I love doing stuff like this, Like right before we
go on and so you got like the dumb show
on whatever it is. I don't even know what the
dhows are in the morning, and it just came up
that that rock party is unlikely to play on Sunday
because you know the Niners are back. You guys know that, right?
Oh yeah, as long as you guys know that, then we'll.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
Be Christian McCaffrey questionable.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Yeah, of course, he and Maz I had no idea
who their backup quarterback. It's Mac Jones.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
Mac Jones, Okay, cool, Mac Johnes.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Who a National Football League today? Man? I mean it
is amazing, there are so many. I was about to say,
mid how about bad quarterbacks? In the National Football League day.
Guys are going to stick around for a long time too.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
It's Jimmy Gee when you need them.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Geez Pete man, good morning. How are you lots going on?
By the way, while we have a moment, never forget
nine to eleven. I cannot believe it was twenty four
years ago. I cannot.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
It's unreal, man. You know today slips by now. A
lot of people, like there was a time where I
could not see nine to eleven on the clock every
time I I just could not get it out of
my head. And I'll always remember I grew up in Jersey.
I watched those towers being built. I was in those
(02:00):
I was in the observation deck maybe a month after
it opened. My family. I'll never forget it. And then
we had to watch him come down. It's something I'll
never forget. It's our pearl Harbor. But even worse, three
thousand people perished.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Yeah, just absolutely discussing. You know the thing that jumped
out to me too. And I'm not getting too deep
into this, okay, trust me, But here September eleventh, and
we remember what happened twenty four years ago, and it
was amazing how this entire country came together. Yeah, and
considering what yesterday was, which was an incredibly depressing day
(02:36):
for me personally.
Speaker 3 (02:38):
Me too.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
A human being was slaughtered like for the world to see,
and people took it someplace that shouldn't have gone.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
And I don't care.
Speaker 4 (02:48):
Who he is and what he does.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
That's a husband with two little kids like it. That
was depressing to me. Man, I'm not gonna lie like
it was.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
It reminded me of the nine to eleven when they
went and they showed you the Arab countries wherever they
was showing and they were partying in the street when
the towers came.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Then we were a country so united that day it was.
It was amazing, it really, and and then the weeks
afterwards and then you know, you had what yesterday is.
And I'm going to leave that over there because there's I.
Speaker 3 (03:18):
Mean, we're it was horrible.
Speaker 2 (03:19):
We're practically Russia. We may as well be shoving people
out of windows with some of these assassinations that are
going on.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
We're back in I always bragged about the sixties and
the seventies, and let's face it, the sixties were full
of political unrest and look at the assassinations. Look at
nineteen sixty eight on its own. We're back in those
days again. We're back in those bad parts of that
of that time.
Speaker 2 (03:45):
It's gross, but that's it. Hopefully you take a moment
to remember. I mean, that's there. Are you know, as
sports fans were different, we are We're built different, Okay,
And what I mean by that is we we when
there were big moments sports like where were you when
Maglio hit the home run?
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Right right?
Speaker 4 (04:05):
Where were you?
Speaker 2 (04:06):
And like we're huge with dates like we are it's
March twenty.
Speaker 3 (04:11):
Six, You're amazing with dates. Amazing.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Well, I'm like Charlie Badntt. It's like rain Man.
Speaker 3 (04:16):
Seriously, I'm rain Man like you, but I'm a step down.
Speaker 2 (04:19):
It's I don't I don't get like my brain just
holds on and things like that, Like March twenty you
say March twenty six, mac, right, everybody knows.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
I mean Mac twenty six.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Yeah, you don't even it's it's not it's not you couldn't.
It doesn't matter. If you're a hockey fan, you say
March twenty six. Oh yeah, I know, you know. It's
it's weird. So and that's a date that's going to
be etched in our memory forever.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
It is.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
It's it's a date that's going to be in our memory.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
What's the news? So I don't know if you knew
that about me. I'm just not a newsy guy.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Smart idea.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
I never do.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
I jumped on to that train probably a couple of
years ago.
Speaker 3 (04:54):
People laugh at me, they say, mass you're in a bubble.
I am. I'm in the sixties, seventies and eighties bubble.
I am. I watch old shows, I watch reruns. I'm
on Breaking Bad for the fifth time. I know that's
a feel good show, but I am on it for
the fifth time. I'll probably do better. Call Saul, I'll
probably do that next again. I watched Batman almost daily.
(05:15):
Leave it to Beaver. That is the menace, mister ed.
I'm sorry. I'd rather just laugh then cry. I would.
And sports sports is my life. It is. Oh oh
my gosh, look at my DVR. I'll show you the list.
I got Love Boat on my.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
List, so damn good. It's unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (05:41):
It really.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
We just started watching it again and.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
It's like it's fabulous. Ray Horn Ray Sea Horn is
an amazing act. They didn't win an Emmy. She didn't
win an Emmy.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Insane. Tigers blast the Yanks again. Wow, unbelievable.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Uh, twenty three to two to three, twenty three to
three and two games, guys, And they won the season
series for the first time since I think twenty eleven
is really how about that? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (06:09):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (06:09):
They won a series against the Yankees, a season series
for the first time since it might even be oh two,
let me check Ryan Field. What was it?
Speaker 2 (06:18):
This is the first time they lost back to back
games by ten or more. Yes, ever, that's that's incredible.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
Ever right at home?
Speaker 2 (06:25):
Right, Yes, yeah, it's insane. We needed and we needed
to see good Jack.
Speaker 3 (06:30):
Although twenty eleven is the last time the Tigers beat
if you're not at.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
The point in time in watching the Tigers and watching
Jack Flerty to accept that it was great what he
did yesterday, But you know, next time out he's gonna
get bombed. I don't know what to tell you. I mean, KG,
I think you and I have been done. There's there's
good cop, bad cop, there's good Jack bad Jack. That's
(06:54):
the way it is.
Speaker 5 (06:55):
Yeah, and he didn't cost thousands of dollars in city
damages yesterday hopefully going forward, you.
Speaker 4 (07:01):
Get this Jack because you need this Jack.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
God.
Speaker 5 (07:04):
You all of all this season you've talked about who
is the number two, who is the number two, And.
Speaker 4 (07:09):
I've told you it has to be Jack.
Speaker 2 (07:11):
It will be like I agree with you, it's gotta
be him. By default.
Speaker 5 (07:14):
He's the highest paid player or second highest paid player
on the team, so you have no option at this point.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
He has to be good.
Speaker 5 (07:20):
You gotta just hope in the playoffs that he turns
it on and he doesn't give up home runs.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
He might have found something yesterday. He might have Don't
don't go down there, get back up, Sean, and don't
throw your hat. He might have turned the corner yesterday. Okay, Sean, Sean.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Hey, listen, big d energy coming up on eleven.
Speaker 3 (07:42):
You guys, he turned the quarter.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
I hope you're right. How's that?
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Listen? The team I saw the last two nights reminds
me of last September. Can I say that Parker Meadows
five hits in this series, Dingler phenomenal, even Hovey Baiez
taking a walk, torqu three hits. Rley Green Boy. If
(08:12):
he was a Yankee, he probably have fifty home runs.
Thirty three home runs for him, and of course Glaber
Torres he had the first three runs of the game.
Even Yankee stadiums not booing that guy. This team is
reminding me that they just might get hot like last year.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
Can you guys get KG or JB, Because like, I
have a confession to make and I think a lot
of you can relate to this. In my hurriedness to
get out of the house today, I left my phone
in the shitter.
Speaker 4 (08:44):
Oo.
Speaker 3 (08:46):
Oh it is it happens.
Speaker 2 (08:47):
You know what I finished? And then the dogs were
kind of like whining, like okay, Dad, we gotta go outside.
So like I took him out and I look at
the clock and it's like, oh shit, at six fifty,
I gotta get out of here. I got about ten
minutes away, and it was one of those things. I
was like, all right, I'm gonna turn around. And I
was like, if I turn around, I'm gonna show up
at eight twenty. Yeah like that, So like it's just
not gonna happen, and you deal with it, can you guys?
(09:10):
Look when when Jack's next outing is, I'm guessing it's
the Cleveland series, right, because the last two home series
of the year.
Speaker 3 (09:19):
Forthcoming Atlanta and Atlanta. All right, so it'll be Cleveland.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
I think we're all we're all looking to see when
clinch Day might be. You know what, will will it
be during the Cleveland series? Will it be during Atlanta?
Hopefully it's at home?
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Right magic number eight?
Speaker 2 (09:37):
Hopefully, hopefully it's at home. And we'll all move on.
But just let me know the next time Jack pitches,
because now I have to make a mental known event.
Thanks Mans, you're welcome, Thank you. I hope you're right.
Wouldn't that be great? Oh man, something clicked and everything.
This is him, that's shit, that's just him, you know,
And I've kind of accepted it, and we'll see what happens.
Speaker 3 (09:57):
Seven innings, only five again, but it is the Yankees.
They wear you out, so we'll see.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
That's see.
Speaker 5 (10:05):
I think that's part of it too, is like, all right,
you get the schedule for the first game of a
Cleveland series.
Speaker 3 (10:11):
So far cool?
Speaker 2 (10:12):
All right, we'll revisit that. How's that that? You know what?
Like Casey Mice, Wow, he went six innings for the
first time in almost a month. Like, it's so taxing
on bullpen that doesn't need to be taxed. Right now,
And that's why I'll disagree with you in regards to
I get what you're saying about Parker Meadows and Dingler
and guys, you know, contributing everything. But to me, the
(10:35):
secret sauce of last year was that pet.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
Of course, to me, the secret.
Speaker 2 (10:39):
Sauce was Pitching Chaos and and bow Brisky like all
of a sudden, you know, I make the joke all
the time. He fell out of bed in the morning,
bumped his head. He woke up and goes, I'm Mariano Rivera.
I'm gonna go out there and just dress people down
where I have no idea.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
I would even hurt his name? Do your number four?
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Didn't didn't he get hurt again? I think he got
I think he went down to Toledo and then he
got hurt again.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
Yeah jeez, yeah, chat, hey, Chack, can you find bow Brisky?
Please find him for us?
Speaker 2 (11:09):
You remember how good he was, dude, ca Like I
was joking, I want to have bow Brisky appreciation days.
Dear Bo, Do you know how much we appreciate you?
Well today you will like I mean that that's where
it was at. But yeah, we'll see. It's it's nice
to see something like this and you know what it's,
you know, the sinsey from Karate Kid. Finish the finish
(11:33):
them today. I'm going I'm going full Cobra Kai finish
the Yankees today.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
We've got a bullpen game, though, Finish them.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
I want I'm yeah, sweep them.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Why not?
Speaker 2 (11:45):
That's that's where we're after. So that story came out
in the Athletic about the Tigers front office and uh,
just a horrible bad look. There's there's no there's no
other way to say that. Some of the stuff that
are happy allegedly in the office, and a lot of
the people talking about things the Tigers are responding in kind.
(12:08):
And you know, people have been suspended. There have already
been people that have lost. But I don't I don't think.
Do you want some free advice. I'm gonna give the
Tigers some free advice. If you're watching, all right, if
this gets back to you, I'm gonna give you guys
some free advice. You need to hire a new PR team.
You do, you need to hire.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
A new PR team.
Speaker 2 (12:30):
The optics of the franchise right now aren't very good.
Speaker 3 (12:33):
Yeah, bring back Tyler Bond.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
And it's a franchise it's a franchise that I love,
like honestly, and you guys, you guys can check your records.
I had season tickets for years, Okay, so you know
I have that sense of entitlement as you know, as
somebody who bought the tickets. Well, my opinion needs more
because I had season tickets. I'm not going down that roade.
I hope you guys understand that, but I just I'm
(12:55):
saying that because I love this French It's fantastic. I
love going down to the park. Okay, that was so
cool for so many years to have season tickets. Whoever
is in charge of your pr okay, I don't know.
