Speaker 1 (00:02):
This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
covering one piece episodes seven hundred and seventy four through
seven hundred and seventy six. A battle to defend zo
Movie and Zunisha, save Zunesha, the straw Hats rescue operation,
(00:25):
and saying goodbye, and descending from the elephant setting out
to take back Sanji. In these episodes, everything with Zunasha
gets settled so satisfactorily that I don't even know where
to begin. I really didn't expect it all to be
(00:46):
so decisive and so sudden, and I, for one, am
here for it. Welcome to spoil Me, Welcome to the
(01:13):
show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank you very much to
Florian for commissioning this episode. I you, guys, I really
really really enjoyed these three episodes. I found myself like
cracking up a few different times. And there is a
point later on that I will get to where I
(01:36):
had another like out loud reaction. So let us begin
a battle to defend so Lufi and Zunisha. Now, I
really want to mention like, I'm still not entirely sure
why it is that only Lufy and Momo can hear Zunisha.
(01:57):
It's evidently just the two of them, and it's I
don't like what it is is the uh. Later on,
Momo has to like scream in order to respond to Zunisia,
which I was really thinking last episode with the voice
(02:20):
coming into their heads, I thought one hundred percent that
it was going to turn out they could speak back
to Zonisia with no problem, and the fact that it's
a one way conversation really sucks ass Like genuinely, I
was just like, oh, that's super inconvenient, But Momo feels
(02:46):
passionately enough that later it doesn't matter. He is able
to get his point across. It takes a little while, though,
because of course Lufy is just screaming out loud, and
everybody is like, why what is he even saying? What
is he hearing? Nobody can understand because they can't hear it,
so he's having this out loud reaction, and meanwhile, Momo
(03:09):
himself is not reacting out loud at all. He's just
kind of curling up and I won't say screaming, but
like there's a sense of I could scream if I
were able to get it out like that, he would
be you know, and the two samurai are very concerned
(03:31):
about him and trying to be like, dude, what can
we do to help you? And he just can't answer them.
So eventually we get to see that he is connecting
somehow to Znatia and seeing through Zonasha's eyes, and y'all,
this was truly some wild shit. So he can see
(03:54):
the ship with Jack on it, and of course when
he says Jack has come back, everybody is like, wait,
he's supposed to be dead. What do you mean? And
he's like, I saw it as clear as day. I
don't know what to tell you, and the voice of
Zunatia has been like, you guys are in grave danger
(04:16):
telling him, and then all of a sudden, you guys,
the dark, bottomless pit turns into you can see Zacia's
eye for a moment, and I literally said out loud,
oh shit, Like I just thought he didn't have any eyes.
(04:40):
But I guess it's just supposed to be that he
has gotten so old and saggy that his eye is
just that far back in his like skin folds or something.
Maybe I don't know. I'll be honest, kids, don't totally know,
but I did. Just you all maybe remember and I'm
(05:07):
sure Florian does that. I was talking to him about
how much the lack of eyes disturbed me in particular,
that was something that like I felt very strongly, why'd
you do that? What was well? I would you do that, though,
because otherwise this isn't look you don't have to make
(05:29):
it so scary, and I understand that, like, maybe it's
this unthinkably old creature that a whole civilization is built on.
Maybe he can be a little creepy. Maybe that is
just inherently creepy, and him being creepy isn't unfair, to
which I say, yeah, but I don't like it. I
(05:55):
really am like not sure if it's better that it
has eyes that we can't see normally or if it
doesn't matter. I don't know, but yeah, So Momo finally
realizes that it's a nation that's speaking to him, and like,
just wanting to I said that I really enjoyed these
(06:18):
three episodes, and I totally did, But I do want
to address the fact that we are fully halfway through
this episode before we finally get to the moment where
Momo realizes that this all takes a long time. Now,
even though it does take a long time, I will
(06:38):
say that I wasn't particularly like mad about it because
everything is so high stakes right now that it actually
felt okay to me, you know, yeah, okay, take your time,
that kind of attitude of just like it's it's a
pretty big idea that we're figuring out here, and I
(07:01):
think that's fair. But I definitely as I'm looking at
it right now and laughing to myself because I scroll
through as I'm talking about it to find the spot,
and you know, it's almost exactly halfway through where we
finally get moment being like, oh my god, it's a Natia.
That's who I'm talking to. Hi, I'm just like God.
I will say, like, there are times where something feels
(07:23):
dragged out, and it really feels dragged out, and then
there are times like this where I actually didn't feel
it so much. I will say that it wasn't like
I wasn't sitting there like, uh, get on with it,
which I'll admit happens. This was such a huge idea
(07:47):
to get across and so bizarre, and so I'm trying
to think of the word that I was able to
sit back and let it wash over me and not
get impatient about it. So I also want to mention
(08:08):
guys that there is this sort of series of towers
on Zoonasha's back. A lot of times when the camera
pulls out and we see the land from further back,
the focus is really on that whale shaped tree, which
(08:29):
I don't I feel like they've mentioned that by name
as being called something, and I'll admit I don't remember
what they called it, but suffice to say, I was
not remembering that there were these huge, very square, almost
pillar like towers. And I don't know if it's been
(08:52):
mentioned what those are for, or where they are from
or what, but uh, I just was startled by them
because I was not thinking about the place. I just
I think I have this happened a lot where I
have a sort of inaccurate picture of the landscape. You know,
they just literally call it the whale trees. To Seraphim,
(09:13):
Oh wow, that's it. Okay, three different, massively different numbers
given over the years. As Oda keeps changing his mind.
