.
Instead, houses seem to burn their own candles and small
candelabras near the windows, illuminating the streets
somewhat. This is the town of Dwigger.

(02:29:42):
Deep notes. These are short folk, just like
gnomes themselves, but with darkhues for skin and bright white
beards. Many of them have nearly pale
white eyes, grown accustomed to dark vision so much that their
overworld vision has turned their eyes Milky.
The workers here, mostly stonemasons and men of their

(02:30:03):
hands, workers and metal allergic professionals, those
who work in the industry. There are cities where metal is
hanged out and folded and formedinto fine shapes such as
pickaxes and swords, but here inthe city of Grackelstug, raw
iron and metal and copper and brass is turned from sort of a

(02:30:27):
slushy slurry form into ingots, and that's what they do here.
You find ingot makers everywhereyou look.
There are very few shops that you find in Brackelstug.
Most of them seem to be exactly what you expect.
Metal shops, blacksmiths, and a few leather workers.
A few food stands can be found along the way, but it's gritty

(02:30:50):
dark colored food burnt to a crisp just how they like it.
And Greckelsthook. The people here seem much more
energetic than last. You were all here though.
Deepen on children just like into play in the street, people
seem to be walking up and down. Elderly couples of deep gnomes
enjoy the night air as you guys all arrive.
Walking around simply enjoying the space.

(02:31:12):
You guys all walk slowly enjoying it on your way to the
great center Killer, the Furnaceas it is called, the greatest
largest industrial center in Grackles Duke.
Approaching up the great wide stairs, you guys pass a great
mini cartoon of deep gnome guards.

(02:31:32):
Up on the stairs you get a better view of the city.
It's done up sort of like a clamshell reached on the outside
that meet the water. A flat back on the inside with a
that seems to meet a giant slatewall.
The furnace is towards the center where the Pearl might be
in the clam. You guys obviously arrived on

(02:31:52):
the outside, on the sort of skulls.
On your walk to the top of the stairs, you might have noticed
the shattered Spire, a stalagmite that juts out of the
dark ocean, connected by a rope bridge.
Now to the mainland Zabar that you all had visited once,
destroying the rope bridge and creating an ice bridge instead.

(02:32:13):
It has now been rebuilt in the rope bridge, doubly enforced.
From here you also see the Hall of Spells where you had to find
a secret trapdoor to travel pasta solid stone door.
As well you find the Cain formedTavern for the stone speaker.
The giant prophet lives in the distance up on the top of the

(02:32:35):
steps. Walking toward the Pearl of this
clam you pass by a great many deep gnome who seem to be a bit
in higher spirits than the last time you were here.
Again, there used to be a sort of renaissance occurring.
Trade is bustling. The marketplaces and the
dockyards are filled with peoplebringing cargo to and from.
You notice ships from Mens O barons on drought, ships filled

(02:32:58):
with foreign dignitaries and traders, people who normally
wouldn't trade with a city like this at all.
Additionally, you find groups and groups of what look like
different races and species fromall around the Underdark,
visiting here, trading, bringingtheir own sort of spice to the
city of Grackelstuk. This place has.
Seriously become sort of a havenfor a lot of the folks who, like

(02:33:20):
the many folks of Blingdonstone, were sort of kicked out.
The Underdark dwarves that were unhoused from that situation as
well the many, many folks livingin Ontogram at the same time
were also booted out. I seem to have.
Found a lot of solace here. You find there's a bit more

(02:33:42):
luxury as well. People walk in the streets, have
a bit more of nobleman's attire on.
You find trades folk and merchants who sort of reach a
higher tier than you're normallyused to in under dark cities.
Folks who are willing and sort of excited to flaunt to their
wealth in a city square. Something that's normally the
kind of thing that gets you in trouble in an under dark city,

(02:34:02):
but here things seem to be bustling.
Karma Eyes? Any particular jewelry?
What's the city? That made you into the shelf
keeps. Lair.
Can't say that here you. Can't say that there's old.
Twisters of higher old karma. They were posters of you here
too. I just.