If it's one person, I don't know. If it's a group,
I don't know. If it's an entity. They should all
(13:15):
be fired. Yeah, every one of them, every one of them.
I've never I've never seen a franchise around here in
recent times. Do more like quizical eyebrow raising like the
Scott Harris comments from a couple days ago. Dudes, you
don't say things like that. You don't. You have generations
(13:37):
of people, generations of people who have been waiting for
a World Series. Okay, we've been oh so close, so
many times, and we're really excited about what you've been
able to do the last couple of years. But you
don't tell people, especially after, whether you want to admit
it or not. Scott is absolutely inconsequential. You bombed a
trade deadline.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
You bombed it.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Anybody want to argue that, anybody, Bueller, anybody in the chat,
anybody in here.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
We got a closer and then he got hurt. But
that's not his fault.
Speaker 2 (14:11):
It's not his fault. But when you look at the
totality of it, Okay, you made the team worse. Bringing
Charlie Morton and Chris Paddick in made the team worse.
I don't know how anybody could argue it. So you
don't say something like it's a privilege, or if Scott
says something like that, you know what the pr staff does.
(14:31):
They watch that clip and you go, can you guys
take that clip out? Can you just just just take
that clip out? What do you what do you think
people are gonna say?
Speaker 3 (14:39):
What? You know?
Speaker 2 (14:40):
And so you put up that statement again, put up
that statement again from the Tigers. We are committed to
a culture of respect, safety and inclusion. We do not tolerate, discreety.
I'm not gonna read the whole thing.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
You guys, You guys know what they did do out
of this. They were one of they were I'm sorry,
they were one of three teams that didn't give maternity
slash paternity leave. One of three. They now will do
that starting in January.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
That's a good thing.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
That's a good pr that's a good thing.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
Some of the some of the comments yesterday, and I
don't need to bring them up because I think that
the heat that has come from them and I hate
using this term, but it's it's tone deaf. It's tone deaf.
Do you know sometimes you know what you have to
do if you f up? And I've been a guy
who fucked fed up many times. Okay, do you know
(15:33):
what you have to do? Sometimes you have to go
my bad. Yeah, I'll try to be better. Seriously, I
hope you can forgive me. This is you know, this
is a teachable moment. Like I'm sorry, It doesn't matter
if it was only ten or twelve people that were
complaining that.
Speaker 4 (15:51):
Ten or twelve tony shows Yes, exactly, how about that part.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
I saw that statement, and you know who you are.
I saw that statement. I was like, holy crap, are
you that loss?
Speaker 5 (16:01):
A woman should never feel less safe in the workplace,
point blank, period.
Speaker 3 (16:06):
Nobody should nobody, nobody.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
But especially if it's a human being. That's a human being.
Too many? Something tells me if there are ten or twelve,
maybe there's a problem.
Speaker 5 (16:19):
Absolutely, and maybe there's more me yeah, because like, come on, man,
what are we doing?
Speaker 4 (16:24):
And I don't like to see.
Speaker 3 (16:26):
I've known people there that have that have left.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
It's it's sad, and and and I think the timing,
the timing of it right now doesn't help because the
natives are restless. We did shows here, and and I remember,
and and our brains, whether we want to admit it
or not, goes first to where's the baseball team at?
Speaker 3 (16:50):
Right? Where are we at?
Speaker 6 (16:51):
Right?
Speaker 2 (16:51):
That's right? Wrong or indifferent? That's the reality of it.
Speaker 3 (16:55):
We were in last place. This thing might have exploded, right, exploded?
Speaker 2 (17:01):
Okay, But but I think right now fans are feeling
a little testy. We did the shows. What was We
need pitching. We don't need just an arm, we need
a couple arms. We probably need a couple of bullpen arms.
And we need a bat right and and and so
we got Montero, Finnigan, Morton, and Paddock. That's it, right,
(17:26):
So yeah, I think I think this is more than
even the story itself. Right now, I think the Natives
are restless, and they've watched a team kind of struggle
in the second half. Now they're what two games over
five hundred I think since the break. If I'm not mistaken,
I think they're two games under five hundred. And we'll
say again, hey, listen, they're one of the best teams
in the league, man like. But I think it's safe
(17:48):
to say the Natives are restless a little bit. And
now it's getting time to money time. So a story
like this comes out, and you know, the story's bad
enough as it set as it is, but I don't
think some of the statements that came out in lieu
of this story were real well thought out. Like sometimes Okay,
(18:11):
I know you don't want to, but sometimes you have
to sit back and go, wow, we've heard these voices.
We are so sorry. We are gonna do a thorough investigation.
We are gonna get to the bottom of this. When
you're talking about being blown out of proportion, when you're
talking about it was only ten to twelve year You
sound like an idiot somebody like somebody. And I know
(18:32):
you're powerful, and I know you're a higher up, and
I know you're probably untouchable, okay, and tip of the
cap for that. But I also know for a fact,
for an undeniable fact, that you don't like the bad press.
And I know your owner doesn't like the bad press,
and I know that the entire franchise is oh doesn't
like the bad press. Maybe you should get yourself a
(18:55):
good pr person that Hey, listen, kg KG, I know
you you get emotional, right, not emotional like mass Okay,
but hey, do you mind before before you press send
on that statement? Can I read it? And I'm looking
out for your back, dude, I'm not no disrespect.
Speaker 4 (19:16):
You're my guy.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
I'm not trying to censor you. But maybe in this
moment that you're pissed off and rightfully so, because you're
into a damn thing and you're being you're Can I
just read this before you press that. You're right, that's
exactly exactly, and I think, I think and trust me,
can you do the same thing for me?
Speaker 3 (19:36):
You know how I am going?
Speaker 2 (19:40):
Like Sean before you throw the heat, I want you.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
To think of.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
But like, seriously, here's some free, unsolicited advice from somebody
who's been in this shitty business for a long time. Okay,
Sometimes sometimes you're not the smartest guy in the room.
Sometimes sometimes many times I'm not the smartest guy in
the room. But one thing I have learned definitively is
(20:04):
sometimes in your emotion, you might want to just take
a step back, and maybe I shouldn't press send on
this because that then the pylon happens. You know what
I mean that it's bad enough, but then people see
a comment like that and go, dude, are these people
for real? It's there were a lot of dumb comments yesterday, guys,
(20:27):
a lot of a lot of And please don't listen, listen,
please don't take credentials away. Please don't like I'm saying
this out of love. I'm saying this out of respect,
Like honestly.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
We love the team.
Speaker 4 (20:40):
Franchise, love franchise.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
You know what, see you know what it reminds me of?
And I know you've talked to me about this, do
you know? Do you know why? One of the reasons
why I can't stand that I did that damn March
thing is because people thought that I hated the lions.
That that of course, but it pieced me off like
you wouldn't believe, Like that's the point of the mark,
(21:05):
that's the whole point.
Speaker 7 (21:07):
At this point, do you understand those to where we're
walking in the middle of winter.
Speaker 2 (21:10):
We are marching into hell like like, this is gonna
get bad, This is gonna get really bad. And what
happened two and a half years later? You kept him
for two and a half years and it culminated into
one to sixteen yep, like like and again, like I said,
for me, it was like talking to some people without
names being named. They told me, Okay, you don't understand.
(21:33):
If anything, the owner is gonna dig his heels in.
Oh yeah, nobody's gonna show me how I can do
my team. Now, this is my team, this is my
guy righting and that that's the kind of stuff. So
Tiger's free unsolicited advice. I know I'll probably become your enemy.
Unfortunately that's how it works. But I'm saying this out
of love. I'm saying this out of out of every
(21:55):
Get a PR guy, get a hey, listen, talk to me.
You got my number. I'll help you out with PR
you'll read the text. I wouldn't charge you too much,
but I like, I'll help you out with pr.
Speaker 5 (22:07):
Like sean to take it a step further, how about
you fix the fucking problem.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
On top of that, heads need to roll behind.
Speaker 5 (22:14):
There needs to be mass firings, and you get people
in there that's not gonna do this type of stuff.
Speaker 3 (22:19):
Guess what, you eliminate the problem.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
You won't have this bad press? Is that simple.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
I mean the names that are in this former Tiger
players and broadcasters, I mean they're other they're the added
for you to read. They really they did it. They
did a bad thing, and they did not they did
not fall on the sword quick enough.
Speaker 2 (22:40):
I am a firm believer in due process, okay, and
I I wouldn't. I wouldn't say go fire KG, go fire, Madge,
go fire JB, go fire anybody. But you know what
I would do. I would I would call people in
and say what's up, and then I would get their
story and I would get his story, and then I
(23:01):
would act accordingly and mas to your point. If it
means that I have to fire four or five guys,
and I know they've already released some they have even
before this story came out, and one was suspended even
before this story came out, I'm with you, fumigated. Hey, listen,
we all wax poetically about the Detroit Lions, right, we
(23:23):
all waxed.
Speaker 3 (23:24):
We do we do?
Speaker 2 (23:26):
Do you know what they did? They went in and
they finally did what they should have done for years.
They fumigated. There are people that shouldn't be there. And
every workplace is like that, right, I mean every single
There are people that just are kind of going in
the different direction, like Okay, guys, let's go this way,
and for whatever reason, they're bitter, they wish they were
(23:48):
doing more, et cetera, et cetera. Culture is of the
utmost importance. And if you don't believe me, ladies and gentlemen,
I present to you the Detroit Lions culture is of
the utmost importance. And it sounds to me from afar.
I'm not inside, I'm not in the office. Okay, there
(24:08):
is no inside information there based on this, Based on
this story and unfortunately some reactions, there's a big culture
problem with the Detroit Tigers right now.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
It's disconnect for sure. Yeah, all right, but the Tigers
win again. They did again. They run again, they.
Speaker 2 (24:28):
Did win again. Right, all right, we are up against it.
I don't know what.
Speaker 3 (24:32):
Time it is. It's perfect time to break.
Speaker 2 (24:34):
It might be nine five right now, because again I
left my like and of all places, I know exactly
where I left it. Okay, I have a Phil Steel
magazine in my bathroom. Okay, I do. I have a
Phil Steel magazine. So I start reading. It's like, okay,
well today I'm going to read a little bit about USC.
And I'm reading about USC and and then the dogs.
(24:56):
So I get up a couple of whites. I was done,
Thank the good Lord. It wasn't it's any white thing.
Took the dogs out and I look it touched.
Speaker 4 (25:06):
Sometimes, yeah, as much meat as you eat.
Speaker 2 (25:09):
It's like, dude, it's like I need to invest in
a day.
Speaker 3 (25:12):
Can you just throw that ship out in the morning
on Amazon?
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Just stick my leg up like a dog and just
go come out.
Speaker 3 (25:19):
Sean. You can get him on Amazon, now, can you. Yeah,
you can add it right to your toilet.
Speaker 2 (25:24):
Sometimes I'm in a Brenda flash of water. Brendan, get
on that, let's go. But it was one of those things.
I took the dogs out and I looked at the microwave, clock,
and I'm like, oh, ship, I gotta go. So I
bolted out the door and then it was like I
left my phone, So it might be nine to fifty
five right now, JB, where are we going?
Speaker 4 (25:44):
We have to hear from Planet Fitnis and the new
people are in. Jake, I gotta put up some super
chants for everyone. Shout out to everyone sending him in
as well to two dollars from Burn, He sends in
what was Shawn's Tiger's pre season record prediction?
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Do you remember, h KG? I think eighty three?
Speaker 5 (26:04):
Yeah, you were eighty three. Neil was at eighty one
and I said eighty seven.
Speaker 2 (26:08):
Yeah that it was, yeah, and it something like that, Yeah, yeah.
I thought that they would take a step back. I
did absolutely well.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
You were wrong.