Oh about okay, eh Oda. So Zisha is yelling to Momo,
give me the order to fight back, and as he
(09:35):
is doing that, he's like he's trumpeting with his trunk
and he's also like tipping this way, and that his
skin is sort of rippling and causing the entire landscape
to like it almost is like a wave travels through it.
(09:57):
It's really weird looking. And Momo says, the elephant is
requesting permission to fight back. He needs someone to order
him to battle, which I would very much like to
know who set that up, Like you can't just defend yourself.
That's a fucked up system. I don't like this that
he has to ask for permission, But Momo is looking
(10:22):
up and he's like, what should I do? And Lufy says,
you've got to say it. Your voice will be able
to reach him, and he's like, I don't think it'll work,
and Lufy's like, well just try it, because otherwise we
all fucking drown. So what the fuck? And this kid
keeps arguing he won't be able to hear me, and
I just wanted to slap him, I really did. I
(10:44):
just was like, can you just fucking yell and see
what happens? You know, like just stop arguing. In this
amount of time, you could have yelled out to him
three times, shut the fuck up, stop arguing, and do
the fucking thing enough already, but you know, I don't
have a lot of patience with children. So it's so
(11:06):
funny too, because guys, in these three episodes, Robin's ability
comes up many times. I feel like she's put to
work more in these three episodes than she has been
in like the whole series, and it's like constantly turning
out to be let's have Robin. Let people do things
(11:27):
that were really hard to do earlier, but now it's
not so hard for reasons I was saying about, like
climbing up and down the side of the elephant earlier?
Doesn't she have her arms? Couldn't she just do this?
Why are we doing it this way? And then that
is what we do here, and I felt a little
indignant that, like, you just wanted to make things harder
(11:49):
for no fucking reason. So I had to sit through
this poor drawing that is being tortured essentially forcing to
force to carry them up the side. And we could
have just done this from the beginning. But okay, sure,
so Lufy says, the elephant can't take much more, just
do it. Momo has his hand over his head and
(12:12):
is not listening, and I swear to God, I was
ready to just chuck this kid over the side, fuck
do the thing, and it takes far too long for
him to finally get it together. You just see this
poor elephant's eyes starting to close. I swear there's like
almost a single tear coming out. I was so annoyed, y'all.
(12:36):
I was so there is no reason to drag this
out this way. And finally he yells elephant, which, first
of all, you can't call it by its name. Come on,
and then you cannot give up. You now stand your
ground and fight, and hear my plea. I wish for
(13:00):
you to finally make Jack go away. Now this may
be a translation issue, but I just felt like saying
you cannot give up. The animal isn't going to give up.
(13:21):
It needs orders, Like that's not the same thing. And
I want you to make Jack go away. It is
so like that they do it, Zunasha does it. But
it's such a weird. I thought it was going to
be yes, defend us, defend yourself against anybody who would
(13:44):
harm you or us, that it would be a general
sort of you know, but just saying like I want
you to make him go away. I can't help but
actually think this is better wording because it's more to
the point of like, don't just defend yourself. I don't
want to be dealing with this guy at all, so
(14:05):
just send him somewhere, which is what Genetia does and
it shows out to be great. But in the moment,
I was sort of like, that is a weird way
to give him this command. I felt like, oh, that's
not the way I would do it, but sure, Florian
says as a reminder. On Fishman Island, hiro Hoshi, the
(14:25):
Mermaid Princess was known as the ancient weapon Poseidon could
talk to and control Seekings. During that arc, the seekings
talk to her, Oh, sea Kings, I'm you spell the
see Florian, and I was that means seeking, like I'm
looking for something, but you're talking about sea kings, the
(14:46):
giant animal. I'm getting it now. During that arc, the
sea Kings talked to her, and Lufy was able to
understand them as well, which surprised the sea Kings. Right, okay,
thank you for that, Florian. And Sara f m says,
who that gayess on Zenasha is? How you say that, Geish?
I can't remember, good question. It's still a really huge
(15:06):
elephant getting that many people up that far would be
extremely rough. Plus she was bonding with run whatever the
name of that. Bonding with an animal that you're torturing
couldn't be me. So here's the thing on the elephant
that could just be translation issues since so is just
Japanese for elephant, but doesn't isn't Danesha the name of
(15:28):
the elephant, Like doesn't it have its own name? Why
wouldn't you? It doesn't matter ultimately what we get. Another moment,
when he yells you know, we don't want to see
him again, all of a sudden, you hear Zaniesha say understood,
and you see its eye appear again, and its eye
(15:50):
looks a little different this time. It's like not animated,
but the same way I have to mention. And again
I was just like, oh damn. And then I thought
what we were going to get was Zuniesha just stomping
on all of them. It does sort of look like
that's where we're going for a moment, because Zunisha comes forward.