(02:34:24):
Wanted in Blingdon stone. You want it here too.
Yeah, you're Zachary too? Yeah, for Zachary.
Yeah, Zachary. You're twins.
So yeah, we probably shouldn't say that either.
They're listening. The Port Strangler, Yeah.
Yeah, Strangler and Shop Stabber, the classics.
And it was the dog. Oh.
God, it was the dock. Stalker Dock.

(02:34:45):
Stalker. But for some reason you guys
also calling me the port strangler.
No, you don't. Know you were so funny I.
Like the Port Strangler? You know anyone?
Yeah, didn't you just like firebomb the beach or something?
No, I firebomb the bar full of evil pirates.
Evil pirates. And then I think Zachary killed

(02:35:06):
some people. Cast evidence of someone
firebombing A room. Yeah.
Oh no, I firebomb lost some. They most mad it.
Spins all move. So at the top of these steps,
you guys got a proper view of all of Grackles Duke.
It's a quite bustling city. When you guys were here before,

(02:35:27):
you recall that some of the locals here told you that many
of the districts of Grackle Stewed had fallen to ruin.
You recall that they once told you about the clefts of this
great sort of clamshell shape. The East Cleft in particular was
known to be struck in with a sort of contagious madness.
This is where Droki was. Born.

(02:35:51):
Jerky McKee made him. This contagious madness took
over the whole cleft of the city.
You guys never went there? Yeah, but they were crazy.
They held them. We.
Were foolish. This higher area had been like
walled off but now you guys get a good view of the east side and
it's been DeWalt. Mr. Gorbachev tore that thing

(02:36:12):
down. Oh my God.
Instead it's sort of been rebuilt as a bit of a civilized
structure. A lot of the buildings torn down
by in maddened and enraged individuals have been rebuilt
and trade and structure has beenre established.
Seems the Worm Smith has a pretty strong hold on her city.
I can't believe back then we were in a city that had a whole
neighborhood of madness and we didn't go to it, no.

(02:36:34):
My biggest regret is not exploring the city.
Yeah. Well, no, we have our second
chain. We're back.
So finally at the top of the steps you are greeted by the
Keepers of the Flame. These are the most intimate
members of the Worm Smith's council.
These figures, mostly deep phenoms, but you spot a few
humans and even a drow among them, where all white ropes,

(02:36:58):
almost like priests that each bear a small pendant on their
neck with a small flame eternally burning inside of it.
Small trinket. One of them greets you.
The drow gentleman approaches you all and goes oh, I believe
the worm Smith has been expecting you all.
Did you all receive a? Package of burning flame.

(02:37:18):
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, had something inside that
was a little interesting. Of course, please.
Do make your way this way. I'll have you meet with her
immediately and please do not kick up any trouble in our city.
We were informed that your last visit by my predecessor that a
bit of trouble was stood. I.
Understand. Yeah, I will just say she does

(02:37:41):
owe me about 400 Golden Lost Prophets.
You'll keep that up with the William Smith.
That's his name. OK, No worry of mine.
I'm still new here, and I wish not to bring that up with you.
All right. Respect.
That as we're walking, can I look up and see if I see the
purple blinking? As you pass.

(02:38:03):
Through the threshold, you look up this spot to see if you can
see that giant orb that she had placed out.
For some odd reason, you notice that yes, there does hang a
large looming orb. It's huge.
It's got to be 3 feet by three feet wide hanging above the
threshold of this entrance. But.

(02:38:23):
You notice something is amiss about it.
Instead of glowing purple, greenor blue or red as you saw
before, it's cracked Gray and a bit translucent, as if somebody
broke it. It sits there and does nothing
as you pass. No detecting changelings here.
The Keeper of the Flame notices you, sort of look up and goes,

(02:38:45):
yes, that old thing broke a yearago.
Goodness, I don't know why we had it around for so long.
Did anyone break it? I just recall I believe someone
must have come by to do it, but most keepers don't really care
about those things anymore. Supposedly the threat was dealt
with, now your accommodations will be.