Speaker 2 (26:17):
I'm going to get absolutely no doubt, which is a
good thing. It wouldn't be the first time and it
won't be the last either.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
H We got five dollars from Jordan Lionheart. He says
in baseball SATs are so funny to me. It's like,
this is the first time a guy from here hit
a home run at this time on this day, wearing
pink gloves. It is It is outstanding. So some of
the ship that people come up with baseball find a
way to make a step.
Speaker 3 (26:42):
I know, my kid was telling me.
Speaker 2 (26:44):
I wasn't. I wasn't aware of this. But there there's
like a site called Baseball Savant.
Speaker 5 (26:49):
Yeah, shut up, Oh my gosh, dude is but if
you don't know how to navigate it though that he
taught lost. Yeah, he taught See for me. There's like
there's hock reference, which is great. I mean, the ship
you can look up a reference.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
It's incredible. It's incredible.
Speaker 4 (27:06):
I mean, I need to check that out. Shoot five
dollars from Burn, he says in make me the Tigers
pr I'd have twisted that. Scott no speak good. What
Scott mit was we are happy to see current success. Obviously,
we want to do better Burn.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
You nailed it like that that. Like sometimes sometimes I
know you're brilliant, I do, I know, but sometimes maybe
it's best to let somebody else read your words because
you're not exactly savvy, especially in today's society where people
can twist the slightest thing and make it sound to
be something else.
Speaker 5 (27:41):
It was in the perfect environment to controlled Jason. All
you had to do was just say hey, I'm proud
of the team, but we want more.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
Yes, you come with that.
Speaker 3 (27:52):
That's it.
Speaker 4 (27:53):
This was a layup and you fumbled it. So it
don't get more controlled today. We got five dollars from
during Lionheart, he sends in. He said, Chris was never
the smartest man in the room. Dude came from daddy's money,
but always FTV and let's go Lions and Tigers, fuck
(28:13):
the Bears.
Speaker 2 (28:13):
We're gonna get a lot into the Lions in this
next segment, and a lot into the Bears as well.
I think what I think?
Speaker 3 (28:22):
What you know? What?
Speaker 2 (28:23):
To your point, Jordan's do you know what people have
to do? They have to be cognizant of that. So
what they have to do is they have to hire
people in their front office that that do have the smarts.
And and again I use the Lions because all of
a sudden, boy, we live in bizarro word world. The
Lions are the poster child around here for how to
(28:43):
run a good franchise. You have an owner that steps
back and says, I don't know what. I don't know
Lions fans, so what so what am I? What am
I gonna do? I'm gonna bring in a guy who
saw how absolutely screwed up this franchise was lived it
his entire passionate career. Well, other than that little time
(29:04):
he went elsewhere. We don't like to think about that, right,
So who else better to know what ailed this franch
Sometimes you have to have the smarts to use your word, Jordan,
to take that step back and go, well, there's this guy,
this guy, this guy. And if I'm hearing this about
this guy and I'm hearing that, maybe they weren't good hires,
and maybe I need to go in a different direction.
Speaker 8 (29:24):
One.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
Amen, Amen.
Speaker 4 (29:28):
And finally we got too from Mike gen directed towards
UMass from your DVR Days four ninety nine. He wants
to know who's hotter.
Speaker 3 (29:37):
Julia Juliemar, So catwoman or batgirl?
Speaker 2 (29:43):
D Craig did things to me, all right?
Speaker 4 (29:45):
So which one is waiting?
Speaker 3 (29:46):
That's Julian Numar's Catwoman.
Speaker 2 (29:51):
She was pretty hot, she's super hot. But to me,
Von Craig, to me your ginger, I'd have some fun
with that ginger.
Speaker 3 (30:00):
It was a wig, was it?
Speaker 2 (30:01):
Really? It's even better?
Speaker 3 (30:05):
I'm sorry that role play, right? That girl was something? Man?
So is Catwoman? Give me a tie. I'm sorry, I
can't pick.
Speaker 4 (30:17):
They both have no curd.
Speaker 2 (30:18):
Hey, Yvonne, can we play Burglar tonight?
Speaker 3 (30:21):
You know?
Speaker 2 (30:21):
And she catches me in the middle of the act
and oh my god, catches me in the middle of
the act.
Speaker 3 (30:28):
You dress up. You have to be punished.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
No, don't Hey what that justice?
Speaker 3 (30:37):
Yeah? Justice does me different people. Three letters.
Speaker 4 (30:43):
You got another one from Mike g one ninety nine.
He asked you who's hotter, Ginger or Mary Anne?
Speaker 2 (30:49):
Who that's a giffing? Come on, don't don't do me
like Mary Ann? Yes, old, can't Mary? I had that
bel thing going on. You know. She was nasty.
Speaker 3 (30:59):
You like the little you like the little shirt that
was here, the little short short.
Speaker 2 (31:03):
She was so sweet.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
But Ginger is a true true red at.
Speaker 4 (31:08):
Let's see this other girl.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
There's Marianne Marry.
Speaker 3 (31:11):
That's Marianne. Looks like the girl next door.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
Look how sweet shoes. But you know, the second you've
gotten through, okay, you will first.
Speaker 3 (31:24):
Then get off of me. Yeah, she was like she
get better. She was something man.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
You want Ginger Trina Louise.
Speaker 3 (31:36):
And something man with the kids.
Speaker 8 (31:39):
A little bit.
Speaker 2 (31:39):
Ginger just kind of gives you that vibe like, no,
you can't stick it there, you know what I mean?
Where's what you need to do? These pigtails?
Speaker 3 (31:54):
Missus? Howell?
Speaker 9 (31:55):
Where are you?
Speaker 3 (31:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (31:56):

You know, Marianne's gonna die.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
You know, she is like Jesuid Marianne could have been
from Michigan. That's the kind of girl mary Anne was.
Speaker 2 (37:15):
I can see her like JP, You're familiar, like like
do you know that drive like from our area up
to East Lancy. You get like I could see her
being from like me.
Speaker 4 (37:24):
And somewhere in the middle.
Speaker 2 (37:25):
Yeah, like, Hi, I'm from Fowlerville. This is my first
time to the big city.
Speaker 3 (37:31):
Let me xavi or d said. Julie Newmar was a genius.
She invented support top pantyhose. Go get it, girl, And
he said, don't forget Diana Rigg from the old What

Diana Rigg. Look her up.
Speaker 2 (37:51):
See do you remember when they brought in the black
Cat woman? Like these guys k a right, but she
does she does that. So yeah, oh my back then, kids,
I have to turn the station off, you know, because
they're like where that where that we turned on the
Christmas music. I'm just telling you the car Well, I'm
(38:14):
just gonna turn this song off.
Speaker 3 (38:16):
Dad. I like this song.
Speaker 2 (38:17):
You can like it on your own time.
Speaker 3 (38:19):
Okay, where has this show going? Rails?
Speaker 4 (38:30):
Shout out Dexter James too.
Speaker 3 (38:31):
He said, welch, that's more.
Speaker 4 (38:34):
I'm a raquel.
Speaker 13 (38:35):
That that was.
Speaker 2 (38:38):
Were we on Big D Energy where where I brought up?
Like there was in my lifetime. There is nobody like
Cindy Crawford did things to me like I wouldn't. I
didn't like looking at her, like I'm not joking. It
was like the Pepsi commercial would come on and it
just like it like it hurt me. It hurt me physically. Gosh,
she didn't like it.
Speaker 3 (38:59):
Bring up Barbie eaton, Jeanie. I dream of Genie and
then I had it between her. Can you imagine you witched? Listen?
Come on, Elizabeth Montgomery.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
All right, listen, come on, Genie pops out of the bottle,
starts calling you master.
Speaker 3 (39:13):
It's over. I'm your master, Yes, Master, Larry Hagman, what
what do you do? The three is the magic number.
Speaker 2 (39:30):
We're on radio right now, Like p D would be
running down the hall right now. Don't do it. Get
away with it here, all right.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
Hey, she's right behind you, Sean, No, she is, she's
right behind you. Okay.
Speaker 2 (39:54):
That the spread six and a.
Speaker 3 (39:55):
Half, six and a half, six and a half.
Speaker 2 (39:59):
I'd lay it, I'd lay it. I'm not again.
Speaker 3 (40:05):
Records.
Speaker 2 (40:05):
Our overall records show that mass is running away with
with our.
Speaker 3 (40:09):
Picks right now.
Speaker 2 (40:10):
I had a brutal week after a good week one,
I had a brutal week. If I were a better
and obstatial limitations are up, I've confessed this probably some
of you. I used to be that guy. You have
no idea I used to be that guy. And back
in the day before you could pull up the phone
that isn't here at sitting in my bathroom right now
(40:30):
because I had to take a shit real bad, like
I can't put that stuff on my phone because I
know me. I have to protect me. I would be
like this all day. So I mean no disrespect, especially
to some of our clients. I can't do it like
I know me, like I have that type of personality, right,
But every neighborhood had a fat man, of course, a
(40:53):
guy who took a bet, and and I was. I
was degenerate. I was. I openly admitted I was. I
think the good Lord. I don't have any horrible story
that made me go I can't do this anymore, and
I unfortunately know way too many people like that. But yeah,
but I was smart enough to quit. If that makes sense,
you know because you it is I have a very
(41:19):
addictive personality. Yeah, I have a very addictive personality. Hi'm
Sean Beligian for Kodiak. But so I I have to
police myself. But Mas, when I saw this number, originally
I liked it, but to your now, I love it.
I love being nervous, and I'm I I subscribe to KG.
(41:40):
What KG said the other day? You what did you say,
garon damn sheet?
Speaker 3 (41:44):
It is that.
Speaker 2 (41:46):
I'm in.
Speaker 3 (41:46):
Yeah, I'm in. We are not going to lose.
Speaker 5 (41:50):
Care how it looks, the Lion's will Capitol will win
this game.
Speaker 2 (41:54):
And I think they went emphatically. I really.
Speaker 3 (41:59):
Taylor Deckers again, m he says I got something going on.
I'm gonna try to play through it. I don't like
those words.
Speaker 4 (42:08):
Had an injury report yesterday did not look great with that.
I don't like those on that list who did not
practice yesterday.
Speaker 3 (42:14):
Maybe preventative, but we have to worry mostly about him
because of the two young guys that are on the line.
And there's only so much Penny can do. You do
you know the type of injury? No, he didn't say.
Speaker 2 (42:26):
I'm gonna say it again. Sorry, And I know I
sound like a broken record. But from the day that
Frank announced his retirement, Like, if you didn't see this happening,
all right, even even if everybody was healthy, if you
didn't see this happening, you're not paying attention. There has
to be some cohesion, There has to be some reps.
There has to be a lot, a lot of things
(42:48):
to come together that you're not gonna get in a
preseason game, and you're even not gonna get in what
is really the preseason, and that's the joint practices now
all right, that you're just you know, it's it's gonna
come with time and and this line is gonna be fine.
I firmly believe it. Like I said, if we're having
these conversations two three weeks from now, we are screwed.
Speaker 3 (43:10):
We we we really are.
Speaker 2 (43:12):
I don't I don't think it'll be that long. I'm
not worried about it. But in the meantime we might
not be.
Speaker 3 (43:17):
Top three anymore offensive line, but we could still be
maybe a top ten.
Speaker 2 (43:21):
Hey, I don't care. I want it at the end
of the year. I know all the prizes come at
the end of the year. It's like that, damn crackerjack Box,
I can't. I gotta get that prize.
Speaker 3 (43:30):
While I get that tattoo. Tattoo, I want the.
Speaker 2 (43:33):
Tattoo, right, Maryanne, right on my right here, I'm new
to the city. What do you want to do tonight?
Speaker 8 (43:48):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (43:49):
Dan Campbell talking yesterday about how losing effects it. Let's
hear from Dan Campbell, right, because.