(16:12):
It's weird the way that it's animated, because at first
I thought, oh, okay, this is Dunisha's leg, because there's
something that passes by all of the ships at the
same time, and then you see it like it moves past.
It takes a little while to like clear the camera,
(16:34):
so to speak, and then you realize that was its
trunk that it was like swiping across and lifting. So
considering how long it took for that trunk to swing by,
it's just giving a nice sense of proportion to how
big this thing is. Zunesha takes the longest like wind
(17:02):
up like she is about to pitch for the Yankees,
and bitch slaps this entire fleet of ships into another dimension.
It was so satisfying, y'all the way that she just went,
get the fuck out of my face. I love this
(17:23):
for us. It was wonderful. It made me so happy.
I never thought it was gonna be this easy. I
really didn't. I kind of felt like because of the
way Zo Nation wasn't really reacting when the attack first began,
I was sort of wondering if it even had sentience
in any real way. I was like, you know, I
thought this was gonna be a whole thing, and like, granted,
(17:44):
it is a whole thing, but it's resolved way quicker
than I was expecting. And it's very fun to watch
the pirates observe the trunk going up into the air
and be unable to do jackshit to stop it pun intended, lol, Jack,
But there's just you know, where, what are they gonna do?
(18:05):
They can't travel faster than this trunk can travel, and
they're on ships. It's not like they can jump off
and swim away in time like there's nothing to be done.
They're just sitting ducks. And I do like as the
trunk heads toward them that you see the wave that
it creates in front of it, that begins to lift
them up in the first place. And somebody, one of
(18:29):
the pirates yells, we're not supposed to be in the air.
What do we do now? And I was just like, guys,
what do you think he's gonna tell you? Are you
fucking serious? Are you for real? Right now? This thing?
It's so like when I said about to pitch for
the Yankees. What's so funny is that I thought the
(18:52):
smack was gonna be it. They're hovering and Janasha comes
back and hits them like they are the base and
her trunk is the bat and just totals them. These
ships are broken into like a trillion pieces. Jack's whole
helmet is fucked up. Now. People don't really die in
(19:14):
this show really, unless it's a flashback usually, so it
may be that, like Jack's not dead still, but I'm
perfectly okay with never seeing Jack again. I feel like
this was enough of a WWB SmackDown that we can
just say goodbye to him and it's fine. So personally,
(19:36):
I hope that's a wrap. And the little monkey guy
is the one who observes all of this because like
I keep forgetting about the proportion of everything. So I'm
thinking that our friends are up on the top of
the elephant looking down watching all of this happen, but
they don't know what's happening. It's they're feeling things move
(19:58):
and they're seeing Momo tak, but they don't have an
idea of the real like, you know, the order of
events here, So they're having to get reports from this
monkey who's watching through a little telescope. And when we
go back to Momo, he says the presence has left me,
(20:19):
and Lufy says the same thing, like yeah, I can't
hear the voice either, and Momo almost passes out. It's
kind of funny because like, I'm not this is not criticizing,
but like Lufy's fine, Like Lufy could not be more fine.
He's just oh yeah, wow, big voice. I was something,
(20:43):
Well it's gone now anyway, and Momo is collapsing, and
granted he's a literal child, but I like to think
Lufy is just that infuriatingly like flexible, and I mean
he literally is, but it was just kind of funny
to me. So this is when the monkey calls and
(21:08):
tells everybody, and eventually they're all like, oh, yay, Jack's gone,
this is great, but they they get news later that
the elephant is really really badly injured and that if
they don't do something about it, it is going to
fall over and things are going to get quite bad.
And then at the very end of this we get
(21:30):
the transponder snail that's ringing. We're in this very snowy
landscape with these extremely cool looking trees that look straight
out of like Japanese artwork, and we hear a pooh
and Kaido and a poo says, seems our communication with
(21:52):
Jack was cut off rather abruptly. What now, Kaido? And
it looks like a poo is in prison. I'm not
sure it, like there's bars here, and it couldn't tell
who it was that was behind the bars, but it
(22:13):
just ends with Kido's face and him looking pissed. There's
no further dialogue, and I just wasn't entirely sure if
I was supposed to know what was going on there
or not, but just I guess a heads up that
like Kido knows now that Jack has been taken out,
So then we have the whole issue with trying to
(22:34):
deal with the injury, and there's also I'm trying to
find the the yeah here it is. All that's left
now is to figure out how we're gonna slap the
thing on there. This is Frankie. Remind me, man, back
when you heard the news that Jack was alive, you
talked about preparing some vessels. Would you mind explaining how
(22:58):
you guys launched them? And if you're about to tell
me you just throw them straight down, then you're going
to break this old Shipwright's hard because we are so
high up. They would never survive the fall. And that
musketeer guy that comes over and is like this, these
are all of the ships and they're really cool looking.
They kind of look like Viking vessels. They're smaller, and
(23:22):
they were supposed to be hoop hooked up to these
rigs that have a lowering and raising mechanic that the
ropes roll through. And Frankie says, if you go cut
down some trees, I can repair a lot of these.