(02:39:06):
Kept. For your food and lodging and
dining will all be paid for by the Worm Smith while you reside
in this town and do beyond good behavior.
Always are. I mean, can we like have like
like a buffet or like, like, like a buffet party?
Can we take home leftovers? Yeah.

(02:39:26):
Why do you bother me with this drivel?
No, I'm sorry. You're doing your.
Job, Yeah, right. Yes.
But this drive? The Keeper of the of the Flame,
of course. One of her Lady's most intimate
council members, I see. Our council members usually
intimate. I'll be gone with you.

(02:39:46):
He sort of scoffs at each of you.
You notice he has to hold back for a moment as he looks at
Freya. You.
Hate. Crime.
Micro questions. Enjoy your time my lady.
Do you guys have a history? You 2 know each other.

(02:40:07):
The male drill. You know you're supposed to
treat a female drill with respect.
I heard at least I mean you should go both ways.
I personally believe in male trial rights.
But. No, it should go both ways like
I said. But that was like, I think
everyone should not be rude to everyone.
No, you should go. You should always go.
Rights. You turn the fuck off, my
friend. Yeah, let's go.

(02:40:31):
Daddy. Let's GoDaddy, boy.
Yeah, you should. I didn't actually mean that.
I really quite love. You I haven't had a chance to
defend myself, but. Yeah, you better.
Didn't want anyone speaking for you.
Well, I wasn't. Saying anything mean?
I like that we just got a chanceto weigh in.
Yeah, I heard the experts or thecouncil.

(02:40:53):
We're like a rat pack again for me.
Apparently. Nope.
Well, I mean. I'm afraid you should just put
your mind in you. Know Open.
I'm not saying anything mean to him.
I'm not degrading him because he's a man.
No, I know, I know. You're good.
You're one of the. Good.
No, you're good. He was kind of rude.
Wait, good. She she stood up for my male

(02:41:14):
right since the beginning originally.
Yeah, I loved that one time whenyou had to pretend to be a male.
Right, Male scribe, slave. That was good.
I do remember pretending to be your male slave a lot.
I was so mean. Wait, Echo and I also pretended
to be slaves sometimes. Yeah, to Freya.
Well, because we were all men, Iguess.
I actually think. Yeah, I like this guy.

(02:41:39):
Into it so that we would blend in more that's.
Right, that's right. She she really mean when you
were a man, I think. We did it so that we could go to
places. Yeah.
We would lie, yeah. This is a wonderful the waiter
and all the women were so mean to me and that one lady made me
drink line off her booth. Right.
Yeah. Like it's like, yeah, what?

(02:42:00):
Was that at? The time, yeah.
That was really horny and rush guys.
Pretty Kippy. Yeah.
I mean, I wasn't feeling it, butit just felt like the situation
and. I think that's what made it
full. Like, is that that you weren't
feeling it? Yeah, exactly.
That's not a panic to talk about.
Yeah, I'm not into that sort of thing like mutual support.

(02:42:22):
For the block. Both a solo mission.
Amy, what's your problem with Brad?
She's great. Dude, it's been a while since
we've been down here at Mako says.
I think maybe it's just drowers.Still a little touchy about the
whole thing, you know. Yeah.

(02:42:45):
I don't think we're liked here. Oh no, I think it's called.
All right. Listen mate, we have rights.
Now it's just we need to be moreopen about it.
You know, if we're quiet about it, it's like, you know, brings
the movement down. Guilts tickle back but you guys
get that through message. It's to go back dead can go on a

(02:43:07):
really. Steep spiral.
Well, the dungals are still moving, right?
That's probably a good time. Yeah, they are moving.
Or less intense and if Jeremiah died.
Less close. Yeah, we've.
I've died. We've gone through worse.
I. I have taken the proper
precautions. And I love you, Karma, but it's
just like my little brother is like my responsibility and I