Speaker 14 (43:59):
I don't like losing. Our players don't like it. And
you go back to work and you get back to
the basics of what you do man, and you hit
it head on. Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. We're
all accountable and if we want to win, we got
to do the little things right to prepare that way,
and then we got to play that way.
Speaker 2 (44:15):
So that that's what gets me going, no doubt about that.
And and you guys, I hate to say it. I
don't like what I saw on Sunday.
Speaker 3 (44:27):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (44:28):
I'm just not worried. I'm not. These guys have a
track record. There's a track record established. Now, Okay, this
isn't flip the coin and okay, which Jack flaerty are
we going to get tonight?
Speaker 3 (44:40):
Right?
Speaker 2 (44:40):
It's it's it's not it's not that it's Dan Campbell like,
hasn't hasn't he earned enough kind of cashier, right?
Speaker 5 (44:50):
I mean not to the general populist, because he's a
Lion's coach and the Lion's historically, so yeah, maybe to us.
Of course he gets that because we haven't seen as
much winning until he came through the doors. So I
think that this team is more than capable of getting
back on track. And hey, if they prove not to
(45:11):
be that, then we'll approach that when the time comes.
But until then, I know what this team is capable of.
I know I've seen them do it and they're gonna
do it again.
Speaker 4 (45:21):
Here's a better cut of that, Dan Campbell. I know
it was hard to hear the audience GP.
Speaker 14 (45:27):
You know what fuels my tank is losing, right, That
fuels me because I don't like losing. Our players don't
like it. And you go back to work, man, and
you get back to the basics of what you do, man,
and you hit it head on. Nowhere to run, no
where to hide. We're all accountable and if we want
to win, we got to do the little things right,
prepare that way, and then we got to play that way.
So that's what gets me going because that's where the
(45:50):
standards are at now. So that's that's the nature of
what we're in right now, you know, And that's a
good thing. That means that we've risen above what we
were at one time. That's that's what we That's our world, man,
that's our world. But I know that if we felt
that way and acted that way, we'd be in trouble.
(46:12):
And so that's we can't worry about all that, you know.
And uh, all, I just mentioned this the other day.
All you worry about is getting better, you really do?
You Like, we got to get much better with our
fundamentals and communication, just those two things alone. And if
we improved that a whole other step above what we
did last week, we're going to be much better. And
(46:33):
then let's get a little bit better the next week
and it'll take care of itself, it really will.
Speaker 2 (46:38):
I listened to that guy, and again, consider the source,
I wasn't KG. I think it's safe to say that
maybe in the room, you and I were the guys
that were kind of at the lowest level of concern, right.
Speaker 8 (46:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (46:51):
I listened to the guy and I'm like, Okay, he
just reminded we were cool.
Speaker 4 (46:54):
Yeah, I mean, it's a marathon out a sprint. You
saw what happened to him last year.
Speaker 5 (46:59):
We came out the gate, everything's looking great, Slewer injuries
Like throughout the whole year.
Speaker 3 (47:04):
You had to deal with the injury. Lis just growing
and growing and growing.
Speaker 5 (47:07):
But they were able to weather that storm. And we
all know how to playoffs sanded. Don't get me wrong,
but that just shows me the type of coach that
we have. He can handle adversity better than any coach
we have ever had in this building.
Speaker 4 (47:19):
And that's why I have such belief in them.
Speaker 5 (47:21):
Man until he shows me otherwise, I'm gonna roll with
the man that has been able to pull this franchise
from the fucking cellar to where they are now.
Speaker 3 (47:29):
So I'm cool, I'm chilling. I believe in him too,
and I love the guy. You know that. I'm first
on the board. But again, I rewatched the second quarter yesterday.
I was that planning fitness on the bike and I
had it on, I had my headphones on, and I
watched us drive down the field towards the two minute warning.
Did you cry?
Speaker 10 (47:49):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (47:50):
And we just couldn't do anything. Green Bay just imposed
their will on us. They the offensive line was pushed back.
There was no nothing. So then Green Bay gets the
ball back and Tony Romo is like, hey, they stopped
him on first down. The Lions should call time out.
They should have the old Lions. That's a time out
(48:14):
with a minute and fifty to go, you're there, way
back on the ten yard line. Our own ten called
time out. But no, he just wanted to get the
hell out of that half. And that's what scares me.
Speaker 2 (48:26):
It's an exception to the rule.
Speaker 3 (48:28):
Okay it is, Mike, would you agree with that?
Speaker 2 (48:30):
Are you saying that's a whole so far?
Speaker 3 (48:34):
I'll say, maybe an exception to these it is? If no,
I didn't say soft he was scared.
Speaker 2 (48:40):
I listen, Hey, KG, can we say this?
Speaker 5 (48:43):
Though?
Speaker 2 (48:44):
I think there's more validity in Mass's point than any
of us want to admit. What was the biggest cool
things last year the last couple of years about DC
is it's getting that late score. Yeah, to flip the
game and then getting the ball back in the third, Yeah,
for sure, like that. That's something like that. That's just
it's mad.
Speaker 3 (49:00):
They just don't think the situation called for it.
Speaker 2 (49:01):
No, and I agree, but but I don't mind somebody's
brain going there, going, well, what happened? But right now, Maz,
it is an exception to the rule that's undeniable. If
we see it next week and against Baltimore, then all
of a sudden, you're like, oh, well this is It's
almost like we have the conversations about the Big Ten,
right Okay, we're getting back to the point where Big
ten football fans are going like this, sticking their chest out.
(49:23):
We're the best in the in the nature. We now
were the best com delusionally for twenty people. For twenty
plus years, people would argue.
Speaker 3 (49:31):
That around here.
Speaker 2 (49:31):
Okay, but now we're back there. Okay, right now, right now,
it is an exception even at two. Correct, If you
do it again this year, we're having that conversation. I'm
gonna I'm gonna get on the phone with fucking fine
bomb himself And you can excuse it, bro. After a
year or two, when it's three in a row, and
especially when you're seeing Big ten teams knock off the
(49:53):
sec we gotta have an adult conversation, right And I
know we haven't had a lot of adult conversations because
I see you people talking about Wonder Woman and Batwoman
and you. I'm sorry, I did it you and I
dropped you people. Bat girl bat, I'd make girl woman.
Speaker 3 (50:11):
By the time. That's Barbara Gordon you're talking about.
Speaker 2 (50:15):
All right, that's okay, Commissioner Gordon's daughter, that's all right,
Librarian DC on the old line. By the way, can
I just say say, do you know what's really like?
This is the cool thing about having? So you got
Georgia Tennessee Saturday afternoon and then nd Texas A and
I'm on Saturday night.
Speaker 3 (50:34):
Nice, they're off, it's Tennessee home.
Speaker 2 (50:38):
I won't I think it's at Tennessee. I won't be
home until halftime of that game because I had my
own broadcast. But it'll be a pantless Saturday night.
Speaker 3 (50:45):
Nice.
Speaker 2 (50:46):
Yeah, I feel the need to tell you guys that.
Speaker 3 (50:48):
I don't know. Yeah, it's gonna be in the base
of the living room, the living room.
Speaker 2 (50:52):
Yeah yeah, yeah, Hey, guys, I wouldn't come in the
front room if I were you. Daddy your pants off again?
Speaker 15 (51:00):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (51:00):
DC on the old one.
Speaker 6 (51:03):
How imperative is it to get decko because it seems
like everything starts with.
Speaker 3 (51:06):
Your running game.
Speaker 14 (51:07):
Oh yeah, definitely, But we will, I mean, we will
we're gonna be out there today. Man, we're going to
address it head on. We talked about and walk through
the focus, the footwork, the little things. Uh, and and
we're going to make sure that we established that today
day one in practice and that we're on point with
our footwork and our have placement all the little things. Man,
where ideed correctly. We're coming off the ball, you know,
(51:31):
and uh or not, we'll do it again and we'll
get it right. We'll get it right. We'll get it right,
and uh, we are going to be much better. We
will be much better.
Speaker 2 (51:39):
I don't have a clock, but I can tell you
definitively we're really late. So a lot of lion stuff
coming up. Make no mistake about that. We're going to
hear from Uh. You mentioned Taylor Decker. Uh, I'm on
Ross Saint Brown. I thought had a fantastic take.
Speaker 16 (51:55):
It.
Speaker 2 (51:56):
It's it's common sense. Sometimes it really is as simple
as as wait, you mean you have to give these
guys a little period of adjustment.
Speaker 16 (52:05):
Huh.
Speaker 2 (52:05):
Uh Ari had a great take that sounds familiar, like
said man said this to me, and I was like,
I've heard that somewhere before as well. Where are we going.
JB can from as well.
Speaker 3 (52:19):
About now, stop bitching.
Speaker 2 (52:22):
He's gonna block you. He's gonna block you. Does he
follow you, if he follows, if he follows any all,
you're gonna get blocked. Like somehow it gets back to him.
And I'm convinced the reason I got blocked is because
I had the audacity to tell the truth. You stopped
a guy's leg, man, like it happened. Like, I still
(52:43):
love you. You're you're a phenomenal football player. But I'm
not going to say that that was an accident. Sorry,
Please don't beat me up. You can hear the ship
out of me. Man. If I see him walking through
that door, I'm jumping out the window. What are you
gonna say now?
Speaker 3 (53:03):
He said, look at you like Evan Ditrich Smith. Stop
on you man, I know I am.
Speaker 2 (53:07):
Out that door. Marryan, Where are you all right? Where
are we going?
Speaker 3 (53:12):
JB?
Speaker 4 (53:13):
We gotta hear from less than for and Sharon's heating
and cool and but first a couple of super chests
and clear up one nine night, one ninety nine from
our guy freddie Felt. He said, Sean is going home
and dustin Office DVD DVD VHS.
Speaker 3 (53:29):
Yes, right, I still have the split. I still have
the two things d slash v vhs.
Speaker 2 (53:36):
I'm so depressing though, to your point, Freddy, like when
when the kids were do you know how many useless
DVDs we have at home because of the kids. Like
if I showed you the next time, you're all over
my house, like it's this.
Speaker 3 (53:49):
I had a garage sale. There are so many DVDs.
It's incredible sales.
Speaker 4 (53:54):
If you guys don't want to see my DVD collection,
trust me.
Speaker 3 (53:56):
This Girl's Gone Wild. Yeah not not though, actual you
want to girls who wanted Girls Gone Wild in this room?
It's too I was. I was worried back then they
would get in to it.
Speaker 4 (54:14):
Oh girls, okay, boobies. Wow, I'm not gonna lie. I
did want to order one, but I never did.
Speaker 2 (54:20):
I did, I would like, I like, I would like
the fresh Room Fowlerville series. Marianne comes to the Big.
Speaker 3 (54:28):
Man to get excited to say here that little Ukulele
Girls Gone Wild, Girls Gone Wild?
Speaker 4 (54:35):
New Orleans, can Coon Atlanta, Marty Growl.
Speaker 3 (54:42):
I stayed up late. I'm sorry. I was up at
three in the morning. I had no choice, man, there
was something else on that three in the morning. Cage
skinner backs.
Speaker 4 (54:52):
Oh yeah, oh man, we got ten dollars from tam saw.
Speaker 3 (55:00):
It was a good one.
Speaker 4 (55:01):
I remember last year when we lost to the Bucks
then barely beat a middling Cardinals team. Yep, the week
after nothing, I know, golf caught a touchdown week four
as it was a gangbuster from there on.
Speaker 3 (55:12):
You're right, Tap Sauce, good job.
Speaker 2 (55:14):
I think people forget all right that Monday after the
Tampa game. Do you know how many it's over things
we all had to deal with? That was an ugly lost.
That fourth quarter in particular offensively was offensive. Yeah, people short,
but we all knew this was gonna happen. We've been
(55:35):
talking about it for months on this this is going
to be a miserable season because we're not going fifteen
to two, and we are gonna be besieged with people
that are not like you, Tep Sauce, that go, that's it. Okay,
that's it, that's it. Do you know how many that's
it moments we're gonna have this year? Probably five, because
they're gonna go twelve and five and I firmly believe that. Yeah,
(55:55):
good call, Tap.