So we have a fun little like problem solving session
(23:44):
where we're figuring out exactly how we can like fix
Tu Nasha and how we can get the equipment together
to do the fixing itself. So there's the bandage that
we have to construct, and uh, that is something that's
(24:06):
I feel like it's kind of fun. It's Robin who
takes this over, and she has so she can make
so many arms that she can sew really really quickly,
and she can fold and move things really easily and
quickly as well. So the bandage is actually like no problem.
It's just honestly, what should be the problem here is
(24:27):
actually physically having this much fabric, But what it's treated
as is the fabrics a foregone conclusion. Of course we
have that it's just making something big enough out of it.
That's the problem. I accept that. That's fine, but sorry,
Florian says, also really once said something like all Roger
did was hear the voice of the universe, you got
(24:50):
really mad because no one questioned that. Further me included
it was a wanna be I don't remember that, but
that does sound like me. I get really m that stuff.
I'm a passionate woman, I really am so. As Robin
is working on this and as Frankie is waiting for
(25:13):
his wood to get chopped, that sounds like an innuendo.
It really does. Nami asks Wanda for a sea chart
because you know it will help with navigation. A little
bit later, so everybody is starting to get on their shit.
And speaking of which, Chopper, with his hilarious little headdress
(25:35):
made of pearls, is finding these different herbs that help
with stopping bleeding and I think pain something like that.
And there are a couple of herbs that are so
rare that actually people don't Oh, serilization is the other one,
but most encyclopedias don't even mention it because it's so rare.
(25:59):
And he gets complimented by the doctor and the nurse.
I hesitate to call her a nurse because it just
feels like, oh, it's the lady and she must be
a nurse. But like she's clearly dressed as a nurse,
you know. But she compliments Chopper and later on does
(26:20):
her little face rub up against him, and it's very
clear that he is just so pleased that she is
impressed with him. It's extremely adorable. And I look, guys, Florian.
I want to mention really quick, because it was the
(26:44):
sort of thing where I watched them and then something
happened immediately as I was finishing one, and so I
didn't have time to text you back, but you messaged
me with a couple of little funny bits from I
don't know if it was Instagram or TikTok from the
live action cast, and I watched them and they were
(27:08):
really cute. One of them dudes, who's playing Loofy, has
a dinosaur costume that he's wearing around. It's very goofy.
But at one point, like I went to the comments
really quickly, and I realize, now I should just stay
out of the comments, Like it hasn't been a problem
in the live action ones, but I should just avoid
(27:30):
it anyway. But somebody of the comments said something like
they're introducing choppers soon, the most useless of the straw hats,
And I just want to say, I hope that person
drops dead. And that's all I'm gonna say about that.
(27:54):
Don't you ever come for my boy again, Okay, because
I'm not having it. I will curse you. I don't
know what it'll look like, but I know you won't
like it. And Chopper doesn't want this for either of us,
So don't come into my house. It's funny because they
(28:16):
weren't in my house at all. We were both in
somebody else's house. But I still take that very personally. Anyway,
they're all gathering all of this stuff so that they
can make a poultice for Zanasha's leg. There is a
sort of a weird moment here, guys. First, Brook chops
down a bunch of trees really quickly, and it's, uh,
(28:42):
you know, one of those bits where he chops them
down and it doesn't look like anything's happened, and there's
a bit of a pause, and then he's sort of
sort of like that should do it, and then all
of a sudden, the trees fall down and everybody's like
holy shit. And then Kenanman showed and he does something
that starts a fire, and as he starts the fire,
(29:07):
his friend Riiso jumps in with a little watering can
and puts out the fire. What was this? Is this
supposed to like season the wood or something? Is this
on purpose? I couldn't tell if that was like, if
(29:27):
this was supposed to be the two of them just
sort of being useless, or if it was like a
joke that is very specific, or if it's like, no,
this is what you do to the wood. You know
what I'm saying. I don't know what this, but anyway,
somebody asks if him using the watering can is ninpoh,
and he says, no, it's not, and gets very embarrassed
(29:49):
for some reason. Then we have Zoro, who in mid
air chops not only all of the branches off of
these tree trunks, but also slices the trunks into perfect
like four by four posts, and then they all land
in piles, and it's extremely what's the word. It's it's
(30:12):
extremely impressive and just so organized, and he has a
moment of really looking like everybody, you're welcome, And honestly,
Zora doesn't get like this very often. But he looks
around and nobody's there, and he's like, you're in the
wrong place. And Law comes up to him and says,
(30:36):
I knew you had trouble with directions, but this is
just plain stupidity. And all of a sudden, Loofy comes
across Zorro and is and it's Karat, who's like, you know,
they're riding on the back of that alligator. And I like,
(30:57):
just this moment, I really thought Zora was in the
right place, that he was with everybody, and he's out
here performing to an audience that I thought it was like,
oh yeah, you they just like went and did something.
