Episode 1: "Pilot" - Welcome to Davidstown

Emily Hargreaves is desperate for a fresh start. After escaping from a violent relationship, she retreats to the quiet, remote Davidstown, hoping to rebuild her life far from the chaos of her past. But Davidstown is far from the peaceful haven it seems. Beneath its picturesque streets and quaint atmosphere lies something dark—something that’s been waiting for someone like Emily.

In this gripping first episode: 4 months after a vicious animal attack, Emily confides in her friend Jess, via voice message, recounting the first night she realised that something was very wrong with her.

Emily’s struggle to rebuild her life is only the beginning. As the mysteries of Davidstown unfold, she will be forced to confront her own fears—and the beast lurking within. Tales from Davidstown starts here, with a story that promises twists, revelations, and unforgettable moments of terror and triumph.

Welcome to the world of Tales from Davidstown, a brand new supernatural

(00:05):
audio horror series. Episode 1, Pilot, originally released April 14th 2023.

(00:35):
Where was I? Right. The first time. The night

(01:04):
everything changed. Really changed. You'd finally convinced me to get out and live
a little. Clubs. Bars. The usual mess. Then again, I say the usual but I could tell

(01:29):
something was off. It wasn't the attack by that animal before that was playing in my
mind. That was just the thing. It didn't bother me in the slightest at this point. I thought
the rest had done me good. I felt great all day. Energised. Alert. Focused. I'd even

(01:56):
hit the gym that day and destroyed those workouts. Never been a drinker. That night was no different.
But by that point, I felt almost overwhelmed. Overstimulated. Yes, I know what you want,

(02:19):
you greedy bugger. All through the day, the sounds around me had gotten louder and louder.
Colours more vivid. Smells more potent. Jesus Christ, cat. How are you so noisy? It was
like my senses had been dialled up to 1000. Okay, okay, just give me a minute. I think

(02:45):
Mummy is having a migraine. Have you ever quick marched home and like your body almost
tries to catch up after you stop? I just assumed. Fuck. Why is it so hot in here? Had I been

(03:06):
spiked? Why was my heart pounding like that? Hey, it's just me. Hope you got home okay.
Really hope you feel better. Catch up soon. Love you. Bye. Hey. Yeah, I'm back. Something's

(03:32):
not right. Jess. I think I've been. What's wrong? What's gotten into? Little shit knew

(03:52):
before I did. Oh, what the fuck? I can't quite remember why, but this feeling. It was like

(04:12):
someone just dumped a lifetime supply of adrenaline in me right there and then. Suddenly, I felt
like I wasn't alone in the house anymore. Or more like I wasn't alone in my head anymore.
Hot. Fucking hot. Maybe that was just the thing. Was it even my body anymore?

(04:42):
Oh my God. Oh my God. Oh my God. It wasn't pain. I felt more. A white hot surge pulsing

(05:03):
through me like something else was fighting for the wheel, fighting for control. I think
by that point, I wish I hoped I had been spiked. That this was all some sort of hallucinogenic

(05:29):
episode. I remember catching myself in the mirror. These long pointed ears had started
appearing through my hair. And right at that moment, something, something started pushing

(05:53):
its way out of my mouth. It was the strangest sensation. The room started feeling smaller.
But naturally, that was because I was getting bigger. At this point, I'm not sure what was

(06:28):
making more noise. My throat or my heart. I remember words. Words seemed hard all of
a sudden. Like I was forgetting how to talk. A thought of running. Trying to get outside.

(06:59):
To get help somehow. Only my feet were absolutely not going to allow that.
Oh God. And then that word just kept running and running through my mind. Monster. Monster.

(07:28):
Monster. Monster. And then suddenly, it all seemed so clear. Hunger. Meat. I need meat.
I need to. I need to hunt.

(08:04):
Fuck. I know you're going to think I'm crazy. I wouldn't blame you. But Jets, I need your help.
I need to show you that I'm not losing my mind. That I really am a, a monster.

(08:37):
Stay right there. I'm on my way.