Speaker 4 (55:56):
And finally one more before we get to break five
dollars burn. He sends in, say, the worst happens, I mean,
lose this week. But we beat the Ravens and are.
Speaker 3 (56:05):
One and two.
Speaker 4 (56:06):
We still be one and two?
Speaker 3 (56:07):
How are we feeling? I want to be two and
one obviously, I mean I'd be cool with that.
Speaker 2 (56:13):
It wouldn't be ideal, but i'd be okay, it would
it would okay, you can't go oh and three like
one and two is still one and two. Like I
get the point that he's making, But look who you beat?
Speaker 16 (56:22):
You?
Speaker 2 (56:23):
Right, That's that's where I'm That's that's where I'm at.
If if you if you come back after oh and
two to two losses to divisional rivals, which is a dagger,
don't get me wrong, but you beat the Ravens, all
of a sudden, you're sitting back feeling a lot better
of yourself. If the reverse happens, If the reverse happens
and you beat the Bears and then get pounded by
(56:44):
the Ravens, do you know what we're gonna be besieged with?
This isn't this isn't a championship.
Speaker 3 (56:51):
What happened?
Speaker 2 (56:52):
What you you guys lost to Washington last year? You lost?
You lost you got pummeled by Buffalo last year. You
know this isn't a championship team. That's that's the ship
we're gonna hear.
Speaker 3 (57:03):
Yeah, you noticed we won't even make the playoffs. We
won't win the division and we won't make the playoffs.
Those three losses, but the three unbelievably great quarterbacks that
he just brought up in three games.
Speaker 2 (57:14):
It's all fraud right where I mean? The Lions are fraud.
I knew this team wasn't good. You're gonna hear all
that ship. So how about to your point, burn, how
about funk that we win both those games? I'm I'm in.
Speaker 3 (57:27):
I'm cool with that. Let's go.
Speaker 2 (57:29):
But your point one and two is still one and two? Right,
I didn't you know what, I don't want to lose
two games in the division.
Speaker 3 (57:37):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (57:37):
I don't want to lose two games.
Speaker 4 (57:38):
And who's to say, akay sweet division after that?
Speaker 2 (57:41):
So yeah, wouldn't that be funny?
Speaker 3 (57:44):
Yeah? I didn't.
Speaker 2 (57:47):
Including including two over would let that we got a
two games on your.
Speaker 3 (57:55):
Little viking cheeks?
Speaker 4 (57:56):

I know JB's really good about reading all that. But
you know, Mas, you talked about it Taylor Decker right now,
he's dealing with a little something, and he's dealing with
(01:04:47):
a fan base that, in my humble opinion, while I
understand it because we've been waiting so long, I think
we've been irrational based on week one. We can't help it,
Taylor Decker, the naysayers.
Speaker 12 (01:05:01):
I'm not gonna I'm not gonna sit here and be like,
oh my god, the world's falling because the media is
saying bad stuff about me.
Speaker 3 (01:05:08):
No, I remember those days.
Speaker 12 (01:05:09):
I remember when people would joke about us and allow
on us, and then all as it takes, even though
we've been winning over the years, is one off week
and then all of a sudden, words.
Speaker 3 (01:05:18):
Is gonna get shit on again.
Speaker 4 (01:05:19):
So but I remember that.
Speaker 12 (01:05:21):
So I'm not gonna get too high or too low
based on public like national media.
Speaker 8 (01:05:28):
Like it's crazy.
Speaker 2 (01:05:29):
Do you understand the logicality's saying this is like the
conversation Mas and I had ten minutes ago, and I
get it, Like Maz is an emotional creature.
Speaker 3 (01:05:36):
I get it.
Speaker 2 (01:05:37):
That's part of what makes man's mas. But it's a
bad week, that's it.
Speaker 3 (01:05:42):
But you shouldn't have had it.
Speaker 2 (01:05:44):
It's a bad week. But no, but it's week one,
it's it's a bad even better it's a bad. Does
it make it better if it's week two?
Speaker 3 (01:05:51):
Yeah? I think it does it? Did?
Speaker 2 (01:05:54):
Do you really think it's?
Speaker 8 (01:05:55):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (01:05:55):
Yes?
Speaker 5 (01:05:56):
If we get a wining Green band and they had
a clunker to the Bears, it wouldn't be it.
Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
You guys, you guys. I remember the Monday after that
Tampa loss, though, yeah, I don't think anybody was feeling
that way that day. We can say that today. Oh
was that that game on September eleventh, twenty twenty six
week and go oh yeah, so much better. Listen, I
was laughing. I didn't work that day, so I watch
a lot of the shows. I was laughing at some
of the shit that was out there, laughing, I get it.
(01:06:22):
And as ugly as that was, and it hurts more
because it's in the division. Let's be honest, it does,
right it Like what Taylor did, It's a week. If
it turns into two weeks and against another divisional opponent,
like I said, we'll have that conversation.
Speaker 3 (01:06:36):
We will spreads up to six and a half guys,
just so you know they're gonna run them. It's looking good,
they're gonna run them.
Speaker 2 (01:06:42):
Decker says we are all to blame for the O
line miscues as well, that that that's something that it's
a unit.
Speaker 5 (01:06:49):
They talk about, right, Yeah, and say what you want
about the rookies. Yes, they did not play well. It
was bad across the board. I saw Penny Sewel give
me a couple times in that game. So I think
the offensive line as a whole needs to come together,
and the communication just needs to be a tag bit better,
because when I look at this thing, that's what I see.
The communication just was not there. That's probably the biggest
(01:07:12):
issue that they had passing the KG.
Speaker 2 (01:07:15):
You know that that I said it every day this week,
and I'll make it four for four. You cannot put
a price tag on the intelligence and the communication of
a center.
Speaker 8 (01:07:26):
You can't.
Speaker 2 (01:07:26):
And I'm not saying that that that Graham Glasgow can't
get it done or Tate Ratlie can't eventually get it done.
I'm not saying that far from it, but that guy
is sitting there pointing out assignments, talking about alignments given
everybody else direction, and that was a huge reason why
this line was one of the best lines in the league. Fact,
you just don't replace that.
Speaker 3 (01:07:45):
Detroit Gunny on the chat says it would have been
the end of the world, as if the Lions beat
the Packers and lost to bj and the Bears the
following week. So there's people out there, I think.
Speaker 2 (01:07:54):
Believe to your point, I think it would have been worse. Yeah,
especially to Ben.
Speaker 3 (01:08:00):
I get it.
Speaker 4 (01:08:01):
What what are you happy?
Speaker 2 (01:08:03):
They're reported right already?
Speaker 3 (01:08:06):
He's better than you whole time.
Speaker 12 (01:08:08):
There is.
Speaker 3 (01:08:10):
Hey Ben DC, Ben and aging three so far.
Speaker 2 (01:08:16):
I don't know if people there's there's a there's in
the National Football League. It's a seventeen game schedule.
Speaker 3 (01:08:24):
Did you know that? I didn't.
Speaker 2 (01:08:27):
Let me get Let's just play. Let's say let's say
after five weeks you're two and three, and let's say
there's a team in the division that let's even go
five and oh, but you have two games against them yet, right,
and they're telling everybody this is their year, even though
they haven't beat you in years. They're telling every if
(01:08:49):
you beat them twice, if you beat them twice, you're
only one game behind them.
Speaker 4 (01:08:54):
What it's a true story, You're fucking.
Speaker 3 (01:09:01):
Stop.
Speaker 2 (01:09:02):
It's really just that spartan ship, all right, Uh, Decker,
I what it means to be facing whose name I
dare not mention? I mean, I don't.
Speaker 12 (01:09:17):
I don't have a matchup with Ben and does he's
not doing anything to me?
Speaker 8 (01:09:22):
Yeah, I mean, I think.
Speaker 12 (01:09:25):
I think media is going to read a lot more
into that than any of us are, because, like I said,
I'm not playing against him.
Speaker 3 (01:09:32):
He's he's calling the offense.
Speaker 12 (01:09:34):
He's not game planning against me, so like Dennis Allen's
game planning against us. So I mean, I'm sure he'll
have his input, but.
Speaker 8 (01:09:43):
It's whatever.
Speaker 3 (01:09:44):
Yeah, it's whatever. Seriously, I don't, I don't. I don't
believe it. I don't. I don't believe him. Why not?
Because they want to beat the ship out of Ben Johnson.
Speaker 2 (01:09:58):
Well that's why I think that. I think that's the
unmentioned though, I don't think. To me, I almost got
the impression to your point, man, is that he's like
I want to beat him like I beat everybody else, Right,
and that's that's like I'm sorry. That's why I've said
it since day one.
Speaker 3 (01:10:13):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:10:14):
Like you were a part of the renaissance of the
Detroit Lions. You really were, and and and now you
are my enemy of enemies.
Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
Do you have a problem with that?
Speaker 9 (01:10:25):
Like?
Speaker 2 (01:10:25):
No, Like, like how could anybody have a problem with that?
It's so like you're a bear, like you're the face
of the bears. No, I don't wish you luck. I
wish you misery and pestilence and famine. Like I'm like, no,
that's that. And I hope that the Lions bring the
(01:10:46):
four horsemen of the apocalypse with them this weekend. And
there is kage. The word of the week is a reckoning. Yeah,
I want a reckoning shout out David Montgomery Jesus Pete
Penny talking about the offensive line.
Speaker 8 (01:11:02):
Poor.
Speaker 15 (01:11:03):
It's, if I put it in a summary, poor played
by by our standard, and it's a it's an emphasizer
and an urgency.
Speaker 3 (01:11:12):
To get better. So that's what we're working on.
Speaker 15 (01:11:13):
Yeah, I mean, uh again this week one with a
new team. Again, we got young guys in uh part
of the five upfront and but the other three we
know what it looks like and it's our job to
bring bring along the other two.
Speaker 3 (01:11:27):
I feel like they get it. They can come along
pretty quickly here. Oh yeah, without a doubt.
Speaker 15 (01:11:31):
I mean again, they've been Christian has been in the
room with Frank and uh and the other vets. So
now it's just take you know what I mean, And
he's getting it day by day.
Speaker 2 (01:11:42):
Shout out to Brad Galley for that. Brad always do
a tremendous job over at Channel seven. You guys, I
don't know. Again, I'm not going to speak to all
four of you. This is more to you Mas, because
I think JB without putting Moords in your mouth, I
think Mas is at a different level of fear than
than us.
Speaker 8 (01:12:01):
Unlikely.
Speaker 2 (01:12:01):
Ye, Does it make you feel any better to hear
these guys talk the way they do? Like the guys
just isn't a big deal? Does it make you feel
any better?
Speaker 15 (01:12:09):
No?
Speaker 2 (01:12:10):
No, I tried, I No, really, I tried.
Speaker 3 (01:12:14):
There's still two people that we really don't know much about.
Uh taits a rookie. It's gonna take him a while.
Mahogany was a seventh or sixth round draft pick.
Speaker 2 (01:12:24):
I think somebody said, I think somebody said it might
take these guys a little bit.
Speaker 3 (01:12:28):
It's gonna take a while. Jared gob says it takes
three to four games for the offense to get going. Uh,
I don't know, man, it's a new offensive coordinator, so
the line. I know it's Hank Frayley, but the OC
has got Hank Frayley's ear as well, so it's a
different it's a different vibe on this team right now.
It is, And like Sean has been saying in preaching,
(01:12:49):
it took the Eagles four weeks to get rolling last year,
at least four weeks, so sixth last I'm cool. I
just really hate on Sunday. Listen.
Speaker 2 (01:13:02):
I swear to you right now. When the Lions go
on the proverbial seven game win streak later this season,
I'm not going to mock any of you guys.