They were never there. Who did you think you were
talking to? He's that disconnected from his surroundings. That's genuinely
(31:18):
alarming for somebody with the abilities that he has. At
this point, Law does shambles and he sends Zoro and
all of the wood right over to where everybody is
doing the work, and it almost crushes them, like there's
just you just see the shadow as he falls into place,
(31:40):
and Karat is looking at all of this and is
just extremely starry eyed. And what we get towards the end,
I can't remember if it's this episode. I think it's
this one. Yeah, the very end of this episode is
eventually she asks Loofy to join the straw Hats, but
he doesn't hear her because he winds up remembering I
(32:03):
said that I was going to take Peckhams with me,
and I almost forgot him. I've got to go find
that guy. I just want to say that I don't
want any new members of the crew, and it's not
it's not like I just feel like we don't actually
(32:23):
get enough time with everybody as it is. You know,
I want to see more of the people that we've got,
and we don't have time to like touch base with
them a lot. And I just think enough already. We
don't need to be adding any further, you know what
I'm saying. It just seems like if we stretch the
(32:44):
attention of the audience any thinner, it's going to start
to just feel like pure chaos. So personally, as much
as I don't even want to say as much as
I like Carrot, because I don't feel one way or
the other about Carrot, like she's cute, she's like fine,
but I don't like her particularly, I'll say that I
(33:07):
don't have anything against Carrot, but like, no, girl, I
don't want you as part of this. I don't want
to do this. And it feels that by the end,
she's making a decision that she's gonna like stow away,
and I might be misreading that. I don't know, but
it just seemed to me and like she's sort of
(33:27):
talking herself into something, and like they have other members
of the Minks that are going to be accompanying them,
so it's possible that it won't feel as annoying because
there are going to be other Minks there, and so
it'll just have this sort of sense of like, Okay,
we've just got some representatives with us, and they're not
(33:49):
members of the crew, so maybe it'll be fine. But
just from where I'm sitting right now, I'm sort of whatever.
Seraphim says, that wasn't the nurse. The nurse is the
squirrel girl means milky the one chopper is blushing about. Wait, no, okay,
the squirrel nurse is Tristan. The reindeer chopper is blushing
about is milky, and it's showing he's got himself a crush. Yeah, oh,
(34:13):
he definitely does. That started when he first saw her,
which I mean she is a buxom lass, so yeah.
Florian says like he has defeated Caesar's poisons at many points,
and help the kids with the drugs. He is not useless, amen, Florian. Look,
I will say this I and this ties in with
(34:35):
me earlier saying we haven't gotten to see enough of
the crew As it is, Chopper is criminally underused. In
my opinion, I want a lot more of him in
different contexts. It's not as bad anymore as it had
been where it was just one like adventure after another
(35:00):
with him getting left on the ship, because it just
seemed like that was all we were doing for a minute,
and I was starting to be like, can we fucking
think of something new for him, please? And now that's
been sort of left by the wayside, and I hope
it stays that way. But I just I wouldn't mind
(35:20):
seeing him getting involved in actual physical fights a little
bit more, because he can be pretty impressive sometimes and
it's just something different. Maybe I can understand people feeling
like they don't really enjoy Chopper as much because his
abilities are much more low key, cerebral instead of combat
(35:43):
based and flashy, which I get. I think that's kind
of immature, but I get it. But Chopper is capable
of the flashy stuff too, and we just don't get
it very often, and there is a built in threshold
where if he takes too many rumble balls, then he
(36:03):
freaks out, gets really sick, you know, point of no return.
So yeah, there's a ceiling on how much we can do.
But I still wish we did it more. I really
wouldn't mind it. You know, if Saraphim says, look to
some people, anyone who doesn't punch people in the face
is useless. That's I think that's really it, you know. Uh,
(36:24):
Sarahim says, Zora, He's literally gotten lost walking down a
straight hallway. This man is the worst sense of direction ever.
It's Zora. How how So this is the moment where
no Me is sort of like just talking generally, speaking about, Ay,
we have to do, you know, we have to start
figuring out our course. And she looks out the window
(36:46):
and there is what looks like a fucking mushroom cloud
on the horizon. It is humongous, and she says, that's
a silent super cell. It's a giant thundercloud that appears suddenly,
without any warning. It causes a terrible storm like you've
never seen, and the damage will be severe. We can't
(37:09):
treat the elephant, right now you got to tell them
all to stand by, and they are like in it.
Things are, things are happening. They're already lowering the ships
down the sides of the elephant so that they can
start putting the bandage on, and choppers down there using
a huge paintbrush to put the salve on it. And
(37:31):
you just see the wind begin to pick up, and
one of the minks is like yelling like we've got
to hold on and not get shaken off because they're
again but basically the dangling in the end of strings
off of the side, and Frankie is just like, all right,
(37:53):
we got to pull these guys up because if they
get got the rope is going to fly right off
of the I don't know what you call the things
that the rope gets fed through, but suffice to say
they could completely unravel. And then you see one of
them that happens and the ship falls completely sideways, and guys,
(38:17):
it was so funny. You're seeing all of them starting
to fall backwards and like bounce off the back of
the ship and they fly and just are like mid
air and then Loofy grabs onto one of the ships,
strings his arm out in front of them and sort
of catches them like clotheslined across their chests, and they
(38:39):
slide down his arm towards one of the other ships,
and then you see one of the other like rope
lines ripple, and honestly, guys, this is genuinely, really tense.
