Nalani interviews Leonora Anzaldua.Leonora is a photographer and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, CA, whose work is driven by a deep commitment to amplifying the stories of underrepresented communities. With a strong belief in the power of art as a vehicle for social change, her practice spans photography and film, often exploring themes of identity, resistance, and representation.She began their artistic journey at Yale University, where she studied photography under the guidance of Timothy Davis and Gregory Crewdson. Leonora went on to earn an MFA from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, with a concentration in cinematography and directing. Her portfolio includes staged self-portraits, documentary photography of protests during the Trump administration, and a range of narrative, documentary, and commercial motion picture projects. Through every frame, Leonora remains dedicated to storytelling that challenges, uplifts, and provokes meaningful dialogue.