(02:43:29):
don't think anyone else on earthloves him except me, so I feel a
lot of pressure. No, I love all stickle back.
We're going to get that stickle back.
Yeah. I love this stick Meister.
No dude, that's my boy all. Right, so the keepers of the
flame guide you inside of the Great Furnace.
Now entering the Great Building, you notice that the flames above

(02:43:49):
it are roaring higher than they ever did before when you guys
were last here. In fact, you sort of look up and
you. Almost notice there.
Seems to be other little small glinting, glittering things in
the great cavern above you. It's hard to make out.
As you enter the building, the keeper of the Flame guides you
down a long, lavish corridor. You walk upon a beautiful red

(02:44:09):
velvet carpet and down a hallwayof gorgeous marble and gold
filling the walls, gold columns surrounding you, gold paintings
of piles of gold. Eventually you were led to a
giant set of double doors that open up into a huge room.

(02:44:30):
You'd imagine this is near the center of the furnace, though
you don't see that giant plume of fire out of the middle, so it
must be somewhat close. Instead, in this room you find a
horde of gold. Know the description for it.
It is piles and piles. Hundreds of thousands of gold
pieces, silver pieces, copper pieces and platinum, as well as

(02:44:51):
gold chalices, gold chess, gold paintings all stacked in a giant
pile. Dunzad needs to hold Karma back.
Dunzad got both of his hands on your shoulder.
Listen, you got to keep it together, man.
You got to keep. It together it's.
All right, it's all right. It's all right.
Like we practice, remember, justbreathe.
And you get to see now basking sort of lounging on a chaise

(02:45:15):
lounge made of pure gold, the worm Smith.
She is accompanied by six of these keepers of the flame
wearing their white robes. Many of them seem to sort of
just be like tending to her as servants might, holding plates
of food or drink, or seems to just be beckoning at her beckon
call. She lays, however, sideways.

(02:45:38):
As you recall, this woman looks like a human.
She has long fiery red hair and what looks like a taller frame
do you think perhaps 6 feet tallor more?
She wears on her body red and gold scale male that sort of

(02:45:59):
ends at long what looks like gold plate male for her legs and
feet. Her upper half is mostly exposed
though to allow her arms access to move about and grab at many
of the plates of food around her.
She looks up at you all, and herlong angular face, cheeks cut
from glass, jaw sharp, is a fucking knife, looks over at you

(02:46:23):
all. She takes a moment to take you
all in and then writes herself, standing up and striding toward
you. Anyhow.
Higher kneels down. Who's that?
Karma heals, kneels down. I like that no matter what
character Carter is, for some for some reason we fuck up his

(02:46:44):
name. I do too.
I can't do. So funny.
Mako elbows Dan. Track.
Dan track elbows Mako. Both of them go down.
Good boys. Dan Track Dan Track gives you a
look. Freya.
Do you need help up again? That's a scary woman.

(02:47:06):
You look over Freya. She strides towards you now, a
giant crooked smile on her face with sharp teeth in her mouth
like sharks. How about now?
She stops but an inch short of your group, sort of bringing you
all in, and a heat emanates out from her.
She approaches each of you, sortof 1 by 1, going right in the
face of Karma, then right in theface of Echo, sort of looking at

(02:47:27):
you, staring at you, right in the face of Freya.
She looks and stops on Finn and then pulls back, standing tall,
the tallest of your group official.
Can in. Fact.
The tallest in the room. Do you think tallest in the

(02:47:47):
city? Haven't seen any taller.
Oh my God. She gives you a big smile and
goes right do get up, you don't have to kneel.
Come now. We're old.
Friends, aren't we? Yeah, I just wanted to first
time meeting you. OK.