Like there are many times where I know I'm supposed
to be worried about people, but I'm kind of not,
(39:02):
and this was a time where I was sort of
like I might be worried there might be something that's
going to happen to everybody, like I don't know. I
also I really dislike heights too, and I think that
factors in where I'm watching everybody just dangling over open
ocean and maybe about to simply tumble to their deaths,
and that just is a very visceral thing for somebody
(39:22):
who is afraid of heights. So that also combined with
like the pelting rain and the way it's animated, it
just adds a sense of chaos. And then you see,
all of a sudden, the whole rope breaks and it
begins to slide downward, and then it stops and Chopper,
(39:49):
who's freaking out, looks up and it's just like Loofy,
because Loofy is holding on a one side and has
reached out and has grabbed the other side of the
rope and he's holding it. And I Am not kidding you,
you guys. I literally went this guy, I just like
(40:10):
I was just genuinely like, oh no, And then he
grabs it and saves him on and I was like, oh,
look at him being out here doing shit. I think
it's like Lufy is just so he's so inconsistent with
like when he decides to be super useful and when
(40:32):
he is flying out with his ADHD doing like pointless
shit or distracted by stuff, that every time he's actually
focused enough to help in a moment of crisis like this,
it's not about fighting anybody, it's just about helping. I
(40:52):
think that I just underestimate him sometimes because I'm so
used to him being kind of unreliable, you know. So anyway,
this is when we get the grid work of arms
that Robin uses, and she says, you guys in the
most sedate voice, sorry to have kept you all waiting.
(41:15):
Use my arms. They'll save you. It's so it's so
like it's like she's just telling people to get in
the car we're going to the mall getting losers. We're
going climbing. It's just so deadpan, it's so weird. She's
(41:41):
such a weirdo. Anyway, Okay, so yes, they begin to
climb up the sides. Things are going well, and then
Mooviy departs again because he is trying to fill this
backpack with food and he is just ubsessed with the
concept of getting enough food for this trip. The size
(42:01):
of the bag that he grabs, and they'd give him
permission to gather up as much as he can carry.
And I don't know if they really realized how much
that is, but it's plenty. So yeah, jumping ahead a
little bit, they finished patching up the poor elephant after
the storm passes. Now, I'll be honest, guys, I really
(42:24):
thought this storm was going to be more of a thing.
It's like, as soon as they finish getting those those
boats back up and everybody is safe, the storm's over.
It sort of went the same way as like the
whole thing with the elephant itself. I really just thought
this was gonna last a lot longer, and it turns out, Nah,
(42:45):
we're done within one episode. It's fine. I'm not really
mad about it. It's just funny to me because you know,
the show can be like drag some things out so
much that when it doesn't, I'm always sort of like whiplashed,
you know. So okay, jumping into the next episode, I'm
trying to see where I should go here, let's see.
(43:08):
Oh yeah, Momonoske wants to stay in zo. I wish
to know why this creature could hear my voice asking
the right questions? And he says, I need to see
if Zunasha knows anything about the Kozuki clan, and then
he I think it's him, or maybe it's somebody else.
(43:29):
I'm trying to remember, but somebody says, I also really
want to ask Zunesha. Maybe it's dog Storm. He says,
I want to ask Nisha. You've been walking a long time.
Where are you going? And I cackled because honestly, that's
(43:55):
a fucking great question and that never even entered my mind.
Where you're headed? What are you trying to get to?
What is this? You know? Like what I'm going to
hazard a guess, because Oda loves tragedy, is that Zanesha
is one of like a pack of huge elephants and
he had a whole family and he's been separated from them,
(44:19):
and so he's just spent a thousand years trying to
find his family again or something something awful and heartbreaking
and devastating, you know, something like that. That's my guess,
But I don't know, but I did. I just really
did enjoy the fact that, like, where you're going is
the question because they just never even thought of it.
(44:44):
And let's see, I'm trying to find the spot too,
because there's a mention of somebody getting a viver card made.
I think it's Kenamun. But guys, remind me, how do
you make a viver card? I know this is been mentioned,
and I don't recall how this works. Let's see earlier
(45:06):
Cat Viper created a viaver card for me, please distribute this,
and so he breaks it up. This is Kinane handing
them out to everybody. I propose that we separate into
four teams. First, someone must seek out Marco the Phoenix,
the former first division commander of the White Beard Pirates,
you know, the guy who looks like a pineapple, and uh,
(45:30):
that is going to be cat Viper that does that.
And then we've some of you should stand so and
join us. At a later time, and that's dog Storm, Momo,
the dragon, and oh no, these guys. It's the rat,
(45:51):
the dragon, the lion, and the zebra, the ones that
are the three musketeers, right right right. We get a
little chart for this too. Third, we need to send
a party to Whole Cake Island to rescue Sir Sangi
from Big Mom. I just want to register that I
didn't remember it was called Whole Cake Island, and I
don't know why, but it could have been any kind
(46:12):
of cake, and he just chose the word whole. And
there is something about that that I find very funny
and I don't I can't put my finger on it.
