Welcome to Side Effects May Vary, a mental health podcast for the overmedicated, under-functioning, emotionally exhausted, and still-trying.

This show was born from the in-between moments—between therapy sessions, between diagnoses, between the days that feel manageable and the ones that don’t. It’s not a self-help podcast. There are no step-by-step guides, quick fixes, or toxic positivity here.

Just real talk. Honest stories. And a space for people navigating the complexities of mental health in real life—not in highlight reels.

Each episode explores the realities of living with anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, and everything that comes with them: medication side effects, difficult therapy sessions, misdiagnoses, workplace pressure, emotional fatigue, and the weird mix of guilt and relief that comes from simply surviving.

You’ll hear solo episodes, anonymous submissions, and conversations with people who get it. This isn’t about recovery arcs or inspirational endings. It’s about naming the hard stuff. Sitting in it. And offering some kind of solidarity in the middle of it all.

Whether you’ve been in therapy for years, are trying to figure out if you “qualify” for support, or are somewhere in between—Side Effects May Vary is for you.

Because mental health isn’t linear. Symptoms shift. Coping looks different every day. And some weeks, the win is just showing up.

If you’ve ever:

  • Cried in your car after therapy

  • Ghosted your psychiatrist

  • Switched meds three times in one month

  • Felt fine and not-fine at the same time

  • Wondered if anyone else is feeling what you’re feeling...

This podcast is for you.