(02:48:09):
She sort of looks back at you and sort of looks you up and
down. You see her eyes are golden and
slitted like a snake's. You sense a presence off of her
and energy and a heat. She looks you up and down, gives
you a smile. Where's our friend?
Higher, you could stand back up and you see Dunzo sort of helps

(02:48:30):
you out, right? Let's get right to business
here. The First off.
Welcome back to the city of Drackelstuk in its heyday.
I would say what a beautiful city you all resided.
This day. I want you all.
Back, you know it was. Difficult to find help for this
particular problem, but it's nice to have some old friends in
the city, plus or minus some unfortunate accidents that

(02:48:54):
occurred while you all were here.
I don't think I didn't notice The Wanted posters floating
about. Well, but the one that looked
like me was not actually for me.Your Honor, don't.
I just. Think that the pictures looked
anything like. Me, don't try to weasel.
Out of it, it's fine the. Favor you did for me vastly

(02:49:15):
outweighed that. In fact, it is that very favor
of delivering me, the unborn, that I was able to squash.
Yeah, I remember. I think about that a lot.
Yeah, me too. That favours the only reason
you're here. Now consider this repayment for
the kindness you did to me. She smiles and sort of returns

(02:49:35):
back to the lounge chair, sitting up top it, and watches
you all. You see?
Ever since the air primordial left to the city, breakfast
Duguir is better, so much better.
Business has been better, our great factories can return to
normal volume, and my goodness, how many other poor unfortunate

(02:49:56):
cities went belly up that now need my good support?
In fact, I've made quite a few dealings with the local royalty.
Menzo Baron's on, of course. Quite nice to get them licking
at my heels. Do you like them of?

(02:50:19):
It seems to me this Grackelstukemight be the greatest city in
the underdog now. To celebrate it now, we've been
rather fortunate to reintroduce one of our favorite pastimes
here at Grackelstuke, a sort of sport game we used to play up
here many hundreds of years ago before the Air Primordial.
Perhaps this was the thousands the Ember Grasp games held right

(02:50:42):
above this very furnace. It's quite simple.
We simply allow two fighters into the ring.
Wearing girdles of flying, they grapple one another in the air.
Above the great. Fire above us.
The vent that is above the furnace burns hotter than any
sun, and as they grapple one another, if one is perhaps able

(02:51:05):
to remove another girdle, that fellow falls and falls into the
great furnace above. It's a quite well accepted and
welcomed the game, and those whoparticipate in it are well aware
of its costs and detriments. Besides, recently we've had
quite a few of these. Flying can arrive, disappointing

(02:51:27):
us all with the avoidance of thedeath of losing.
But no matter. The reason I bring this up is
regarding your friend or mutual acquaintance, Aries.
Oh, he lost. Well, he arrived.
At my city about a month ago andwas looked after by one of my
keepers of the flame. Some deal that I had no part in.

(02:51:48):
I believe some sea captain was managed to finagle some sort of
financial. Deal with the.
Keeper of the Flame does not matter to me what they do in
their spare time, but it doesn'tmatter when they turn up dead,
as happened with this particularkeeper right at the start of our
first game. Not 5.

(02:52:08):
Days ago. My Keeper of the Flame turned up
dead right outside of the attendance hall for the Great
Ember Grasp games. It's an unfortunate.
Thing They are some of my closest counsel, most intimate.
Some might say turning up with their corpse was a rare

(02:52:29):
assortment of three grasping andgrowing tentacles.
This is what I said to you all. Yeah, I got them.
But as I. Informed you.
As I informed you, this is not something meant to be some sort
of threat. It was merely part of my promise
that this is actually what's happening to your friend.
You could. Have wanted to let a little
differently. Yeah.

(02:52:49):
Felt a little bit like that, I thought.
It was effective. Thank you I.
Didn't love it? Yeah, I hated it.
Yeah. I don't care your opinions on
the matter regardless. This.
Keeper of the Flame was looking after your friend Aries, and I
suppose failed at that task, losing both Aries and his own
life. Pitiful.
Well, now I have to get involved.