But of course that's gonna be Lufy's group, Brooke Lufy,
Nammy Peckham's and of course our boy Chopper. I did notice,
like Frankie isn't in that group. It's he's not pictured,
(46:35):
and I was sort of like, is this some kind
of uh, what's the word I want? Is he being
left out because he's not considered as important? But no,
he is part of the other group along with Zorro.
And let's say I'm trying to jump back, but guys,
(46:56):
I gotta say credishy Roll is very unco operative when
it comes to me, like scrubbing through episodes to see things.
The rest of us will return to Wuano, gather allies
and plot a strategy until the other three teams arrive,
and that is Oosup, Zoro, Kinniwan, Condrero, Riizo, Law, Frankie
(47:19):
and Robin. I have got to be honest, I'm worried
about there being so many fighters going to Wana and
not enough to big moms. But I guess we'll just
have to see how it goes. It just seems like
we're leaving a lot of hey heavy hitters, and ah,
(47:40):
I'm worried about it. So this is when Lufy goes
to pick up Peckham's and the house collapsed apparently, I guess,
in all of the attack, and Peckhams has eaten the
turtle turtle fruit, so he's he's got a turtle shell
(48:02):
that protects him. I don't know if we knew this already.
I don't remember this, but it's such a weird moment.
And Lufy says, oh my god, now you're turtle viper,
and Peckhams is like, you get my name wrong all
the time. But the fact that you didn't even keep
the word lying in it. That's bothering me, Like, don't
(48:24):
it's not fair. Can't a fellow recover in peace? And
Peckham's when he gets up here, Let's see what is
it that he says, because he's he makes this like
big statement that he thinks Lufy's gonna have a strong
reaction to, and then he doesn't. Yeah, because I'm the
man with the power of the turtle turtle fruit. You
(48:45):
saw my shell. It's hard and durable like diamond. Are
you listening? And Lufy just says Chopper said he would
be in charge of making sure you get better so
you don't have to worry. And he says, you little brat,
I was kind of expecting a big reaction to that
part about the diamond. And you, anybody who ever expects
a certain reaction from Lufy about anything other than meat,
(49:09):
you are doomed to be disappointed. I am so sorry
to tell you. Let's see, so not counting Lufy, it's
all the straw hats who were gone from das Rosa.
What the mission is to sneak in. There's not going
to be any fighting. Yeah, uh huh. We saw back
in Fishman Island, I think, and it's how he survived
Beij shooting him. Okay, right, right, right, So then we
(49:34):
have the scene where everybody wants to go with the
straw Hats and they're all talking to cat Viper about
why they should be able to go. They want to
help Lufy because Sonji protected Zoh and they failed to
protect Sanji from being taken on their very own soil.
(49:56):
So they're like, we can't just send Peckham's the only
mink like. They don't say it, but it feels very
much like he isn't very good as a rep for us.
He's shady, He's done shady stuff. We know it, you
know it. I don't want to have him out there
(50:18):
as the one, you know. And honestly I see that
a little bit. I think that he's right, so, you know,
he's putting himself forward as like, yeah, I definitely want
to be the one to go. And this is when
Shashilian shows up who I cannot say that name without
(50:39):
laughing hysterically inside, and they want to go, but uh,
what's his face? What's the name of the leopard guy
with the cigarette? He tells Shashilian, this is a stealth
mission and you are an insufferable loud mouth, which honestly,
every time Shashilian has shown up, he is doing all
(51:03):
kinds of cartwheels and spins and yelling. And this man
is extremely much He's very very much le he is.
You just don't You're not gonna be good for this dude,
not at all. Then we get Milky send me as
(51:26):
Doctor Chopper's assistant. And then uh, one of the other two, wait,
we became good friends with loofy let us go. I
love when they say we became good friends and Patrio
says yeah after attacking him. And then my favorite was
the big sheep dude, Yomo, and he's like, send me
(51:50):
she likes sleeping on my stomach nom does, which I
actually laughed out loud over that one. That cracked me
up a little bit. I like I want to just
somebody asked, because like the response Pedro, thank you Sarah,
And the response Pedro has is what does that have
(52:12):
to do with anything? The response should be you are
literally bigger than their ship. What do you think we're
gonna do with this? Like you know what I'm saying,
but uh, but yeah, I this whole bit of everybody
desperately wanting to go. It was kind of heartwarming. So
let's see. Uh, cat Viper says, Pedro is the only
(52:39):
one that's going to get to go, and cat Viper
his word apparently is law. Shashilian accepts it. He's very sad,
but he accepts it. And then we get probably like
one of the most important developments of this trio of episodes,
which is the new climatech rod that USAP has made
(53:05):
for Nami. Now, it's one of those things where I
don't like, none of none of this works in a
way that I understand or can explain. It's totally fine.