Speaker 3 (01:13:08):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:13:09):
No, I'm serious, I'm not I want them to do that.
Speaker 3 (01:13:12):
I know that.
Speaker 2 (01:13:13):
I know I'm being serious. I know I'm a swarmy,
sarcastic person. Sometimes No, I'm being I get it, like
like there's a level of frustration right now because again,
I I it's such a cheesy statement, but the streaks
have never been higher like, that's where we're at as
a franchise. That's it that your pass fail is did
you win the Super Bowl? Why are in?
Speaker 8 (01:13:34):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:13:35):
That's it matter how you get there.
Speaker 2 (01:13:37):
Yeh, I couldn't get The Chiefs have made it ugly.
How many times have we talked, let me be the Giants,
Let me get in on the last day of the
year at ten and seven is a wild card and
and make my bread come playoff time. I don't care.
Do you know what people don't do?
Speaker 15 (01:13:54):
You know what?
Speaker 2 (01:13:54):
They remember? Super Bowl champion. That's all they remember.
Speaker 3 (01:13:57):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (01:13:57):
That's it.
Speaker 3 (01:13:57):
That's a fact.
Speaker 2 (01:13:58):
That's it. That's all they remember.
Speaker 3 (01:14:00):
I don't remember anything about that Giant season except them
beating the Patriots. That's why you got it.
Speaker 5 (01:14:05):
Every game is in a vacuum. You can't live and
die on every single play. Of course, we want this
team to play better, but we know what they're capable of.
Speaker 3 (01:14:12):
We do obviously. That game in Lambeau was something too. Well.
Tom Kaufler got a throst bite. That was amazing. Remember
remember what he looked like.
Speaker 2 (01:14:24):
Cambell's red nose? Yes, right, Yeah, that's that's hysterical, all right.
Jared Goff says, we got a little chip on our shoulders.
Speaker 3 (01:14:34):
Everyone does.
Speaker 18 (01:14:34):
I don't think it's just time.
Speaker 3 (01:14:35):
I think it's not.
Speaker 18 (01:14:36):
I think it's Alliance myself, it's our receivers. I think
we were very straightforward and honest with ourselves about the
reality of what what we did and didn't do last
week and how we need to get better. And I think,
you know, I expect USC a lot better this week
and today it started and tomorrow will continue and just
continue to improve.
Speaker 2 (01:14:54):
See they're all professionals, But do you know what tone
that's a shout out to you? KG you getting from
all these guys.
Speaker 3 (01:15:00):
I'm alone.
Speaker 2 (01:15:01):
Yeah, I'm getting the tone we can't wait to flip
you all off. And we know, guys, that's the time
we fucking know we can't.
Speaker 3 (01:15:08):
We like maybe maybe the gut embarrassed and maybe he
pays off.
Speaker 2 (01:15:14):
I'm on raw St Brown, I thought this was outstanding.
Can we play this?
Speaker 13 (01:15:19):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:15:20):
JB?
Speaker 2 (01:15:21):
I thought this was outstanding. I think this is this guy.
What's your not the love about this guy? He just
seems like a good dude and I think he's really
well thought out. Here's a'm on raw on the criticism
of the new coordinators.
Speaker 16 (01:15:35):
I mean when banfordt started, it wasn't you know, it
wasn't all glitz and glamor to start with. He was
he built, you know, built what he what we ended
up doing last year. So I feel like the new
coordinators that we have are just fine guys that are
saying fire so and so it's like, bro, it's a
week one, Like we took a loss. Are you over
here telling the Chiefs to fire whoever? Their offensive coordinators
(01:15:58):
are their defensive coordinators? Like they obviously wanted to win
the everyone wants to win Week one, but you're at Lambeau.
They're a good team. Also, they prepared to they get paid. Also,
environment was crazy, they were loud. But I think it's
good for us. And obviously you don't want to lose,
but I think it's a lost this early is going
to be good for our team. You know, last year
we lost Week two versus the Bucks, which was which
was good for us. The year before that we lost
(01:16:20):
I believe week two again. So we mostly started one
on one since I've been here, But getting a loss
earlier I think wakes wakes a team up and lets
everyone know, like you got to be on your shit
in this league, because you can lose any given weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
Now, hold on a second, are you insinuating, I'm on
rah that he whose name I did not mention, did
not come in immediately and spread his pixie dust all
over the place and immediately make everything better.
Speaker 3 (01:16:50):
I think that's what he's saying. You aren't. You aren't.
Speaker 2 (01:16:53):
Next you'll tell me that Chris fetters magic pixie dust
doesn't work, because surely all he has to do is
sprinkle his magic, and Chris Pattic will go, Hey, I'm
a really bad pitcher, but I'm not anymore.
Speaker 3 (01:17:09):
Right that I'm a reliever.
Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
Now, can listen common sense. You can say whatever you want,
but that's common sense. I'm gonna I'm gonna fall back
on common sense and again exception to a greater overall rule.
Speaker 3 (01:17:24):
Yes, the Lions have started one and one in all
his seasons. Yes, Yes, they have never lost like they
did on Sunday, Kenny, Kenny. They looked like dog crap.
Speaker 2 (01:17:37):
They've had a clunker like this.
Speaker 3 (01:17:39):
Everything not in the first two games.
Speaker 2 (01:17:42):
Tampa game was awful last year.
Speaker 3 (01:17:44):
I think it was better than this game.
Speaker 2 (01:17:46):
It was and it was at home. It was at home.
That was awful. That was an awful game last year.
It was just admit it, it was.
Speaker 3 (01:17:54):
It really was.
Speaker 2 (01:17:54):
It was an awful and I think the worst party.
Speaker 3 (01:17:56):
Remember they doubled their yards and they doubled the Tampa's
yards that game.
Speaker 2 (01:18:01):
And that's what bothers me the most because Tampa said
twice in the fourth quarter, we don't want this game.
Speaker 3 (01:18:06):
Take yeah, yeah, here you go.
Speaker 2 (01:18:08):
You're you're in lyon time at home. Take this game here.
Oh you didn't score on the last one.
Speaker 4 (01:18:14):
Here we're gonna give you.
Speaker 8 (01:18:15):
The ball back.
Speaker 2 (01:18:15):
Yeah, here you go, go score, here you go. And
and that's what pissed me off the most, like Tampa's
basically said through their actions, we don't want this game.
So yes, it was awful.
Speaker 3 (01:18:25):
It really was.
Speaker 2 (01:18:27):
There's no sugarcoating what happened in lambeau Field.
Speaker 3 (01:18:30):
It's a game.
Speaker 4 (01:18:31):
It's one game, all right, osre Okay, No, do you.
Speaker 2 (01:18:37):
Know what listen, do you know what the common denominator
is today? And I'm so serious and you Michigan fans
are going through this right now. Okay, everybody wants it now, Okay,
freshman quarterbacks are not going to come in and light
it up sorry, they're gonna They're right most of the time,
exceptions to the rules, right like there, it's gonna take time.
(01:18:59):
That doesn't mean that you don't believe in him, right, JB.
You and I went through this last year. I heard
Aiden childs this, Aiden Child's that. Okay, when you're three,
four or five games in and the same shit keeps happening,
you are well within your right to question this guy.
And even even in that game nice one against BC,
No way you did it. But you know what, I
(01:19:20):
am well with him. I right to say. I'm glad
it worked against BC, but you cannot continuously miss guys
down the field like you miss guys down the field.
You're going to lose to Michigan. You are going to
lose to Indiana. You are going to lose to UCLA.
You are going you like go on and on and
on and on. I'm glad it worked there, so people
want it now. Okay, let's wait until a little you know,
(01:19:43):
sample size is there. Let this team settle in right
that they probably aren't settled in just yet. Do you
want to do this ari thing now before we get
to Alexi? Do we have enough time?
Speaker 3 (01:19:53):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:19:54):
We got because I don't have my phone, so I
don't know what time it is. Are you good comments?
So Man sent this to us yesterday. Give Ari a listen.
Speaker 13 (01:20:05):
They were always going to face challenges this year because
of how much they lost. I mean, it just it
blew me away. It wasn't more of a talking point
throughout the offseason and training camp in preseason. I mean,
first of all, just the coaching staff, Like we know
Ben Jonson is the head coach in Chicago. We know
Aaron glenn is that the head coach with the Jets now.
Speaker 3 (01:20:24):
But it was not just them.
Speaker 13 (01:20:26):
I mean Terrell Williams is now the defensive coordinator with
the Patriots. Steve Hayden is now the Jets offensive line coach. J. T.
Barrett is now the quarterbacks coach in Chicago. Antoine Rendolel
is now the receivers coach and assistant head coach in Chicago.
Tanner Inkstrant is now the Jets offensive coordinator. Cameron Davis
is now an assistant coach with the New York Jets.
(01:20:47):
That is eight coaches who were on the staff last
year who are now somewhere else. That is not something
you replaced in one day all of a sudden and
everything will be okay.
Speaker 2 (01:20:56):
And it wasn't just that.
Speaker 13 (01:20:57):
We know, Frank Ragnew, one of the best centers of
football retired. He was the guy who was calling out
the Blitzes. He's no longer there. Kevin Zeiler, who was
really good last year, he left as a free agent
and is now in Tennessee. They lost so many people,
I mean, it's not so simple to replace all that.
And yes, I know they have all these incredible players,
Ama Rossain Brown, Jamier Gibbs, David Montgomery, Jared Goff, go
(01:21:19):
on and on, Jameson Williams, Like there's great players, pretty
souls on the offensive line, Like there are outstanding players,
for sure. But to just expect everything to go smooth
sailing and it would all be roses and nice, that
was always unrealistic to me. I know, they played the
Packers at lambeau Field and the crowd was going crazy
or was Micah Parson's first game and maybe, you know,
(01:21:42):
it was just that and they'll be fine moving forward. Maybe,
But the entire offseason, like we spoke about it a
bunch of different things during the off season during our
daily episodes, I kept on mentioning this and It did
not fully surprise me that they were not the same
old Lions, like they literally were bullied on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (01:21:58):
I was not used to that.
Speaker 13 (01:22:00):
It was a crazy stat that I saw javiir Gibbs
had ten catches in this game for thirty three yards.
No player in the history of the NFL has ever
had double digit catches with that few yards.
Speaker 2 (01:22:11):
I mean, that's how that.
Speaker 13 (01:22:12):
It was like they had no creativit offense, no imagination
on offense. And that is not the Detroit Live that
all of us are used to.
Speaker 2 (01:22:22):
Okay, Ari, with all due respect, when when I hear
somebody say I'm surprised nobody was talking about this, I
take great offense at that because I've been talking about
that for months, whether it be on this show, whether
it be on Big D Energy, or whether it be
sitting in with Broder and Terry. Okay, and you know what,
around here, people don't want to hear it because you
(01:22:44):
know what they want to hear. Everything is awesome, Everything's
gonna be okay. We're just everything, and I believe it's
eventually gonna be okay. All right, But I know KG,
you and I have had a lot of heart to
hearts about this on the air, okay, and man's I
know you've this was going to be miserable regular season. Hey,
it was always gonna be always always, this is going
(01:23:05):
to be. We are going to be a miserable twelve
and five NFC North champion.
Speaker 3 (01:23:10):
I'm Dave won't be miserable to me.
Speaker 2 (01:23:12):
Five times this year. We are gonna hear people get
to the edge of a ledge and go, this isn't
I'm jumping off five times. We're gonna do that, which
is over double we had to deal with in last year, right, Yeah,
but we're gonna have to deal with it.
Speaker 4 (01:23:25):
I'm cool.
Speaker 2 (01:23:26):
You guys were not the same. We are. We are
not the same as.
Speaker 4 (01:23:30):
Long as we get to where we gotta go.