(02:53:11):
It's. OK, we got it.
And they can handle it. She sort of stands up again,
snaps her fingers. A molt of flame bursts out of
it, a fire bolt straight into the sky.
All of the keepers of the flame in the room bow their heads and
exit, leaving you all alone withthe worm Smiths of Dracol's
Duke. She takes a moment, waiting for

(02:53:33):
them to leave, that loud iron hang of the doors closing behind
her. She looks at you all.
You see the pigeon who? Found that body was an enclave
of Drow representatives from allover.
I ask that you all intercept this Drow sectional at the games
audience. They have their own little
booth, you see. And well this drow party that

(02:53:56):
found my dead keeper, they know more than they let on.
But because I lead a foreign country and they still have
these old roots to appreciate and well try to see menzo barons
on through, they won't talk to me.
I implore you all go undercover, watch the party and figure out
what happened to Aries. You might learn more, but do not

(02:54:19):
mention my name at all. I don't want my fingerprints on
this. Why won't they talk to you?
Seems like you're doing really well.
They consider me an enemy of this state.
You recall in previous years Grackelstoop did not have a very
friendly nature with Minzo Barons on.
In fact, I had quite a few drow fighters, Rangers and Wizards

(02:54:43):
for a dinner once. They didn't like that, of
course. And now, well, I suppose
tensions are still high. They won't talk to me or my
keepers or any of my law masters.
So you must all go undercover here, find out what you can,
talk to them, you all. Spend some time in Menzo.

(02:55:04):
Barons, and perhaps you know someone there.
Do whatever you. Like.
And keep in mind, this is done as a favor for you sending me
Fred. Of course, what's their payment?
You joke. Dunzon sort of taps you on the
back, dude. We don't need a payment.

(02:55:25):
I don't understand how you asking us.
Never mind, I do understand it now.
Your friend was lost in my city.I'm telling you what happened.
Thank you. Thank you for you.
Take care. Of.
It from me. Goodness, how broke are you all?
Not at all. We're.
Actually really well off right now.
Yeah, all of us are. I would say I'm kind of getting
by. I'm.

(02:55:46):
Done. OK.
Listen to me very carefully, allright?
The punishment for killing one of my keepers in the city is far
worse than death, I promise you that.
In fact, I have a bounty on the head of that killer.
If you uncover some sort of plot, then we can discuss a
payment. She sort of glances behind her
at the pile. The mountain of gold.

(02:56:07):
I used to really look up to you.But only after it is done.
Is that understood? Yes, ma'am.
Sure, Your Highness. Sure, Your Highness.
Yes. Yes.
Yeah, please. Antrug and Marco still on the
floor, she sort of looks at you all independently.

(02:56:29):
She clasps her hands in the heatto radiating off of her
increases for about a moment andshe turns around and goes back
to the lounge, laying out upon it and picks up a small bowl of
what looks like some sort of burnt up grape.
She grabs it and place it in hermouth and begins chewing on it
loudly. That's like reasons.

(02:56:50):
Sure, whatever you like. Weird answer.
Import from the north up in yourcountry.
The overworld a fine thing. And does north go up?
I don't. I don't know the way, she said.
It implied that she thinks. It does, but it doesn't don't.
It doesn't. How do you know where we were?
I thought I was off the grid. How do you think I got that box

(02:57:12):
to you you? Fool.
No. Yeah, like how do you know to
get the box to me though? I'd like to keep in touch with
those who do favours for me. As you might guess, I don't like
owing people and. Well.
Three years of owing people got to me.
Luckily the perfect thing came up.
Too bad for your friend. Very.

(02:57:32):
Convenient for you though. Now the games are continuing.
These in progress games continue.
For about a month. They're continuing now, and they
occur every day. Many competitions occur, a great
many variations and uniquenessesof each one, but they continue
now as is. I shall grant you all verbal

(02:57:52):
warnings as you enter into it. Some people get a bit feisty
over these things and do try notto get yourself killed if you
would join for some God forsakenreason.
So go find this Drow enclave. They have a booth in my great
slate slag up against the wall. You'll find them there and
you'll learn more. Do not speak a word of this to

(02:58:15):
anyone. You all understand.
Understood. Good.
And that's where we're going to end our episode for tonight.
Wow. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Yeah, good session. So many old friends I didn't
know my brain was still this broken.
I did not expect sober Rock Roach.

(02:58:37):
I was. I was.
Ready for her to be. Fucking drone yourself.
Anything you know goes on the. Death.