I don't care about that part. It's so much power
(53:25):
that she is able to wield in theory that I
am just like, this is almost too much, and I
am really pleased, just because I had been feeling Liken
Me is kind of the only one that I didn't
feel came away from the two years with a like
(53:48):
perceptible difference that I am that I could see from
her time learning, you know. Yeah, So I'm not saying
that there wasn't some growth, It's just that it was
much less noticeable, and I'm feeling like it sucks a
(54:08):
little bit that the growth that she's getting is really
just a toy that was made for her by Usop,
Like that's kind of not her, that's Usop doing it really,
which I've sort of had an issue with from the beginning. However,
I do really like to see Usop winning. You know,
he can be such a buffoon sometimes with the way
(54:31):
that he is portrayed, but then he's like actually capable
a lot, so I'll get frustrated with the fact that
he's being like played as this goon when we've seen
him do genuinely impressive shit. So yeah, she starts playing
with it, and she is so excited. It's really cute
because once she puts it away, she says to us Up,
(54:57):
this is awesome. It's like you took all the sun
cience of Waria to the absolute limit. This is the
sorcery Climatettack I've always dreamed about. Thanks us Up, You're
the best. And I was genuinely like, oh shit, I
don't feel like she ever pays this kind of compliment,
like she really likes this, and oos Up says, do
(55:20):
you really mean it? No trouble at all, Glad you
like it. I thought you'd want a weapon upgrade to
make you feel safe, and I'm just the guy to
do that for you. Now the materials weren't free, so
and now he gives him a wink and says, let's
try a mirage tempo and disappears, and I was like, ah,
(55:45):
that's where we were going with that. She's complimentary and
very grateful up until he's asking for money, and then
she is out out, which is very, very fun. I
like this a lot. Sarah says, it's a combo of
the skill and knowledge no Me got from with area
about controlling weather and usab's technical skill to give her
(56:06):
a practical way to use it. Okay, I wish that
we're more obvious because I don't feel that like I
accept it, but I think this is it's just so odd,
you guys. It's so weird how much the show like
drags certain things out, and then there are things that
I wish we'd spend time on and it doesn't spend
(56:27):
any time at all. And I'd like a little bit
more explanation of certain things and a little more exploration
of moments for other characters, you know, just saying so,
then we have everybody gathered up to say goodbye at
Zoe at the gate and I'm looking at it like,
(56:48):
all right, so, how exactly is this going to work?
Because I'm thinking, like, we're gonna drop off the crew
that's leaving with one of those boats that gets lowered.
You know that it'd be a little thing. And instead
Lufi just says, no thanks, we're good and wraps his
(57:09):
arms around them and then literally jumps off the side
and you get a very prolonged screaming sequence of everybody
who was not prepared for this moment as they plummet
down to the ocean. And then meanwhile in the grand
(57:32):
Line in the Kingdom of Sand called Alabasta, and it's
Viv saying hurry up, father, and he says, why are
you in such a good mood? And she is smiling
and her duck guy is chasing after her and you
(57:53):
just see her like turn to the camera and wink
and say, why not. It's been a long while time
since I went out to see And she is literally
going like yay as she is running toward a ship,
and that is the end of that scene. Sarah says,
(58:16):
your favorite character, Caru says a Florian, Yeah, that's the
duck I always forget his name. Yeah, you guys, it's
so funny because we were talking. There's a preview out
for the live action and Viv is in it, and
it caused some conversation surrounding Viv in the chat on discord,
(58:39):
and it was just one of those things where I
really regret that I don't like Viv, but it's all
the elements are there for something I should like, and
it was just executed very badly. To me, all I
think of when I think of Viv is how much
she was constantly crying and also not telling the straw
(59:04):
hats about threats that were like something that they needed
to face, and it was played as a joke, but
it just makes her looking competent, so it didn't work.
And then once we get to the actual, like, you know,
it's supposed to be this heartbreaking, please stop fighting, everybody,
stop fighting, but it just did not hit for me
(59:26):
at all. And I hope that her being brought back that, like,
let's just pray she doesn't cry so much, because I
can't take it. It's like a combo of just that
she's supposed to be like kind of tough and smart,
but she's never actually being tough and smart. It doesn't
(59:47):
happen in front of us. We're just sort of led
to believe she must have been in order to get
through the whole thing with the oh my god, what
do you call them? You know, boroke club? And I just, yeah,
Florie is saying the same thing. I wonder if you'll
feel different in the live action. I am hoping to
(01:00:08):
God that she isn't like that. In the live action.
You can get emotional about wanting to protect your people,
but like, that can't be all you fucking do all
the time. I can't take it. And also it's the
way that the actress played her. Her voice and her
(01:00:29):
crying is just annoying, really irritating. So I think that
was also a factor that just counts against the character
in a way that maybe if I was reading it
as manga, it wouldn't happen that way, But watching it,
I just couldn't take the sound of her voice. It
was awful. So you know that's that. But yeah, I'm
(01:00:51):
hoping that in the live action they toughen her up
a little bit. Fingers crossed. All right, guys, I have
got to wrap up, but thank you all again for
joining me. Appreciate you all, Thank you Florien for commissioning
this one, and looking forward to seeing where we go next.
Until then, to the lou motherfuckers. That was an unspoiled
(01:01:40):
network podcast.