Speaker 5 (01:23:31):
And I think already provided just a little more insight
into how much we lost, because yeah, we are the
offensive defensive coordinator and Frank rag Now that's all we
really account for. They lost a lot of coaches, eight
coaching staff, and they had one of the best staffs,
arguably the best staff.
Speaker 3 (01:23:47):
In all of football. So those losses aren't small losses
at all.
Speaker 2 (01:23:51):
Nobody wants to hear it in the offseason, though, because
you know, what again. You know what people do and
I always, I've always laughed at the term hater. Okay.
I love when somebody in the chat throws the word
hater out there. Okay, it's so stupid, Like, no, do
you know what I hate? I hate being a slaptick
(01:24:12):
and not looking at things for the way that they
really are. Okay. I hate that people tried to tell
me that losing one of the best centers in the
game didn't mean anything. That is a real thing that happened.
Like the day that it happened, we were on the air,
we were doing a show, and I had people jump
all over me because I said, one of the best
centers in the game just left. Okay, we all agree,
(01:24:34):
one of the best centers of the game. We've all
been saying that for the past year. And now you're
telling me that doesn't mean anything. Well, sorry, and Maz
this is for you. That's batshit crazy. It is, like,
I'm sorry. Yes, there's gonna be a period of adjustment,
all right, and that's why this year was gonna be
different than last year, and I think even different from
(01:24:55):
the year before, from twenty twenty three. But the most
important thing is January and February.
Speaker 3 (01:25:02):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (01:25:03):
Like, but it's so far away, Mass, there's the fast forward?
Can I fast forward?
Speaker 3 (01:25:07):
It's so far away. It's all about the journey, Mass,
I hate the journey.
Speaker 4 (01:25:11):
We might look we might.
Speaker 5 (01:25:12):
Look back at this week one and laugh because listen,
depending on how the season plays out, we will probably
look back.
Speaker 3 (01:25:18):
At week one and damn, look at us man. We
was overreacting, like can I git it? I can't wait?
I hope, so can I give you?
Speaker 8 (01:25:24):
Like?
Speaker 2 (01:25:24):
Green Bay comes in here on Thanksgiving? Okay, and they
they do to Green Bay what they started to do
to the Bears last year. That first half was just
a curb stomping. It really was. But you finish it.
You you beat You beat the Packers thirty eight to fourteen. Okay.
(01:25:46):
All my guests that come over, because you know I
have a crapload of people, they all left my house
because I have no pants on. All right, I'm not
in the mood to eat. You've hit You cannot serve
turkey with your pants off? Oh yes I can.
Speaker 3 (01:25:57):
Why do you serve by the way, I'll cut the
turkey with on things? Don't make me.
Speaker 2 (01:26:09):
I serve three things on Thanksgiving? I either a prime
rib or a tenderloin, one or the other. I do
a traditional turkey about fifteen pounds, and I do the
Cajun turkey, which is usually the twenty one pound and
it's what the strangest thing I'm telling you, and I'll
take pictures of it to prove you, guys, okay, like seriously,
(01:26:30):
the traditional turkey is pretty much untouched until the Cajun
turkey is just picked apart for sure, and then people go, well,
I'm gonna go and listen. I still love my traditional turkey.
I do, I still, but the Cajun turkey is just
it just is.
Speaker 4 (01:26:48):
And do you you don't try out your turkey?
Speaker 3 (01:26:50):
I know you better than that.
Speaker 2 (01:26:52):
Hell no, I gotta. I give it a sixty hour nap.
They say you're not supposed to do more than forty eight,
and I say, fuck that. It's it's in my it's
in a brine Monday night, in a brine Monday night
with the sled, like literally, we have a long kids sled.
I put the sled on top of the two buckets
the traditional turkeys in there, and then the Cajun turkeys
(01:27:14):
are so and so like last year when Neil and
I did the were you in with us? I don't
remember last year Thanksgiving? Think okay, when I had to
race straight home. And then that's when I have to
do all my special stuff. So what I do with
the cajun and I get under the skin, I put
the butter in there and put some more extra cajun
up there and all that, and then I take the
injector and I inject. I inject each breast, I inject
(01:27:37):
each wing. I inject eat strunk. You'll never eat a
dry turkey again. Never, It'll never happen.
Speaker 3 (01:27:43):
Well, we're Sports Food Network. I'm just saying, when do
you serve your dinner? Oh, it's it's after the line, okay,
after Lions and during the Cowboy game.
Speaker 2 (01:27:52):
No, I you know, I have to time it perfectly.
The Lion game's over. We start the serving process about
four fifteen. Kickoff comes in four thirty. Because then at
that point in time, I want to get in front
of the TV, so like I can sit there with
the table and act like okay, isn't this great family?
Speaker 3 (01:28:08):
Okay? Games on later, so that's kind of gotcha.
Speaker 2 (01:28:11):
But it's one of those things, like like Christmas even
thinks everybody kind of ends up at my house and
it's I'm not complaining.
Speaker 3 (01:28:17):
I like it.
Speaker 2 (01:28:17):
I like the right, I like the gun. That's like, honestly,
my kid says it. Jack says it all the time. Dad,
Can you do a Cajun Turkey? And I was like,
if you really want me to do one, I will,
But doesn't it kind of take away from from like
Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve? And he's like, no, you're right,
because then I do another one on Christmas Eve?
Speaker 3 (01:28:38):
Can we do it like one in October?
Speaker 2 (01:28:39):
Maybe I could do one and I'd bring it in. Yeah,
I have no problem with I'd bring it in.
Speaker 3 (01:28:46):
I had a good turkey, wasn't that.
Speaker 8 (01:28:49):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:28:50):
The kid do a reverse here.
Speaker 3 (01:28:53):
People don't get it.
Speaker 2 (01:28:54):
Do a reverse here.
Speaker 8 (01:28:55):
It's so good.
Speaker 2 (01:28:56):
It's so good. All right, Alex's coming up, the skinny butcher.
He is the Woodward Sports you have m beat reporter.
I'm looking ahead to this game against Central Michigan JB.
I know we're up against it because I don't have
a watch or clock, but I know we just went
on an incredible rant. So I apologize for that.
Speaker 3 (01:29:16):
Where are we going?
Speaker 4 (01:29:17):
You're all good? We need to hear from Jack's Carwash
and Sun Cruisers. But first, let me clear up these
super chats. Shout out to everyone sending them. Man two
from Burn, we got one. That's five dollars, he said.
Remember twenty thirteen Lions started five and three. We blew
the Packers and Matt plan out forty to ten, sacked
them seven times, lost the division to a eight seven

Hey, Lyddy, listen. Buddies is the original. They invented Detroit

about Detroit style pizza. It's Buddies, That's what they're talking about.
They created the category and have been serving it since
nineteen forty six. They got twenty two locations all over town.
There's a Buddy somewhere near you. They've been here for

no joke. Last Sunday Packers game, three o'clock in the afternoon,
I called my Buddies. I used that ten percent promo

All right, really appreciate this young fella for joining us.
(01:35:20):
Does a fantastic job. It is Wolverine Thursday, brought to
you by the Skinny Butcher. Let's welcome in Alex Z
the Woodword Sports Network. You have been beat writer and
Alex we were just talking about this in Lion Fans
needing to take a deep breath. It doesn't happen overnight.
(01:35:41):
It is amazing how many times I've seen somebody say
something along the lines of oh about this Bryce Underwood guy.
It's like he's a freshman man came down. How are
you body kidding?
Speaker 19 (01:35:53):
I'm doing great.
Speaker 9 (01:35:54):
You know, weather's great seasons in full swings, so we're
doing good. And yeah, like to your pointbut Bryce Underwood
before the New Mexico game, the last real game of football.
We saw Bryce Underwood play was against Detroit Catholic Central,
all right, so there's gonna be some time for him
to grow and adjust to the sport of Division one
college football.
Speaker 3 (01:36:12):
No doubt about it, Alex. But you know what I
heard so much about this kid. He costs so much
money to keep him out at LSU. Why the hell
did you let him throw nine passes? That's when he
had nine to twenty four for less than two hundred yards.
The game plan was horrible. It looks like they don't
(01:36:35):
take the training wheels off this kid. What's your take
on what happened last Saturday night against Oklahoma?
Speaker 9 (01:36:42):
No, I Hermerson agree that the training wheels are getting
kept on for him some more and some other things.
Speaker 19 (01:36:48):
They clearly don't want to run him.
Speaker 9 (01:36:50):
Shroanmore even said in this Prescott on some Monday morning,
if you run a quarterback, you better have two of them.
And it's clear Michigan doesn't believe they have two of them.
So that's something that just doesn't appear like it's gonna
be in the game player. And then I just I
guess it was from due to lack of belief in
the interier offensive line. But I didn't agree with all
his screen pass calls. I don't think anyone who watched
the game would. Michigan's receivers just didn't seem to be
(01:37:11):
able to block them well and they didn't go well
at all.
Speaker 19 (01:37:14):
But yeah, they also just had to clean it up.
Bryce miss some reeds.
Speaker 9 (01:37:18):
There were some times where Chip Lindsay actually called a
good play with good designs and he missed an open guy.
We saw Zach Marshall on that one wheel route where
he was just streaking down the sideline and no one
saw him. And then there were a few other ones
where there's one play where he had Somad Morgan in
the scene that would have also probably been a touchdown.
Speaker 19 (01:37:34):
So he's got a lot of things to clean up.
Speaker 9 (01:37:36):
I mean, he hasn't been fantastic so far on passes
further than ten yards away. On those, He's only seven
for nineteen right now, so that's something he certainly needs
to clean up. However, they have a good opportunity this
weekend because they're playing the fourth worst passing defense in
college football, who's allowed almost three hundred and thirty yards
of games.
Speaker 19 (01:37:53):
So yeah, I mean, we.
Speaker 9 (01:37:54):
All had super high expectations. He's just a true freshman,
but you know this could be a big weekend for
his development and take step board.
Speaker 3 (01:38:01):
Biff Polgy is the head coach this week. What do
you expect out of this sleeveless wonder?
Speaker 9 (01:38:08):
Yeah, I mean I think the Michigan's game day operation
is pretty uh smooth and well determined by this point.
It really hasn't changed much from Jim Harbada, Sharon Moore
and also the way Michigan structured this self imposed suspension
hand a little bit of gamemanship involved in it.
Speaker 19 (01:38:25):
Suspension starts on Saturday night once it turns midnight into Saturday.
Speaker 9 (01:38:30):
So he's been in the building all week, tell game plan,
he's been a practices So oh it's not like Bif
has been running the show all this week.
Speaker 19 (01:38:38):
Next week he will be.
Speaker 9 (01:38:39):
But I don't really know how much of a difference
we so, especially in a game like Central Michigan where
Michigan should win pretty handily. I'm more interested to see
the following weekends Nebraska, but the big round calls or
something like that.
Speaker 8 (01:38:52):
What he ends up doing.
Speaker 3 (01:38:54):
Yeah, no offense to Biff Pogy.
Speaker 5 (01:38:56):
He's just a placeholder, like just go out there with
a head said, look like you're doing something, but we
all know what this is at this point. And I
hate to do this in just week three, but I
feel like it's a fair question the way the offense
has looked so far, aside from Justice Haynes, who appears
to be one of the best running backs in the
country already, would you put more of the offensive game
(01:39:18):
planning or just the execution on offense? Would you put
more of that on Chip Lindsay or the playmakers on
this team just not doing enough?
Speaker 3 (01:39:27):
We might have lost Alex. I don't know, he'll bounce.
He'll bounce back if.
Speaker 2 (01:39:34):
You much funny, And I'm just gonna ask Alex, and
I hope you guys know I'm not like chastising you, Okay,
But I heard a lot of Michigan fans talking about
the offense because you have the gazillion dollar man. What
did you see out of the defense?
Speaker 4 (01:39:47):
Not very much.
Speaker 5 (01:39:48):
I did see, uh, what's his name, Martin Deale. I
did see him make adjustments throughout the game. Yes, And
the more they pressure John Mattier, the more they were
getting to him. And in the second half, like besides
him getting out of the pocket and killing you with
his legs. They were able to keep him pretty well contained,
especially because he was killing them with his arm in
the first half.
Speaker 2 (01:40:07):
You want to talk about a guy that resurrected his
reputation in real time? Yeah, last year Wink, not enough
people were talking about Wink because, let's be honest, Wink
Wink was a guy that a lot of people in
your fan base were clamoring for to get fired. Let's
go back to Alexi. Alexi, sorry for the hiccup, you're
such a pro to stick with us. Hey, listen, KG,
(01:40:29):
finish your question for Alexi.
Speaker 5 (01:40:31):
No shout out Alex, but I wanted to ask you
the execution on offense. I hate to do this so early,
it's only week three, but who would you put more
of the blame on? Would you put it on Chip
Lindsay's play calling or would you put it on the
playmakers just not doing enough at this point?
Speaker 9 (01:40:47):
You know, I don't like to not take a definitive
standard answer on that, but I think there's a little
of both. I mean, I think on the screen calls
and stuff, those are just I'm not a fan of screens.
Speaker 19 (01:40:55):
At all in football.
Speaker 9 (01:40:57):
Yeah, I think that tell me about them of a
wasted down. But I also think this is just not
a very great offensive line. The tackles are the strong
points for the interior. Giovanni al Hatti going down hurts
a ton, Greg Krippen just looks like a low end
big ten center, and then Brady Norton transferred in from
(01:41:18):
cal Poly for a reason, and Nathan A. Phoebe who
subbed in for Giovanni al Hatty, just looks like a
group of five guard quite frankly, So I feel like
I'm a lot of the play calls. It was just
simply the fact that Bryce either didn't have a lot
of time in the pocket at all, or that they
weren't able to get any push on the offensive line,
because so far in Michigan has three hundred and fifty
(01:41:38):
four yards on sixty carries so far this year, but
one hundred ninety those came on three carries, which were
a few well blocked plays. And then we saw at
Justice Haynes, who's the number four rusher in college football
right now, with his home run, speed, breakaway and make
a big thing happen. So I think a lot of
it is just on this offensive line, really knocking up
to the sand.
Speaker 19 (01:41:57):
We're used to it.
Speaker 5 (01:41:58):
Yeah, and I don't if we wanted to ask you
about the defense. You know, we've talked about Wink a
ton since we started doing these segments. I feel like
in the Oklahoma game he got better as the game
went along. The more they were able to pressure Matier,
the better the outcome was. He was able to kill
you with his legs. But I feel like they just
weren't getting enough, you know, pressure on the edges to
(01:42:20):
really stop that, or he was breaking contained a lot.
But what are your thoughts on on Wink Martin dial
to this point, because to me, he's been the best
I guess coordinator so far through three games.
Speaker 9 (01:42:33):
Yeah, I mean, I definitely agree he's better coordinator. I
thought he actually did a pretty good job Saturday night.
There are some things like some blun coverages or mistackles,
but those are all very coachable at least for the players,
and that should be able to get better throughout this season.
Speaker 19 (01:42:45):
And I thought there's a pretty good game plan.
Speaker 9 (01:42:46):
I mean, people were expecting a little more out of
the TJ guy and Derek Moore, but you can't just
send them and have them pin their ears back against
the quarterback leg John Mtier, because he can make things
happen with their legs, so you have to use a
contained rush, like you said, and then on a lot
of his design pressures and blitzes. They were working very well.
But once we lost Zeke Barry for the rest of
the game and we had a stick a true freshman
(01:43:07):
and James Sanders out there, he was clearly scared of
leaving him on an island or without as much help,
so we kind of had to go away from a
lot of the designed, drawn up blitzer. So I honestly
thought it was a pretty good showing out of Martindale
on Saturday. And he's just got to keep it up
and keep going and really coach the fundamentals stuff that
Jim Arball if he was here, he would be, you know,
banging the table and making sure those are the complete
(01:43:28):
focal points of practice all week.
Speaker 2 (01:43:31):
Alex, ze one more thing before we let you go,
and really appreciate you man. I mean that it's a
get right game. They aren't going to lose to Central Michigan.
I said what I said, do you think they cover
the twenty seven and a half and win this going away?
Speaker 19 (01:43:45):
I think they do.
Speaker 9 (01:43:46):
There's some things working against him, Like Central Michigan loves
just hold the ball game and kill the clock. Their
coach came from Army last year, and they's something like
thirty six minutes time of possession through two games so
far on average. But I think this is just a
game where Michigan is going to make sure their offense
is clicking. They're going to be really aggressive with it since,
like you said that, everyone kind of knows Michigan's gonna
win this game, right, so you got to be aggressive
(01:44:09):
try to get things to click. So I actually do
a faith that Michigan will be able to get things going.
And I also very little faith in the Central Michigan
offense this upcoming Saturday.
Speaker 5 (01:44:18):
Yeah, fire up, chips, but we know what the hell
that is we looking over at Central Michigan unfortunately. But
before you get out of here, I wanted to ask
you how confident at this point are you about that
Nebraska game, because this is going to turn out to
be a bigger game than we thought when we first
viewed the schedule.
Speaker 9 (01:44:35):
Yeah, a little less confident after last week's performance. In
all honesty, however, I was not very impressive in Nebraska
in their game against Cincinnati.
Speaker 19 (01:44:43):
Which Cincinnati and Scott Sandarfield.
Speaker 9 (01:44:46):
He was a guy that when he left Louisville for Cincinnati,
Louisville fans are celebrating. So that's all I'm gonna say
about him as a coach. So I'm still feeling pretty
good about the Michigan Nebraska game.
Speaker 2 (01:44:57):
But Ryola is the next Mahomes. Nobody can continue whatever
we do. Alexy, great job, man, appreciate you. Thanks for
joining again. All Right, we are up against it. Shocked
or no doubt about that.
Speaker 3 (01:45:14):
Well, Stallions be on the sideline. It wasn't mean I
think Pogy should wear that Bobby Valentine, that would be hilarious.
Speaker 2 (01:45:26):
It's not him. Uh JB.
Speaker 3 (01:45:27):
Where are we going? Uh we don't.
Speaker 4 (01:45:30):
I don't believe we have any super chants to clear.
Speaker 3 (01:45:32):
Up right now.
Speaker 4 (01:45:33):

Skylar Diggins As she went to the game in a
(01:50:32):
puffy jacket filled with milk. I'm assuming this is some
kind of the advertisement for milk.
Speaker 3 (01:50:39):
Somehow, some way it is.
Speaker 4 (01:50:41):
But yeah, she pulled up to the sky game wearing
a give me some puffy jacket full of milk, and
don't understand that.
Speaker 3 (01:50:52):
I don't understand fashion people.
Speaker 2 (01:50:56):
I was kind of hoping you were gonna roll with
footage of Holly Berry as catwoman.
Speaker 3 (01:51:01):
I got to be honest. How about Anne Hathaway. Oh
my god, I.
Speaker 4 (01:51:06):
Don't have any folds of Anne Hathway or Justice Justice
for that movie Havoc. But I was gonna say, check
out that movie Havoc. I've seen, Yeah, I've seen yes.
Speaker 3 (01:51:18):
Yes, what she's saying the tooth I was dumb, I
got I've seen it. I've seen it. Watch Love and
Other Drugs. No, you you're like it, Sean, because you
get a certain scene in there.
Speaker 4 (01:51:31):
You're like, and it's in the beginning too, I believe.
Speaker 2 (01:51:34):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (01:51:35):
Uh, if you all know if you played Madden or
college football this past year, if you're seing the PlayStation,
you know it's try and go. It's on the Xbox,
you know it's why. But either way, my man hit this,
oh to jump, you got smoked dog?
Speaker 3 (01:51:56):
Oh wow, that's something.
Speaker 15 (01:52:02):
You know what?
Speaker 2 (01:52:02):
And and my guy took it like a man to
watch look at his face. Yeah, yeah, see, sometimes you
just gotta go all right, you got me, bro, look
at that. Watch his face. You own it like it happened.
You come back. You you gotta do better the next time.
Speaker 5 (01:52:20):
I'll say that totally wrong because there's no space in
this room and there's a whole bunch of But thankfully
nobody got it.
Speaker 2 (01:52:27):
It is amazing what the sides of tables can do
to the human head.
Speaker 3 (01:52:30):
I'll try to tell you luckily nobody got not that.
Speaker 2 (01:52:34):
There were three different occasions in the Bellegian household when
we were kids where one of us hit the side
of the table and ended up going to get stitches
or anything. But yeah, that side of the table. Look
at that side right there, do you dude? First you're
looking at it at least five stitches.
Speaker 3 (01:52:50):
You're looking at at least a concussion.
Speaker 2 (01:52:52):
Yeah, pretty pretty even money chance.
Speaker 4 (01:52:55):
And finally, you guys, I will end what's training with this.
So I had to go back and do a little
bit of research on this. But apparently a gallon of
rare MJ sauce barbecue sauce sold for ten thousand. Yes,
I don't, I don't know if anyone knows this's but
back in nineteen ninety two, apparently a McDonald's franchise owner
(01:53:17):
hooked up and linked up with Michael Jordan to produce
Michael Jordan barbecue sauce a special meal. It was Jordan's
special that they had and the owner actually saved one
of the sauces and it recently sold for ten thousand.
Is a genius.
Speaker 3 (01:53:34):
You know what, you look at that sauce though, you
keep trusting that Jordan barbecues.
Speaker 2 (01:53:37):
Do you know what people will never understand unless you
live through it. Mans and you and I can talk
to this, Like Michael Jordan for a year was everywhere
like people and that damn sometimes I dream he is me.
That commercial was on heavy rotation every godsam chancel of
globalized basketball.
Speaker 3 (01:53:55):
It literally like like and and like we get internet, we.
Speaker 2 (01:54:00):
All hate him. Okay, we're we're Piston fans. We can
all hate him and all that stuff away. Dude, I
told you, I like, dude.
Speaker 4 (01:54:08):
The moment I.
Speaker 2 (01:54:09):
Flipped is when he did that like shrug. When he
did the shrug, that was it. Like at that moment,
I was like, oh, like, knock it up. He's telling
you what he's going to do, then he's doing it,
and he's going You guys are doubting me, what's up.
Speaker 3 (01:54:22):
I can't. I can't. I never hated him. I couldn't.
Speaker 2 (01:54:25):
I hated his guns.
Speaker 4 (01:54:26):
I did.
Speaker 2 (01:54:26):
I hated his gun I can imagine during that time
I hated Bird and then and then it See that's
funny because the same thing happened to Bird like it
was later. I think it was when they weren't like
a threat anymore and you kind of sat back and
you realized what Larry Bird was.
Speaker 3 (01:54:42):
He was unbelievable and like I wish I could have
enjoyed him.
Speaker 2 (01:54:44):
It's funny hearing people talk about Larry Bird to this day.
There's like an awe that they speak of Larry Bird,
like he was there for. He wasn't supposed to do
everything he did. He just did was right.
Speaker 3 (01:54:55):
I hated that team. I hated them. I still hate
them when I think of him, I hate him.
Speaker 2 (01:55:01):
I will die. I will die saying Michael Jordan's the
best basketball player.
Speaker 3 (01:55:05):
Oh God, yes, I will.
Speaker 2 (01:55:06):
I will die.
Speaker 3 (01:55:07):
And I'm a Lebron fan, but not even close. I
would take Bird over Lebron. I would.
Speaker 2 (01:55:16):
Okay, okay, shut out Bird, Larry legend. Seriously, I mean that,
like Bird, it is broken back, phenomenal player phenomenal play.
Speaker 5 (01:55:28):
If I pay all ten dollars saw cracking that barbecue
sauce open in twenty.
